Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor XVII

They point toward Stony Point but this weekend they were pointing to East Hartford. They are Victor tracking shrubs.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool - could have used them since my GPS led me to one dead end, told me to turn left into a house and had me going in circles. The shrub direction system can't be worse.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Congratulations to Harper!! One of her beautiful tulip photos made it into this weeks' newsletter!!

NE forum is #1 in talk - again! My computer is in the shop and I have my fingers crossed but am prepared for a new motherboard. I'm sure that the hard drive is fine - really - all my pictures are there and my up-to-date address book.

Seandor - I'm an adjunct - I use my own computer - but they do give me free MS Office applications since that is what I teach. I keep my current class files on my flash drive that is double chained to my car and house keys - my older files are on a flash drive at home (the one with Wallingford's tooth marks on it!). I also send files to my gmail account to store. I love gmail!

Hopefully I will hear this afternoon when I will get my computer back. Until then, it is either write from work or the library. This is one time where it is good to have two jobs!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My flash drive has a tiny raincoat over it.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

How do you figure out who's #1 is posts? Anyone ever heard of Brighter Blooms, the plant company? Since wintersowing, I invented a company called Mrs. Sprout's. It was going to be a nursery, but I was advised by the state that it had better be a landscaping company! It exists only on a few pieces of paper with mySS# on them. We were all laid off for the winter. Kassia, you didn't hear any of this. I'm not trying to make sense.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Whoops, i mean, we were all laid off for the SUMMER!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Memory - I remember that song about you "Adjuction junction, what's your function?"

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Candyce, I am? I did? Yippie! I gotta check it out. Thanks for letting me know!

Harper

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I said it on another thread as well. I'm getting suspicious. Both you and another DG person I know had photos on Bloom on your birthdays. Maybe a nice gift?

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I asked Terry if they did that on my birthday on purpose. I'll let you know what her response is.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Hmmm. Yup, you're right, victor. I can't remember who else that happened to,or for, lol - but I remember that it happened. Hmmm. With 3 bazillion members, they can't do it for everyone!

x, c

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I'm honored.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

(And if they do a general search for all the members, or subscribers, who have submitted pretty pictures, I'm not sure they'll find anything from me they'd WANT to use on bloom.com....)

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Harper - Congrats!! You SHOULD feel honored!

Dave - how nice that you are your daughter's biggest fan.......bet that means a lot to her!! Glad she did well!!

I'm making too much ordinary sense here........I need more chaos!! Sorry!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Yankee, Admitting you're an adjunct is the first step in the recovery process! Good for you!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Addict + Junkie =

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Victor!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Not Adjust + Junk?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not academic enough.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Watch out you wiseacres - they say I will have my computer back on Wednesday!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Step-motherboard ready?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I'm a step-mother - watch what you say about us!!!!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

And a new CPU! Faster and better and beyond!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I think adjuncts must be TRULY dedicated educators - nobody else would work so hard for so little. I suppose some people prefer to work part-time, but most adjuncts I have met feel exploited and would prefer a tenure-track position - complete with new laptop and numerous other benefits.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I'd take an old laptop.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Some colleges give you a laptop for attending - they know how to appeal to students, all right!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I hate to butt in here and say something totally sane....I'll work on coming up with something off....but I just returned from a breathtaking vacation to the New England states as a "Leaf Peeper". I want to tell you that you have NO idea how lucky you are to be having the colors going on that you do right now. Our trees, turned brown and dropped leaves...no color. :o(

Thank you for sharing with me....I'm betting I'll be going Northeast a LOT now!

Glad you enjoyed your trip here Joyce! We are very lucky to have our colors. Feel free to join us on the Forum anytime!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Beautiful picture, joyce. I live so near Boston that I have yto go on line to see stuff like that.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/780521/ check this thread. I spent two years in OH but I was like 7 and 8 or 8 and 9 and the bad parts were having to switch schools and having the Hocking (?) River flood on my birthday.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

And as victor (or is it Al) says, everyone is North East of somewhere!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Thanks Joyce. We like it too.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

NorthEast of sanity I am he said.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Hiya Joyce!

I'm so glad you made a trip to our neck of the woods. And I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the spectacular colors of our area.

Now, the next time you come, you MUST let me know, as I have an extra bedroom.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Candyce...how nice of you!! Actually, my DH's Bro lives in Eliot and his Sis has a vacation home in Prospect Harbor. So we didn't have to stay in hotels except on the way one day and on the way back one day. (Guess I need to find a gardener in New York for that!! :o)

If anyone is interested in some of the highlights of my trip, I have posted it in the ORVG's forum.

Thanks all for the welcome!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh Joyce .... we're all family here. Right?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Getting too sensible. I would like to say a few words:

Rutabagas, persimmons, cogitation

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I'm back!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)
