Debbie - thanks for that link.....I like it and made it a favorite on my computer. I was surprised that it isn't limited to the mid-Atlantic area.
Nor'easter in October????! Oh My!!
This was a great morning to clean up the veg. garden. My DH and I double-teamed the gallant soldiers and pulled all the plants except the peppers out in preparation for rototilling to be ready for spring planting. My peppers are huge but haven't changed color yet. Only one has a reddish tint coming. I think I need more sun! Those suckers are about a foot long! I've been picking a few to use them as green peppers as needed. I forgot to check the temp exactly, but it was 50 degrees at 7:30 when we walked.
At the moment it's 58 degrees and overcast....much rain tonight.....gotta run out and dig the rest of my caladiums before they get soaked.
Today's Weather in Your Garden 3
Lucky you! I haven't used the word soaked in a while - at least not in a weather context.
Have you been non-weather soaked lately, Victor? LOL
Probably by the IRS
On the right track Candyce - local property taxes.
LOL!!!
Yep!! It's bad here, too!
How about an almost 100% increase in two years?!
Lucky us just has the tax adjuster come last week, my taxes will be higher next year now. One of the reason's I won't pave my driveway and why I have brick for a chimmeny outside but pure fieldstone fireplace inside. At first I hated the idea.....taxes are 1200.00 less this way so ive learned to like it. (grin)

Hey! what is this? Barometer going up again (29.67↑) and the little sun flashing on my weather station! Don't tell me it missed us again!
* Of course property taxes are high here, we have elementary schools with enough of a field for a Boeing 767. They just installed (4) 100ft high intensity lights in my local HS with state of the art speakers, (they've got press boxes 'on the burner' as well). I figure they take 90% of the taxes. Guess who pays their property tax? Don't forget the fire departments all have to have their own shiny racing cars too! (for morale of course). Any wonder the kids cant make change out of a dollar for 97cents without a computer?
Good planning!
I hear you WC! And I'm still waiting for the rain too!
Oh, Man.....I can relate to that! Raining here now.......same for you, Candyce? I'd send you some, Victor, if I could! Maybe you'll get some soon....it sounds like it's going to be pretty wide-spread over the next few days! Hope so for everyone's sake!!!
Our barometer is going down.
It's beginning to drizzle, but not yet rain.
Still in the 60s though
I'm starting not believe in rain anymore.
Stop the presses! Just heard thunder!
WaterCan - I hope the rains come for you too......!
Yes - a bona fide downpour! Let's see how much we actually get out of it.
Thunder, Victor??? Oh, no..........I'm waiting to get bumped off the internet with this darn Wild Blue........a few drops of rain to our west and I'm dead meat for hours! But at least it may mean good news for you guys in NY state!!
No down pour.....could flood, but a nice steady rain from now until 8am is wished for all of you this evening.
Hooray Victor!
Can I breathe now?
Thanks DonnieBrook, I've got my fingers crossed...
Thanks Celeste - yes slow and steady is better so it doesn't run off. Good timing - I planted quite a few plants today.
Louise - that's why I dropped DirecTV.
Yes Candyce - exhale! Thanks.
You're welcome!
No option here if you want tv or internet, Victor.....most unfortunately! We have Directv for television, but it never seems to be a problem like the Wild Blue internet is. I just couldn't deal with dial-up. I tried to, but it was just torture when I was trying to pay my bills online.
WaterCan - do you have rain yet??? And how about you, Eleanor???
We're getting a decent soaking (the good kind).
Nothing here yet. A few very light sprinkles today but nothing that kept me inside. I'm really hoping this is the real thing and we get rain tonight and tomorrow.
'Ain't nothing like the real thing!'
I'll announce it if/when it happens here.
I haven't been watching this thread BUT I'm stopping in to say we officially turned on the heat for the winter - it's already too cold for me out there - which is another reason dahlias are wasted on me. I need summer flowers. It's also why I had to have Quick Fire Hydrangea - I can't wait!

Stormed here around 6:00 or 7:00 and it is still raining. It's been quite a heavy rain so it should do some good for this area. Eleanor
Still raining steady here as well.
O-M-G...........yes it spread here too. Rain, sweet rain. And it's nice rain. Steady, not downpouring and washing out drought sticken plants. If it rains like this all night it will be like a couple of lawyers at the bottom of the sea. A nice beginning. (absolutely no offense meant to any esquires at the NE forum:~)
Hee hee. See how the rain makes us drought-stricken people giddy?!
My garden looks much better after the inch of rain we got yesterday.
I'm praying for 6 inches....ooops wait nevermind. It stopped.
OOOoooooh, It started again....yes, I'm giddy. I hear thunder too!! Yay! I've been booted twice, how nice.
Yes - still coming down nice and steady / heavy here. Finally!!!!
Rain starting now at 10:34... TG! hope it lasts for a long, long time to make up for the entire month of None.
It was raining as I drifted off to sleep and it's still much too dark to see how much we got. Now 59 degrees with crickets still chirping.
