This is great! Snuck up on me right after I changed some preferences and I thought *I* did it unwittingly and that everyone else has always had this fabulous look.

Liz, are you clicking on the Forum tab or Home tab to see your watched forums? You have to click on the Home tab to see your favorite forums and the Forums tab shows all forums. You can also make many changes to the home page by going to your Preferences and choosing "home tab" in the left side menu.

I love it, just love it, best thing since.....hummmm, since let me see now ......since........ me....(pssst didn't wanna say sliced bread). LOL

Hey Dave I like the new look!

One question though? To get to my journal, I click on the tab at the top, but once I get there I have no way to search my journal - can I put that in somehow?

No offense, I really like this one, but after watching it throughout the day I now know what it reminds me of:
Cabelas, reminds me of a shopping site rather than something homey! Boy, know I'll take heat for this comment, and wouldn't want to see any change except the ole logo, but makes me wonder what is next?
Now don't take me wrong, the tabs are easier anyway you look at it and it is an exceptional improvement, but it occurred to me that the layout (easy as it is) is a reminder of shopping on the internet.

Is it that is simply looks more professional now? I know in the past it looked like a personal website, pretty weak, actually, and now is looks much more real.

Anyway, if you have any specific ideas of how to soften the look (and take away the merchant feel, which we definitely DON'T WANT) please do let us know.

It is Awesome! The layout is very nice and it's easier to navigate. Just wonderful! The other was very "Homey" but it seemed to confuse a lot of people. I build websites also and as a designer I see it's better for those who have a hard time on the computer. Thanks

At first I thought perhaps the URL wasn't working. Thought maybe I was sent to a generic Dave's Garden somewhere in cyberspace.
Looks good, though.

The looks are great as well as the very quick load time for the pages. It seems to be even quicker than the other.

One thing I do like is that there appears to be more fitting on the page and less need to scroll.

Thanks for a great change.

Dave, so much more professional now, but just a tad commercial. I am reminded of a lot of "sales sites". The way it had appeared originally was more like a personal webpage (which wasn't good); however, now it looks much more authentic (like a real place to be on a web site). I just get the feeling there is a "contact us" and a "search for product" block somewhere (which there isn't). Maybe, it just needs to grow on me more.

It is such a vast change from the "homeyness" of DG and it almost stokes of too much professional, but you are a genius and to be commended for all you have accomplished along with your "crew behind the scenes".

I'll have to look a bit longer and closer for ideas of how to take away the "merchant feel". Obviously, this is just my personal opinion, but I think there is something missing and perhaps something more personal to be added, just not sure what, yet!

BTW, congrats on the best web on the internet!

I think the new layout is absolutely marvelous. I have been playing here at the computer ever since it first appeared as if by magic and I'm having a wonderful time with it. Three cheers for you and for the wonderful new look, Dave! As usual, a job well done!

Love the ease of navigation, the single login for all parts of the site, the additional watch/unwatch thread options, and I can't wait to play with the home page preferences (though the defaults are very close to what I would do already).

Oh, and my dinosaur P150 thanks you for making it as quick to load as the original, if not quicker!

I only miss the original logo, as it was so warm and comfy. :)

A much easier way to navigate from one area to another. The tabs are easy to see and are self explanitory for beginners and mor experienced users alike. I too liked the old logo but this new one is simple and uncluttered so it is not distracting from the tabs. The color choices for the different sections are all well thought out and easy on the eyes. Over all I give it a 9.999 on a scale of 1 to ten. The only thing that keeps it from being a 10 is my holding back a little for the next big suprise you spring on us :~)

All the tabs and info at the top are really nice and the way everything fits on the screen now is so nice too. I do miss the old logo. The new one reminds me of the 70's. But hey, the 70's were wonderful. All my children were born in the 70's. LOL
