Tell them you plan on being very, very sick.
Texas Roundup TRADING LIST
No, you don't want to miss the first Statewide RU hosted by the Dave!!! You got to play sick or something!
Will there be an area for "please take me home" stuff. I'll be bringing stuff, but not for anyone in particular, just for anyone who wants them. Not even sure what I'm bringing. Not much, though.
Debbie,if you don't make it to the R.U. can I send the Desret willow to you with someone?
Does anyone want any tung oil trees?
CJ
Oh, yeah, there will definitely be a BIG area for "please take me home" stuff, Jorge. Bring it all along! :-)
Oh, yes. "Take me home stuff". Excellent idea. I'm bring some of that too.
Me too... I am piling it up out there...:)
Sheila_FW I would like (2)Golden Varigated Sweet Flag Ball if you still have them and (2or3)ball type cactus pieces.
I need to find something to bring for one of your plant stands. They are absolutely gorgeous. Let me think about what I have.
Thank you so much.
Blessings,
Sandy ^8^
Hey Sedrick, my pitcher plant is long gone too. I really liked it but guess it did not care for me. And yes I remember the coleus. I am getting excited.
I need to find a room for fri night. Anyone know something close to the RU?
Here is a link for hotels that Dave gave us early on.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sll=30.632484,-96.329198&sspn=0.024187,0.034075&hl=en&q=hotel&ll=30.635438,-96.322718&spn=0.024186,0.034075
Four of us are staying at the Comfort Suites Aggieland. I am sure there may be some staying closer, but I don't remember the name. This one was only a year old so should be nice. Hope that helps.
Just another note. If when you first pull up the link hit the down arrow on the map (3) times and the up arrow (1) time. From that point you can see the Southwood Park where the RU is. It is close to where Texas and Hwy 6 come together on the Southeast side of CS.

The var. swt. flag I have is this one. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/54899/index.html
Oh and ILJesus, I have you down for both, sorry I forgot to address that!

I'm working on being so cantankerous and grouchy they won't want me around Saturday...need to get back to that!
We're staying at the Quality Suites in College Station [3610 Highway 6 South, College Station, 77845; (979) 695-9400]. It's pretty close to the park, too.
Are you saying you don't have a golden variegated sweet flag ball?
Well then I am not coming!!! ROTFLOL Got to show how dumb I can be I guess??
Thank you for both that is what I wanted.
Hi all I know I was just here. I just want you to know I am taking my Linky to the vet. I am not sure he will be coming home. We know that coming to the round up is what we should do and not sit around and
mourn our 16 yr old baby, but sometimes what you do and what you can do are 2 different things.
Leaving now Please think of me.
Blessings,
Sandy ^8^
Sandy, I'm really sorry about your pet. I refer to our cats as our 4 legged children. It's very hard on everybody when we lose one. Ours are atleast 11 years old. It is difficult to imagine this house without them around. Sending you prayers.:)
Mary Lee
I went to Schumacher's today to get the rest of my seedlings. I have 18 frostweeds and 18 Brazos penstemons in 4 " pots. They are awsome! This is absolutely the best way to do seeds - for me atleast.
I don't know about the wine cups though. Some of them recovered from transplanting and some didn't. I'll try to dig some more
BTW when I was at Schumachers, he showed me all the Brazos penstemon seedlings. (They had transplanted them to 4 " pots since the last time I was there.) There were atleast a dozen flats of 4" pots on the table ready for sale and more than a dozen flats of those little cell things that hold atleast 30 seedlings each. This guy is really good at propagation! He was very grateful for these seeds, because that was a plant he didn't already have. Anybody that lives in or near New Braunfels and wants to learn propagation should go see him. Everytime I've been there and worked, he has sent me home with free plants.
No fear silverfluter--I found a source for perennial winecups.....I'm "wearing" them down at work and reckon' they will relent and let me not work "overtime". I'll be driving up alone, I guess, on Sat morning real early. I may have to dig up these oxblood lillies and divide them when I get there....not much time left. Is there anything else I'm supposed to bring? Shall I bring all my seeds ya'll? I have a gazillion....
Debbie
Do you have any Henry Duhlberg sage seeds? I really want one of these. I even have a space picked out for it. And Chip Schumacher said he had never even heard of it, so If I can find some seeds, I know he'll let me plant them in his greenhouse. Then I'll have enough for everybody at the next RU!
Our Linky is gone. He was not any better and the vet could fell his intestines in knotts. He said it probably meant he had cancer. He said you should not be able to feel them like he could.
I stayed with my little man. I haven't told DH yet. My head hurts something aweful. I will let you know what we decide. Just keep us in your thiughts and prayers.
Blessings,
Sandy ^8^
Sorry silver--that's one I don't have...Are we doing a fall RU? If so I will have time this summer to grow alot of stuff from seed and cuttings (off work--amen--June and JUly).
Debbie
We had a fall RU in Kerrville in 05 but I have no idea whether that will happen again.
I'm adding hot lips sage cuttings to my list. I'm embarrassed that I didn't think to put this on my list. It's such an outstanding plant. I am assuming that you can root it like a rose. If bringing cuttings in water won't work, please let me know.
Kim and Sandy, would you mind terribly if I mailed your hardy amaryllis bulbs to you later. I was out there trying to dig those things up this afternoon. The ground is damp, so it's soft for digging, but they're still blooming some. If I wait till the leaves wither and store some energy in the bulb you'll have a better chance of getting a bloom next year, I think. I was actually trying to dig up just 2 since they are not dormant yet. I dug down atleast 10 " and still didn't find the bottom of the one I was aiming at and it was a very small one. I decided it would make more sense to spend the same amount of energy later when they are dormant and dig up the whole clump. That way you'll get more bulbs too. There's probably a dozen of them there.
I'll take one silver and pay the postage too (begging on knees--LOL).
Debbie
Sandy, sorry for the loss of your dear Linky. I worked for a vet 20 years or so ago and I never encountered a family that didn't feel very close to their beloved pets. But sometimes we have to consider their pain. They do become a part of our lives and thoughts. I hope you are going to join us, it will be a good and much needed distraction for you.

Oh, Silver, ty, ty, ty!!!
Salvias are a snap to root. That is how we propagate them here @ the Farm all the time. You have first pick of whatever I get up there with!
(Digging out my root-on!!)
OMG Sandy, I know just how you feel, if something was to happen to Sedric I dont know what I would do.
I sent Sandy a d-mail & reminded her about the Rainbow Bridge.
Don't want ya'll to think I am uncaring.
I had to put my Princess down @ 19 & she was my only child!

Sheila_FW that is why I took him. He did not seem in pain but I had to know. The first thing I told the vet was NO heroics. If it was time, it was time. Linky seemed to have good quality of life but I could not keep the weight on and diarhea gone. So we knew it would get worse. We set our selfishness aside and thought of Linky.
I have seen too many people let their animals suffer with problems not cureable. Mostly family not wanting to go thru it. Putting their feelings before their pets suffering and pain. And I refuse to be like that.
I suffer now, But "The man of my dreams" doesn't. His spirit is no longer stuck in a painful body.
Ta Rogers, do you still have a beef steak plant? My neighbor who feeds my cats for me when I'm gone wants one.
Thanks, Mary Lee
Sandy, Sheila's right. You need to get out of the house and be with green growing things and gardeners!:)

Debbie, I've got you down for a hardy amaryllis when they're dormant.
Mary Lee...no problem here waiting for the bulbs until later. Right now I don't know where I'd put them anyway...lol. I'm going to have to make another bed! Good thing is that the first ones I made are starting to settle in now. Two of the daylilies have buds and the hibiscus stopped drooping. And I think I finally got rid of the fire ants....for now.
Oh I am so hoping that Cleo is on her best behavior while you are here. She has become more grumpy lately, I think because I haven't been home much. I spend so much time at the lab, and when we were in OH I got home at 4pm so we had more time. She is going to be traveling back to my parents farm in a couple weeks so that she will be happier. It makes me sad since I have had her since she was 5 weeks old, but I think she will have a better life there, at least until I can get through school.
Sandy, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your pet. I too understand the pain of that loss. Just concentrate on the happy memories and you will make it through.
Ok....now back to cleaning the house...
:) Kim
siver--I'm gonna have to loan you my 17 yr old daughter as a personal house servant for all these plants! LOL
edited to say I looked back up there and saw you wanted LA iris..do you want a purple and yellow unknown variety...If you got to that thread by bullnettle "what's blooming" in your garden there's a picture of it.
Debbie

Debbie, I checked my Haves list and I didn't see your name on very many things. Did I forget to add your name to something?
BTW I also have several salvia greggiis I can take cuttings from if anybody wants some. Can I bring these in water or do they need to be in dirt right away?
Silver--I "edited" while you posting look up...I'll dig it up for you after work if you go over and look at the pic and want one like it (actually I can dig that one up...it's on the "edge" of the bed! LOL
That's a wonderful blue Debbie. I wish I knew whether I have that one or not. I have one called Delta Star that 's supposed to be blue and yellow (Ithink). It hasn't bloomed yet so I don't know what it looks like. None of my La irises have bloomed yet. Is that normal? But getting back to your question, yes if it's easy to dig up, I would like one please.
Marylee, I'll take one of the Hot Lip Sage. I LUV the bloom on that one!
See ya'll there. Don't have much to bring but a full sandwich bag full of Texas Star Hybiscus seeds (also known as September/October Rose). The blooms are of a deep plumb color.
Silver--it's really more of a purple than a blue...or maybe my eyes are failing me? I'll bring you one anyway...you can put it "off to the side" until you identify it.
Deb
