92, hot, hazy, humid...calling for thunder showers this evening.
Today's Weather in Your Garden
I've been calling for showers for weeks now. They're not responding.
hot and a bit humid... went home for lunch and had to water some plants... specially the big brugs!!!
Well, it is intensely blue outside my office window and very sunny . . . wish I were in the garden - instead, I am inside and I should be putting together the lesson plans for urban sociology and the research methods class . . . rats.
Suppose to rain tomorrow, I hope so
the 2nd driest august in history... wow... so I hope at least is a good rain....
gorgeous weekend coming.... time for gardening!!!!ohhhhhh
very nice and pleasant night!!!!
Beautiful again YESTERDAY - I'm a bit late with the weather report. It was 85 and not a cloud in the sky. Worked outside some but spent most of the time talking with my next door neighbor - a nice little old lady (she would be mortified at that description) who fell and has a broken bone in her back and can't do her yard work anymore so hires someone. She feels so bad about that as she loves the outside and keeping her yard in shape. Oopps I rambled again!! LOL Eleanor
beautiful here too, 55' right now, but I think it will be another day of no rain we need so badly
70 and muggy here at 9 AM. Supposed to be in mid 80's and humid. Allegedly, showers are possible tonight and the weekend looks good. Can't wait to close the pool this weekend! Then the kids start school on Wed. Things are starting to look up!!!
You have a pool???? Lucky dog . . . DH really envies you - all we have is a blacktop driveway and lots of flowers :-)
DH even watered the gardens for me yesterday - nice, huh?
If I could give it to you I would. It's a pain and one more chore.
Which is what??
Searing white hot heat. Breeze hardly helps. Weatherpeople are calling for rain tomorrow. Hope (not very high hope) they are right. Victor are you sure you were dialing the right number?
I think they're using caller ID and avoiding me.
I just came in after five hours of digging. It was nice in the shade - almost cool.
What were you working on?
Its just plain hot! More humid but not too bad, 88 degrees with a slight breeze. Went out to do some dead heading after I watered this am, too hot to stay in the sun very long. Then had to fill in the chipmunk tunnel under my rose again. Soaking wet and get to garage where a bird, a nuthatch , has gotten lost in there and can't seem to get that if he just flew a foot lower there is a big fat opening to fly out! Spent a half hour chasing him around. He finally went out the window I opened, go figure.
I dug out one tremendous amount of Siberian iris and three plots of old Japanese irises, Victor, with more to go tomorrow.
My goodness, pirl, you work tooo hard. Where are relocating them? Did you create a new garden?
Yes, I think Pirl is the James Brown of gardening!
Oh my, I just got a visual - Pirl, in her umbrella hat, doing the James Brown swirl. You go girl!
Moving to 'I Feel Good!'.
HOT! It's 88 now and it's after 6. They said we'll get rain tomorrow, I'll believe it when I see it. Hubby promised we'll be getting a pool next year, YEAH!
Seandor/everyone here right now: would you like the Siberian irises? Louisiana 'Gamecock'? A few JI's?
The JI's are going to upstate NY, Maine, California, Mississippi and one more state, which I've managed to forget. I went out after dinner to see what I have left and there are 13 more clumps! Mind you, I haven't gotten to either of the main three JI gardens!
How about swaying with a sheet and singing, 'I Feel Exhausted'?
Whew!! Hot and humid!! And then around 6:00 it cooled off. Thunder rumbled in the distance but nothing here except 10 sprinkles of rain. I know we need rain but I'd love to work outside tomorrow since it's cooler and DSIL decided he was all rested and could now take care of his son. My DD will be back from a business trip late Saturday morning so I should have the long weekend off from taking care of my grandson.- I think the two of them can handle it together. Tuesday DD starts a new job at her company and with better hours 8-5 but still has a 2 hour commute. Eleanor
Well, I know it's a bit early, but here's my 'look' at the weather this morning:
64 degrees, and it feels a bit muggy
I can't see the sun yet, as it hasn't made an appearance in the sky
We did get a bit of rain last night, but not near as much as the folks just to the north of us! Wow! Thunder and lightning and the wind was tremendous! I thought the back yard gazabo was going to fly away!
Still dark here at 55' and cloudy perhaps and hopefully that means rain.
Schickenlady, my BiL lives in Sunapee, that is next door to you right? We used to visit him quite a bit to ski on Mt. Sunapee. Before we out wore our welcome, lol, we bought an old farmhouse in New London as a second home, enjoying it for many years.
Suns barely up, cloudy, 53 degrees. Hope we get some rain today.
Finally RAIN!! It poured here last night!! We need it so badly!!
70, overcast and muggy. Supposed to rain - hope it finally does! Got a few drops overnight, but nothing measurable.
63 here cloudy and expecting rain which we need. I hope it rains a nice gentle rain all day.
Sunny now,74, no clouds to the west, still hoping for some rain, not looking good. Set a record for the 2nd driest Aug. Hope sept. brings more rain. Pleeease!
nice and beautiful outside!!!! an again I am at work.... 79.... no signs of rain!!!! and only a 20% chance of rain... well, I antecipate that I will be spending another hour watering... oh I love watering my garden.... but I have tons of holes to dig... a co -worker is giving me a hydrangea next tuesday so I need to take out some daturas... and move some daysies.... and dig 18 holes for the roses I have to plant....oh major gardening project ... again!!!

75 cloudy and oh so muggy, I sure hope it rains!
Great room Schick.
schicken- the couch seats 20? That's one HUGE couch.
It's been a tease of a day so far. Early am was overcast and hinted at rain. Quickly changed to bright sky with puffy clouds and pleasant breeze. Grrrr Finished my watering by eleven so I could watch the US Open. 11:15 Wind picked up, sky darkened a bit, looks like rain. Grrrrrr (water bill is outrageous!) Tennis is great but sky is bright again and breeze just usual. Not looking like rain. Grrrr
Spending my day growling and hoping for rain.
