Great news!

First piece of bad news... the barn has powder-post beetles. Don't know how bad the infestation is, nor even if they are still active. Will know tomorrow.

What are they, Darius? And what kind of damage do they do? Can you get rid of them?

The barn is old, and needs some new siding. I'm hoping the infestation is no longer live. We can always reinforce the posts and it's far enough away from the house not to transmitt them.

Seems like I remember a spray solution of borax gets rid of them.

Darius, that's what the article says :) I found it to be quite informative as I had no idea what they were.
