Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Murmur, I keep worrying about your kitty...please let us know...

Jump over to the prayer forum and the Kay/sher thread to see the first gallery pictures.....will post the next ones on this thread.

OK.....kitty prayers going up for you tonight, sweet lady..

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Kitty prayers going up from me too Murmur.

Garden those are nice gardens there too. I wonder if all the rabbits and vermin all died so they can get the gardens restored much easier in NOLA?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gardengirl..your gardens are to die for...I've got the labour of love to do such gardens, I'm just impatient...well..it's time to leave for the big city so you all have a wonderful 'July 4th' and we'll gab this morning...

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

what i learned today:

The United States has never lost a war in which mules were used.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Darius...am laughing as I read your post...must have skipped that english class..will be more careful from now on lol... my english has never been the best..think that often happens when you are in school learning multi languages at same time..never very proficient in either....as for the mules, should send e-mail to White House ... might give them the edge...and I SO enjoyed your D-mail..you must be very proud...

Morning Dawn, what plans do you have today?

Murmur..my prayers going for the safe return of the kitten as well...

Sure hope I get to play with some of you today...lol...

Just a short message. Hi to the Newbies. Great gardens and projects!Betty please show picture of your new car!

Have to go. Almost time to get ready for work! But I have tomorrow off instead.

You all have the day you need and the weather!

Happy Fourth of July!
Vicki

Ijamsville, MD(Zone 6b)

Hi All -

gardengirl your gardens are beautiful no room for weeds with all the flowers!

Murmur - that sounds like my kind of night out!! Have you been to the Herbfarm?

My neck is trying to get better, I went and had a massage and I am learning to keep my arms off the arm rests on my computer chair. They are too high and keep my shoulders up and my poor trapezius contracted.

Going to see fireworks tonight. I haven't done that in many years, too much trouble, crowds, traffic etc. but I am taking the train into DC so I won't have to fight traffic.

Yesterday
Best - having someone else pay the tab, forgot what that feels like.

Worst - procrastinating and not getting chores done, even with my list to remind me

Learned - If corn doesn't digest why do we eat it?

Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

Well, I didn't get on at all yesterday. But, I was able to spend some time outside.

Thank you all for your compliments on DD. She's such a happy baby too which makes things really nice.

Shar - I'm like you. There are so many things I want to say when I'm reading the posts but by the time I get through them I forget what I was going to say. The art gallery sounds awesome. It's so nice that you're having a variety of styles. This year I want to do more embroidery and teach DD1 who's eight. I'll have to check out your other thread.

Betty - That is so sad about that little girl. I can't even imagine how her family must feel.

That will have to be it for now. I'll try to post later with my best/worst.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

I had almost forgotten this holiday till Betty reminded me with a d mail card.....will be strange to be alone on a holiday. I have been invited to go out on a cruise boat to see the fireworks from KY lake.....something that Bob and i did for years, and I accepted the invitation originally, but am now not sure I really want to go. My son will be here, but he will undoubtedly be out with his friends on his boat in the middle of the fireworks too...And, too....if I sit on my front porch I can see the fireworks from here because my little town has a great fireworks display. anyway.....might just stay inside and play with Jazz and daisy, they are pretty entertaining.

I am enjoying seeing your pictures....that also makes me want to work in my gardens, they need mulch again.
murmur....any kitty news?

cute comment Darius...you feeling better?

bluekat.....it's a jungle out there tonight, but have fun!
Does heat help your neck/shoulders?

I have to start taking notes so that I can comment on all your comments...I can never remember all that I want to say by the time I am ready to reply...so forgive whatever I leave out. I love your posts and dont ever mean to ignore you.
But I really am worried about Murmur's kitty.
sharon

Edited because this keyboard is still stiff and my punctuation is nil, because I don't hit the keys hard enough....forgive and ignore, please.

Shar, although it would be most difficult for you to join everyone tonight, Bob would want you to be surrounded by family and friends...you could always go and if you feel uncomfortable, you could come back home...

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Would be hard to do, betty since we will be on the cruise boat in the middle of the lake and I can't walk on water. So if I go, will have to go for the duration.
One minute I think I can handle it, the next minute I think I can't.....Oh well, I have a while to decide.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hmmm forgot about the boat 'sweetie'...you do what you feel is right for you 'today!'

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

will do...thanks for thinking of me, though.
Hugs.

Chester County, PA(Zone 6b)

Morning all!

Betty....thank you for the ecard....how nice. Do you have another photo to show of the chair(s)? Want to see the painted slats better, please? And how are you feeling today? Better, I hope? May I ask what kind of car you got?

Murmur...still keeping good kitty thoughts....Years ago, in Florida my inside/outside kitty disappeared for almost three weeks. Not to scare you but she had a horrible wound on her back leg when she finally showed up. Many, many trips to the vet and she was all healed up...finally. Never could keep her inside all of the time, though that would have been safest. She moved from Florida with us (that was quite a trip....two cats, two dogs, two children and hubs out of town before, during and after the move and it still took two taxis to get us to the airport) and then with us through three moves within Pennsylvania. She passed at the age of 16...her disappearing disaster happened when she was about six. So please don't give up hope. You never know when you might receive your very own kitty miracle.

A halloween baby boy...wonderful! And if newest GD makes her appearance a few days late, she can share hubs and my birthday of September 3rd.

Sharon, checked out the gallery photos in prayer and what a wonderful thing for you to do for your community. Kudos to you!

bluekat...I covet your massage but not your neck pain....I have more than enough of my own. Very glad you enjoyed dinner out. Hope you are feeling all better very soon.

Vicki...Thank you for the hello. I am (obviously) one of the new people.

darius, thank you for the interesting mule fact.....gotta find some way to work that into a conversation.

Best from yesterday? A solitary afternoon of leisurely garden puttering....weed pulling and transplanting...and then a nice rain last night.

Worst? I picked the first ripe tomato and then lost it somewhere in the yard...I looked everywhere and checked all three dogs for tomato evidence but no luck.

Learned? When you don't latch the veggie garden gate and can't find the dogs...they are in the garden eating peas and pea vines....oh well, I'll just plant more.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

thanks, tangie, btw...my son's birthday is september 3......

Victoria Harbour, ON

tangie, can't open the photo probably because I copied from photobucket..
Haven't posted in quite some time but you can probably see the chairs and enlarge if your visit the following site: p.s. will have to add photo's now that most of the work is done...project for this weekend....

How did I ever get along without all of you and you're kindness and caring about my missing kitty and me???!!!

Best today: it's gorgeous here!

Worst: no return of Kitty Prints yet.

What I learned: see first sentence of this post.

Victoria Harbour, ON

The day is nearing an end..my thoughts have been with you all..know how very important Independence Day is to all...I have an affection for the USA as I truly believe much of the freedom we experience here in Canada as with many countries is because of you all!!!

Best thing that happened to me today was getting a lovely card from Maureen and a packet of gourd seeds from DarlinDeb..was just like Christmas for me...their kindness overwhelmed me!

Worse thing that happened today..would have to be the loss of 6 soldiers..most stationed in Edmonton I believe..prayers please for their families...

What did I learn today...that I sleep so much better after watching Joel Olsteen video sermons which are found on computer..I've another 1/2 hr. and then I can retire...ordered some of his cd's today... 'You are somebody's miracle' and "Get up so God can get you out!"

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

worst: i said something ugly on another thread, mostly because the last 2 days have been h*** on wheels for me (might loose my home), and i took it out in a very inappropliate manner.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Darius..I am sure everyone understands your circumstances..you've been through so much of late...don't be upset ..they are your friends!

Is there anything any of us can do to help?

Will say a special prayer this evening ... may the Lord see your needs and answer the prayers said on your behalf...

I hate when I do that Darius, we do understand and on DG it is really easy to be rubbed wrong, when you are in a bad place already. If it was deserved than let it go, if not, then you can dmail an apology if you feel like it. Sorry about your house, I lost a rental house once and it made me lose my hair from the stress. (It was my X`s fault but that is another story). Can we help somehow and brainstorm a solution or no way?

I miss a day and there is just too much to comment on.

Thanks B for recoginzing our countries freedom and contributions, it`s sometimes hard for some of us to appreciate things during this time , but I won`t go there.

going to go park down the street and watch fireworks by myself I guess, he as usual doesn`t want to go. ho hum.

Best thing I learned today, was I have a friend that will never miss an opportunity to get her friends and family together.

worst is realizing that some of our group can`t help but feel alone, in a crowd right now and I take that for grantid and give my sympathies to the widdows.

Nipomo, CA(Zone 8a)

Wow Sharon you have a good camera to take such clear pictures.
My name is Dayna and I have kind'a leaped frog over here.
Best Thing******Happy Birthday America*******
I love being patriotic, and when I can do it openly at work (being the only one who did)I really enjoy it.
Worst thing: Having to leave an afternoon BBQ when the kids and the husband were behaving so well, becuase I was just so tired. Kids wanted to see fireworks but they are illegel in my little township. ANd a sparkler is not worth the $2000 fine I am told you will get slapped with if you get caught with any,
Thing I learned people need to be a little more patriotic, more proud of who this country has evolved from, and how far we have come in 231 years. They need to look at the big picture and see what we ARE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND WE ROCK!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Welcome, Dayna....I like your words!!

Darius,
Just a note to tell you that I am thinking about you tonight and hope that those situations that are giving you pain and grief will ease and that you will have some much needed rest from all of them.
take care of yourself, your health, and let that be your main goal for the moment.....
sleep well, hugs to you.

Murmur...did kitty come home yet? know how concerned you are ...

Dawn..nope didn't get the smart car as I'm always doing some project or other and with only having 1 car I'd be so restricted so I bought the Aveo SL..and got all kind of goodies in it .. drove it to work yesterday .. am pleased..color not the best but oh well wasn't going to spend another $200.00 for delivery of another...

Best - (Cover your eyes Betty) the most relaxing day in weeks! Loved every minute of doing almost nothing. DC was fun but it was one of those now I did that I don't have to go back kind of things.

Worst - not too much - I did get some hail in the afternoon and am worried about my tomato plants. Neck is slooowwwwly getting better.

Learned - watching fireworks without the sound takes away a lot of the enjoyment.

Nice car Betty - I see what you mean about the color - LOL. Right now you are driving along with your new car smell figuring out all the buttons and dials.

Tangiegirl - that is a BIG worst in my book, losing a tomato! Welcome to our little family.

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

well hello,

darius i had some catching up to do on your posts... you are so funny at times... i really appreciate your humour.
as for saying the wrong thing, we are all human my friend. there is some good advice here so do what you feel you need to and know that we understand.

wow, thanks for the pics of the fire works. they have been made illegal here and i miss them.

the garden!!!!!!!!!!! its gorgeous!! so envious....

i ove this thread too and all who sail within her!! lol

best thing ? coming home from work.
worst? do tired.

nite nite
love and hugs to all

Hey it`s the glass of winders all dragging over her to this thread. Hey Dayna and Kim? Best thing is I haven`t missed a thing during the night because I was awake the entire night ,like Betty, I assumed from a post I saw from you.

Worst is actually starting a day tired and knowing that again we are supposed to be in the tripple digits with no rain in sight.

Morning all...was cleaning notes off of refrigerator this morning and saw this clipping..thought I'd share...

Steps to Happiness Everybody Knows:

You can't be all the things to all people
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's....

So:

You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because on one else is in the contest of 'being you'.

Then:

You will have learned to accept your own uniquemess.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have lerned to give yourself the respect that is due.
And you'll be a most vital mortal.

Dare to Believe:

That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you'll be able to storry one up on what used to get you down!

Betty, love the car!! And the steps of happiness.

Worst thing: no kitty.

Best thing: beautiful day

What I learned: nothing, it's too early. Maybe I'll learn something monumental later in the day.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Great car, Betty, reminds me of a sunset.....but then I do LOVE color!!!
Murmur...I can relate......got up at 6 am, no Jazzy cat.....and he is an inside kitten, remember. got up at 7, no Jazz, again at 9....no Jazz. Went through the house with a flashlight looking under everything. No Jazz.
Normally Jazz sleeps in his little red bed beside my pillow...not last night, was awake off and on and missed him, but didn't get up to look.
At 9, I enlisted Daisy's help......and believe me, daisy knew that I waslooking for Jazz.
No Jazz.
So I was frantic.....he is a hungry kitten, and i could not imagine him not showing up for food.
About 10:30.....here came Jazz just dancing behind Daisy....don't have a clue where he was, don't know if Daisy found him, or what, but there he was, starving of course.

So now.....with a sigh of relief, I will go on about my day. Have to go to the gallery to finish up the new show, will take photos, if i remember to take my camera. You have a good day......will talk with you later.
s

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I love that color B it is so different than the norm. it is pretty to me. good car too.

I can`t believe how fast he is growing(Jazz). that is so funny, cats find the oddest places to crash out.
