My kinda man!!!
brenda's aka langbr needs a best friend
Brenda, you're just gonna have to share or clone that little dude!
To Brenda
Maaaaaaaaa. Maaaaaaaaa.
Jethro
P.S. from sharvis: The J wanted to send a message to his new bud Brenda, so I let him use my computer. BTW Moby, I just got it when you said KIDnap!!! Hehehe, chuckle, chortle, snick. That was really funny!!! For those of you who may be as slow on the uptake as I am, she's playing on the word 'kid', as in baby goat. Get it? Haw, haw, hee, guffaw ROTFLMAO
Chucklesnorts! I love you guys... LOL
The light bulb just went on...DUH! I'm going to the local zoo (it's small) there they have goats and get some of those little goat pellets!
sheep is good too. small, hard to collect.
How about Alpaca?? My neighbor has two of them and I've often considered asking her if I could take some of the poop off her hands, er--yard.
I just use an old straw broom and one of those big plastic shovels to get our goat poop up. Cow is too messy and chicken too stinky. Its all good for the flowers though.
charlotte
LOL & LOL & LOL
I got to Charlotte's little note on Chicken poop...and I started "busting a gut" hehehehehe Yes! It STINKS!! And that stink lasts for a L - o - n - g time! Don't bother to ask me how I know. :-D
~julie~ (who is having a really hard time typing...can't type and LAUGH at the same time!~)
Boy, is it late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHARLOTTE!
Well I'm getting in under wire too!!
Happy Birthday, Charlotte!!
Thanks guys, by the time some of you posted I was in bed with a belly fully of cherry cheesecake.
thanks
charlotte
Well that's a good birthday indeed! Mmmmm....
Absolutely!
Just stepping back in---I was in recovery from the shock of the Kentucky Round Up.
I think I'll trade a goat for Walker the Wonderdog. The only thing his poop is good for is chasing the bunnies away...
Hi Wanda! You don't want to trade YOUR best friend, now do ya? ...however, if he's really good at getting rid of the bunnies, I'll see if I can find you a goat! :-D (Is he any good with MOLES??? I pick Hmim up immediately! ...on second thought, I just remembered WHERE my moles are - in the middle of my flower beds! (I'll have to back off on that trade after all. ;-) )
~julie~
Hey, I'll GIVE Walker the Wonderdog to anyone!!!! Except my DH says he's a good pheasant hunter & our old handsome Whitey can't hunt anymore.
If my DH EVER brings home a German short hair again, he's DEAD MEAT!
I hear ya, Wanda!!! We had a German Wirehair once, and have friends that have Shorthairs, gorgeous animals...but a bit on the WIRED side. :-)
~julie~
WIRED? WIRED? You don't know the 1/2 of it! last year, he broke off iris & daylily scapes running thru the beds just for fun. He tore out over 50 plant markers & hid them under the porch. (I guess they got in the way of his running feet) It took until this summer's blooms to find out where they all went!
He tore a BIG hole in a couch cushion plus tore off a piece on the front of the couch. I repaired it & HE got the shock collar . Didn't chew the couch again.
We have to keep a gate on the stairs or he goes upstairs to steal & destroy stuffed animals. or to pee on the bedspread in the guest room...
We have to keep the front door closed or he crashes thru the screen to scare neighbor kids on bikes, skates or skateboards....
They tell me he will calm down by the time he's 3 or 4 --unless I shoot him first!
Ohhhhh...you poor thing. And I thought my cat was bad stealing my cuttings and taking my roses from their vase on the table. My cat (and I'm *not* a cat person at all...I rescued this one, then quickly regretted that move!) has "calmed down" to dull roar now, but if someone told me 3-4 years of the cr@p I was going through for the first few months...YEP! the animal probably wouldn't have made it for 6 more months. About the only *really* good thing about the cat is she knew what to do in the litter box and kept it that way. ;-)
~julie~
Maybe a trade for a goat isn't a bad idea after all, Wanda. ~evil grin here~
Ahhhh...Wanda I'm *SO* glad my little furry friends are finally past that stage!!! My 2 rat terriers are 3 now and they calmed down significantly in the last 1/2 year. Before they did they chewed holes right in the middle of a sheet rocked wall!! I think they must have started licking it and then when it got moist well then it was all over. Not once, but TWICE they did this. They chewed up window sills in my bedroom that are floor to ceilings windows and chewed on the footboard of my new cherry sleigh bed. If they had limited their damage to the outdoors I would have been so happy. They are great companions now and I love them to death.
Yes, but dont we love those "furbabies".
Oh. I forgot when we would "cage" him in the hall so he wouldn't have any mistakes or tear up the house from one year to 1 1/2. I got the wall replastered & painted now--he got down to the studs & was chewing on them.
he kept taking his pillow & tearing a hole in it so he could throw the stuffing all over his area. I kept putting it back together & then got tired of it. i let him lay on the bare floor for a few times. That worked. He's smart--just has his own agenda. Kind of like our older daughter....
LOL, Wanda! Good thing he didn't get through the studs or we'd all be reading about "House Crumbles to Ground in Cedar Rapids" in the headlines.
Wanda...you "gotta love 'em" right? (Actually, I'm thinking "Grrrrrrr" ANIMALS and husbands!!! Then when I think of it...in my case...I think they're a LOT alike! :-))
~julie~
Awwww, now Julie....some little mouse told me that your DH is pretty alright. Bringing home armloads of sale plants/bulbs. *wink* *wink*
Dang, Brenda...do you HAVE to *remember* all those nice *little* things I say about Eric?
:-D
~julie~
***BIG GRIN**** I'm kinda like an elephant and "never forget".
Now...let's see...what gets rid of 'elephants?' ~evil grin here~ LOL
~julie~
Let me see--no, I think husbands take longer to train train dogs. But I must admit that though my DH makes a mess wherever he goes, at least he doesn't chew holes in the walls or furniture! Yet....
LOL Hopefully Walker won't end up influencing your husband's behavior! But, if your DH ever starts exhibiting Wonder Dog behavior, it would be a good excuse to find Walker a new home! LOL
Well, I went to see millionaire homes today on a house tour. One had a seperate dog bath with sprayer, doggy towels & doggy wallpaper. Maybe I can convince Walker to run away from home???
Geez, Wanda...I think *I* would be the one to want to run away from home if I could get MY own bathroom like that one!
~julie~
well ladies, i'm back from vacation and it is nice to hear you all discussing brenda's choices for a best friend.
brenda i'm glad to hear that you have a new friend in jethro. now i must say, that i was hoping to find you a real live person when i started this quest. but...............i guess when your best friend is cow poop, and a live goat comes along, with all of the cow poop qualities, except a couple of nasty ones, and also has the added bonus features of being a live, breathing creature, well..................it just sounds like a match made in heaven. when does jethro move in?
The move in date depends upon when Charlotte feels she can let go of her little poop factory for a while. :)
Brenda, how much of your house & furnishings is edible?
Nearly all of it, Wanda!! In fact I figure if Jethro is hungry enough I'll have very little cleaning left to do and can spend more time outdoors in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Now, I have NO idea what I'll do all winter. I guess as long as he stays away from my computer I can DG and shop the winter away.
Debi - good to see you back posting. I wondered where you went off to, was hoping you hadn't taken a bad turn. Glad it was vacation.....any fun stories to share?
Hey Brenda...I have a NEW best friend for you...over here...http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/459562 You really *must* meet Susan. :-D
~julie~
Brenda, I cant let go of Jethro permanently but he might be able to visit or he could make a good pen pal goat. I let the goats out in the yard each evening this time of year to pick up the fallen persimmons so I will discuss things with him then. Dont worry about cleaning house, I dont think it would impress him. He is rather picky about what he eats so he wont eat you out of house and home. He does like to bite on clothing though so closets with closed doors might be nice. He is not a pygmy goat you know, probably weighs about 250 pounds so if he visits be prepared to have alot of hay on hand and keep your shovel handy !
Seriously, goats are great browsers if someone has land that they want to clear off without the hard work. They will eat things that are bad for them though so the human involved has to know what to look for.
Seems that Brenda might have more friends than she realizes since we have all worked to find her a buddy :)
Well, we love Jethro just the same, even if he's not coming to visit. Besides, what would you do the next time you need a little giddie-up for the posse??
jethro, you weight 250 lbs. holy mackeral! dang! i never heard of a 250 lb goat. but then again i'm not worldly about goats.
brenda, i'm sorry i should have gotten more information prior to having this fellow shipped to you. good thing he ain't going no were soon. huh? debi z
