Worst thing about DG?

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Made me think of an idea for a new thread! What does it look like where YOU sit and chat at DG's!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee, hee! There would be an awful lot of office shots!

NW Qtr, AR(Zone 6a)

There's a thread already .. for just such as that .. Believe it was long started by Osteole ..!!

General Discussion: All of us have computers. Where does yours reside?

http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/446976/

Gives all of us an opportunity to display our pooter 'sittin' places !!!

Guess I could sneakk my camera in and take a pic of my office! LOL Sequee!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Very nice and comfy Blooms. Is that a soap opera on that screen? LOL

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

aha!! That's not Dave's Garden "home" on that computer screen. If we catch you doing that again, you will be severely punished! Just kidding, of course. But I had to check out the 'puter screen...

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Hahaha! I am at my real home now!! NO guilt!!! Well at least no guilt that I am not working.. There's cleaning, and I should 'work out' and petting my dogs, and and and

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Meezers, that is too my welcome to Daves page with watched threads and forums headings.

Sweezel, no that's Judging Amy - a night time soap opera i never watched at night.... but it goes well with DG.

Mags, okay I'll go post it there too, after I catch up with this afternoons thread watching. okaaay?

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL There is a new night time soap opera that I am watching - Desperate Housewives - so I can't really say much. :)

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Oops, sorry about that, couldn't read the screen.. !! squintsquint...Here's my computer area, DH's follows.

I just got a scanner to go with the printer I never figured out. Your setup helps me decide just where that desk of mine is going to live and how I'm gonna use it. Not to house the computor as I never put it 'away' but the other two things will fit I think and all I have to move is a very full dry sink shelf affair. Now, what'll I do with all *that* stuff?

Love your area, everything is so neat and organized and downright inviting. And his is definitely a room of his own. Great car collection ... oh wow his camera is a Mavica like mine. Big smile here. :))

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

I just happened to glance down at my keyboard and discovered the worst thing about DG! I go out and mess around in the dirt, filling containers, and without thinking I sit down at the 'puter and start typing away at something I see on DG. Now I realize I can just stay here and plant on my keyboard. UGH! Along with the yellow glaze on the screen from smoking (I know, don't preach) and the spatters of coffee caused by choking laughter at the Jokes and Chat Forum, I'm so ashamed! In other words, don't be looking for any pictures of my little corner of the world!!!

I got our scanner to work once and never again. Guess I need to read the book again. This is our office with new desk - set up 2 weeks now - bought it for Christmas last year! FINALLY!!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL Pati. :)

Kooger, no wonder it's so clean - it's still a new area. I looked at the pic before reading and was worried about you. hehe

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

that's the ONLY reason! Won't look like this for long and will never look like it again! altho the shelves on the side will help (not shown) I got letter trays - 4 or so for me (flowers, recipes, geneology, misc.) one for each of the kids and DH and hopefully at least we'll be able to find what we need to find when we need to find it! and better yet, I'll be able to get rid of their junk paper when they leave it all over the desk and I don't know if it's garbage or keep stuff!

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Probably a good thing you can't see the rest of the house!!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

ufta! amen!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Over cooked - did I say overcooked? I just destroyed my 3rd sauce pan in 2 months!!!

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

Pictures of computer room, LOL LOL LOL, you must be kidding, I would be rolling on the floor right now if I wasn't so glued to my keyboard, is this a (reality show), the rolling ball feels gritty dh says, LOL, why's the keyboard so dirty, from the yard to here, I washed clothes today, the buzzer keeps going on to tell me time to fold lady, but I'm stuck! I hard copy way too much, but I like paper too, I can take outside next to my plants and make sure of identifications, Where's my bills he says, where's my desk, it's here I said, really, get me my own, and I'll let you use yours, Are you on DG again, oh I'll be off in just a minute, snicker snicker, where's dinner, in the fridge I guess, or did I remember to go to the store, dah, my son's calling me from school, Mommmm did you forget to pick me up again, Oh no!!!!!!!!!

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

LOL I agree with everyone, I can't get enough of this site. It has helped me alot. I check it every hour or so. Picture of my computer area, LOL I am with hanna - if I could get off here long enough to make it presentable I would send you a shot, maybe around Christmas, lol, I clean everything up before decorating. LOVEEEEEEEEEE this site.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Just found this thread and have to agree with all.....addiction is the worst thing about DG. But it's such a pleasant, rewarding addiction!

Here's my throne and my little princess, Leah.

I just found this thread, too, and agree wholeheartedly! Brenda, I like your set up (as I sit here on the couch with my husband, holding my computer in my lap). He usually asks me a dozen times what I am talking about (specially when I start laughing). He said our club should be called The Garden Geeks!
Terrie

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I think I've heard DH mumble something about me being on DG too much.....I don't know though for sure, because I don't listen anymore. teeheehee

Terrie - thanks on the compliment....I just need to change that horrible striped wall paper that's been in here since we moved in 5 years ago. That is if I ever get off DG long enough when I'm in this room to even consider remodeling it!

The stack of papers to the far left of the pic is my fall order receipts I need to get in my Journal and my Eureka Daylily reference guide and a couple of catalogs. Behind that is a wire basket full of plant tags from the Spring/Summer plantings that also need to get in my Journal. *sigh* Lots of cold days ahead to do that sort of inside work though.

Also, note paper bag to the right of the monitor which is recently collected zinnia seed heads. Need to clean it so I can get it packaged away.

Last but not least in the gold foil glare immediately below the lamp (in the cubby) is some Park Seed Malva 'Mystic Merlin' seed I haven't gotten around to sowing in situ. Tomorrow...tomorrow...tomorrow....(my new motto)

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

sorry....wrong thread......

does this qualify as addiction when you have 3 DG windows open and you are posting to all 3 at once??? *geesh*

LOL! I really need to quit my job because it is causing me to get behind in my gardening! (If I get caught spending all of my work day on DG, I won't have to worry about quitting, tee hee)!

NW Qtr, AR(Zone 6a)

Yep, it sure does langbr .. but, you're still 'skating' the fringes ... hee hee

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Is it a lily making seeds Brenda?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

It's buds on a daylily. We were discussing what they call "bud builders" over in the DL Forum and I had meant to post the pic there. This was taken just last week and I've gotten a couple of blooms but not sure all of these will make it through the cold. Got down to 33* last night! Brrrrrrrr.......

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Meant to post a pic of the bloom I got last week. This one is called Beyond Riches

Thumbnail by langbr
McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

OH, I already had that on my want list Brenda and I think it is moving up. LOL I have a three tier list now and that one is definitely moving from level 2 to level 1. It really looks like I am going to be ripping a bunch of mature photinias out of the backyard next spring to make room for all the daylilies on my list.

Worst thing about DG: the ever expanding addictions! My newest is Daylilies and I am trying my hardest to continue to stay out of the Brug forum.

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Waaaaaaaah! I want that one. I need to move so I have room for everything on my wish list (and stuff I still have coming in from Alice's co-op)!

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

Langbr, Leah is beautifull, your desk area is just too neat looking or did you clean it up for us?!?! LOL
Beyond Riches, when ready, can I trade you something???? That is spectacular!!!!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Hanna - thank you for the compliment on the star of my life! :-D She's such a bright, inquisitive little girl. And better yet, loves to help Mommy dig in the dirt, weed and most importantly right now...plant bulbs.

No cleaning up of my desk here! I usually try to keep workspace in front of me open and stack thing up on the sides. I'm definitely a Stacker.

I'd be happy to share a fan of Beyond Riches next year. I got this one this summer from Maryott's and hopefully have a nice increase next year. Remind me in late Spring as I'll surely forget.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Brenda - your desk is very similar to ours. Great minds think alike!!!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Hey they are similiar! And a pain to put together and forget about moving once it's together.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Okay, you asked for it. LOL Here's my command post.

I have a whole room to myself for my crafts and computer, but this is the only corner you get to see. The rest looks like someone ransacked the room. I use this corner daily, so I keep a path cleared. Kinda.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

LOL, Joan. Sounds more like my whole house....wish I could confine ALL of my projects to just one room!
