Kim, Pat, Ted, Shelia and marylee. I got you down. Did I miss anyone?

Would anyone like cuttings from this Scheferra(sp?

Sylvia, in the plant files it says Royal Standard gets to be 6 - 8 feet wide. I don't remember what the spacing was for the other one. That sounds really huge to me, but it also sounds wonderful and lush, so I'm thanking you in advance.:) I wonder how big the pot needs to be.
Russian sage for Sylvia and Sandy!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Sandy, the confederate rose sounds really nice, but I'm just not sure I have room for it. Maybe up here it wouldn't get that big. If it got only half day sun would it get leggy and not bloom?

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I've been so busy working outside my house has gotten totally neglected...but I do hope to have it at least in presentable order by the weekend. Today I moved out all the hoyas so it will be easier to sweep. Of course now my kitchen looks empty too. The low point of today was when I was using my new weedeater to trim around my plants so that nothing would get chopped by the lawn maintenance people....and then I chopped down one of my plants by accident! Sigh....serves me right I suppose. The good thing is I think it will root ok and the root ball is still in the ground so it may come back. I think I will be hand trimming the grass around the vines from now on....

Sylvia...it doesn't matter which sedums, the trailing ones sound nice....whatever you have is fine with me!

:) Kim

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Ta Rogers, I can't remember if I am bringing anything for you, but if you still have coleus or double yellow datura, that would be nice.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Kim, did you say you wanted hardy amaryllis? I know Sandy wants one.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Yes...I'd definitely like to try the hardy amaryllis. Thanks so much!

:) Kim

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

TARogers....I'd also be interested in your begonias....would you be interested in my misfit agave mentioned above?

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

That sounds like a good idea at this point - a recap, so everything is all in one box! Here's what I have to date:

As of 4/23

Clara Curtis chrysanthemum - no takers
Lysimachia procumbens 'Golden Globe' (not invasive like some other lysimachia) - City_Sylvia, patrob
Cardamom ginger - throneofyord, silverfluter, bettydee, City_Sylvia, ilovejesus99, Sheila_FW
Gaura lindheimeri 'The Bride' - frostweed, Sheila_FW, blue_eyes
Black Princess taro - blue_eyes, silverfluter, ilovejesus99, City_Sylvia, Sheila_FW
Hyacinth bean vine seeds and a few plants (Dolichos lablab - my favorite vine) - Sheila_FW
Epiphyllum strictum - City_Sylvia, TARogers

Assortment - TARogers

Add some Queen's Tears (Billbergia nutans)
Add one Cassia alata (Candlestick plant) - frostweed
Add some vivid pink verbena (photo available) - might be Homestead Pink, but not sure - patrob
Add some Russelia equisetiformis (firecracker fern)

BTW, does anyone have any Liatris spicata to share?

From dmj1218 - Oxblood lilies
From patrob - Indigo Spires
From Sheila - variegated sweet flag
From frostweed - 3 penstemon, 3 phlox
From silverfluter - Russian sage, Aztec Gold daylily

Have I missed anyone, and are there any other last week requests?
This is fun! I LUV Dave's Garden!!

One more week! Woo Hoo!!
CJ

ceejaytown,
I'd love to have some of your vivid pink verbena and Lysimachia procumbens 'Golden Globe.' I have lots of liatris punctata, but not spicata. Are there other plants you are looking for?
Thanks,
Patricia

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Ceejaytown, I would like some of Gaura and some of the Cassia alata, if still available, what would you like from my list?
Josephine.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks much, Patricia, but punctata doesn't do as well here. It likes it drier. How long will your drive be to the RU? And tell me, do they bury Republicans in Democrat Cemetery? LOL

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

CJ, I would love to have some of these if you still have them. Please look for my list posted April 18th. Let me know what I have that you will take.

Cardamom ginger
Black Princess taro
Hyacinth bean vine
Gaura lindheimeri 'The Bride'

If you don't need plants, please look at my garden art items. Let me know what I can put your name on.
Sheila

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Josephine - I know the penstemon will do well here, but not sure about the phlox. Do you have to stake it? I know it's supposed to be mildew resistant - and it would have to be for our area. If you have either of those left, those would be great. If not, that's OK. Thanks.
CJ

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

ceejay,
DH says they bury ANYBODY (or is it any BODY) in Democrat Cemetery. LOL (He does a lot of geneaological research and knows where all the little cemeteries are around here.) It's about a three-hour drive from Goldthwaite to College Station. Living in the very middle of Texas has many advantages, but we are used to driving at least a couple of hours to get anywhere. Only a few days now!

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Sheila, IF you have any variegated sweet flag left that would be wonderful. If not, that's OK too. It's late in the game! :-D

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Frostweed, Do you have a Russian sage left? Not positive it will do well here (sage) but I'd give it a try...

Patricia, Any Indigo Spires left? Lost mine in that weird storm we had a few nights ago.

Silverfluter, Any Aztec Gold Daylilies left? Always room for another daylily!

It's late, and if they're already spoken for, I absolutely understand.

CJ

ceejay, I've got your name on an 'Indigo Spires' salvia.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Ceejay....I'd be interested in your Gaura lindheimeri 'The Bride' if you have some left.

:) Kim

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

CJ ...I will put your name on var. sweet flag, but that isn't enough for my wants from you so see me there and get a art piece or something please.
I am excited and the count down has started!!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Ceejay, I reserved 3 Penstemon and 3 Phlox for you.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Right now I am unable to edit my earlier posting, where I am keeping tabs on what is promised to whom, but perhaps tomorrow it will work.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Cj, I'm not sure if Josephine has Russian sage, but I do and I can put your name on one. I'll put your name on a daylily. BTW I have 2 1 gallon pots and 2 2 gallon pots of daylilies. It was a huge clump. And I dug it up all by myself, thank you very much. I couldn't have done that if it weren't for all the compost and stuff I put in that bed. I know how hard my dirt was when I was digging those beds.:)

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

I have an iris question. I dug up irises today, trimmed the leaves and roots, washed them and layed them out to dry in the shade. Now they are in the garage in a box. Can they stay that way until the RU or do I need to do something else like put them under mulch or in a plastic bag? I'm talking German irises.
Then I dug up La irises. Somebody here said something about putting them in a plastic bag for transport (I think). Is that right? They are also washed and dried in the shade.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Mary Lee, the German irises (TB irises) do not want to be in plastic and will not be harmed by just sitting in the box in the shade until the RU. LA irises like moisture, so I'd give them moist mulch. A plastic bag with damp paper towel will transport a LA iris just fine.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks, Mary Lee. I probably got myself all mixed up looking back. Yes, daylilies aren't fun to dig up and divide. (And neither is cardamom ginger )

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

TARogers5 may I please have 2 of your giant tree cholla. I love these.

Thanks,
Sandy ^8^

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Cj, I can just imagine what a root system for one of those must look like. Are they tubors? I was hoping my DH would dig up those daylilies, but he was never around and unoccupied when the time was right. So I decided to just see what I could do by myself.:)
Patricia, thanks for the info. I'll do that this morning.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Sandy,
I got a blank d-mail that might have been from you. D-mail must still be having problems!
If you did sent a message, please try again.
Thanks,
Patricia

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Howdy, If the LA Iris are put in a bag for shipping and there is just a touch of moisture, then they will stay fine for several days as long as they stay cool. If the bag is sealed the air will stay at 100% humidity. If you have picked the iris and plan to deliver them a week later, Keep them cool with wet feet. If you are going to keep them longer than a week, Put them in damp soil.
-Bob

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks, Bob. I guess just to be safe, I'll put them in dirt. Don't know when new owners will be able to plant them.
I have a request from a good friend of mine who loves yellow flowers. I'm giving her a pot of Happy Returns daylilies and Iam wondering if anybody out there might have some more of these to share/trade. I may already be getting some since some people are bringing daylilies for me, but I don't know what kinds they are bringing. She likes Happy Returns because they are a really strong yellow.
Thanks, Mary Lee

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Hmm, the same thing happened to me. Sandy, I got a dmail from you that had no post?

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Same thing happened to me, but I checked Dave's Garden forum, and he says everything should be OK now. Just repost. It worked OK the next time...

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

This is April right? Why is my October Rose blooming? I thought I read somewhere that this thing only blooms in the fall.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

My hyacinth bean vine (still small) is blooming and it doesn't bloom until late summer. I guess the winter was so mild they think it's fall already.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

That extreme heat wave we just had a week or so ago, must have triggered it.

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

May have to work Sat here, just found out today....

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh noooooo..... Did you tell them you have a very important family function to attend?
