Worst thing about DG?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Wow, disappearing keyboards! That's a good one!

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

I usually leave the keyboard & remove the power cord (the pins are less fragile than the ps2 pins).

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

We've also just put screensave passwords on temporarily so they can't use the computer. Works well too.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Well, thankfully my kids have not "found" the internet yet. I don't think their computer even has a modem in it. My oldest is only 61/2 so I see no reason he should be on the internet. However, they have some games that only play on my computer because it is running XP and theirs is running 98. We would need to upgrade some stuff to run XP on their computer, but don't have the funds to do that right now. I did tell him the other day that he needs to ask before he gets on my computer....it has worked a little, but he forgets quite often. They have been having a great time on my computer today cuz I am sick and haven't felt like getting on till now. Woke up with little white spots all over my tonsils this morning! YUCK!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Both daughters are off working , but Dh will be home any moment from pheasant hunting trip. He'll want the computer to unwind & I'll get exiled. But that's better than having him watch & wait over my shoulder!

hmmm. Maybe the shock collar would work on him and get me my share of puter time!

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Maybe another machine, networked so you both have one to use?

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

It's okay. Liz will have netzero on her laptop soon. Bill & Amanda can fight over access to the puter and I'll just hit it really late or really early. I can always slip into Dg at work if I'm desperate--but then I never get any work done!

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh my gosh, Brenda! Why didn't I think of the disappearing keyboard? Can't wait to try that one. LOL

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I can't take credit for that one.....I was the victim of such a punishment as a teenager. However, it was the telephone. My dad got tired of me being on the phone for HOURS and finally he took all the phones out of the house and put them in his trunk. When he got home at night a single phone came in to the house in the kitchen. I curbed my phone use rather quickly!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

So, how can I get my DH away from the puter so I can get my turn at home?
"Oh Look, Honey, there go 50 fat pheasants across the back yard...."

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL, Wanda!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I have no husband so that is not the problem, the problem is, I put all my plants in one room, also my TV right in front of me, my computer, and my Microwave, now if I just had room for the fridge.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

kareoke - you'll need a port-a-potty too! lol

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

do they make an office chair with that option, langbr?

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Poor Kareoke, you have to climb three stairsteps to the fridg, but there is room for a motel size in the cabinet under the microwave
LOL
and you never answered my question:
what is the little carved/pottery critter about to attack your mini greenhouse?
A kitty? nope no tail, a bear then? nope pointy ears, owl?/...
Any way, that's a perfect size greenhouse - DYI or store bought?
....heehee... ~Blooms

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

kareoke, my late DH used to say I could make a "nest" faster then anybody! Just give me a few days and I can gather all the necessities of life within arms reach! The only problem is leaving a path to get in and out *grin*
Pati

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Blooms that is scary, where did you see picture of my room? and yes it is a cat and it does have a tail *LOL* must have been in the Brug Forum, and your right, never thought of that, there is room in that cabinet :)

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Page up mid way this page Oct 18th 7:30 am
ROFL - I set you up heeeheee ~Blooms

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Booms you got me :) you see that book on my puter desk, that is my DG journal. I keep that handy also.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

By the way I see BOTH of my pictures (scroll up to Oct 18th) do you still get a red X

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Nope the dreaded red x went away that afternoon and picture appeared.
I suggested that size fridg cause my gal pal in LaSal got one for her smallish house and it has been perfect for her. She found one without a freezer compartment as she already had one of those.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Weez -- the office model is posted in the pic above by 76summerwind on Oct. 24th.

:-D

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Oh, yes! I'd forgotten!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

well if things at DG keeps going the way they are I guess I could put a bucket in the garage, the door is right behind me, since the bathroom is on the other end of the house.

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Move the computer to the bathroom, or wireless network and get a laptop? The wireless works for me as I can access the site w/the laptop when I'm outside.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Dyson, I better draw the line there, I think I do need a little time away from D|G> :)

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

But so nice to be able to take a pic, load to the puter, transfer it to dg, and view the results w/o moveing an inch, that way you can take another if you are not pleased w/the first, can save many steps.

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Kareoke, I can see your point. Besides, a laptop in the bathroom just means another lid you have to remember to put down.

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Weez your killin me lmao........

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

The worst thing about Dave's is that my office is windowless. I check here all day long and get great ideas for the garden, then it is time to go home and I go out into Michigan November and I am so disappointed every day! It's been warm for Michigan but still way too cold for my liking.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

*LOL* Weez your right

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

ahhhhhhhhhh!!
Too many people spend too much time checking and updating... and I've been in and out frequently at work this week!
Took a comp day Wednesday with plans of finishing up some fall cleanup and getting the garage shifted around to the winter layout. Wed didn't start till around lunch when I finally just left the house for awhile to break the surly bonds of DG.

broadband just makes it toooo easy!

8ft, that Kitty is toooo cute, my what a big mouth he has, lol, must be telling ya he's hungry, huh?

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

Ok finally my library is presentable.
I had to organize it for Thanksgiving since I had a housefull coming. It won't take long for it to become a mess again.

The center photo is a shot of my daughter and granddaughter on TG day.

The little closeup on the bottom left is a carving of the Goddess Maat from where I take my nick. She is the Egyptian goddess of truth, justice and wellbeing, which I wish for everyone.

I have grown to really enjoy this site, and the wonderfully nice people I have met more than any other group I have met. God Bless each and everyone of you and thank you Dave for creating and maintaining this wonderful website. Yvonne
