Hi Girls!!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Ohhhh! You guys had too much fun! I *love* the shot of all the girls in the wagon. That's so great. :) :)

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Jazz, I see that chele was worn out enough to not get on DG tonight. You really must of had her working today.
The kids all look so sweet and I can tell they had a wonderful day.
The chicken coop, well, I would have thought that would be down by now. Or is Chele waiting to use the flooring for mulch???
Some one needs to frame the picture with maddie. That is so adorable. Is that chele's DH or yours?? She looks mezmorized by him.

Oh how I can't wait until its me doing all that hard work. And NO you cannot quote me when the time comes.

We are finally back home. :) I was not on the computer because I did not have a computer! Panic!!!! I did not have cable or satellite tv, no vcr or dvd player and no computer! I sure get a lot done like that. LOL I did still have the six girls with me to drive me insane, and um, er, entertain me.

Thanks to jazzpunkin and family for helping out yesterday. I kept them busy planting for almost two hours then loaded them up with carbs. jazzpunkin got her shrimp! After that, jazz and I hung out in the kitchen nibbling while her husband explored the fields then loaded the kids into his truck bed and drove the kids all over the fields. After I cleaned up lunch, we went out and chatted for a bit, then they had to go.

After that, Maddie had enough and was ready to rest. She just wasn't ready to sleep! Once she settled down, we went back out and got all the tropicals put in the garage and started seperating the other plants. It had already been dark a while and it seriously cooled off! We called it a night, lounged and watched TV.

We ventured out early this morning in search of donuts and coffee but NOTHING was open but a little diner and they only accepted cash. So we drove around, found and ATM and went back to "The Family Diner" for breakfast. That was the ONLY place open! It was pretty good. :)

Kristenne and I managed to plant about 2 more wagons full of plants and she helped me sort plants for a bit until she got cold. I sent her in for a hot shower, finished sorting out plants, mowed half the front yard then got my own shower. It was 48 degrees this morning. Brrrrr.

I didn't get as much done as I needed to but a lot was accomplished. Now that I am back home, I think I will deal with laundry and packing for a bit and head back out for digging tomorrow. Brrrrr. Did I mention that? Brrrr!

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

48º, that sounds like a heat wave!
Before you know it, you will be out there for good. Looks like the girls enjoy it, too.
Have a great day!
Bernie

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

You stop that Mr. zone 4! LOL I actually turned on the heat last night!

Time is flying by yet standing still. I'm eager to get finished moving and get this house sold!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Mr cold weather has arrived in OK . we are to have light freeze tonight
I hauled flowers to green house mumbling how dose she do all this and with kids
40 pots and i am pooped achy cold ,and totally NOT ready for cold . last week was high 90 °maybe it because 63 years old has a few draw backs .
Looking good there you have done more in a few months, then i have done in Few years LOL

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Funny you should mention that tazz! I shoved about 10 bananas, 20 brugs, 30 or so pots of ears, all sorts of tender bulbs about 50 hem seedlings and I don't know what else in the garage last night. I have to say in a garage this big, they don't look like much and take up about 1/3 of it. LOL The brugs were banging the rafters on the way through and those and a lot of the ears are in 15 and 25 gallon pots. They sure are heavy! I think it took me and a couple of the kids about 2 hours to get them all in there. Guess I'll straighten them up later.

tazzy, it looks like your cold front is heading our way, although I think we'll dodge the freeze alert bullet for another week or so at least. (I sure hope so - my Vigna caracalla is still blooming on the arbor, and my tender pond plants are still pretty happy in their summer home. Guess it's time to get serious about moving stuff into the GH and winterizing....sigh.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

We turned our heat on last night, too, Chele!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

These are the named hems I didn't get planted this weekend. :( They are staged there, three deep. The bad news-I still have about that many more still in the ground at this house. Sigh. I am trying really hard not to feel defeated. I just keep telling myself I can do it. LOL I think I am going to need one more bed NOW.

Thumbnail by Badseed
Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

This is how the beds looked when I left today. I guess we got another 75-100 plants in this weekend. I spent a lot more time on clean up and organizing than I had intended. It does not help that it gets dark so early and waits so late for the sun to come back. LOL

I don't even know if the changes are too subtle to notice in the pics.

Jazz posted a pic last night of all the plants I still had to plant. This the same area when I left there at 1:00 this afternoon. All the plants either got dragged in, planted or sorted for later planting. The plants still there are perennials and grasses. Guess what? I have more of those here too. After I got all the plants moved, I went ahead and mowed. There is a bad, wet, low spot there!

LOL Oh, that is the $64K coop in the back. :)

LOL Darius! I am really looking forward to winter so I can slow down and spend time painting and redecorating. I am also hoping I can find some type of engraver and something to engrave, as new nameplates for my plants. I am getting tired of writing over them. :)

More fall colors...

Last one for today.

It is interesting now, as the leaves fall from the trees, to see my neighbors on the one side and also a house back behind us. We have stopped to chat with a few people that all seem very nice. No one has stopped by our place yet. One person we stopped to talk to said he gets home about dinner time and kept waiting for someone to be there so he could say hello. He laughed when I told him we come down to work in the early afternoon. LOL I guess things will change in a couple of weeks when the kids start school out there and we are there most of the time.

Chele, it is really pulling together for you there. When are you planning on being out of the old house completely? OH, and I want to see an old picture of where you had all of these plants before. I am jsut amazed at the amount of work you have completed so far. I would need to take the winter break in a coma to recoup from all that.

Chele your gardens were beautiful, no wonder you don't want to leave anyone behind. Only love can make a garden like that. Thank you.

True ispiration for me.

Darius, you are paying attention to this right. LOL

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Oh is that lambs ear??? I love that plant. I can only get it to grow during the spring, by mid May its on ites way out. The heat is just to much for it here.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Oh, yeah Casey... I'm following every moment! In fact, I should be there to help her with the old house to get it ready to sell....

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

It's been fun following this journey, Chele. I get tired just reading about all that planting! And I have a name idea --- have 2 sister's with 6 kids (each! LOL) and the one was gonna put SIX PAK on her license plate, but decided it probably wasn't a good idea since her DH was teaching at a Christian High and the students would think of beer. :) So... (something-Borderline?) SIX PAK Nursery ?

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Kooger, that is cute. Wow, both sisters have 6 each??? Wow.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks for the compliments. I'm not so much on a mission to take every plant. I am leaving a bunch behind. My gardening style is just so, well, huge and um, cottage, that I don't think anyone else would want to deal with it. Mowing here takes no time at all, but trimming is a much different story! LOL

I have beds all around the foundation on every side. I have beds going up both sides of the fence line. I have a large garden around the pond which is 10 foot round. I have a large butterfly garden and another bed all the way across the front yard that turns and goes up the side, toward the back. I am afraid if I I leave all those beds, full of plants that I will come back one day soon to find them tilled under. SCREAM!!!

Casey, most of my original plants were grown from seed and I started trading those to get variety, about ten years ago. I planted everything I had in threes and more than one group of three and as I got other stuff in, I traded out the extra groups until it the beds filled in and I had to build more. My very first lambs ears were seed grown. :) Inevitably several people a year, stick a couple in with a trade though. LOL I often give 20-30 pounds away for postage, toss a bunch, etc. I used them to border the bed when I didn't have many plants and they looked nice so they stayed. I just cut them off as soon as they flower.

Darius, are you heading to Ohio or just playing? LOL

Kooger, my kids have been affectionately dubbed "the six pack" for a bit. I was trying to remember where it came from. I think I posted when I found out I was pregnant and called it something like "I'll have a six pack". I can't remember if it was used before that or not?

I have to laugh about family numbers. People often ask if we came from big families. Hubby came from a four kid family and so did I. My sister has four and both of my brothers have four. We just decided not to quit. LOL Hubby has a brother and a sister that have two each and another sister that has three kids. He has uncles with 2, 5 and 10 kids though. The ones with ten kids always ask when we will have more kids. ;)
