Fell asleep so easily last night..tossed turned all night and then into a deep sleep...then about 1/2 hr. or so the dog was going crazy,man was at my door, said he'd gotten a call (taxi) to drive someone from this address to Toronto..well, all my light were out, no sign of life, and this guy is insisting he has a pick-up, then proceeds to tell me that he needs me to call local tow truck because he's in the ditch next door, so I get my telephone book out, find the number and before I can dial, he's back at the door, confirming my address and says, 'someone here called a taxi' yup, it's either he's been sleeping part of the night and just got awaken or he's had a few to drink..more likely the 2nd....so, here I am, on my morning to sleep in and I'm up and at it...not nice...lol...

Liz, I'll take photo of the geese pieces as I have a few already cut out and painted..always do extra's..will post close up for you to see..it's pine but it hasn't been put through the playner..most of my primitive pieces are done in same so that is has a nicer look to it...

Tropicanna, so you got to meet some nice people, just a reminder..you can look, but no touching...lol...is your daughter getting excited about halloween?

Today is to be very busy before I get off ...got 3hrs to finish all! Then it's off for the weekend...DS to present his work in the confrence, I am a little excited to see what he has been working on. He is pretty creative in using recycled peices and has been collecting odd pieces frm around the house, Wonder what he's doing with a mouse trap??

So nice to snuggle back to sleep. With our weather changing I sure don't wanna get up either.

Spending time with your sis is awsom. No matter what the occasion for sure. hahha, sharing the love with the tease...perfect sisterly love! Enjoy...P.S. I am sure yours are better!

I really have tried to locate Tangie (Jan) from sending cards, to contacting their municipality and getting tel.#'s, e-mail/fax etc....made several calls and left messages to no avail..so guess we'll just have to keep praying that she is well and one day will join us...her subscription was ending in a few days and someone extremely considerate and special (truly not me) paid for an extension so that if she was able to, her subscription would still be active...

Now you all have to see how very close we've all become..how we open arms to all who want to join us, how we care about the wellbeing of each other and of their families...internet acquaintances???? no, no my friends, much more than that...we have become part of each others lives..always concerned about the others...

Well, keep thinking it should be afternoon by now..I've even got my homemade turkey soup on...and boy did I screw up..

Got up early, took everything out of the china cabinet and washed it down, dusted everything in the living room, vacuumed, did the windows, did my homework on the piece I'm doing and did 2 extra's (one never knows when you need a gift) and then sat down for coffee...and my mind is working as to get the most out of the day and I think, ok Betty, it's time to finish that wall the contractors did, sand the mud so you can prime and paint it, ready for new curtains..yep..that's putting the cart before the horse isn't it..once I sand - all that drywall dust will be all over and I'll have to do everything all over again..can you imagine..as if I didn't have enough work to do, I've just created more...lol...

So I'm off for now..once my shift here at home is over I've to go and pick up wood for some projects...perhaps even get some cut...

OHHH, thanks for the pic, got a better idea what I am looking for! Getting my list together to go shopping. Invited a friend to make a sleigh with our on-line seminar, and she is excited to come. Thought it was a real cool idea...me too.

Well, got back from conference-We were pleased. DS did a real nice job in conducting it, and he was pretty touched by the letter dad wrote. I am smiling.

Big bummer i wasn't able to participate in this years festivities. Will make my contribution tomorrow, also decoration will remain up until HW so I'll still be able to take pictures...On the upside, everything got done and I left at 11:30! So nice outside we are tending to some chores-see you later

well i gained a bout 8lbs of my weight back and I'm not feeling too hot but I do love my hair, for a bald chick it's not bad. it looks fuller in back. I will try to take a pix of my hair, but not my fat body. lol

Just going to add 'what a pretty lady' head turner for sure...don't you fret about that 8 lbs. you'll get rid of it in no time...wonder why we all want to be thin so much...I take time now when I see someone on the heavier side to look at their beauty and those I speak with have such a sense of humour and caring and compasion to them...why do we want to change that....maybe we should just be changing our hairdo's (lol) the way we dress, add a few jewels, lipstick and walk with the grace of a model..yup that's what I'll do as I dress for my painting class this morning..pretty myself up...hmmm now won't that outfit look lovely when I finish my day!!!

Off I go..will post photo of my artwork this evening..it's raining outside, rather cool so won't be wasting a sunny day inside..always makes me feel better about the day..

Hi all. Just spent half an hour reading all my threads. Now that I think of it it was all good news other then those that have the ickies. A good way to start the day.

You guys all enjoy Betty's class. I will probably lurk and enjoy it.

Dawn I love your new haircut. My is too fine to do that. Don't worry about the 8lbs. If that is all you have gained you can take it off in a month or so.

Liz The people that steal are so good at it. They have taken a Pregnancy test kit out of the box and left the box. Opened a 3 pack of kleenex(the square boxes)and walked out with one. Now how do they do that? I know wait until we are busy. We find empty hangers all the time. Yes some people leave the hangers and bring up the clothes. They switch pieces on the 2 piece outfits. Oh yes it is interesting.

Betty not that I want to be thin. But 20 lbs. would make me feel better and move easier. Then If I wanted I could lose another 30. But I don't want to go that far. Have lost some in the 9 months I have been working. 10-15 but noboby has noticed. I know it has to do with how I dress but I am starting to notice it more all the time and I feel a bit better about myself. Gaining the weight has not been good for my poor self esteem.

On that note

Best thing Today is my last of 5 work days in a row.

Worst thing We got rain someone else could of used.

Betty, How cute...can just picture you in the post office ripping open your package! So glad your Angel has arrived! Nothing like a rainy day to allow indoor fun and activity. Today is a sunny day here for a bit, will take advantage for some outdoor work. Yesterday WE worked outside, brought all my knombes in and today will scrub them down and set them about their winter places in the sunroom. Think I've told you they were my mom's so they never stay out in the off season, trying to decide if i should re-paint them or leave them as they are...Not exactly sure what the family is doing today, but I will have my fun outside...lots to do, Poor garden has been grossly over neglected...Guess what? I noticed a new shoot on one of my Roses-Joseph's Coat!! Planning on checking out the rose forum and ask some questions...maybe I can bring her back if anyone here has any suggestions I would love to hear them...I guess i am just afraid to move her...Then if it rains well, got some ornaments to work on....And I too am axiously waiting for a package from our Laura...woohoo, my kids will be excited to tell me it's from Australia!! Hey Liz...is today the big Bake off? How fun is that. Got a call from my baby sis last night! Was so very glad to hear from her. We talked for hours. She is a chef! We are planning Thanksgiving. And Guess I am really excited as she has asked me to help plan her Official Wedding for April!! They were married by justice but now they can afford a little ceromony...I will be creating her bouquet as a gift, all silk.
Will be thinking of you, with a big smile on my face.

Well I've written a chapter and haven't told you all...Remember, the photo's of my neices and nephews? Well as stated had to take them myself..LOL. But that was the weekend of my Sister's "Ghost Feast" The one year anniversay (memorial) of her passing. Also the time in which we as a family and friends gathered. Something happened to me that weekend that I can't explain but I have been Exhilierated from the experience! My energy levels have simply soared and I just can't stay focused on one given thing! Mind is racing to get things done and start projects long awaiting...LOL, I can't seem to focaus on all I want to say, their is just so much to say! I do know this...
I am so greatful to all of you, Thank you so very much for all your support and prayers in one of the most devestating years of my life. You can't even imagine how you have all helped me through so much lonliness and heartache. Each and everyone of you have opened your hearts to me and I just wanted you to know what a pleasure it is for me. Thank you...I love you all.

Wow, go painting and look at my friends..busy/busy, chatty/chatty...lol...

Don't know why I sign up for the type of classes which are ultra modern because they are just not me..the piece is very textured and roughly painted (meant to be) so I struggle with keeping it simple..it has orange tinge to it so I'll frame it and give it to Suzanne who has a deep orange kitchen ..frame is stained but not quite sure what I'll do with it from here on in..as well, worked hard, almost got 2 done..finish the 2nd in the morning..always nice to have a gift or 2 sitting incase of someone dropping by...

Signed up for another 1 1/2 day session...other than a couple of friends being in it I have no clue why I signed up..but, sure to have fun unless of course there is a blizzard going on..lol...

I still had my gifts in the car Laura, so of course I had to bring inside and show everyone...

Judy you sound so up/up, how nice it is to hear that in your posts..DH must wonder if he's got the same lady living with him...hmmm....how's that van of yours..no problems I hope...bet the kids are anxious for Halloween??? Painting studio picked Dec.7th for our workshop day..usually about 20 attend..always lots/lots of fun..so I'd better get cutting..didn't realize it either, Dec.8th is when we tentatively arranged our family Christmas seeing I'm leaving for Florida around the 20th..not sure how I'll manage all of it, but seems the busier I am, the more I can accomplish...
Well, did a stew yesterday, one of my favorites, so guess I'll go warm it up..best to sit right at the stove so I don't forget I'm cooking and burn it...that would be something I would do...

You can see the pears are really primitive, then the santa a little more tole painted but what I do enjoy is my realism..here is a piece that I've almost completed..beautiful tray, trying to decide if I want to make folding legs that hold in so it can be used for tea (as if I think I'd need such a thing), much too big to just hand it on a wall..have no clue what I'll do with it..any suggestions...

had a lovely day yesterday, went to a place called Cladermede farm. they have cows, cattle.
they have a lovely cafe. of course all their baking is home made, the meat their own beef and the dairy products their own,
My DH said "come on and i will take you out for lunch" so off we went into the countryside *which only takes about 30 minutes). we had breshetta for starters followed by a home made meat pie that was amazing, salad and fried and a bannana thickshake!! we sat outside and watched the world go by. tey have a opetting zoo there freee for the the kids and such. it was really wonderful. he is so lovely to me.

What did I learn today...that I so enjoy my girlfriend Liz's call..she's from Ireland..she has been over 3 times..infact I took her to Florida one christmas..anyway..she call often and we talk on msn...she sure does know how to make me laugh...everytime I see our Dawn (Hellman's) photo I see a younger version of Liz...both so pretty and both have same features...love them to death...

Hello Dear friends.

Laura, no package yet. I'm keeping my eyes peeled.

Dawn, you are absolutely beautiful! I love your hair!!!

So, I survived my first week back at work and really enjoy the people I am working with. Very easy going and basically told me it doesn't matter where I work (home or the office) as long as I get my work done!!!! I went in really early yesterday morning because I took DD to her bible breakfast. By getting in at 7, I caught my boss trying to get in and print some work and get back out before anyone arrived! HA! Good thing about that was he saw how early I got in!!!

Anyway, worked until around 4 and then had to go buy soda and chips for DD's halloween party she and a bunch of friends were having at SOMEONE else's home!! I tell you what...I am not one of those moms who can sit around and watch kids just having fun, spilling a drink here or there, drop chips, run all over the place and not be so stressed out to need a valium.

The mom and Dad for this party are my heros! We're talking FORTY FIVE 11-13 yr old BOYS AND GIRLS! She had to break up the "make-out room a acouple of times and finally just locked all of the doors upstairs except the one with the playstation. Of course with any group of pre-teens, there was plenty of drama! Thank God I missed it! I went over at 10 to check on them and ushered kids into the house and down from upstiars and out of the bathroom (hiding in the shower!). I just walked around with my eyes bugged out and my hand over my mouth just going "OMG! OMG!" In between, I was laughing my butt off at these kids!!! At 11:00, parents showed up and the kids started coming out of the woodwork. I was amazed! I was also amazed that only ONE parent came inside to meet the parents and see where their kids was going to be. All of the other parents just dropped their kids off and were gone! And parents wonder why kids get into trouble!!

So the party ended and DD and a friend hit the bed and were out! We all joined them as it was a long day!

Today, I got up and went grocery shopping and caught up on some shows we taped. Have had a bad headache - I'm sure seasonal stuff. Took a short nap in the afternoon then got up and made homemade tacos which everyone loves!! Sitting her now watching my Red Sox play. I want them to win but I want it to be in Boston so the Rockies can win 2 of the games so we can go back east!!

Murphy did well this week - no accidents in the crate. We've got Madison visiting again while his Mom is down visiting her DD at college.

Tomorrow, my DFIL and his companion are stopping by on their way thru town. Thankfully, I don't have to feed them!! ;-) Got to get the house cleaned a bit before they arrive though.

Didn't sleep most of the night..quite a storm..kept thinking those big old oak trees out front might come tumbling down into my bedrom...(only thing that would tumble into my bedroom at this point) lol..tempted to get up and work at 3am..tossed/turned, watched movies and then when I should have gotten up, I fell asleep..now it's 8 in the morning and best part of the day is gone...

Thought I might go over to my girlfriends for coffee..they've put a large extension on their cottage and are up for the weekend.. might be a little early for them so I'll have my 1st cup here..

Should get started on the drywall sanding only 1 wall in living room due to new window being installed..makes such a mess hate to start it, but better make that 'my today' project...

Yuk/Yuk...sanding the wall and what do I see...snow coming down..it's light but regardless, it's still snow..right..once it's here and stays for the winter I don't mind it..it's the in-betweens..so guess I'd better leave the sanding and get the last of the garden put to bed...

nice to see you just full of energy yes the bake off oh boy where do i begin cousin didnt come so it was nice, dh was the best he went to san francisco to get us foccicia bread from this bakery in north beach they are famous for their fresh baked bread thats all they have, its the best so here comes the poor guy in the door with 16 sheets of bread needless to say he said here is two sheets for you girls to have now.. whoo hoo we destroyed both there just smothered in there tomato sauce and green onions mmmm!

well sis came over around 8.30 looked at my mini tub of decorations and another bag of decorations and said i cant stand this to organised lol so i had to go to the post office to mail out a box so i had the recipe out and she flipped out over the sugar cookie mix called for crisco and she was going to substitue butter for the cancer causing agent i told her i wouldnt alter the recipe but who am i lol then i had two bag mixes of spice cookies so off dh and i went to the post office she said she would have everything made.
well we got back she said i dont get what happened the sugar cookie looks not mixed and the spice cookie looks like cupcake batter omg i said did you follow the instructions? her reply was no i mixed it all togeather well duh so as i remixed it she said oh it looks different now, im telling ya i was banging my head up against the wall lol
so i rolled ,she baked then she said i was to fast so we tradded she looked at me and said can you kick it up a notch what is taking you so long i reminded her of the flour and told her then you do it so we switched again now im going to have to go to church to light a candle for myself for this.. so while were having a great time yapping my sil shows up unanounced she brought the dogs toys and came in the kitchen i was irritated dont get me wrong love her to death but i felt invaded on with my time with my sis.
turns out she said oh are you going to be baking all day i said yes she came over to say i need my bangs cut i told her tomorrow is fine, you mean to tell me she couldnt do it herself i swear i need to move to the north pole
then we started on cupcakes then dh did it again he went to pick up my nephew in pacifica its about 20-25 minutes away to bring him up to the house dh said he wanted our day to be fun with no worries and interuptions he is just the best...
we had a very good baking day hope your weekend was good

My friends and I baked all day and cooked dinner for ourselves and Greg because everyone else flaked out. I would be irritated by that too Liz. People are so codependant sometimes.

Thanks that is my son Nicholas and my Dad, George. (My biological dad that I got disowned over having a relationship with)! I think I look like him, Slovich. See thin hair though. Ha? deceivingly thicker hair for a bald eagle. lol

Just got back from church so that is the best for today. Our church plays contemporary Christian music and rockish even sometimes, but today they did old bluegrass hymns and it was so fun, like I saw the light.
