Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor XVII

No, I agree with Debi - if they're on TV ten to one they know they're on TV and can take appropriate countermeasures, ie false eyelashes, push-up bras, whatever's necessary. If they're actually there in person, such countermeasures are likely to be unsuccessful.

Yep, Dave, the Giants seem to be getting their act together and Eli is starting to play more like his big brother. But I don't see either Manning getting past the Pats!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Nyah-nah-nah-Nyah-nah!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

This is interesting reading!! Eleanor

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

How long since you've stopped in, Eleanor?

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I stop in once in a while but haven't posted - can't figure out what's going on but I guess I'm not supposed to make sense of it. Eleanor

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Well the Pats are DOOMED if I start rooting for them - so what's it worth to you Patriot fans to have me root for some other team????

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

A fun time for New England sports-nuts that is for sure, except that they wrecked basketball. We invented it and the rest of the country killed it, can't stand to watch anymore. Three point shots, rim hanging (used to be goal tending), traveling every time they dribble (used to be palming the ball), crummy jump shots from most and no body can really dribble a ball any more. All flash and dash and no artistic athletic discipline required. Just my opinion of course, old and set in my ways I guess. I also hate the DH in baseball but it doesn't totally wreck the game. More good skate control and less glove dropping would make hockey tolerable again too. Congrates to the Red Sox (now I can get some sleep) and go get 'em Pats!

I used to watch NASCAR but not now. It has gotten so commercialized it's not fun to watch. Not like the good old days - the guys must go to school just to learn how to talk. So Seandor root for every team but the Pats.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good points ngam. Don't forget greed, drugs, cheating, selfishness, etc. Try to bring a family to a game. The cost is on par with a Broadway show!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

There are a few 'good ole boys' left in NASCAR. Since the 'sport' has gotten so expensive, we kinda need all those commercial things to pay for the sponsorships.

I miss the old days, sometimes, but I really like the innovations that have been brought to the sport in the past ten years or so. Those innovations have made our highways a lot safer, too.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Could Johnson or Gordon win any more races???? I can't stand the C.O.T. and the coverage on ESPN/ABC.............. B O R I N G!!!I am so disappointed in NASCAR.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Well, the C.O.T. will be the car of next season, so I hope they get all the bugs worked out before February. And, I really like how FOX covers a race.

Now, back to the ramblings ...

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I don't understand..... I must be in the right place.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Boogity, boogity, boogity!!!!!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Now that, I understand!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Okay - so one vote for me to root for any team EXCEPT the Patriots. I think there is a team called the Steelers - should I root for them?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Root beer, or sarsaparilla, just not cream soda.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

not if it makes them lose (for my DH)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I once dated a gy who was a Green Bay fan - you could cheer for them!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

My C.O.T. is the one I have today ;)

Green Bay has lots of fans, Arizona is paying pretty good for supporters.

Maybe NASCAR will race in England, of course they would have to make right turns only there.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Why not? They already race in Mexico and Canada.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

And maybe Japan, would make aToyota real happy.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Meant to say "toyota" not "a toyota"

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Feel old to remember when Toyata and Datsun first came on the market here.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I had a Datsun pickup truck! The shocks were so bad I went back to wearing a b-- - well - um - turning beet colored - you know.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

HEE HEE!!!!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Zero to rust in 60 days too.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

A C.O.T.??
Back to wearing a b...
NOW i'm getting cofused.

By the way sports fans...NASCAR is not a sport. It may be difficult and challenging but it's still operating machinery. It's demanding to be a crane operator too!

ngam, if you long to watch basketball played the right way, watch the women's game. Particularly Uconn Women. John Wooden is a fan of how they play. Te majority of them are on the Dean's list, they don't get arrested, and they stay 4 years and graduate.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Don't feel bad Dave, I'm right there with you in the dark. Oooh, Dave, that tickles!!!!

x, C

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Too much!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Too much what, Davie-poo?

(batting eye-lashes)

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I'm in the dark too. I just can't, as hard as I try, think of car racing as a sport. I tolerate horse racing because it's only 2 minutes at best and it takes extreme athletes to complete the course...human and equine. Of course there is golf...................................... : ~)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Read between the lines, people. The only real athletes left are women!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Left handed women! - that sounds scary. I'll remember that for my Halloween costume next year.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

For my DH's 50th birthday I took him to the Michigan Speedway and he drove a formula 3 car. Probably not a sport, but he said it was tough to do.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Wish my wife wasn't afraid of Formula 409.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Are you afraid of it too Al?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Carrie, lol, I think you're getting a bit carried away. You should see my coach. He's all athlete and NOT a woman....ooh la la..he's so hot he sizzles..........ssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I was using Spic and Span until the PC age came about.
