Fall Color!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

In Manchester, it's warmish, muggy, very overcast. They might even have a bit of fog right now, but that should have dissipated (sp?) before you have to be there. The forecast is for overcast all day, chance of sprinkles, and temps near 70. I wish you were coming further west, though! I live about an hour west of the 'big' airport!

After today I will know how to get to Manchester airport and maybe someday I can meet you near there, or near by!

That would be the greatest thing in the world!!
I'd love to meet you.

Pixie a group of those black dripping mushrooms would look great in a Halloween yard. :)

Yes they would..very Gothic. The black is just like ink!

The leaves have only started to change color in the Glens Falls area. About the only autumn color I have in my garden except for a few fallen leaves is this Autumn Joy Sedum. Eleanor

Pix, love those mushroom shots. Eleanor you gotta love sedum in the fall. Lots of yellow and brown here already. I don't think the leaves will be very vibrant around here this year, it has been way too dry and many leaves are dropping green or a crispy brown. :(

This is supposed to be peak week for us in our region. I don't think ours will look so well, either. There ARE bright spots here and there, but not many.

Here are three views of my Fall color. No trees changing yet, but lots of stressed Oak leaves to rake up, and Oaks are usually the last to go in my yard.

The first here are my MG's - Heavenly Blue, Scarlett O'Hara, and Milky Way.

The second is one of my Hydrangea's:

The last is the Cosmos, Lantana, Aster, and David Phlox still blooming. Oh, also Becky Shasta Daisy and a Salvia. This side of the barn is South facing.

Sue:

The south side of the barn garden is so pretty and very interesting. What I really like is that I can even recognize some of the plants. Guess this 'newbie' is getting better!!
