My grant application is done! My grant application is done!
Life begins. (Although I still have to drive it across town on Monday morning. It should have been in today, but they said first thing Monday would be OK. Better than driving across town in the rain at rush hour today.)

Marcia, I've been with the food cupboard since it was set-up in 1988. Wasn't director at first, but was the volunteer who developed most of the proceedures and forms, etc. Stepped back in 1994 when we hired a full-time person who promptly got pregnant. So, I stepped back in during her mat leave. Guess what! She didn't come back to us. I didn't want a full-time job for long; so we split it. That worked well for awhile, but the last other person working with me was less than competent. Not renewing his contract left us free to hire a full time person again when I leave at the end of January. I love it, but I'm getting tired of shiffling stacks of client files three times a week. And it's time for somebody with more energy and ideas to take over. The job is posted on the Food Cupboard web site:

What has kept me with it for all these years is the profound conviction that no kids should go hungry no matter now messed up their parents are. And the other interests which periodically force me to step back a little - teaching music, playing viola in two orchestras, and editing the newsletter for the Canadian Viola Society, have kept me sane (maybe?)

Anyway, gotta go make dinner.

A question for Marsha before I go to the new thread. Why are you remodeling the house if you're moving? I ask this because a realtor I worked for trained me to understand that you probably won't get back the money you put into remodeling unless the walls and carpet are really awful. Just curious......
