Thanks Debbie.
Hot lips sage cuttings coming for Kip, Smockette, dmj1218, Mitch. Anybody else?
Texas Roundup TRADING LIST
I'd like a hot lips sage cutting too please!
Kim
Adding Kim to the hot lips sage list.
I have a question about rooting this cactus orchid. Will it root only from a joint or if I cut between joints, will it root from there?
I would love some Hot lips sage cuttings. And any other sage or salvia anyone has I haven't already ask for.
Silver your answer is both. Just let the cut end dry out really good like a cactus and put in well draining potting soil.
Thanks, Sandy. I'll cut them today.
Silver, I would stick any salvia cuttings in water. They droop & dry so fast if you don't. Then they loose their leaves & they also need the cloriphyle (sp) that the leaves continue to produce even though they are cut fr the mother plant.
Did anyone mention Red Shrimp? I don't me the regular brownish one. This is really red. How about the White Shrimp? I could bring cuttings of these also if anyone is interested.
Marylee I would like hot lips sage cuttings please.
Smockette Save me some cuttings . Ted
By any chance, does anyone have the fringed puccoon (native)? I know some of you are really into native plants.
CJ
Been checking hotel rates all over today. They really are something. When is anyone getting there and who is nursery hopping sunday if I may ask?
DH gets off graveyards at 8:30 in the morning and we thought we would drive in tomorrow evening so He would feel good for the RU. And then not to rush off stay Sat. night and hang out with the nursery hoppers Sunday. But he is sleeping and I can't run anything past him. When is anyone else getting in? And curious who is staying for Sunday? Just confused after yesterday and so many places sold out of rooms.
Just thought I would ask.
Blessings,
Sandy ^8^
Sandy we were going to spend Friday night at first, but wasn't finding what I wanted in a room. So me and another DGer are coming down early Sat. morning; to the breakfast at Golden Corral first then on to the park at 10 a.m. We plan to spend the night Sat. night and will tour Martha's Bloomers Sunday when they open at 11 a.m.
DH and I are staying with Blue eyes Fri and Sat nights. I hope to go to MB Sunday.
I will be going down tommarow and staying the night at the Comfort . See you all for brekfast.
Dont know what I will do Friday night
I'm going to Brenham tomorrow to stay at my mom's, will meet people for breakfast at the Golden Corral. I'm Staying Sun night in Brenham, think I will be @ Martha's Bloomers Sunday also. (Not sure about that, some other family is coming in to Brenham Saturday and Sunday.)
Here's my (Incomplete, I'm sure) gift/trading list. I figured better to post an imperfect version than to not post at all!
I should add that most of these are pretty small, and in 2. 5" sqaure pots. Some aren't, but they're mixed in there.

Mondo Grass (1)
Dracaena Spike (1)

Already Promised:
Tomato 'Sun Gold' (seed packet), to dmj1218
Melon 'Charentais' seed, to dmj1218
Lime Mint, 1 to patrob
Grapefruit Mint, 1 to patrob
Ginger Mint, 1 to patrob
Dianthus 'Scarlet', 1 to silverfluter
Sianthus 'Spooky mix, 1 to sillverfluter
I've also got a fair amount of seeds , mostly partial packets. I know I have a full packet of are Alyssum 'Oriental Nights'. I've also got seeds for 'Prizewinner' and 'Dill's Atlantic Giant' Pumpkins to divvy up. Also some fun melon seeds from Baker Creek ('Tigger', 'Charentais', and 'Sakata's Sweet')-if anyone would like some of any of these, let me know. I've got two varieties of soybean seeds if anyone would like some.
Also, even though it's pretty much the end of the growing season here in Texas, I've got quite a few pansies and violas that are still going strong. I want to make room in my containers for next season's plantings, but I can't bring myself to rip out plants that are still doing so nicely. My guess is that since most of the folks coming are from Texas and the surrounding areas, there won't be interest, but if anyone would like some fun violas or pansies, let me know and I can bring some!
What do I want? Hmmm, it seems I haven't thought that through. Maybe I'll think of things later. I'm open to suggestion! (I have been eyeing fun tropicals lately, though.) But I'm up for almost anything!

ampy, I'd love to have just a start of your lime, grapefruit, and ginger mints. (I am trying to reclaim my herb garden from both the apple mint and huge digging dog.) I don't have interesting tropicals, but please check my list near the top of this thread and see if there are plants you would like.
Thanks,
Patricia
Ampy--I have a bunch of seeds I'm bringing (my entire seed box, actually) and you've got some seeds I'd like to trade for:
Sun Gold tomato and Charentais melons
I know I've got something you will like to trade for and I've got alot of those small seed baggies. Can we plan to meet and swap?
Debbie
Would anyone be interested in some Vermiculite? I have hunted everywhere & can't find it in any of the normal places so I bit the bullet & order a bag fr BWI. The bag is huge & I will probably not use it the rest of my life.
I was thinking of packing up some bags & bringing them if anyone is interested.
There has been a lot of request for some where to purchase vermiculite, or perlite one. TArogers5 (Ted) is one I think might be interested. I am sure you would have some takers. I would like a bag myself also. You can look at my list on April 18th and see what I can put your name on.
Sheila, what would you call a good size? I was thinking sandwich ziplocks but I could make them quarts or even gallons. I have wanted some of this for yrs but couldn't find it anywhere. Then one day a was coding an invoice & there it was. So I got my order in with our wkly order for the Farm. Not hard to get at all once you know where to get it. It comes in 4 cu ft bags. Like I said considering how thin it goes on, on top of the soil, I would say I have plenty.
Linda, do you guys have crazy daisies? I know they are about past blooming, but Id love to get some of this to add to my other daisies. (I think they are a type of ox-eye daisy, the petals curl up over themselves): http://www.flickr.com/photos/maggieminder/132610109/in/set-72057594113421963/
Well, you know that they don't let the Bus Mgr out to run the Farm, but if you have a botanical, I will ck our inventory tomorrow. I say botanical b/c there are so many common names for each plant. But I know our botanical list is perfect cause that is one of my boss's pet peaves! I think I have heard ox-eye around the Farm.
LMK
Ampy, are the plants you listed spoken for? If not, I would be interested in some of the Spooky dianthus or the Scarlet. What can I bring for you?
Aha! It is a type of Shasta Daisy (but I hear the ox-eye is, also.) Shasta Daisy 'Crazy Daisy', Leucanthemum x superbum.

Thanks for checking on this for me.
Patrob! I've got you down for those mints, and I have some other mints that I just haven't bothered to pull and pot runners of, but if you're interested, I will. If you're trying to rebuild a mint collection, I can probably help you along. Your canna caught my eye, if it's available.
Silverfluter: I've got you down for those dianthus! I love both of those cultivars, so I'm excited for you. Your entire list is quite tempting. I'd love a hibiscus manihot, and either a red zinger or a texas star, if I may be so bold? I'm trying to think of other things to tempt you with, are there any other dianthus that you're on the lookout for?
dmj1218, I'm glad the 'Sun Gold' seeds have a home (it helps with the guilt!) I look forward to trading with you saturday!
Smokette, I was about to order some Vermiculite so I would love some. I would be happy to swap plants, mushroom dirt, pearlite, greensand, peat moss or even purchase all you wish to part with.
Bob
Thanks, ampy, I'll be delighted to get starts of any mints you have time pull a runner of. I have only apple mint and chocolate mint left of what used to be a pretty nice collection. I have you down for a pot of 'Red Stripe' cannas.

ampy, I'd love to have one of your Bougainvilleas.
Ted, I have your daylilies up. I wasn't able to divide all that I have, but there's at least 5 different ones. I had food poisoning yesterday & am pooped today.
Is anyone else staying at Best Value Inn? We're coming down early tomorrow morning since we have a high school band banquet tonight.
Ampy, how about some bright red pentas and ornamental pepper? I'll put your name on a Tx star and red zinger hibiscus. The manihot hibiscus is spoken for. Sorry. I'm curious what the Alyssum Oriental Nights look like.
I'll take any kind of mints ya'll feel the need to find homes for! LOL
Debbie
Debbie - You are very brave! LOL
Looking forward to meeting you all tomorrow. Now to go take my cuttings....
CJ
Ceejay--they'll have homes in pots!
Debbie
Debbie has a really neat backyard garden and her herb pots really make a great statement there. I forgot what thread her pictures are on but I remember them.
Smockette, I will take some of the vermiculite also, which of my available plants would you like?
Josephine.
ampy - Do you have any curry or oregano left? If so, I'd like some. See my list too - ls there anything you'd like to reserve? (I'm bringing extras of most)
The car is loaded. We couldn't squeeze another thing in if we tried! I told DH, "It's sure a good thing we stopped potting when we did!"
See all y'all (all y'all are familiar with that phrase ;-D) tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
CJ
Open....open....open.......! or ....I'm too excited to sleep!
Frostweed, got anything that is deer resistant? hehehe
I'm not picky & I will put your name on one. NP
(Sorry for the spelling, I was still @ the Farm..How do you spell stress?)

This LA iris I got for silver is just huge...maybe bigger than my toyota...LOL...the oxbloods and seed box is packed and ready to go! Rain, rain go away...little Debbie wants to play....
Sheila--its on a thread called "edible landscapes" on the vegetable forum.
The Dodge dealer loaned us a strange looking vehicle (Magnum) for the week-end because they keep having to order "just one more part" for my old Jeep, which they have had for 10 days. I dread seeing the final bill. The loaner is absolutely full of plants, and I have been trying to squeeze in a few extras. The overnight bag may have to hang from the clothes hook! Storms are beginning here, and I came in from last minute digging because lightning was crackling overhead.
We'll see all ya'll in the morning! (I can't imagine living anywhere but Texas!)
