Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends Pt18

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bed time, once again I'd like to thank you for visiting with me today..told my dear friend of 30 years all about you...she enjoyed the photo's and is pleased that I have you all to occupy my days!!!

Best..of course it must be Marg's visit
Worse..hearing of some friends from the Township that I worked with who are off on 'stress leave'...
What did I learn..not newly learned but brought back to reality..that true friendship lasts a lifetime...how fortunate I am...

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

I just pulled one of your zaps, wrote a short post and it just flat disappeared.....will try again.

Betty, we are all blessed to have you in our lives.

Dawn, please go have a checkup, shortness of breath is not something to be taken lightly.....please.

Hope you all have a great Sunday.....
and to all a good night.

well get to stay home today mil rubbed me wrong so im not going today, she exagerated and said because the banks are wet and the dogs look for the cats up there she said it took her two hours to clean up dog prints all over the house hmmmm on the deck i remember seeing them and racoon prints and cat prints but not on the hardwood floor..... and it would of just been so easier to say im having two people staying here from italy next week dont bring the dogs i dont want them running up the banks and besides i need a month break from her anyway lol

Oh Liz, after all you do for them...take that well deserved break and enjoy today..you did capture a bit of my area...the other day coming home on the back concession there must have been hundreds feeding in farmers field, ready for their flight south I guess...aren't they just a beautiful view.

Shar don't you just hate it when you type an entire novel only to find out it's in cybrespace...sure warms the heart to see you are back with us...are you managing to keep much of what you are eating down??

Woke up at 4:00 and almost got up, talked myself right back into a sleep..so, I've 2 loads of washing and ironing first thing this am..off to get my hair cut..store the garden art, get those hooks in for xmas lighting that I didn't get done because of plan changes, paint some on a project and that should cover today..now let us see what comes up to change my plans...lol...

It's a true Canadian fall day here, sunshine but colder than the dickens..heat is on ..hard to believe that last weekend I had AC on...imagine ...

Well of for coffee then a full day ahead...as always, will be in to check up on you lovely people during break time..have fun..

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Hello from sunny Virginia! It is absolutely a beautiful day here. We headed up to the mountains around 8:30 this morning - 30 mins later then I wanted to leave. We got to the orchard an hour later and it already had a lot of people there - but it was gorgeous up there!

We first had to take Murphy to the wooden apple to have his picture taken. We did this with Hobbes too so it was kind of neat being there now with Murphy. We headed over to the Stayman apples - which are my fav! I like Fuji too but they were in the opposite direction from the Staymans. anyway, we picked WAY TOO MANY apples! I think I have enough for about 100 pies. We probably had close to 50 lbs if not more. What the heck am I going to do with all of these!!!! If I was working, I'd take a bag in to everyone. I think I will be passing them out to all the neighbors.

We got back home and I started cleaning the apples I was going to use for the pie. I decided to use my pampered chef "peeler, corer, slicer" thingy to cut up the apples and in the process took off the tip of my pinkie! OUCH! This on the same had that I have a popped blister from raking yesterday. Thank goodness it's my left hand and I'm right handed!. Anyway, I guess I'll live!!!! The pies are in the oven and they smell quite nice. I will have to send DH out later for some vanilla ice cream. That lazy butt is out on the hammock sleeping!!! MEN!

Well, here are a fews pics from this morning. I'll post later! Enjoy!

Jeannine...now tell me why did you want to leave 30 minutes after you arrived???lol
great picture of the kids and Murphy..did DH not go with you?? hammock sleeping sounds restful..perhaps he needed his rest...hmmm Your children are just so adorable...give them a hug for me...

I can smell those apple pies..took out a blueberry pie yesterday when Marg was here..she ate about 1/12th of it because she has health problems now the other 9/10th guess where it has to go..either me or garbage...

I've been playing between inside and outside..all the hooks are ready to hang the christmas lights..think now I'll wait until end of month but the hooks sure will make things easier..because last Oct. I injured my right arm/wrist..had to take a lot of breaks because it's paining..so, painted on the little wooden snowman holding a plate..was around the house singing Christmas songs if you can believe it..must be because as Recreational Co-ordinator for so many years I had to be one complete season ahead of the game in planning and developing programs/i.e. Santa Claus Parades in 3 communities, Children's Christmas parties, Volunteer appreciation awards and dance, New Years Eve Dance plus regular activities, old habits die hard..my daughter in law dropped in, just shook her head and off she left thinking of Halloween NOT Christmas..

Now in between the hooks, the painting, I've been putting things away until I got careless, the deck is about 6' underneath by about 26' covered in, excellent storage area for summer things, door though is about 4' x 3' wide she you have to bend down a bit to get in, not a problem because I'm only 5' BUT guess who forgot that once you come out there is still about 2 1/2 feet of deck above..bang/bang/head hurts, not slit open but sure is throbbing..so, back inside, put spaghetti on and fresh rolls in the oven and see if I can't burn it...then I'll rest for a bit and see if I can't do a little more..can't bear to put everything away at once so will leave some for next weekend...Think what it is Jeannine, we have about 20 projects lined up and want to get them done, so it's hurry/hurry...not being careful enough...

I even received a couple of calls for work today..one is a lady who is not very nice EVER ..anyway, she wanted to talk to Cindy..I explained that Cindy would be in tomorrow and I'd take her name and number and have Cindy call her..she wanted to speak with her 'today' so explained again that it's Sunday and nobody was in..that I had transferred the phones until tomorrow...she told me that she had left numerous messages and none were returned (highly doubt that) but gave her the benefit of the doubt, explained that last week Cindy make numerous attemps to drive her dad in because he was unable to drive himself and had to return home several days that she did try, she went on about that then she told me she wanted a call before 9:30am so I explained that because boss (Paul-BIL) has been away ill for almost the entire last 2 weeks that he would try and come in BUT that would require Cindy to drive him in after therapy and she would not arrive until noon...well, now all hell broke loose, wanted to know what kind of business we were running (she knows we're a small family business) that I was giving her a lot of bull and she wouldn't stand for it...well, I COMPLETELY LOST IT!!! Told her until she learnt some manners that she wasn't to call back..that I am not in the habit of scamming people, that when illness puts one of the staff out of commission for so long, we all try to pick up slack and do the best we could...so, told her I'd not continue the conversation and hung up..2 minutes later, telephone rang again, I let it go to voice mail where she did not leave a message..WITCH!!! I pride myself in being courteous, helpful and show much empathy to those in need..boy did she rub me the wrong way, and guess what, I hadn't even banged my head at that point...lol
both Paul and Suzanne know how insulting she is most times so I'll not get into trouble..Paul always says, do what you must..and so, I did!!!

Laura, you ask me 'do I get snow'...well sweetie, we snowmobile, often there are 5 to 7' snowbanks in the yard..make an ice rink also for skating when I have the energy..much to do, looks so pretty, too bad the cold has to go with it...so yes, I do a lot of shovelling although I have a snow plow contract and the double driveway is done when needed..

well, better go check on things, give my head a shake in hopes the trobbing stops..I really am an accident waiting to happen, just like my friend "Jeannine" lol..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Opps..sorry almost forgot Dawn...hey girl, no more playing around..that's not something that you just assume you know what is happening...we always think that it's mostly men who have heart-attacks but they are saying that women let these things go far to often and they are indeed of urgent medical care..so off you go...get Greg to drive you..better safe than sorry!!!

OMG no wonder you are tired...it's so unique..love it..now do tell, how does hubby feel about all your treasures...now that's country..you should be giving tours..between the Halloween set-up and your country style home...sure wish Jan was around to appreciate the beauty...wouldn't same look nice..probably is decorated much as yours...gee whiz, sure do miss her..if only I knew she was ok..I do worry about her..just not like her to drop off the end of the world without a word..last word 'I fell' still praying that she'll come on line...

Here I thought I had trinkets...everyone laughs at my little cafe..fake food and all..well at least you can't burn the fake food now can you...when I moved here much of my tinware and cooking utensils went to antique shop..think you've encouraged me to go get them..lol..oh no, more dusting...

When I purchased this home they had the laundry room in a little area off the kitchen, well I moved them downstairs and made a laundry room..did put my computer in that area for awhile but just didn't like it, so downstairs I came and tried to make a little country cafe...

now remember, I just didn't cook, all this is fake food..that I collect..
those who can cook 'do' those that can't..well, 'fake' will do...lol

I know, as though we don't have enough work on hand with regular cleaning..
Sure don't have as much as you, but do enjoy the 'country feel' of my home...

Good God, Liz!!!!

You are on a decorating--accessorizing--cluttering in the name of decorating-- overload!!!!!

How on Earth do you ever deal with all this??????????????

I am overwhelmed just looking at all your pictures! And to think you have to clean or dust all that every now and then? MAN!!!!!

Have you ever delved into the reason you HAVE TO do all this???

Whew! Gita

Victoria Harbour, ON

Laughing at Gitta's post...I personally think I'm an old spirit who wants to maintain their heritage...have to have some kind of excuse right???

Well just incase I don't make it back downstairs I'll do my post for tonight..so enjoyed joining you today..Jeannine - your outing was spectacular, Liz well only one thing..can I come and live with you??? now wouldn't that drive DH insane..you and I collecting these items...

Best..because I decided to forgo my trip to Midland to get a haircut and lumber I was able to achieve almost everything on my list of 'to do's'

Worse..sitting here with splitting headache..almost knocking myself out..even my eyes are unfocused...good night sleep will cure that!

What did I learn..I'm not the only one with a fetish for 'country'..I've a friend who can outdo mine..but just you wait Liz..I'll beat you at 'Christmas'..I am so laughing...

Do have a wonderful night...

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)
