Fall Color 3

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

No more fall color here.
90% of the leaves have been blown off the trees and 100% of those seemed to have ended up in my yard!!

Nice shots Victor. Nice colors. Told my Dh yesterday that I thought our lilac was dead, and I was thinking about replacing it with either a Crape or a JM, and he said, why wouldn't you get another lilac? 3 times. Then he finally said it's your garden, get what you want. He'll appreciate it once he sees it.

The Boston Ivy looks great, Victor.

Personally, debilu, I love lilacs, so I'd have to side with your DH. It's amazing though, isn't it, how they (DHs) usually come around to our way of thinking, given enough time?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Victor - those shots out your window are wonderful! You have a great eye for combining textures so well...the colors are terrific!

Bebop - stunning shot of your hiking vista!!

So nice to see the beautiful color you all are still enjoying up there!!!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

That would make an awesome puzzle Victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Anita - it would drive me crazy! Not a puzzle person. I would always hide one piece and let everyone else do the work and then put the final piece in!

How smart, Victor!

Sneaky is more like it!

Not a great shot of my neighbor's Serviceberry, a great plant I am always recommending. Like a Blueberry - gorgeous white scented flowers in Spring, great tasting berries in Summer and a brilliant display in Fall. What more can you ask?

Last but not least - the front of my border - beautiful leaves from my neighbor's Maple, my wonderful ground cover Ranunculus 'Buttered Popcorn' and one or two leaves of Geranium 'Rozanne'. Nice little vignette. (Did I say that?)

Victor all your shrubs seem to work hard all year for you, I'm making a list. Great color from everyone but the best has passed here too, and yet there is some green left here and there. Most leaves that were hanging on are down on the ground from the storm.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks ngam. I always do lots of research before selecting plants. When you do have limited space you need to get the most bang for your buck in terms of space and season length. If I had acres I would not have to be as picky.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Oooooh, Victor - LOVE your vignette and all the other pics you posted as well. That brick wall with the blueberry and ivy is really pretty. Nice shots! I will consider the Serviceberry at our NH farm! You've sold me!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks - I'll send the invoice for the Serviceberry.

No problem. I have about three cents left in my garden budget right now!! LOL
