Ya, kinda like the "Purple Pill"-I had to get some other pill, forgot the name, cause Insurance wouldn't cover Nexium, but it still cost me almost 50 bucks, for something that did NOT work! Now I don't have any insurance, so it don't matter either way! HA HA HA
I tell DH that he and I are sure gonna be quite the pair when we are old and gray, both with canes trying to hold each other up!
Stop and visit, talk all you want.
THAT'S MY PROBLEM!!! LOL Nexium worked for a while but then it stopped. Now I use Aciphex. Works MOST of the time.
What a pair we will make is right! That's too funny.
This is funny only because the persons it happened to thought it was hilarious. They couldn't stop laughing when it was over. I was working in another mall a couple of years ago and this older couple used to come in a shop all the time. She has a disease that makes it so her joints don't bend any more. He has had back problems all his life. Lovely couple. Nicest people ever. She walks with two canes and is very stiff. He walks with two canes as well but his are the kind that attach to his forearms. Well, one day she fell. I saw her start to go and couldn't get to her in time. He tried to catch her but forgot about his canes that were attached to him and they BOTH went down in a tangled mess. I TRIED not to laugh but my better judgement was elsewhere that day and I coudn't hold back. I finally got to them and they were both giggling like school kids! Fit to be tied all of us were! I appologized for laughing but they BOTH said, if you can't laugh at funny things there is something wrong with you. I hope they're still out there laughing somewhere. I haven't seen them in a couple of years, like I said.
I can just see DH and I in that situation. He will be the first one to start up with the giggling. (Yes, he giggles. Don't tell him I told you! LOL)
ROTFLMAO! That has to be one of the cutest stories I have ever heard! I just love lil elderly people!
Oh, a DH that giggles, how sweet! :) SHHHHHHHHH I will never tell! :)
That is a sweet story, Kwan. and I won't tell about your DH giggling if you won't tell about mine. . . and once he gets started it escalates into a real shrill laugh which I can't begin to describe to you. Whenever he goes off into one of THOSE laughs, whoever is around will stop what they are doing and start laughing too. Pretty soon everybody is laughing. It is something to behold! But DH, being the dignified man that he is, doesn't very often let himself loose when others are around. Sunday night we were watching City Slickers, just the two of us, and he did let himself loose and we were both laughing so hard we couldn't hear the movie. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine."
DH and I will be off later this morning to take MIL to the doctor. I might get to check back in later tonight. Depends on what time we get back home. Y'all have a good day. :o)
((((((((((hugs to everyone))))))))))
I am totally recovered from the company, actually they stripped their beds and helped me straighten before they left, real sweeties to have for company. ; ) I avoid the Black Friday sales too. We don't do a lot of gifts anyhow and I am into the stress free stuff, not standing in line and crowds. LOL! As for the health problems mentioned, sounds like many of us are in the same boat. I take Nexium and with my Ins. I still pay $54 for it. But it is working really well for me. The last 2 Falls I had to have an outpatient procedure done to stop choking, this year so far so good! I think it is healing my esophagus. As for other body aches, my hottub and yoga combo seems to be the best bet for me. Staying limber seems to be the key. I had a lot of hip, knee and back pain before I started yoga and got my hottub.
I love it when DH and I can have a chuckle like that! At times we laugh so hard I cry, lose my breath, and just can't stop! :)
Boy I am glad I did NOT have company this year! Well, I take that back, we are dog-sitting! LOL
Prevacid, that's it! That is what I was taking instead of the Nexium. Now I just take Zantac, and it is much cheaper, and seems to work better.
Sure wish I had a hot tub! :(
Ask Santa? Actually I decided I wanted one and dh doesn't have the muscle aches like I do (he wasn't digging holes with a pick ax like I was at the time we live on a rocky hillside). Anyhow it was the most money I ever spent on myself. But he said the other day I have saved a lot of $ on meds since I have it and he is right. I used to take Mobic daily and now rarely do. Prevacid? I think I took that one and it didn't work like the Nexium and had some side effects I wasn't happy with. Now I understand that quote about old age not being for sissies!
Dear Santa,
I really, really want a hot tub! But, this also means that I need an addition to the deck to make it larger since DH was so kind as to let me have a green house on one end of it!
I really like the Zantac. When I first started on it I was taking it daily, if not more, but once it started taking effect I don't have to take it near as often.
I do not like being sick, or in pain, so I guess old age isn't for me either! LOL
I lucked out on the place for the hottub. My back porch is a foot wider than what I needed to be able to set it there. I have 3 large porches, shade is important in the desert. So the only big expense we had was the electrical to hook it up. If you live in a larger city, you might be able to rent time in a hottub to see if it would be a good thing for you. My dd does that sometimes, as she has a pad for one but can't afford the tub yet. One of our local motels rents time in theirs but I never did got and try that option.
I live in a small town, with nothing large enough like that anywhere close. :( If I lived in St. Louis or Springfield (which I wouldn't do! LOL) I could probably find something like that. I am like your DD, I can't afford it either, with my "addiction" and all! LOL At least my plant addiction is cheaper a little at a time! LOL But I would hate to take all the receipts and add them together! :)
DON'T do that, Misty. I did that once and got the shock of my life! LOL Just a few $$$ at a time and no one notices. We have a hottub but it's not working. It hasn't since we got it from my brother two years ago. Hopefully, we can get it fixed this spring. Right now it just sits there and mocks us! LOL
LOL! We keep our receipts in an envelope and it just sits there staring at me, saying "Add ME, Add Me"! LOL But, I am NOT listening to it!
Maybe I will get lucky and come into a lot of money some day and get a hot tub! Although, if it was just a small amount, and I had to decide between it, and another green house, I think the latter would win! HA HA HA
HELP! I need a fire extinguisher! I have been eating Andy Capps Hot Fries and my mouth is on fire! LOL
Yes, I know, horrible breakfast, BUT, I did eat chocolate first! LMAO! :)
It is all DH's fault, be brought them to me last night. :)
I love the things, and is one of the VERY FEW hot items I eat, but man they are hot!
I haven't had any of those in ages! LOL Yesterday for breakfast, I had a bag of Cheetos and a banana and an apple. On TG, one of my DB's handed me a Peanutbutter and Banana Reeses Cup. Mmm... I could only eat half (chocolate bothers my RLS) and DH ate the rest while I stared at him. I miss chocolate. (sigh)
Oh I love em! But gotta have lots a liquid to make it through! LOL I love Cheetos, too, the crunchy ones. MMMMMMMM
A peanut butter and Banana Reeses Cup????????? Our daughter loves Reeses, but never seen that kind. When I was pregnant with her I couldn't hardly eat chocolate, or drink Mt. Dew, man that sucked! But, I did it at times anyway cause I just could NOT take it any longer! LOL
I get sneaky sometimes, especially around now. The list of stuff I can't have is helping me lose weight, though. Not a bad thing. 15 lbs. now. Woo hoo! But I still cheat! LOL Why does all the good stuff have to be bad for us?
(This thread is getting kind of long. Should we start a new one? I've noticed some of our friends are not joining us.)
I snuck back into my office to see what is going on here before we leave to pick up MIL. Glad you are recovered from TG, cactus. Lucky you to have a hottub.
I'm with kwan, misty. You should definitely NOT add up all those receipts! LOl I keep all my receipts too, mainly because they are all on my debit card and I keep them to put with the bank statements. However, if one of those plants should not make it within the first year, most nurseries, even HD and Lowe's, have a one year guarantee on their plants, so it does pay to save the receipts.
Hot Fries--I am afraid that is something I couldn't eat. I don't like hot, spicy food! Makes my tongue burn and gives me an itchy feeling in the top of my head--go figure that one out! I do recommend chocolate for breakfast, or any other time of day LOL
So, kwan, RLS? I'm assuming that means restless leg syndrome? and how dare those doctors blame it on chocolate!! LOL You have my sympathy.
I am very thankful I don't have RLS or stomach or esophagus problems or a heel spur. However, I have had open heart surgery to repair a leaky heart valve and I do have a pacemaker. I have to take BP medication and a blood thinner and sometimes a diuretic. My meds cost me less than $50 per month though, so I am thankful for that. DH takes the same meds I do, except for the diuretic. We are "twinkies" LOL That's carrying togetherness a little too far! LOL
Okay, I'm off to MIL's and then to the doctor. Talk to y'all later!
edited to say that we cross-posted, kwan, and yes we do need to start a new thread. Go ahead, please.

Yep, I have a Cyclamen sitting here waiting to go back home to Lowe's! If it don't like me, then I don't need it, is how I look at it! Did you know they will even take Annuals back within a year? I think that is kinda silly, cause they know they won't, more than likely, survive the winter! LOL
And hot and spicy makes my head and hands itch, but it don't stop me! LOL I also love Hot Tamales Candy! But I can't do Jalapeño and stuff like that, go figure!
Chocolate for breakfast is my favorite way to get my day started! Or, to finish off my night! LOL Although, it is a bad habit to start with your children, but I am already too late on that one! :(
Ditto on the new thread. :)
I've moved us over to make it easier.
