Hi girls..it was a day off but I spent it in emergency room..just got home...1 1/2 wait to get in, then they quickly had me into xray and did all kinds of blood work..good think..guess I'm going to live..lol..got some medication, told me not to eat or drink incase they would have to operate..but I'm fine..gave me medication and thought it might work..if not, told me not to hesitate..come right back in..

Hope you all enjoyed your day...hungry/hungry and tired..back to work tomorrow..Paul and Suzanne both said to stay home but I'm alright, back intot he workforce...

Did they tell you what caused this, Betty?? stop and think for a minute, was it the "heavy" food you ate, or is something else wrong?

please rest and follow doctor's orders....you don't want to wake up some late night and find us all pounding on your front door....determined to take control of your health. Now, do you??

So glad you are a bit better..good for you to go in and get checked out. You had us wondering why you hadn't posted since this morning.

There is a bitter cold wind today and rain now. I was out to visit a neighbour's FIL with her today at a retirement home they just moved him into yesterday The gentleman is 92 and a bit overwhelmed at all the new things he has to deal with. The hallways and dining room there are decorated beautifully. I was impressed. I have driven by there for years and had no idea about it.

I'm ok really I am...omg I just mailed them out on Friday Carol, but then again you are close by...was the plastic pkg. of pink dap still flexible??? if it is, please put it in a container so it will keep until we do the sleighs..also, you have cut outs to do...no more white background..get those scissors ..not sure which ones you have let me know and I'll tell you where you have to cut..or perhaps I'll post photo of some already cut...

they are calling for possible snow storm tonight..no,no,no...I arranged my 1st workshop on Sat. to beat the snow/blizzards...it's early Nov. not time yet..but think my snowplow man thinks it is..I pay $450.00 for the winter season..says he'll be around on the 17th...rats..another paycheck out the door..lol..oh well, could be worse, could be that I wouldn't have it right???
Told him I hope he doesn't have to plow tomorrow..he just laughed and said anything is possible...

Judy, couldn't fit into my pants yesterday afternoon after lunch..what a mess to get home in one piece..lol..I worry because I only have parts of kidneys but he checked for bowel obstruction..came back and said he couldn't see any but said that some people, even though their system works regularly have difficulties because the intestines movement is slower thus creating pressure, swelling etc. so I'm off to bathe, primp myself up in bed to play t.v. bingo..certainly would be nice to win that $2,000. tonight, then I hope to be able to stay awake for Dancing with the Stars..I know, said I'd not watch it again after last week but must see if at least one of the good guys (male/female) wins...

So dear friends...signing off..again it's so nice to know someone out there cares...had mega telephone calls tonight so that always makes one feel better..will get the dickens though..didn't tell the boys I wasn't feeling well..there will be h..l to pay...

Wellll, Betty..you know yourself better then anyone and you did see a doc...I guess I feel better as long as rest and follow docs orders too.

So I have had a heck of an afternoon! The school called cause my DS said soething he concidered a joke...to try and get out of some flip comment to his teacher...So they called me and set of yet more alarms in my head and I came flying home! Had a very long talk with the boy who walked awyas in tears for making me so upset and woriied, promised me nothing is wrong, and beleive me I don't take such comments lightly. Then come to find out school called about my other daughter spoke with DH... about the same thing!! Explosions really going off but that turned out to be she was writing lyrics to some crazy song, and I was not told about it until tonight!! NOT cool at all, but as you can see my first reaction is nothing but worry. So with a very heavy sigh..I think this day is at an end for me, good thing I re-energized yesterday!

So the good thing is I am going to settle down with DD Band concert and leave the boy to his dad...they are having yet another serious conversation on the matter...And I really do feel better after hearing his version for myself.

Learned - Having a good talk before I go off the deep end makes explanations a little easier, and My family IS happy, all is good.

liz - that is some nail polish collection. my wife used to be a beautician when we first started dating. at the time all the girls aprayed their hair will enough stuff so that a bullet could not penetrate it. once when we were at a weddingand we were doing a slow dance (the onlyh kind o can do) her head was resting again mine and when the dance was over our heads stuck together because of all the spray she used, we still laugh about it today whenever we dance together.

Here y'all are....I'm feeling like the kid that needs a leash to not get lost around here sometimes.

Yesterday was a little busy. Got into work at 7am. Kids didn't have school because it was election day. No, I didn't vote cause I don't know who is running for what. It was school board and delegate stuff. DH stayed at home with the kids in the AM and then I went home at lunch time and he went into work. I ran the kids up to school for the book fair then to Chick-fil-A for lunch. Hit Wal Mart to make a return and the kids were whining that they wanted a movie from Blockbusters so I ran back home and got a gift card we had for there and went back up so DS could get Guitar Hero III and DD a movie. I made a deal with them if I took them to Blockbusters then they had to go to the garden center with me so I could check out the conifers. My current class is on late fall woody plants and most are conifers which I have never been a fan of. Since seeing all of these, I'm really like some of them so I wanted to see what they had. Anyway, fianlly got back home and worked a bit then tried to catch up on my soaps. Not an easy thing to do for some reason!!

So the night was pretty calm. Watched Dancing and was so glad my guy didn't go - Helio and Julianne I just love! Sabrina was the best and I still can't believe she was voted off! I think it's going to go down to Mel and Helio but who knows after last week's shocker!

Well, off to work some. Betty, please let us know how you are!!

Well, yeah Betty, it is kinda weird not to hear from you yet but I only want to sent out positive energy....

We had a nice ahlloween, I dressed up too and we went trick or treating with the neighbors, went up to the moutnains for a visit, went to a nursery and played some music with friends. I've been in an ebay vortex...like I needed lots more plants but apparently this is the time of year for collecting crinums.....

....other than that just trying to stay out of trouble....lol

Morning all..just got into work..can you believe we had to drive into a 'major snow blizzard' for about 50 miles of the 100 mile trip..wow, said there was over 50 car crashes in 1 hr...once we passed HWY.89 it started to clean..they say the weather front is a stationary front so you know what that will mean..yuk..driving home in it..I drove to Barrie as Suzanne wants to Christmas shop tonight..I'd do same but I teach class tonight so drove that far on my own..just minded my own business, travelled at a safe speed, let some of the idiots pass me..but I'm here in one piece....guess my snowplow man was right on target...might be in my yard after all...lol...Suzanne had Christmas music just a blarring, so pretty, pine trees all laden down with snow..a vision to look at not to drive in...

Carol...think they were calling for some of the same Oshawa way..did you get any??? Roads were bad so stay in - stay safe...

As for yesterday, because of the size of my abdomen they were not sure if their could have been a blockage and that's why they did not want me drinking or eating incase they would have to operate..but that wasn't the case..have meds and feeling much better today...

Dawn, nope we were not doing the class this weekend...actually was thinking about it..I'm here every day, if it's too hard for us all to get together on same day, then we'll do it when YOU have time...

Braedon's birthday today...turns 11..must call myself at home to remind ME to call him tonight..

Didn't win at 'bingo' because they had equipment problems and cancelled..here I was, propped up on pillows, t.v. bed table with cards neatly in front of me..treats and all..then no go so managed to keep awake to watch Dancing with the Stars..didn't sleep well last night and fell into deep sleep after alarm rang and got up at 6:15 rather than 4:45...just managed to feed the animals and then off I went...

Liz..you won't believe it, but I have to look hard to find 2 nailpolish bottles in my house..I'm always working with wood/paints/glass etc. and for that reason, a rarely put on nail polish..admire those who do .. always looks so pretty and feminine...maybe one day I'll go for manicure...

Judy, what a terrible time you had yesterday..don't care how old your children are, they'll always be a worry..glad you have everything straightened out..and I can't wait either to get to sunny Florida...

Hey Betty, can you send some of that snow down here to Virginia? We got about 2 flakes last year. It was pitiful watching the kids try to sled on a dusting!! Some kid actually collect snow from a bunch of yards just to make a mini snowman! :( Very sad! Do you really have to drive 100 miles one way to work?

Can't believe the banking system..went last night to get $$$ out of banking machine..sounds kept coming as though it was trying to give me money and receipt..but no go, kept dialing up and then it would sound again as though they were trying to give me money..finally gave up and paid for it with interact..well this morning, was doing banking and noticed those charges came from my acct. called the company that owns machines..said without a receipt - couldn't help...dah/dah and more dah... no money equals no receipt...called my bank and much the same...so I don't know...

OK...someone hit me in the head tell me to get with it! I got here at 7:00 in morn right at 830 look at my clock and go ok time for short break and realize i never reset my time...so I set my clock back one hr and go about my day. So at 9 was told have to go a meeting at 10...no problem I'll be there...so @ 9:30 I think ok go for a quick before meeting break...got my jacket, key card, cigs on way to elevator I look at the clock over in the next room it says 10:35!! Ok so, Practically screaming I say Hey is that the right time?? Yes it is, I am told...Oh gosh dart back to my desk and throw everything down, grab my paper and coffee and run to the meeting room. I quietly open the door, where everybody looks to see who is late...Blushing I mouth I am sorry. Meeting over in a half hour! So here we all are shuffling out the when I laugh and giggle geeze my time is all screwed up. This lady, who actually drives me bonkers...says oh yeah I noticed your clock was off today!! If lookks could slap her in the head...she'ld be on the floor, I said well WHY didn't you say something? Wouldn't be so bad but this particular person lets me know every two minutes she found something and just wants update me! HHelllo update time change your clock wrong...Ok guess I slapped myself in the head...but go ahead feel free just to make sure i am with it now! So my clock now says 12:05 P.M. Please tell me thats right....

Live north of Barrie and work in Toronto...1 1/2 on a good day..bad weather...well it could take hours/hours...last winter it took us 3 1/2 hrs to get about 40 miles north and then we had to turn around..all roads closed and had to rent a hotel for the night...sure hope things get settled so we can work in Barrie...had thought we might be there by now...

So I'm going to ask a couple of really dumb questions Betty! :)

1 - Can you find a job closer to your home?

Hey, I thought of an awesome craft that if I had painting talent, I'd do. I absolutely love the canvas door banners that you occasionally see around. I've found a few on the internet. There are some made by Klipper Kanvas that are gorgeous. I did buy 2 yesterday on the net. One is a heirloom gardening banner and the other one is for Thanksgiving - w/ Pilgrims. Anyway, eBay has really inexpensive rolls of primed canvas that could be cut and painted!! There's a money-maker for ya Betty! I'd buy them!!!!

Jeannine...not dumb questions..first of all..my husband's brother owns a bankruptcy firm where his sister (my SIL) and 2 of my nieces work..they all live up north...

I retired as Recreational Co-ordinator I'd say about 7 years ago and stayed home until Nov. 2005..Had 3 pensions to live on, so not the end of the world, just had to watch my pennies...

Anyway Paul was having difficulties with keeping good staff and asked me if I'd like to work for him..said he'd pay me well and there would be no stress...do my own thing..i.e. knitting/painting/playing on computer as long as I had a good grasp of the bankruptcy act so that when calls came in I could give them general info, be supportive..show empathy and make them comfortable enough to make a booking...which I do very well...

Because they all live up north he said I would rarely have to drive in myself...he's kept his word..I travel mostly with Suzanne, if she has something to do after work, they all decide who will take Aunt Betty home..feel like a little kid half the time...but it's nice that they all l ook after me...

Paul has an offer on a building about 1/2 way from the city so we are hoping that all goes well...deal was all but done when the owner decided the penalties of 80K was too much for him and unless Paul paid them the deal would not close..then Paul asked the seller whose name the building was in and he said it was his but in company name which means Paul could buy company, thus getting assets, the building without the seller having to pay penalties..so, what we are waiting for now is documentation from the seller showing the company has no liabilities other than the mortgage and once he can prove this..it's a go...we do hope it will close before Christmas thus making the trip 1/2 the distance...only problem left is that between my home and the new location, it's a snowbelt, so if weather is not great, we'd still be hitting the hardest part of the drive..but that's ok..

Had Paul not come to ask me directly I would never had looked for other employment..with my turning 60 in March I'll also get an early CPP pension..total of 4 pensions..liveable...so, when I get tired of working I'll be home...then will start teaching again...when I left teaching painting which was done in my home, my girlfriend who also is a painter kept teaching in my home Mon. & Wedn. so I'd just start teaching same students again..I teach the Wednesday night class although it's a long day for me..but love to work with new students...

I have 3 girlfriends (and myself) who do beautiful work..more realism, painted furniture etc. because some of them might take 60-80 hrs. to paint, a living.. you just can't earn a living (same as your quilting)..you almost have to do primitive painting and that's ok..I do that as 1 day workshops..something quick and simple...

So I've many options when the time comes..but with the money I'm being paid right now, I've put a new peaked room, sided the house, all new covered decks, starting on replacement of windows - 5 more to go..and when I get too tired..well I'll just say I'll do fill ins...makes things so much easier when you know you can quiet any day of the week that it's just extra's...

Jeannine, painted quite a few of similar ones..gave them as Christmas gifts a few years ago..I'll have to go searching for mine..lol...

The more primitive and sparkly objects are, the quicker they sell...

Laura...did try everything short of driving there..so, all we can do is keep Tangie in our thoughts and prayers..perhaps one day we'll see her post..in the meantime..do miss her posts...

Betty, you've got it together!! Good for you! I hope I am that spry at 60! I do hope you get to go to the new bldg. It is nice you can drive in with someone and chat. I'd be falling asleep without that. We have an office in Toronto on Yonge Street. Maybe one day they'll send me up there for something and I can come visit!!!!

Jazz cat got into the 10' tree...got up this morning to find branches on the floor, Jazz nowhere to be found. Daisy led me straight to him....Jazz has pouted all day. so have I. that danged tree is TALL!!!

Turn off the ceiling fan, climb upon the ladder....can only carry a couple branches at a time....down ladder to get more....up again, down again.

If I wake tomorrow to find more branches on the floor....either the cat goes or the tree goes. If it weren't so heavy the tree would have turned over because Jazz is getting huge.

OK, got that out of my system......feel much better.

Ashley and Jeff just don't know to listen to their mothers!!!!!

Boy oh boy you guys are early to bed tonight...just finished my class..projects turned out wonderful..I keep looking at this craft room and know it all has to be cleaned up before everyone gets here on Saturday..plus I've still cutting and a lot of shopping to finish my list of decorating items for the class..of all the weeks that we have to work Friday..could have spent the day doing my running around...oh well..I'm a down to the wire type of girl..sit down about 2 minutes before everyone arrives..

girls saw a project I did last year and want to do it..so will have to purchase muslin..

All of you who sew might also be something inexpensive to do....perhaps it's down you ally...

You need tomato cage and lights..secure the lights around the tomato cage..then I sew the muslin..pack the head with stuffing..sew two black button for eyes..wooden nose painted burnt orange..I've a metal bow as well as fabric but you could just use material...I also use rusted stars for design down the front of it as well as the star above it's head...plug it in and it looks lovely..oh I'd better take a photo before I'm off to bed...know you'll want to see it..

Don't know why even in the dark using flash..it doesn't do it justice or you can't really see it lit up..just a thought..

Now you really know I'm tired right..want to guess what's the clue..yup..when I'm tired I REALLY REALLY RAMBLE and I fight going to bed...
