Worst thing about DG?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

WZG - I did that for the first time a week or two ago. Gosh I felt really stupid when I had to edit out my wrong post. Problem was I had attached a picture too and couldn't delete it from the wrong thread! Started some nice questions though about the plant I posted a pic of! LOL

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

I remember that, lanbr, it was a great pic and the 'mistake' turned out to be informative and fun.

I can't do a thing artsy or crafty! I'm hopeless. I can bake though, but I think that kind of handmade item doesn't last long as gifts go. I'm thinking I'll try a Round Robin again.

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

We ALL remember that one Brenda. LOL!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Crafts are a totally past thing for me. Did 'em when my kids were little - we'd all sit around the kitchen table and make decos for our tree and house and presents. Not in my busy life anymore. Sounds like a good time tho.

Langbr, I thought there were no mistakes, only fortuitous sidelines. [:~)

Does anybody else feel that when this thread goes to Part II we could rename it - WHAT"S GREAT ABOUT DAVE"S - we'd be telling the same tales, just wouldn't have that 'worst' word coming up on my list all the time. ~~ Blooms :)

I LOVE Dave's-- I'm trying to get all my local gardening friends addicted too! If a bunch of us are gardening fools, it won't look crazy--just a new TREND!

I wonder how long it took to read 260 posts...Hmmmmmm

What a hoot, meezers!

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

I'm over here laughing my head off, my Papillon always barked a lot, but got really irritating when heard ringing or people saying Hello on Tv or Radio!!!!!!!

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

That is so cute, Meezer!!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Never saw anything like it Meezers. LOL

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

If I add one more thread to my "watch list" I will not get anything accomplished, more than five feet from this computer!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Actually discovered I can get up and do a chore or two if I at least turn off the tv which also runs constantly. No kidding.. half the time it's just the weather channel. I multi task: eat, watch tv, check a thread on DG, read a page in my garden book. Start over.

Then run outside, be very busy for a coupla hours and back in for lunch and it all starts again. Laughing yet anyone?

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Too funny - you actually eat?

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Blooms,roflh....sounds all to familiar :)) ... How could we ever get anything done if we did not multi-task? Actually I think women have multi tasked since the beginning of time... lol... even before a computer... I can remember being on the phone, making dinner, fussing at the kids, and doing a shop list all at the same time.. and that was when I wasn't too busy... LOL...

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

oh wow, you're right... before computor waaaay before computor I had that kids, dinner, house, dog, cat, list, homework.... lordy how do you with kids etc find time for DG - never would have happened for me. Had all I could do to just hang on during those years.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Me too, it's a God's Wonder we made it .. lol.. I look back to those days with fondness now... but I sure wouldn't want to do it again ... It is all I can do now to keep up with the grandkids when they visit... :))

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

I think those that have always multi-tasked as just a routine way of life live longer, happier, and more fulfilling lives. I just shake my head whenever I hear of somebody that has retired from a career and dies within a couple of years or becomes very bored and depressed because they treated their career as their single task in life. I quit the high tech rat race a few years ago but even then I was raising kids, involved in numerous hobbies, social and community groups, travelled, etc. Since then I have owned businesses, done contract work, consulting, been self employed, and a couple of times taken several months at a time off from earning any kind of income just to focus more on other things I wanted to do. If I live to be 150 I just can't picture ever becoming bored. As long as the body will cooperate there will always be more that I want to do than their are hours in the day.

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

That's the truth about not enough hours in the day! Just had two days off and I really needed to take off today to get some of the "little stuff" done!

Paris, TX(Zone 8a)

I just read this thread for the first time, and would like to thank everyone of a fun fulled morning. I don't usually come to the General Discussion Forum, but this had been great. I'm even thinking about taking pictures of my computer set up. Now that's funny...pictures of the computer. lol

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Pville, I have never understood how someone can be bored... Life all around us... there is ALWAYS something going on... I subscribe to the 'so much to do, so little time' theory... :)

I have been thinking of taking pics of my puter (the command center) to put up here... but that would mean that I would need to clean it up... my desk is in glorious disarray. lol..

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

I used to have a Tee shirt that said:
'So many men, so little time'

Now I have a Tee shirt that says:
"So many weeds, so little time"

Here it is with the doors shut. I was thinking about putting my pothos ivy on top when I bring my house plants in for the winter. Does it look like there will be enough light?

Thank you so much. We got it at Furniture In The Raw, which is a place to buy unfinished wood furniture to stain or pain yourself. I have to be honest and admit that we bought it already finished, so I can't take credit for the beautiful finishing job.

Well, I guess we're all agreed.....there's nothing wrong with DG except the addiction. I really had to make up a routine for my mornings or I whiled away too much time. Up, drink water and take thyroid pill, turn on coffee machine, then do back exercises so my arthritis doesn't bug me. By the time I'm through with the exercises, my coffee is ready and I try to reserve only 1/2 hour for DG and 1/2 hour for e-mails.
Now that I went back to work, I have to observe that routine. I have to be up by 6:30 in order to do all that and drive to work by 9 A.M.
In the evenings, I don't worry about it too much as I can watch T.V. and surf DG. So I put in whatever time I want unless my ankles start swelling, lol.
I don't know what to do about my resolve to read more good books, but I'm working on fitting that in too.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Very nice, jdee! That is beautiful... but where do you keep all your papers and junk? Mine are all over the place... You can't even see the stand my monitor sits on... lol... Guess I really should try to take pictures of my puter area... I would have to clean it up ... hey, who knows what I might find in this mess...

Paris, TX(Zone 8a)

I have one of those plastic three drawer storage things from Walmart on the top shelf. What doesn't fit in there is stuffed into various drawers throughout the house. lol

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

aha... now the secret is out... hey, whatever works... I work in clutter... lol

Paris, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL!
