Hopefully I'll get to my JM's tomorrow and the weather will be nice.
Is this thread getting slow for anyone yet? Please let me know.
Today's Weather in Your Garden 3
Still have a Wiegela and a rhododendron I have to plant, have'nt decided where yet but I'm running out of time fast. I think the pace of the thread will change like the weather, in bad weather it will be fast in good weather it will be slow.
No, I meant how fast it's loading for the remaining dial-ups.
lol!
Just came in from mowing the lawn, it's getting dark, when is it that we turn our clocks back anyway?
First Sat in Nov. They gave us a whole extra week in the Fall!
Interesting.. ! Sounds good to me.
Just got my property tax rebate in the mail today, filled out the form last week online, that was fast! Seems all the politicians are getting on the rebate bandwagon. I hope that wagon stops by again next year too!
It's a little bit warmer here tonight than the last couple of nights.....48 degrees at the moment. Today was chilly and breezy. I just couldn't stand the thought of letting my pineapple sage and my rosemary bite the dust when we leave, so I dug 'em up and wrapped them to go south........hope I didn't do it too early, but I was afraid they'd get nipped before we leave. So far....LOL....I have an orchid, a Thanksgiving cactus, 3 daylily babies, a sedum-like plant with blue flowers (not sure of its name), 2 amaryllis's, pineapple sage and rosemary.......no room for suitcases this trip!! LOL
WaterCan - I love that picture of the clouds! When I was a kid, we would leave the heat of Fla. behind and head up to the NC mountains for the summer. When we would get into the mountains/clouds my sisters and I would hold envelopes out of the car windows, capture the clouds, seal the envelopes and sleep on the cloud! LOL
Gorgeous pics, Eleanor! It already felt good to be outside instead of stuffy inside. Then I forgot my DG apron and got FILTHY digging up amaryllis bulbs. Fun filthy, though.
x, C
Oh, and Eleanor, I hit the send button too soon.....your pics were so pretty. The mallards are so colorful, and is that the Hudson in the other pic? Lovely shots!!
Pretty Eleanor!
Thanks DonnieBrook
And thank you for sharing that story about you and your sisters, that was very nice and moving.
Glad you escaped from Florida too! So did I ! (No offense to our Florida viewers). I just couldn't get used to that heat and humidity. Christmas was so strange with decorated palm trees! Lived in Fort Laud 5 yrs never experienced that much heat before, (except for the Mojave). - there's no place like home... (for me it's NY).
* Gotta run, late din-din tonight, busy Monday!
Temp 54.1°, Baro 29.91 steady, rh 66%, Wind NW 0.0

Thanks for the comments!! The duck is in the canal and the other pic is the Hudson river!! It is such a beautiful quiet place to walk. Eleanor
Eleanor:
I fell in love with that shot of the canal. You should enter it in the photo contest. The composition is fabulous. And, of course, I loved the ducks, too!!
Louise ... your cloud in an envelope story is just too sweet!!!! Childhood memories are so special, aren't they?
This morning ....
37* at about 6 AM. Still awfully dark outside. I suppose that in a few weeks it won't be so dark at 6 AM.
The humidity is still very high, so there might be some fog. Humidity is 92% at the moment.
Very slight breeze coming from the SSE.
It's supposed to hit all of 61* today, but if it's anything like yesterday, it will be warmer.
54 going to 65 and it's sunny now.
47 and mostly sunny. Should be close to 70 today.
39 degrees this morning; very breezy with leaves falling everywhere! Looks like a lovely day in the garden, but we will be heading for Connecticut soon for the day......enjoy Fall everyone!!
Bit warmer today than the last few mornings, 39 and sunny, light breeze.
When my girls were little, they never wanted to be separated from me, especially after their #@**$% father was evicted. I used to give them "lipstick" kisses on their palms then had them close their hands over it and rush off to bed, keeping their hands closed. It still works sometimes.... at 13 and 17!
xx, Carrie
Carrie how nice. You are creative even in your expressions of love. I would copy that lovely gesture except I have no little ones around, and my 32 year old ds probably would wash his hand and start loking at Nursing Homes. :)
