Jean Marie opened up now too. Camera always get this color right somehow.
What's blooming? #16
If they're just opening for you now Al, how long will you have to enjoy them before the cold kills them?
3-5 weeks I would say. Some are just slow, that new bed they were in really didn't do very well this year.
ngam, That is the seed pod. It flowered in spring with the traditional look you would recognize.
Wow! You guys went to town with the pics. yesterday. Nice photos everyone!! Onewish, those begonias are beautiful!!
I had a great time yesterday, but wished I could of stayed longer. That always happens when I'm at the coast, I never want to leave.
Vivtor, I know you hate morning glories but just look at how pretty this one is......
Not on top of Caddilac Mountain here but almost. The wind was whipping so hard my big 124 lbs. was being pushed around like a rag doll! I had to squat to take most of the pictures as it literally knocked me off my feet. But to be honest....I was thankful for that wind, it was the only thing keeping us cool!
This is Mallory soaking in the scenery......her first time there and I was blessed to be the one to show it to her. As she stood there cam-cording it all I heard her say, "I'm sure California will be beautiful and I'll see wonders there, but I will never forget how beautiful my own state is. Look at this place!!!!" I had tears in my eyes listening to her and made me even more thankful that I took the time to bring her here.
I loved Acadia last year, nice pics, thanks for bringing back memories!
glad Mallory enjoyed it, that's a nice experience to share
Beautiful MG Celeste. Great shade. The Acadia photos are stunning. Can't wait to get back there. Guess it was quiet this time of year. Great that Mallory saw it. Are you prepared for the separation??
Beautiful begonias Onewish particularly the first one. They are like roses for a shady spot.
Al, more pretty dahlias, are they all open now? Your garden must look a big bouquet.
Glad to hear you had a great day Pix. Pretty pink MG, but the big blue ones are what I think of when someone says MG. Kinda like those new pink daffodil bulbs, just doesn't seem right some how, old age I guess. :)
Dave , oh yes I see but I have never seen the nice seed pod before. Another plus for J in P plant. :)
Oh my what lovely scenery. I was posting when these came up. The view through the trees is really nice, just a hint of the color below, lovely. Its nice to know all that wondrous landscape is appreciated by a new generation.
No Victor, I don't think im ready for the seperation. California is a bit too far for me. I can't hop in a car and drive there if I want to give her a hug! She is a sweet, smart , funny girl and I have grown to love her very much. She kisses me everyday when she first see's me and hugs and kisses me goodnight every night. I will miss this one as if she were my own.
Josh & Mallory.
On the way home there is this house and Mallory just had to have a picture of the entrance. It says no parking for any reason...I parked anyways to take this picture. I thought for sure we were going to have to call Brian to come bail us out of jail for tresspassing!!

Wait, wait, Pixie, who is Mallory? I foolishly thought she was your daughter. And where in CA is she going?
xxx, dumb and dumber
Mallory is my youngest son's girl friend, she is going to FIDM in Los Angels California.
I don't mean to scare you Pixie, but I've been to Bucksport. I believe there was an old fort there.
On the other side of the bridge posted above....is Fort Knox. Is that the fort your talking about Al? Went there around 6:30 last night and they were just closing the gates.
That's it. We didn't go to Acadia. I think it was pretty close to Baa Haaba though.
Yes, very close..only about 30-40 minutes away.
LOL Baa Haabaa. I took my DH to the Ancestral Family Summer Home in Maine, the only state he'd never been to! He prides himself on being able to recognize accents; he can tell Laotian from Vietnamese and distinguish between different parts of China or different parts of NYC. He used to work for British Airways and dealt with all manner of folks from all over the world, especially rich places like Saudi Arabia yadda yadda. So the first person who he hears with an honest to God old fashioned never-been-off-the-island Maine accent, he whispers in my ear "what country is he from?" I guess it does sound a little like a British colonial accent, like Uganda or somewhere....
