Today's Weather in Your Garden 5

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

That's a gorgeous photo! I'm happy that you still have some color down there in RI.

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

Thanks! I snapped that pic just in time! I just looked out the window and the high clouds are covering the sun. The trees always look so alive when the sun is hitting them.
We lost some leaves in the storm yesterday and a few weak limbs here and there but the oaks and some maples are still hanging on to their leaves.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

We lost all of our leaves. Now, those of us that care to do so, can take lovely photos of the spikey trees!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good morning all! Great shot Sue. 44 and perfectly clear skies here with some wind. Should be a great day. My Dad is 80 today! We had a great dinner for my parents last night.

(Zone 4a)

Well we have already had a few frosty nights where we had to scrape the windshields....brrrrrr!!! Mornings are so cold. However it does seem to warm up a bit in the day - definitely jacket weather though.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm SO happy that dinner for your parents went so well, Victor! Guess NOEL wasn't big enough to curtail the festivities, huh? How wonderful!! And special congrats to your dad on his birthday.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you Candyce. Noel never really showed up in the city. Mostly a LI event.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

We didn't get much here, either. Not a raindop fell.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Sue - that is a gorgeous view. Hope everyone in Noel's path survived the storm without any damage. If there was anything left alive it's gone this morning - heavy killing frost last night. Brrrrrrrr!! Eleanor

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

We'll be singing about Noel here next month.

Michaela - you don't need to dig your tubers yet, you can wait until after some frosts or a freeze. Mine will all be zapped by midweek and with it getting dark early now there isn't much gardening time during the week.

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

A beautiful sunny Sunday morning: 47 degrees F at 9 am, 33% humidity, 10 mph winds (NW), barometer at 29.83 and going up, and a sky as innocently blue and clear as a baby's eyes. . . "Would I ever howl and blow and rain 3.5 inches yesterday?? Not ME!. . . I'm sure that big tree that fell down in your front yard came down all on its own!"

Happy Birthday to Victor's dad and my wishes for good health and happiness.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you Pirl! He and my Mom have always been my role models.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Aw, Victor, you sound like a really nice guy!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not really. Just do it for that type of reaction.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Betty Crocker was my roll model.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Still have that big doll of her, Al??

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

A doll?
A few years back, I had some female surgery, and needed 6 weeks to recuperate. We were in the car ready to go to the hospital when I told DH I had to run back in the house. I put an inflatable doll in bed with a note, and then we went off to the hospital. I was laughing so much in the store while buying it. And much more after he found her.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Missing the arms and legs - I got hungry.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

So...you used to be a guy?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Should have used helium Deb so he could stare at her on the ceiling!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Hope I didn't offend anyone. He didn't think it was funny.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Too funny, guys!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not to worry Deb.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Amazing!
It just shot up to 48* here, and my! How great the sunshine feels!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Funny story, Debilu!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Lovely bucolic shot, Sue!!

Deb - I loved your prank......so funny!!

Victor - so glad your Dad's dinner went well. I hope he has many more wonderful birthdays. It is so nice that you feel that way about your parents and appreciate their important role in your life. So many people just don't get that!!

West Norriton, PA(Zone 6b)

You guys are nuts! What a fun group.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Louise!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Deb -- he's lucky to have a DW with a sense of humor. Lots of people (me, for instance) would be too apprehensive about being away for 6 weeks to have the mental energy to think of a stunt like that.

xx, C

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Carrie - thanks.
I wasn't actually away for 6 weeks, he had to "stay away" from me for 6 weeks.
