Hopefully! Oh! Beautiful dogs KatyMac ! So sorry you lost Boomer. They are part of the family and hurts just as much as loosing a person.
I have noticed that anything up real close against the fence has been left undisturbed so maybe I could sneak out there when she is in the house and do some planting along there. At least so I have something besides the fence to look at out the window.
Thanks Janet. I can't tell either whether that was daytime or night with flash.
What's the view from your favorite perch? Show and tell...
I love that picture of Tink flying Janet! LOL
Beautiful dogs Janet, and the Terrier is quite an acrobat!
I love that photo too. Thanks Katy. She does love her tennis balls. :-) She'll worry you to death with it, if you give her half of a chance.
I suppose I should post a picture of Little Dog too. Little Dog adopted Connie not too long ago. She's a sweetie pie with a never ending tongue that lovese to lick me! HAHAHAHA

Connie, Welcome to the forum, about time you joined! :)
The dogs are very pretty, We have cats and I just about go crazy with the one that digs and poops in the yard. But that is what I get for having them - and having a yard.
Connie, also, I love your view, you are quite an artist.
This one is along my back path, behind it is a canal, the water is so inviting to listen to and the flowers are so beautiful. Most of them are volulteer from last year. I did plant some petunias that I started from seed.
Marie
I thought I should mention here that the reason I am posting photos for Connie is because her connection is not as fast as mine. And I know she won't mind.
And on that note, I'm going to go recline for a bit in the other room.
G'Night Folks!
Janet
Here's an owl that I saw the other night just ouside my back door.
Connie??? You think we could make HIM from Copper??? HAHAHAHAHA
Marie, your yard is gorgeous! I love the color combinations you have there. I love the sound of running water. It just soothes the soul.
Is that the love lies bleeding I see draped there? I remember when I first joined Dave's I saw a photo of that with a baby in it and I showed it to Connie then and said... Someday I'll have me some of that! :-)
Janet
OK now if you all will turn me loose... HAHAHAHAHA
I made 2 new listings for Skeeters today. One for the small one and one for the medium one. They sure have been fun to make.

Connie came by today with a lady bug. I forgot to take any pictures of her. She's a cutie pie.
A few years ago, my hubby brought home this plant and told me it was a candlestick plant. He got it on a jobsite he was on, and that was what the lady told him. I looked up candlestick plant here on DG and a totally different plant came up. Do any of you know what this plant is? Right now, this plant is about 4 ft. tall. I have several of them. We cut them back last year and they came back bigger than ever. I've never seen this anywhere else.
Janet
It's a Cassia alata
(grinning )I know... I can't fool you. I have no idea about these real names and genuses. But I am a good researcher.
It is called a candlestick plant or bush according to google images. When I clicked on one that looked like yours I found this fellow Texan also had trouble finding it's real name.

Now could you please start me one? :)
Geez Connie,
I should have known you'd find out. You are the best "finder-outer, give me an 800#" person I've ever known! Even before the internet I remember you finding all kinds of info about just about anything! HAHAHAHAHA
OK, you can have the second pot of them, since you found out what they were.
This view from my back door was taken on the 5th. I sure wish we would see this many dove when we hunt. I thought maybe these were getting ready for a meeting. HAHAHAHA
All those power wires really make for not so beautiful sky photos. I suppose I should count my blessings for the electricity I get from them, instead of complaining about them.
Donna, how did you manage such a gorgeous, lush garden in Eastern WA? It's absolutely lovely.
Oh WOW! That is gorgeous Donna!
I think I'd have to enjoy my coffee throughout the day there. What a magnificent view!! I bet you get a lot of wildlife there.
I love that bridge! Do you have fish in your creek?
Janet
ConnieSue, you've got Dmail.

JanetQue
Thank you.... and a piece of that one next to the shed you still need to dig out for me too. :)
Speaking of hunting ...and the shed... be sure to wear your camo P.J.'s Might make a difference.
Oh Donna! I might need you to get off your perch for a few minutes and meander down there to take some closer pics. Love the purple !
Took me a minute to remember the one you were talking about, but I remembered. I'll see about doing that tomorrow.
Thankyou all for your comments.
The bridge goes over a depression between the two manmade & woman made (I did help) ponds, the smaller pond is for frogs, polly wogs etc. The large pond is for the goldfish and the one Koi. But somehow and I don't understand, there is a young goldfish in the frog pond.
Does take a lot of water and pumping to keep everything growing, especially this year. What you see in the near background is a berm made with the dirt excavated from the larger pond, and in near right that doesn't show up much is a rock garden using the soil from the smaller pond.
Donna
UniQue,
Yes it is a Loves Lies Bleeding. The picture was probably one of mine with my daughter and granddaughter last year. I have many volunteers this year, but this one just beats the pants off all the others. It is around 6' tall and just stands out above everything else. I can't help but send a couple of pictures:
UniQue,
Sorry, I ment to comment on the Owl....WOW....I have one here occasionally, very fun to watch.
I also have this Blue Mist Bush which I love. And so do the bees. I have to fight them off when I take cuttings for floral arrangements. This bush reseeds also. I have had this one for 3 years now and I have hundreds of seedlings that are giving me beautiful fluffs of blue also. I haven't tried to transplant one so I don't know how far the root goes, but this year I am going to try. Anyone for seeds????? I am collecting some of this and many other plants.
Connie
Love the purple. Purple is my sweeties favorite color. I will have many seeds I hope. Please D-mail me so I will remember.
I am for sure going to collect seeds from my 6' Loves Lies Bleeding. I can't believe it, I have never had one this big. I will also try to collect from the Russian sage (It would go so good with the color of your house), and the Blue Mist Bush.
Here is another of the Loves Lies Bleeding:
Great Marie !
I'm new to seeds. When we were evacuated in San Antonio, Janet and I were so worried we would have nothing left of our gardens when we got home. I did angel trumpets from seed pods and a pride of barbados from seeds a friend in San Antonio gave us. It bloomed a week ago. I'm thrilled. But I lost the other five due to ignorance. Snatched ahold of tiny plants and jerked them up by the roots. Next time I'll start them in egg cartons so I don't disturb them when transplanted.Oh and some seeds for ornmental millet Janet and I were given have peeked up this week! That ought to look good next to the house too. I've never seen it in nurseries around here and had to figure out what it was on google.
Marie, absolutely lovely plants!!! Is the Blue Mist Bush a Caryopteris? The Love Lies Bleeding is incredible - I've never seen anything like it (size-wise). Nice gardening!
aGreat looking Love-Lies-Bleeding, my sister grows nice ones but I don't do well with them.
Do like Caryopteris, also have the variegated leaf one.
aNice to see all your lovely gardens.
Donna
I have seen the variegated leafed Caryopteris and love them, I would like to try some. I must have dozens of plants from the seed falling last year that I haven't weeded out or transplanted. Maybe next year my health will be better. I can always pray for it. :)
This is one of my volunteers from last years seed
Alright, forgive me for sounding like an idiot here. I've seen volunteer in more than one place here on DG, and never heard of that before I joined DG. Just what IS a volunteer? Is that something that automatically comes back year after year, reseeding itself? Inquiring idiots wanna know! HAHAHAHA
As long as you're asking, I'd love to have some of those seeds you were referring to. The Blue Mist and the Love Lies Bleeding. I hope mine does as good as yours has. Absolutely gorgeous! I love unique plants and both of those are unique to me.
Janet
Marie, Amazing plant and beautiful. I have a hard time imagining that 6 foot Love Lies Bleeding standing up by itself with all the blooms it has weighing it down! Did you have to stake it?
Janet - a volunteer is a plant that "volunteers itself" to be where it is. That is, a plant that self seeds
into the place it selects.
Tam
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh like Mexican Petunias, and Cannas!!! And Elephant Ears!!! I have those aplenty. Also Portulaca, Spider Plants, and Mother of Millions.
Thanks Tam!!! That makes perfect sense! I love those kind of plants.
Anyone want some of those??? I have got plenty to share!
Janet
I was wondering if you would all go with me if we started a part two on this forum. My "possum bell" phone connection takes forever and five day to load all your pretty pictures. Anyone have an opinion???? Pretty Please???? With sugar???
I'm on a dial up too so I hear ya podster ! I'd be there.
I'm not on dial up, but I'd follow. I've really enjoyed this thread. Thanks for starting it Pod.
Janet
I'm not on dial up, but these photos have been so wonderful, along with the conversation, that I would love to follow.
Great, I will try to start it this weekend...if they fix my phone line! Maybe folks will have some fall photos too for us to enjoy... Will post a link when I gitrdone....
podster, I will follow, this has been so fun.
Maiden, this plant has just amazed me. I have never had a Loves Lies Bleeding like this. This is the only plant I am going to collect seeds from to share, whether anyone, including me, will get another like this I don't know, but this has been truely fasinating to watch. I have not staked it or done anything but watch it grow. It has been great fun and a blessing given me.
Janet, I purchased a seed packet of loves lies bleeding 3 years ago and I haven't planted any since. they just seed whereever they want, where they drop or the wind blows them. I will collect seeds, and if you want a plant I would try to dig one up and send it to you. I would love to trade anyone for seeds or plants.
I brought my brugs into the house 2 days ago for fear of freezing temps and loosing them. These two little ones are sitting on my kitchen table for now.
I hope y'all won't mind if I continue this thread...over here... http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/652184/
Summer photos or even new Fall photos will be enjoyed. Please join us...show us where you've been perching this summer. : )) pod
