What's blooming? #16
Onewish - how do you get your delphiniums to look soooo beautiful?
begonia
I posted a few more here.... my baskets and things that don't look so hot

Great shots Allison! Love the Malva and Geranium.
I need to learn to focus the flower and blur the junk in the background. I learned yesterday that my camera MIGHT have a black and white setting, which would be cool (but probably not for flower pictures).
xx, C
my camera has a macro setting... it does it automatically ... focus on something close and the background is going to blur
Looks like a China aster - must have moved south!
I have pink ones like that too.
what is that last pink & white flower Pixie?
Looks like a carnation - I love guessing games.
onewish, Al's right......it is a carnation. Al you get the boobie prize....no wait you already got it!
Just one - darn!
I grew carnations one year and loved the flowers, but they grow like vines practically.
pixie, I love the carnation! so pretty!! it's one of my favorite flowers. I planted 6 tiny ones this summer that I got 50% off at Hazzard's. only 3 of them survived, so I guess I paid full price :( anyway, I hope they make it thru the winter so I get to see them bloom. that's a great dl, too. looks like it weathered the storm ok.
onewish, your celosia is a gorgeous color, too. will it keep the color if you dry it? congrats on your canna blooming!
Are they supposed to be perennial, gram? And 50% off with 3/6 surviving is better than full price with 3/6 surviving! I guess I don't take care of my mail order plants the way i ought, so i always assume it's my fault.
Anyone know a tall aster I saw today named something like tardeca? It was very tall (8 feet) great form.
Dave
Dave, this it?
Tatarian aster (A. tataricus) is a tough plant that can withstand drought. A giant in the garden, the species can grow 5 to 8 feet tall, but seldom needs staking. Lavender flowers appear in mid to late fall. ‘Jindai’ is a cultivar that only grows 4 to 5 feet tall. Plant it at the back of the border to hide its barren lower stems.
