betty, i have 4 children and one husband that makes five! I have one son at home named christopher, he is 27 and as you know i have two grandchildren chloe 3 and rylie 6 months and one on the way.. a grandchild that is! lol

My oldest is emma, she is 28 then chris and then jessica who is pregnant and 25 and joel my son who is 24. only chris at home tho as his engagement broke off.

nah, i didnt get anymore sleep but i have my day off tomorrow so maybe then... probably is all the worry and such. hubby and i are ok. i think its just stress on my part and me over reacting. i just find that with all that i am trying to handle, the slightest things sends me over the edge. i have to try and be more patient.

Experiencing your 'can't sleep' syndrome...I've a million things to do and short time to do it in..always turns out ok...cut, my adrenaline is going crazy so up and at it with a vengence...probably 4 hrs rest..having coffee and trying to mellow out..lol..

Do the children live nearby? know your 1 daughter does..that's a nice size family Laura...saw both of my boys yesterday so that was nice..Jeff is a bit of a card..he's the one that work is his life so when he arrived at the office yesterday afternoon with coffee in hand, I couldn't believe it..I had e-mailed him earlier to asking what Braedon would like for his birthday so I can have gift waiting for when Jeff brings him up and mentioned I had been in emerge..he had called me on Monday night and I was in bed..said 'mom, just thought I'd rush over, worried that all your affairs are not in order...you do have your will and insurance in my name..right?' brats..that's what I have...really terrific boys...don't know how I lucked out..

well, bath is waiting..and another day ahead..no signs of snow so hopefully it's warming up for the weekend..thank goodness..thought, here I go, doing my Christmas family and friend workshop as not to get into the bad weather for their travelling and we get snow..shortly will have to have Christmas in July...

Your Jeff sounds like my eldest son. We can kid around about "spending his inheritance" etc.

I have to take my car in to be fixed today. I started to put gas in it yesterday..and the gas spewed out under the car..there is a hole in the filler pipe..I took it in and they said they had to order the part and it will be in today. I'm thinking of asking them if they also have time to put on my snow tires..it is that time.

judy, thanks it is the time change, fighting a sinus headace, being off vacation and my head is spinning 100 miles a hour thinking on what i want to work on next need to regroup and finish one thing at a time lol! holliday time makes me crazy always something to see to say oooo i can do that, i just get myself in more trouble lol

shar, thanks its sinus again i wish it would rain so we can have some clean air now your going to laugh its cooold in the mornings and late evening were putting on the electric blanket and turning up the heater ok now for my cold temp now dont laugh but 54 is cold for us.

Oh Liz I understand the sinus headaches. I have one also and it is so hard to think at times and sometimes they almost make me sick to my stomach. So far it doesn't hurt as bad today and I hope that means it is on its way out!

Don't know how much I am going to decorate this year for Xmas. Right now not much. Have no idea what our hours will be either so it is hard to plan anything. The last couple of years we have gone too our parents on Xmas Eve and that has worked real good. Thanksgiving is quiet cuz DH has been hunting and comes home for Thanksgiving and some quiet time. Some in the family don't understand that and think there should still be a big family do. But if I don't plan it nobody else will and I am on strike. They don't realize how much my life has changed since I went back to work even if it is only part-time and plans should not be changed 2 days before.

Betty you sound so much better. I will have to keep that snowman in mind. He's cute and very easy to do. Now will a white sheet work or is that too thick?

...oh gosh got a kid here very angry with us, to bad, not letting her bully me into driving 40 miles on 2 expressways so she can visit with some boy I don't even know at some mall. If thats not bad enough she want us to lett her take the train and several buses to get there! oh,oh then she wants another friend who just got his liscence to drive and I am not suppose to be worried. Nope not happening. she'll just have to be mad...in her room,LOL...

Oh Liz, sure hope you feel better. Sinus Headaches are the worst...I sure understand the 100 mile a minute thinking, I am in that same mode, trying to get caught up..already thinking about taking more days off to work on ornaments, blankets all the thousands of projects going on here...Got Thanksgiving travel on the mind --got pack for that and not forget what I am suppose to bring.LOL

Heard from my DN yesterday...My new Grand Nephew is to be born on Dec. 3!~! so now decided to talk to family and plan a baby shower for TG weekend too. That will fun! hmmm, I wonder if they would object if I came for the event and not have to wait for pics or see him 8months later.

Morning All,

Well, I spent about 2 hours winterizing my hydrangias and gardenia yesterday after work. They were calling for a hard freeze lat night and I have never protected these plants before and they rarely bloom. So this year, I bought burlap and I already had the stakes around them and I figured I'd stuff the burlap with leaves. Well guess what/ No leaves anywhere! I guess the wind blew them all away!! So I ran up to the garden center around the corner to see if they had any pine straw - figured it was a real long shot! And they had some! So I bought 3 bales and came home and while Murphy attempted to "help" me, I stuffed the straw all around each bush and on top. Had to chase Murphy a few times as he decided the roll of burlap was his new toy! I finally just gave him the tube from inside and he promptly shredded that all across the back yard! Hopefully, my plants will appreciate the cover and bloom for me next year!!

Murphy is such a devil! I was talking to my next door neighbor over the fence the other day and had my good clogs on and I was moving from one foot to the other and took my foot out of one of them and kind of stood on the other for a second and I went to put my foot back in my shoe and it was gone. It took me a second to realize who the bandit was. So here I am running around the back yard with one clog on and my neighbor is laughing her butt off and Murphy is just loving it!!!! I finally found a little piece of paper I found and threw it up in the air. Well the wind took it over Murph's head and being the simple-minded dog that he is, he drops my shoe and heads after the teeny shred of paper. Got my shoe back - slobber and all!!!!

Forgot to post that DH came home last night after a hard day at work and decided he wants to move to Smith Mtn Lake to live. Well, I say, I'd love that but I don't think the schools up there are up there with where the kids are now, especially with DD dyslexia. Anyway, we did agree that after the kids were out of HS, we'd sell this house and buy one on the lake. At least that's something to look forward too! I figured we'd never get there except for a week in the summer!

Judy stick to your guns! Just the other day a guy my DH use to work for lost his youngest due to an accident on a gravel road. He was 17 or 18 and heading to a game. We don't know any details so I won't go any further with it. But the poor parents! My heart goes out to them even tho I haven't seen them in years.

Liz the girls start getting our stockroom straightened out and then wham! It's a mess again. If they didn't send everything they want you to sell for the Xmas season all in a few weeks it wouldn't be so bad. But there is no way to properly store it and where you can get to it easy without having to move half of it everytime you need something. No wonder we are all getting worn out already. Look how long we have to go yet.

Carol, did you not get yesterday's blizzard..smart lady getting those snow tires on..I'm going to have to check, bought a new car a few months ago so tires are new and think they call them all seasons so not sure if I have to go out and purchase snows..should drop into the dealership but knowing dealerships they are likely to say 'yes'..more $$$...hope you noticed the gasoline before you put too much into the tank..at the price the pumps are listing gas..one almost has to mortgage the house to fill it...

Liz/Liz..time to mellow out..take a breather, breath deeply in and the out..you know, I always had migraines, the minute (as per Dr.'s instructions) I'd get one it was off to either the hospital or the doctor's office for a needle..needed someone to drive as I'd be out like a light for a day and it always helped...then, I was in USA and tried Excedrin Migraine..now, I simply take 2 pills, sit for about 10 minutes and I can virtually feel it leave...if I think I'm getting one, I take a pill and it stops..friends who travel to the states always brings me some back because we can't get them here..I've tried everything..boy it works..my grandson Kyle gets them as well, he takes the pills and his headache is gone as well..might not work on everyone but I for one make sure I've 2 containers in medicine cabinet at all times...

Vicki..white sheet would be fine, but too white..you could tea dye it..that way it would look aged...it's just straight cutting at an angle to create head..its the scarf material pulled tightly that creates the head...think it would beoverwhelming to me to have 2 major holidays so close to each other..wow, those that travel for Thanksgiving, do they usually travel back to their families for Christmas as it's only a matter of 4-5 weeks??? do like our Thanksgiving..1st. Monday in October..that way, we have time to recoop

Judy, terrible times dealing with these teens..didn't worry as much having 2 boys but sounds like an awfully dangerous situation seeing you don't know the boy...ask her to have him come up for a visit..that way you can be room monitor..lol..a New Year's baby perhaps..Greg was born on New Years Day..never seems to have a special birthday party even though everyone is off on his birthday...think next year for his 40th we'll have a summer party as a surprise...always a fun time...wouldn't you know it..Roger died on New Years Day so puts a damper on things..so New Years brings good and bad memories to all in my family...oh well..that's life! Any garden center should still have tomato cages...it's a quick/quick project..looks lovely when lights are out...

Shar, is your tree still standing this morning? Just you wait till all those gifts are under the tree..lol...I have a 3' tree upstairs with 2 porcelain elves laying underneath...last year Missy would lay between them and put her head on theirs..I'll have to watch to snap a photo...when will you decorate this big/big tree?? are you waiting for Thanksgiving when all are at your house...Ethan would gladly help out..

Boss asked me how I was doing today, said I was tired so he said if I wasn't feeling any better by tomorrow, for me to take Sat. and Sun. off...comedians/comedians all around me...

We suggested this boy come out this way and oh geeze his parents think it too far, as well so these kids will just have to talk via, phone, online, Im, cell...Guess were not the only uncool parents! Will you look at all those options, When i was 14 was lucky to use the phone, let alone talk to a boy!...oh and hey here's an idea write a letter!

Betty, It is nice to have that little rest in between holidays...but for me it's actually is a lot of fun...DD was born Dec. 12 so in our house, Christmas decorating kicks off her birthday weekend, without fail...
Thanksgiving is always Celebrated up North with my family, We go and get a tree in the back woods or purchase one from there. Christmas with IL's One week before...for the big gathering which everyone takes a year...This yr at someone elses so we have a little rest...Then for actual Christmas We have a small immediate family dinner Chrismas eve feast and Enjoy a quiet Christmas day after church...Lots of running but always so much fun.

Checked the weather channel...light flurries for today, rain for the next 5 or 6 days..no freezing rain..out of luck, guess I'm in tomorrow..lol..now I had Wednesday off..you'd think that would be enough for me right...the girls are edging me on, they told me to tell Paul I'm tired, not feeling good, have a workshop Sat. and not sure under the circumstances how much I can get done and perhaps he'll say 'stay home tomorrow' now why do they get the old gal to do this...Sue is his sister, Cindy - his daughter..I'm only the elder SIL..not ancient just 59, but they say he can't say no to me..lol...thank goodness we are a family run business...you'd never get away with this somewhere else..Liz, that's why I stay here...

OMG we had a great time..we go to Wendy's, SIL is in early 40's anyway we take a booth and just beyond us is a booth with 3 gorgeous, wow/wow guys in suits all talking business..Sue says 'look over there' aren't they gorgeous..so we're eating and the 3 men get up, in fun I say "thank goodness you guys are leaving...your gorgeous, was just about to take my tray over and sit with you so others in the restaurant will think we're a number' well into the laughing they go...I said, "will you be having your lunch here tomorrow"..they didn't know how to answer..the one said 'not sure where we'll be' and off they went...everyone in restaurant are looking at this 59 yr. old..thinking this old broad is trying to make a pick up...just so funny..made our day...lol

Way to go Betty! LOL! You probably made their day too. They'll be thinking about you all afternoon and wondering what they missed out on!

well i think it was liz who asked. ( i forget by the time i fet to the end of the thread who asked what!) it can get very cold here , frosty as such. up in the mountains about half an hour away they can get snow. i live near the beach. its at the end of my street so it can get cold with the sea breezes and all however, we are in our spring and heading for summer. bright sunny days ahead at the moment.

Betty the children dont live too far away. Jess lives about an hour away. i get to them from time to time but i see emma the most. Joel keeps to himself a lot and doesnt visit much but i can see hime when i want to. i will see him at christmas and i chat online.

was havng a sleep in finally and then hubby couldnt sleep!!!! so that woke me up..grrr
have a bladder infectiion and you know how yucky that can make you feel! i will have to get some anitbiotics from the doc on monday. cant get in before. oh well. i get them all the time but they do make you feel tired and sick...

not sure what i will do today. see the grandkids i expect.

Look after yourself Laura..maybe you can take a nap this afternoon...perhaps rather than planning something to do, put your feet up, get yourself a good book and just enjoy the day..you need to re-energize yourself..just like the energizer bunny..that might help...

Betty, you are a RIOT! I would have loved to have seen the look on those guy's faces!!!! You go girl!!!!

It's funny how with age, I have mellowed to the point where for the most part, I'm not too concerned what people think if I'm acting funny. Well, my DH and I LOVE to get our daughter when we're out in public. She's at the "tender age" of 12 where EVERYTHING her parents do embarrasses her. So we love adding fuel to the fire. We'll be in a restaurant and a song will be playing or walking down the street and I will start dancing to the beat and grabbing her hands to dance with me. Her eyes get as big as saucers and you hear this screeching "MMMMOOOOOMMMMM"! We keep telling her we only had kids so we could torture them!!! I did make the mistake of dancing on the back porch to "I Like Big Butts and I cannot lie" and one of her girlfriends recorded me on her cell phone and showed it all over the place. I'm probably on YouTube somewhere with my "big butt" bouncing away!!! Ha! Just gotta laugh!!!

Cat, I hope you're up for this crazy bunch. Everyone here is awful nice and are all great friends!!!!

Gotta go now. DD is home with 3 girlfriends. Wonder what I can do to embarrass her when I get there!!! HEE HEEE HEEEE!!!!

Went to have my annual mammogram done today and they had this awesome "sitting on the ledge" fall decoration right on their reception desk. Seems everybody has been Ohhing and Awwing about it. Me too.

I started writing down the measurements and sketching the design, but then i asked if I could come back and take a picture of it. They said: "No problem"!
I KNOW you can do this! It is so simple for someone like you who can cut wood and drive a few nails. AND--It is sooooo adorable!

Will make it a point to go back there asap and snap a digital so i can post it here. OHH!!! It is SOOOOOO cute!!!!!
