Golly, the guys on this thread are (how do I put this?) well, such GUYS!
In Boston, people who in May/June thought Pedro Martinez was still on the Sox are, by now, quoting batting stats for pinch hitters and explaining the designated hitter rules to out-of-towners. When the Red Sox win the World Series, everyone in Massachusetts is a fan. Some of us even have been to a home game - when I was a young warthog and my Dad could afford tickets!

LUNCH!!!!!!!!
(Blowing whistle furiously)
Okay - when are professional teams going to get with it and understand that if they want to win championships, they had better pay me to root for the other team! Teams I root for ALWAYS lose!
Michaela, you're from Boston now, you root for the Red Sox. You weren't rooting for the rockies, were you? (Glowering!)
Of course! I am from the West - . . . . you did want the Red Sox to WIN, didn't you? I mean, if past experience holds, if I had rooted for the Red Sox, they would still be swilling the champaigne in Denver, celebrating the Rockies first World Series victory.
So, I think you should thank me, Carrie, for supporting the West - and not glower at all :-)
Well, Michaela, I thank you very much!!
Thanks Candyce, it's nice to be appreciated. lol
They wouldn't be toasting the Rockies! They would be flying home getting drunk on single malt scotch as fast as possible. But, we do appreciate all the little people who made this victory possible -- so thanks, Michaela!
Hey . . . happy to do my bit . . . :-)
And we appreciate your it. I mean your bit.
And your wit.
Could the women please stop talking sports! You're such guys! ;^)
Who to root for tonight? Like them both.
Not a big football fan, but I did go to the biggest victory in Uconn football history Saturday. They are ranked for the first time. Exciting game.
I have to go wash my hair!
DH, who has 3 DSs (and 1 DD) odf his own, calls my DDs #1 + #2 "the son I never had". LOL.

For the NE Bosox fans, here was my bit of torture for the Yankee fans. I was babysitting Sat night for my brother's children. My brother is a DIEHARD YANKEE fan, therefore hating the Bosox. The game was on the big tv and as I explained the colors (rockies black, bosox red) I also taught him a key phrase. If you want a craison, what do you say?? It took 4 hours but he finally got it down. "Red Sox are best" My brother is going to kill me, so if I mysteriously vacate the forum, call the cops. My brother did it :~)

I can guess who Al's rooting for. I'm a Jets fan so I'm already waiting for Spring training!
I assume, Victor, that you'll be waiting for the Pennington replacemnt announcement for spring training.
No I meant baseball Spring training!
You're diabolical, Venu!
xx, Carrie
Hey, you sporty guys and gals!! Here I am in Red Sox Spring Training Land, knowing for sure now that our spring training tickets will be harder than ever to come by this year! We generally go to 4 or 5 games to scout out the new talent on the team, and it'll be a challenge to get tickets now! Our SIL in Colorado is a huge Rockies fan, so it has been a fun season's end this year!
I guess we'll all have to switch gears to football. now......even in the 90 degree temps here!! My high school's football team sends a lot of guys to the pro's, so we take in some Friday Night Lights here too. The atmosphere at those games is really fun.
Thanks for not behaving too much in my brief absence! It would have been so disappointing to find zero threads to watch from my distant perch here! LOL
maybe carrie:~) but if I was a Jets fan I would look forward to spring training. If I was a Pats fan I would look forward to the ring. I don't think anyone is going to stop the Brady team
Don't get cocky! There are some other good teams out there - even ones without cameras!!
He can win w/o the dumb cameras. Huh.

I'm a Giants fan, but realistic.
Favre is classy, so I am rooting for Green Bay.
I like Far - vra also.
I think I'm rooting for Favre (with a nice glass of chianti) too. I like Brady & Peyton Manning too.
Venu, 6 in a row for the G'ints! Gotta be psyched, no?
But I do think it will come down to the Pats or the Colts again.
Favre's wife is hot too.
Debbie (Debi?) You're into sports and appreciate hot women? You're like the ideal woman.
I never saw Favre's wife. Will have to check her out. Yes, I agree with Dave, Deb! And you like gardening! My wife has negative interest in sports.
My wife will casually follow sports. She did annoy me recently at our sons soccer game when she asked the score and I said 4-2, she asked how many we had - duh! 4 Then again she just realized that the home teams are listed on the bottom in the sports results.
How's that feel Denver!
baseball. i like baseball.
football - blech.
rugby was interesting to watch when i was in NZ. love seeing the All Blacks do the haka before games.
Okay - so given my track record, what's it worth to the members of NE forum to keep me from rooting for the Patriots????
I will take seeds or live plants lol
I have edited this to say I will also accept cuttings.
If your favourite team is NOT the Patriots, you might want to try to outbid the Patriot fans - I am willing to root for the team designated by the highest bidder - that way the team is doomed to lose :-)

I can cook too!!
Deana Favre was in the anouncers booth last night, she looked really pretty, and seemed really nice too. It's easier to appreciate hot women on TV than the girl next door.
I appreciate them on the tv or the kitchen table - I'm not picky.
You like hot women on your kitchen table . . . . ummmmm . . . that leads to all sorts of interesting images! Does your wife know?
That's adorable, Cat!
