Oh gosh too funny. I really did laugh out loud.
Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor XVII
Hope you didn't piyp!!
Even Mr. Ed had that problem? Wilbur!!!!!!!!!!!
has Mr Ed posted here? I don't recognize him
....Good Morning Baltimore, everyday's like an open door, ever sounds like a symphany....
oops...sorry, wrong thread.
hee hee hee hee heee!!
Three guess where I am right now.
The packages from Amazon arrived! These are our latest purchases of used books from the Richard Sharpe series. The first book published in the series was Sharpe's Eagle, but since then the author has written a bunch of sequels, so that altogether there are 21 books in the series.
So we were able to start at the beginning of Sharpe's story (even though it was one of the more recently written books)
Anyway, DH reads aloud to me in the evenings while I either (1) clean seeds. (2) make paper pots, or (3) plan gardens!
The Sharpe series is about a soldier who raises from the ranks to become an officer in the British Army. The story starts in India in the late 1700s, then continues in Europe through the Napoleonic wars. Rippin' yarns!
Michaela:
have you ever read "The Kent Family Chronicles"? Same idea as the Sharpe series, yet it follows the Kent family from England before the US Revoltion all the way up to the 20th century. I loved that series and still have every copy of the series.
I was going to say .....
I'm so sorry, Dave47
I don't get it.
Yankee: 1. you're at the grocery store 2. You're on the potty 3. You're chasing Wallingford around the house with a wet noodle
Harper, I think Candyce is referring to the Yankees. Funny that the next word you typed was 'Yankee'!!
Nope - I'm at work!
Oh Victor ... you are so smaaahhhttt!!
Go Indians! I mean Native Americans!
Not so fast, Victor.
I'm rooting for a Rockies vs. Indians World Series. Nice to see someone who hasn't won win.
What do you do when your state loses its symbol?
What do you mean?
The great natural granite outcropping that resembled a face in profile is the state symbol for New Hampshire. It fell down a couple of years ago.
Oh yes I know. Aren't they trying to rebuild it? We love NH. Stayed in the Lincoln area a few times. Great hiking.
Since this is not supposed to make sense....then this will fit right in.
Most of you know I had to send DS GF, Mallory off to California last week and it was very hard for me & my son. We have encouraged her to follow her dreams and to be honest I am very proud of Josh as it meant seperation. He did it anyways because he just wants her to be happy and not stay for him. He knew she would resent him for it some day so he encouraged her to go. Well she left, 3 day there she was miserable and homesick...we told her to stick it out and she would be alright once she got used to it. Day 3 we start vomiting, day 4 still V and now running a low grade temp. Go to infirmatory....nothing wrong. Day 5 still sick, Doc says she is literally homesick. (not laughing) Today, booked a flight home for tonight, she is not vomiting anymore and fever is gone.
How bizare is that???
Wow! Feel bad for her. Never heard of that. Best wishes to her.
Victor, I have heard of it.....not telling her but I did the same thing once. The difference being I was 2 and missed my Daddy. We were only in Conn. but I got the same symtoms and 2 hours after I was w/my Dad again they were gone. My Mother refused to take me anywhere for a very long time after that!
Oh yes - I've heard of it in kids but not adults. I guess it's just too radical of a change.
Very radical for a girl who lives in the country and hops into the middle of L.A. She's only 18 and very much needs her hugs and kisses still...it was just to much to fast I think and she wasn't as ready as she thought she was.
Couldn't she find a similar program closer to home?
Yes, she already called about transferring but won't be able to start until Jan. now.
If it weren't for your plumber, you'd have no where to go
Okay - now I am sick again . . . good thing I have my annual check-up tomorrow.
sorry you are feeling sick
Schools are germ factories.
hem - there's a hairspray thread? where?
: )
Actually, DH had this during the summer - he was sick for about 10 days - then felt fine - then had a relapse. I was quite smug that I hadn't gotten sick - but, you are right - teaching this many freshmen is just inviting trouble. The miracle is that thus far I have avoided mono. Every year it seems that 20% of the freshmen come down with this. go figure.
There's the flasher that lives next door,
there's the drunk on the barroom stool.....
they wish me luck on my way to school...
I love that soundtrack. Loved the movie and I can;t wait to see the play (Although Wicked will be next)
