LOL too funny Carrie! Some of the Downeast folks really do have an accent, even to me and i've lived here all my life. Actually I am almost one of those "never-been-off-the-island " Mainers, just w/out the accent. I have been to:
New Hampshire
Conn.
Mass.
Otherwise I have only drove thru upstate N.Y. and got out @ Niagra....said "Oh and Ah" got back in the car and kept driving. Took I-90 from Mass. all the way to Erie, PA. Picked up my daughter, slept in a Hotel and drove back home. All I could say was
" We are STILL in N.Y. ??!!" Thats one long state... on the left side of the highway it looked like Maine farmland with the cows and orchards.. On the right side I could see Buffalo, ect.... did not look like Maine is any way shape or form. LOL!
What's blooming? #16
Great photos Pixie.... looks like a nice trip
Pix, it's hard to believe Mallory had never been to Acadia. I'm so glad you took her. thx for the breathtaking photos. it brings back memories of a great trip for me. DH took me to New England for 2 weeks when I FINALLY got my BS at the ripe old age of 40. Acadia was one of the highlights of our trip. (I want to know how Josh is going to stand the separation? how long until he picks up and moves to CA?? oops, mom doesn't wanta hear that...sssh...)
BS? I mean, when I say BS I mean one thing, but I don't think that's what you meant....
Jan.....Im not listening hands are over the ears and my eyes just jumped over that last part. She'll be home for Christmas and Josh is sweating it right now. He won't know what to do with himself once she's gone, it scares me in away. He's very quiet, shy and keeps things inside, kinda like his Mother. 0)
OH, Pixie - we used to have a cat - and then DH mowed around the big bush in the back corner - then we had many dead-bunny gifts. Now, we have no cat (DD#2 is severely allergic) so we have at least one full-size rabbit, who plays in the yard. (we're not like those OTHER neighbors, who mow everything, all the time.) But our rabbit is shy, eats what he finds, I don't know where he lives. Or maybe it's a she. Are the bunny pictures recent? We always had bunnies in the spring....
Very recent....tuesday afternoon to be exact.
Awww, they're so cute. too bad about the squished one.

onewish, I forgot to mention you're beautiful begonias. I bought some several years but was very ill that year and never planted them. I felt so guilty I haven't bought any since. lol
gee, nothing blooming but bunnies! it's been raining pretty steadily here for the past 3 days, but it's supposed to be nice for the next 3, so maybe something will pop up.
here's an indoor pic. I thought I was killing my jewel orchid, but I guess I just stressed it enough to make it bloom. these flowers are very tiny...about 1/2" across
When should I expect my mums to start blooming? They are covered with buds. And my Wonder of Staffa aster - if I vigorously deadhead - will it still make more blooms? I have been rather neglectful in deadheading it and it has set some seeds (which I collected)
I would guess your mums will be blooming within a week or so. no idea about the aster.
