gita, lol omg it all started in the 80's i saw a kitchen similar thought how cool is that and just started adding a little at a time i came from a family of throw it away dont save anything so alot of things remind me of childhood seeing granny use some of the same items,
now when granny comes over she's 90 sharp as a pistol comes in the kitchen and says omg look at all this junk i threw away.
shar, lol i know its overwhelming actually dh would love to get a stick of dynamite to the house and start over.
betty, come on down the back room has your name on it oh dh has enough trouble with me omg two of us lol, hope your headache go's away ok lol you can have xmas
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends Pt18
betty, that table is to cool with all the fake food
Liz, if you ever get tired of it all, you can have a garage sale right in your kitchen!!! Whew! I do not envy you on cleaning day!!! Really neat stuff!!
All the fresh air today wore me out! Just finished watching Friday Night Lights from Friday (love that show!) so I think I will be haeding up to hit the hay. Got to save my energy to root for my Sox tomorrow night!! Rooting for the Rockies tonight!
All right ladies, I will post some tomorrow. I only have 4 days left to be gainfully employed. Thursday is "D" day! ;-( waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
night all!
J
i cat belive all the things you have!!! the dusting alone make me faint!
the pics are lovely what scenery!
oh betty how cute that table is...
I first saw your pic of the blanks and not having my glasses on right now i thought that they were cakes you had been baking! well the colour looked like cakes.... hahahahah yeah i know... weird... put my glasses on and saw what ti actually was! ahhh what a giggle.
gorgeous snow man... love him...
well just another day at work... off to do some crafting or something.....
xx
Here I'm starting my day and you've already put your day in!!!
Hate the nights that you dream throughout...wake up and feel you've not slept..well I'm paying for not getting my hair cut, so must go fuss some with the curling iron..house is just so quiet this morning, almost eerie, it's just starting daybreak so I'll get into my routine 5:30-6:00am with Joyce Meyer and then 6:00-6:30 with Creflo A. Dollar ministries and that gives me 15 minutes to make sure house is nice and tidy for the painting girls today...talk when I get to the office...
morning all,
jeannine, lol im thinking of a garage sale have a lot of other stuff to get rid of
laura, want to come have a dusting party? lol
betty, lol do thease look familiar?lol
well the night kicked off with the final bang one of the dogs came in from the yard looking suspicious stayed away from me so i knew something was up oh i could of rung his neck started to play scoot i yelled at him only to find he had a issue and smeared it on the carpet why cant they just walk up to you and turn around to let you know whats going on...
mans best friend geez everyone have a good day liz
Dreary day here, overcast, rained part way in..traffic bumper to bumper so no stopping for breakfast...trying to decide if I can skip it or order my regular western sandwich..omg when I left for work this morning I couldn't stand the skunk smell..dog and Miss Riley did not get sprayed, but Missy nowhere to be found..let's hope she didn't get sprayed...am sure if she did the painting girls will call me at work and I'll have that to look forward to tonight...
Jeannine, as you still putting our resume's..no bites at all??? Is there high unemployment in your area..
if the boss comes in it won't be till noon so guess I might as well get some painting out to pass the time of day..hope you are up to something exciting today...
omg betty nothing worse hope missy didnt get it oh its awful i dont think i'll ever forget that,
you have the same weather as we do there talking about rain all week
Well the girls didn't call so unless Missy didn't come home she didn't get sprayed..just got some bad news though..Kyle (eldest grandson) has major difficulties with his eyesight..Greg took him to Sick Children's Hospital today for re-assessment..Dr. told him that Kyle is progressively loosing more eyesight..they are going to try and install a telescope in or on (not sure) so that it can zero in on what he's looking at and that possibly it can help strengthen his eyes...that's too bad, had hoped that the patch was helping but apparently not...
sorry to hear that betty... lets hope they find a way to improve things.
I hate dreary day... its harder to muster enthusiasm isnt it?
I think I'll pass on the dusting tho.... ROTFLMAO about the skid marks tho....ya gotta love em....
tho i only slept 6 hours it was solid sleep for a change.. nice...
uneventful days of work. nothing to report which is nice...still waiting to see what happens about the meeting with head office. they told me to get legal representation but i cant afford it. will look into a free service this week.
got my tests back... all clear!! no cancer!!! yay!
new lease on life.....
so off into the blue yonder for another day.....
have a good one...
xxx
I'm going to post my best/worse and what I did learn today early as it's off to bed...head is jumping off my shoulders-throb/throb...so bath and cozy into bed, try to set the alarm so I can watch dance with the stars..lol...
Best...bid on e-bay for a cross stitch quilt kit and won the bid..so, there will be part of mom's Christmas gift...that is a plus..and a visit from Greg and Kyle at the office this Sat. Greg said 'see Kyle, how nice grandma's office is..her t.v./dvd/craft supplies, knitting cupboard..doesn't she work hard...' Kyle just laughed, told him crafting pays well...
Worse...Kyle of course then this pain over my left eye and the throbbing..serves me right for not taking my time and watching what I'm doing...
What did I learn..on my way home I called Exilda (last Aunt that I was raised with) and she's doing fine but DH had a stroke a few months ago...but she didn't tell anyone as per her DH request...and her daughter who has fought cancer like a trooper for 15 years now has to go for bone marrow transplant..that's not good...so, told her I'd try to get in for a short visit over the weekend..about 45 minutes away but I'm sure I can squeeze it in...
So lovely people, it's off to bed I go...
evening all,
betty, saying a prayer for kyle hope they can do something for him with all this modern medicine now a days there bound to get to the root of it all, that was good news no skunk smell in the house, hope missy returned
i hope you do rest boy if i lived closer i'd be bringing you some soup then send you to bed
i'll be thinking of you, that will be a nice visit your aunt this weekend, bone marrow transplant now that dosnt sound to good
laura, great news on your tests such a relief for you, hope you can find some councel you feel comfortable with to discuss your case yep you just got to love those silly dogs.
best: no best today
worst: had a cutting class with 20 girls today, only a two hour class but the attitudes some of them had my boss went after one it was funny she didnt want to pay till after the class was done so my boss stampeded in the class and collected the money from her in frount of everyone, everyone looked at her, the girl sat there and rolled her eyes i thought i was going to die i was laughing so hard serves her right.
learned: my sis and cousin are at it again oh brother
everyone have a great evening liz
Laura....great news for you. Happy to hear that.
Liz, darlin....do you ever slow down??? I am breathless when i look at your photos, read what you write, hear all that you do......and everything with a smile. You would really be a joy to be around!
Betty....you should be sleeping soundly now....no more throbbing head, no more worries about Kyle, amazing things can be done for children with eye problems now, so let the doctors shoulder that burden for you. You keep your spirits up, and expect the best.
I have had a full day to day.....finished putting the final touches on the new show in the gallery. this is all funded by the fiscal court (county administration) and they are so impressed by the work and the ongoing shows that they are now adding additional lights so that the size of the show area will greatly increase. this show is he work of 3 local women artists, all really interesting and lovely ladies to work with....also a young man who does charkole drawings, excellent....and a young Native American gentleman, (Navaho, I think) who does beautiful jewelry, as well as bronze casting and carving.
all together it is a lovely show....will get some photos for you when we have the reception on the 27th......or maybe if I can find them, will post some of the individual work tonight.
You might enjoy seeing some of the artistic ability here in W KY.
after I finished the gallery it was off for another doctor visit, this one just to coordinate my meds since they added the new tummy one. It seems to be helping, though still have little or no appetite.
at least nothing hurts. I don't do pain quietly, .ladies, I do tend to lose my dignity when things start to ache and cramp.
So....best today.....finishing the gallery.
no worst, except being in the doctor's office for an hour plus the wait.
Learned......well, maybe patience isn't my strong suit....will have to work on that.
Looking for gallery photos now.....will send if I can find them on this overloaded computer.
this is another lady who does nothing but watercolor...and she says all her work is "God Inspired"......she is a sweet, but strange little woman. I have a hard time having a conversation with her, and am not sure why, since I usually never meet a stranger. anyway here is one of her inspired paintings......
It is fun working with other artists, but I tend to be more critical than I should be, so am working on that. I taught studio art for soooooo many years it is hard to set that part of me aside.
But as you will see when I send you some of the other work later in the week...it is a good show. The charkole work is beautiful, as is the bronze and the alabaster carving.
So have a good evening.......hugs to all of you.
shar, oh gosh im hidding in the corner blushing, thank you, no if i stopped i dont know if i would know what to do with myself lol we had a late dinner and i was painting a sign to put out at the collection of bird houses (rooms for rent) dh walked over i think he broke out in a sweat of panic he said we have rooms for rent i told him not us the birds...
like the paintings really like those coneflowers
Morning, cold out today but blue sky..calling for rain though later today and tomorrow...having a real Canadian fall!!!
Already taken meds twice..brought some along with me..if Paul comes in it won't be till noon, so will put my feet up, head back on pillow and have a rest..
Shar, just loved the photo's..all so colorful..set up is spectacular as is the artisans work..my favorite is the charcoal hands...wish I lived closer..girlfriend Marg called and she's in a show on Sat/Sun in Midland (10 min. away)not open to the public though ..does beautiful work although at 80 she doesn't think she does...a lot of her work is nature and animals...I'll have to get one from her for a keepsake...
Liz, you so make me laugh..can just see the expression on your DH's face.."rooms for rent" how funny is that... sounds like you've been having fun at work again..hear California had earth quakes last night or this morning..sure hope none of you DG members are not in that region or in any danger...does it worry you that they always predict some catashtrophy in Calf. re earthquakes??? I'd probably be fretting..always wanted to visit Calf. and it would be my luck that a quake would happen..lol..
Judy, now that you are all caught up, looking forward to your post...
Laura, wonderful that your results came back 'cancer free'...see that, prayers do work..
Dawn, have you seen the doctor as yet, worried about you...
Carol (Starzz) what are you up to, enjoying these last rain free days to get your yard in order..
Have to get DG police out and at it, Tangiegirl and Araness are missing in action...worried about both...any members or LURKERS if you've seen them on-line of late, could you let us know..absence of friends make us worry that something is wrong...updates please...
HELLO EVERYONE!
Wowwwie! I've so much to say just can't even decide where to begin.
So...I'll start with Man oh Man, I sure have missed you all.
Betty, Ouch...Are you ok today? I sure hope that bump in the head didn't put you out of commission. It's very late in the day and No Betty! Thats got me a bit worried...hoping you just got to a late start and are busy...will keep Kyle in my prayers....I've got to tell you, am Adoring that snowman plateholder, just incredibly cute!
Shar...how good to see you! Really glad you are feeling better. Your gallery is stunning with all the artists, my gosh that sandwich made me hungry...LOL so went to grab a bagel. I really like the charcole of the hand playing guitar, they are all wonderful, will enjoy inspecting them all day...How cute, you and Betty playing matchmaker, had me giggling.
Jeanine...Sweet family you have there. Glad you had fun at the Apple picking. Looked beautiful. Was glad to hear Murphy doing better too!
Laura, So Happy the results came back good...whew you got a weight lifted.
Liz, Liz...my girl! You are just incredible. Skydiving, always wanted to give it a try I am just to chicken...Love your kitchen, reminds me of walking into an antique shop. I could browse all day long. But geewiz can't say I envy having to clean all that. You have got a very cool collection, you are in rival with the House on the Rock!
THANK YOU. I adore all my tricks and treats. You are a sweetheart. I never seen a Halloween Ornament. Now I will have to get one of those spooky trees to decorate. and the hands, pumkins and candy corn sit real nice on my computer at work. Was such a nice suprise to come home to...sending you a d-mail..go see.
Well I know there were lots of conversation I am just so behind can't recall everything so will just say Hello to you all, Gillibean-hope you haunted house is coming along nicely, Ves-Loved your spectacular colors, Tropi-will check out you Art forum soon as i can catch a breath here., Hey Dawn...did you find us over here in #18. Gita, Starz, hoping you're all doing great!
Well i better get back to work...LOL I mean DO some work....P.S. I am going to see Van Halen tonight!!!! Yahoo.
So later will fill you in on me and my world. See ya.
Judy
Nice to see you post Judy, no I'm here, was trying to put my head back but just can't seem to settle in..maybe some fresh air at lunch will do the trick..I'll have to tell Jeff about the match making..always has mega friends (girls) ..he's so busy at work and his career i doubt he even notices that he's not dating..of course which girl would want to come second to a job???
Was talking to Tropicanna..she's been busy with her trades, GH, sick daughter and poor kittie got killed..so sad! will be nice to see her posting again..
Those Victorian Santa's here at the office need about 2 hrs. of work to complete them and I just can't seem to get ambitious enough to finish them..who know maybe this aft.
Paul just came in, he's not moving to quickly but at least he's here..and..it's celebrate "Boss" day here (perhaps in USA as well) told him that's the only reason he came in..got a smile from him..maybe we can take him out to lunch..doubt it though, he looks in too much pain and won't be here for too long....
Greg and Mel are leaving for Calgara tomorrow morning..still not sure what the plans are..last I spoke to Melanie I was getting the boys and their schedules lol and of course Sophie (puppy) but when Greg dropped into the office yesterday he wasn't so sure that her friend Kathy might not drop in to look after them so, guess I'll know when I get home tomorrow..she is flying out with him at 7am, when they arrive they are going to drive to Banff and spend the night, a friend works in one of the major hotels..they've a room that usually cost $600.00 per night for $130.00 so that's a bonus..the next day they'll go to Lake Louise and then to Calgary for the weekend..she flies back on Sunday and Greg stays for another week...hope weather co-operates as usually at this time of year they've snow..
Have to e-mail Jeff as I was suppose to bring the costumes in this morning for p.u. but forgot..better put it on my 'to do' list..old age settling in..getting forgetful..well, maybe I'll just blame this headache...
Was in bed by 6:30 last night..thought I'd doze off but kept getting call after call..but that's ok..how would friends know I had a headache..
Marg, who came to visit on Sat. called to say the court remanded the case till Nov.1st..not sure if I told you but she had to put her DH in a home - 2yrs this month and another lady from same village put her in..well they visit at least 3 times a week and spend all day with their loved ones..one day they found that they had been beaten by one of the male nurses so charges were laid and it's been in the courts now for nearly a year...yesterday they were to hear if he was found guilty or not..she called to say how upset she was that it was yet remanded one more time...let's hope he gets his just reward...Shar, she's the lady who is having an art show this weekend at an exclusive art gallery...you'd love her...
Then Darlene called just to check up on me as I hadn't called her in 2 days..she talked for about 1 hr..she teaches at my house on Mondays..so, called to tell me what they all did and of course how Moana not her real name..her name is Helen but she's always moaning away so we call her Moana acted all day..so funny, she comes to paint, wants all the attention and basically wants Darlene to do it all..George, our elderly painter just had eye operation, need hip operation now, just had heart operation and wants to paint/paint..he's been with me now for 6 years and has done some pretty fantastic pieces..then Lydia is making new batch of medicine for Sailor..she's a few hot spots and once I rub that medicine on her, it heals almost immediately..then many of them had plants outside that they were not sure of what to do with them..guess what's sitting in my basement..a truckload of plants..where I'll put them I don't know..I'll probably kill them with kindness so they won't be with me for long...
So, finally I'm ready to doze off and the telephone rings at 9:30..it's a gentleman who would like to join Wednesday evening painting classes with his wife..now I'll have 10 people which is quite a class when everyone is doing something different..thank goodness for the next 2 weeks 4 girls are doing same project..will take their class money and do Christmas shopping each week..so, that's a plus...
Well, as always, when I gab/gab it's because I'm tired, so now that I'm posting a novel I'll sign off for awhile..tummy is hungry..lunch from 1 to 2pm...be back later...
Just got back from lunch..tummy nice and full, enjoy Popeye Chicken!!!
Paul is being such a BEAR..know he's in pain and really shouldn't be here but gee whiz..go slowly, take things easy..it's Boss day today, girls edged me on so that when we came back from lunch, I told him we voted to give him the afternoon off because of 'It's Boss Day' PLEASE!!! He just laughed..they say I'm the only one he doesn't snap their head off...he's only part time this week because of Dr.'s appts. but one of our clients said that he told them we don't work Friday's..now is that HE doesn't work Fridays' or is he including us??? lol sure hope it's us as well...
morning all.
betty hope you boss improves soon, being in constant pain is no fun.
COOOeeeeee dawn, where you at??
not much to report which isnt a bad thing. work still the same. got a little down yesterday but soon picked myself up again. just not gooing to let them get to me if i can.
did some beading last night and made a few nice things... other than that... all quiet.
hugs to you all

Hi guys, I am fine and feeling slightly better, no chest pain and I now think the reason I feel so bad is a sinus infection. I will still go to the doctor though but not today and I have a Thank you to give to Laura, it's a big one and a timely one.
Greg and I went to see a movie in our truck today, the truck that has my reminder of my Guardian Angel on the mirror. Well about and hour and a half ago we were coming home on the 14 Fwy when the winds kicked up dust, like none I've seen for a while, immediatly we could not see the vehicles in front of us and as they completely vanished, I said to Greg that he needed to pull over and no sooner did I say that than he said, "Hold ON!".
Our breaks were screaching and you could hear the sound of impact after impact and breaks. We avoided the car in front but moved as quick as we could over to the center between the North and Southbound Freeway, Just as we moved, right next to a us another Semi came pounding into the semi next to where we had just been and it hit a van that was already hit by a semi and it hit a Sears Van and it hit a small mutilated car. After I heard no more screatches I jumped out to offer my CPR mask that I had on me but a lady said , "Don't go over there there are two dead people. Greg was honking and honking for me to get back in the truck and I paniced and realized that it was not safe to be walking around at this time so I got in the truck as heard the first ambulance. We crept at a snails pace along the center with some others and realized no maore cars were in front of us so we could go on very slow in our own lane. We were expecting that we may get hit head on from the cars wrecking in the other direction.
We immediatly Thanked Jesus and I thought of You Laura sending us that wonderful gift just last week. The news said the two are dead and two others are in critical condition +5 more injured. It is still blowing atleast 30 miles an hour so I`ll scratch my going to the doctor today. I am greatful to be able to say I don't believe the crystal saved us but it was a reminder of a prayer of driving safety from a dear friend.

OMG Dawn, thank God you and Greg are ok..you must be in shock...oh Lord, I've got goose bumps just thinking about it..no wonder Greg was honking..you wouldn't have been seen by oncoming cars.. now who is to say the Angel that Laura sent you wasn't looking after the 2 of you...I believe she was...how absolutely horrific ...oh Dawn, to think how close it could have been...I'll pray and thank the Lord tonight for his mercy..may those involved be under his care!!!
Laura, your kindness has kept our friends safe..thank you so very much for sending them the guardian angel!
Now you've got my adrenaline going...I'm just shaking...
Well it's that time of night..but before I go to bed I have to figure out what I'll do with Sailor, she has a hot spot larger than an apple that she's tore off the fur, it looks so raw..it was too late for the vets and I have to be at work early in the a.m. I had benedryl so I gave her a capsul in a weiner..will do same in the morning..also put some cream on it in hopes it will stop the itching..oh my, it looks so sore...any suggestions PLEASE...
I'll try to see if someone tomorrow can bring her to the vets..Liz, am going to check to see if I can find dog collar..hate to leave her with it on all day but might have to...
Here's photo..maybe that will help identify what I could do...
Off to bed I go..
Best of the day..hearing that Greg and Dawn are okay..thank you Lord...
Worse of the day..must be dealing with BIL..he's not ready to come back to work but insists he is, he'll be in for 1/2 day tomorrow...
What did I learn...that a friend Roy who paints in my class was going to move to BC but his dad had a major heart attack and isn't doing well, it will be a long recovery so his family have decided to stay until such time as his father has recovered...if he does recover...so sad..
Would a cortisone cream help sailor?? He probably would lick it off, but might help. Neosporin? Poor little guy, must be allergies.
take care, Betty...
Thankful you are OK, Dawn.....gives me cold chills to think about.
betty, we use to put on a anti itch ointment, then the doctor gave us this stuff we keep in the refrigerator oh wait i have to go get it, ok its called( tresaderm) asta will just rip his fur out just like that, its been so bad the doctor had to give him benedral i dont know why he does it theres no fleas, its like his skin just gets dry and then he justs go's to town.
he has gone as far as ripping the fur off his tail just a bloody mess knock on wood he hasnt done that yet this year oh i feel for you.
now lets see lots of ground to cover earthquakes well i was in the one in 1989 and it was a eye opener i decided to take a class with the red cross safty and survival in a earthquake so i am always ready for the next big one as ready as i can be.
i hope you get friday off to ,popeyes chicken lucky you love that stuff you have a full class wow i hope bil is feeling better boy i feel for you all at the office.
dawn, omg im so glad both of you were uninjured and yes it was lauras angel watching over both of you oh what a tragity for the two that didnt make it glad you made it home safe sleep well.
laura, glad things are good with you and look your lovely gift saved our dawn from tragety
well everyone have a wonderful evening liz
Was it on your news? It may be on the 11:00p.m. news. Don-t get me wrong Aunt B, but I mean I don't believe the angel itself helped me. I DO believe that the Angel is an answer to a prayer and a reminder that MY GUARDIAN ANGELS are on an extra vigile while we are driving now. Trust me, I know you all better put your angels in your cars fast. People wrecked in front, behind and next to us, including 4 semis and we hit no one and no one hit us. People had wrecked cars everywhere, a lot must have been towed or drove away with minor injuries, because there was a bunch missing from the news footage
It looks like Mange on your cat. Do you have sulfadene?
OMG dawn, that is a scary story! I am so very glad you are ok. nothing magic about the angel i know but made with a lotta love.... it is a reminder that we are cared about.
oh betty i sent you one too in your package, i hope it comes soon! where else could it have gone? If not, then the person who has it I give it to them freely no matter how they came by it and i will send another your way.
work was ok....quiet at the moment which suits me.
a headache today but that i get every month if you know what i mean. a few days and it will be gone.
gosh i look forward to coming here and seeing what you have all been up to.
LOVE YOU ALL!
x
It's early morning, quiet in the house, sounds of furnace is the only sound I hear...had a good nights rest but the remnants of the headache is still there..probably mixture between low ceiling weather conditions and bump on head!lol..tonight I have a big class so it will definately be a late/late night..then have the boys for 4 days ..that will be a treat!! Maybe a show and supper will be in order for Sat.
Well just checking in on you all..Dawn, what is the name of the paper in your area..maybe I can access it via computer..bet mentally the shock of walking away from this accident will hit you this morning..prayers for you and for the families of those involved in accident...
Just gave an anti-itch pill to Sailor and will rub area with salve before leaving for work..know I've a collar but right now can't locate it...I'll check a couple more places before leaving..
I'm driving in on my own this morning as Suzanne is dropping her car off in the city for her son at University to come up north later today for dentist appt. so want to leave early so that I can just keep within the speed limit and try and beat some of that traffic...did enjoy having coffee with you all this morning..talk later....
morning all,
good god dawn they just showed the accident on the morning news gosh you were lucky how awful it looked glad your ok
betty, i hope sailor is doing better did missy ever show up?
jeannine, how are things with you
tropicanna, sorry about the kitty hope your all doing better
laura, quiet is good! hope it stays that way for you at work how is your weather there now
well everyone have a great day liz
I have been busy! I'm still in shock over that! Have been reading and trying to keep up but of course won't remember half of it.
Sat. was so nice out. I cleaned the jeep out. That took forever. Then hosed down more pots and starter pots and trays. There went that day. But they can be brought in the hose this winter when needed and washed. I'm feeling so organized!
Sun. I started tearing out the insulation in the green house and washing the windows. Then DH figured out another way to cover the windows that is removable in the spring. Then started putting in new bubble insulation.
Mon. finished putting in the insulation. DH fixed the door so it set level again.
Tues. went to town in the morning. Overspent! Just regular stuff. Did some looking around. Came home did some stuff. So today it is back to work for 4 days. But I don't have to unload truck unless it comes in this afternoon!
Dawn how scary was that! I sat here kind of in shock. Now reading that I remember.
Liz I wouldn't like to do the cleaning either. Growing up my mom has a Bank collection and having to dust all them was a real pain. No wonder I hate housework and don't get any satisfaction out of it!
I'd better go and throw in a load of laundry.
You all have the day you need and I am thinking of all you even if I didn't mention you.
Betty you be more careful! I'm always bumping my head on the one shelf in the greenhouse.Ouch!
Laura I agree with Liz. Quiet is good!
Vicki, lucky you, a greenhouse..think your weather is similar to ours, which means you probably have to heat the GD...you must get so much satisfaction watching the growth into mature plants..would love one...I can only dream..had looked as one at Home Depot in the spring..think it was around $1,000. but looked a little flimsy to hold up under all that snow we get...great feeling being organized..I'm hoping to spend weekend on my 'make and take-1 day workshops' that are coming up..need to do prototypes...times is just a ticking...
Laura, I dropped in to post office this a.m. - can only access my mail box of course but there was a card for me to pick up a parcel..so possibly it will be my treasure...I'm just so excited...
Drive in this a.m. was heavy duty, another accident so I took back roads..amazed that I got here at 8:30 - 1/2 hr. early but of course I left over an hour early..will be on my own till 11:00 so maybe I'll nap..will be a long/long day today with classes tonight..should have brought my Eagle homework with me...I paint a little quicker than most, so had to pay $49.99 for wood piece at studio and probably would cost me $15.00 to make another..I'll do so before class and work on both..that way I'll have 2 pieces to give as Christmas gifts..lol...
Just noticed I forgot to turn of the micro-heater under my desk..yuk..lucky I still have an office to come to..didn't start a fire....
Dawn, bet your tummy is still turning...
Liz..Missy did turn up and no smell, thank goodness..couldn't find the collar for Sailor, gave her more anti-itching pill wrapped up in weiner (she tried to find it to discard it but ended up eating it) and put some ozinol (?) cream on her..guess if it hasn't improved by Friday I'll be taking her to the vets..same thing happens every year..they wanted to do biopsy last year and a few other tests, nearing $800.00 and then add in medication..well the old gal is nearing 10, not sure if I want to spend thousands on her....don't take me wrong, love her to death but at some point when they are having hip problems and other you have to make a choice..hope I won't for a few years but one never knows..
Morning all,
First off, Dawn, I am so glad you and your DH are ok. What a horrific experience. I am so glad ALL of your guardian angels were with you.
I'm sitting here checking out stuff on the internet and Murphy is literally in my face with a sqeaky ball!!! He is SO funny!
So I have about 24 hours before I am officially unemployed. I do have a couple of irons in the fire with my company so if by chance a miracle happens, I might keep my job. I have 3 interviews for one position tomorrow morning. Right after that, I am suppose to head over to my old dept and turn all my stuff in. I also just posted for a temp job as an admin. The BIG problem is, if I am severed before anything is offered, I am disqualified from them because they were "internal" postings and I will no longer be internal, I'll be external. Kinda stinks. Both postings know tomorrow is my last day. My DH made a good point of why would the mgrs who are interviewing me tomorrow waste their time (knowing it's my last day) if they weren't interested. I can only home!! Prayers needed!
I think I will call and get my nails and hair done today and spend some time sewing my new quilt.
I'll keep y'all posted on what happens!!
Cheers!
Jeannine
Jeannine, we'll all be praying for you sweetie...your hubby has a good point..wouldn't it be senseless to do so and if they need help why not hire someone they already know has the ability..am sure it will all work out...you'll be posting tomorrow telling us all about your new job..am just sure of it!!!
Now which quilt are you working on??? you just go through those quilts like there is no tomorrow...you love sewing so much, could you not try putting them on e/bay...I'm sure there is a demand...that way you could work from home and still bring in an $$$$$.....
Good for you, nails and hair done, you'll feel like a new person..won't your hubby be pleased to see a good looking woman at the dinner table, who knows, might take you out to eat to celebrate that new job...lol...
HA! Betty, you make me laugh! My DH would see me across the table and say - so how much did you spend on that? Just kidding but he's not the most observant person. I think if I shaved my head, he'd notice!!
I'm heading in this afternoon to talk to someone about the temp job.
As for the sewing, I am working on a neat quilt kit I got at the quilt show back in Feb. I'm making the "stars" now, then it should be a breeze to but it together after that. As for selling them, I could never get get the money worth the time I spend to make it. I just love creating them. Right now I have 4 things I need to get quilted. My DD quilt for her bed; a block of the month club quilt I finally finished last week from Joann's (I've only ahd the kits for about 3 yrs!); and the two wall hangings - Hobbes' head and the watercolor picture.
Great way to spend a day though..sewing...
I brought Caleb's and Braedon's costumes into the office today..finished putting hair on the face..so cute..anyway, Jeff will pick them up on his way home today!!! good luck with the interview, you never know, part time work can develop into full time...ask me..happened several times..one job lasted 20 years...omg I'm getting old...know about selling works of art..never, never get your $$$ out of them...got my fingers crossed...good news a coming..Laura was #1 - no cancer...Dawn was #2 - survived the wreckage..and you my dear will be saved from a boring life sitting at home..lol...right???
Tried to find more info on Dawn's accident...only found this ...
