Well now, BingsBell, Texians only have an itty bitty reputation for large scale braggin' goin' on ;) ...but I reckon each state should get their fair share of howdy do's for creatin' Dave's Garden co-administrators(?), err, something like that...lol So, to each state from which these fellows laud, thanks...lol
In all honesty, I was actually curious as to how many administrators monitor DG besides Dave and Terry....just a'wonderin'.... :)

REMEMBER: NO DISCUSSION OF CURRENT EVENTS
There are just a few folks with Admin beneath their name. There are three DG admins - Dave, his wife Trish and myself. If you send a note to the "Contact Us" link, you will receive a reply from one of us.
We also have two PlantFiles administrators (editors): Baa and Mystic who handle most of the PlantFiles error reports, plus corrections they spot themselves. (I try to help them out from time to time, but I think they're relieved when I leave well enough alone ;o)
kennedyh is the main BugFiles administrator, although any/all other admins can step in and assist him if he needs help. So far, he seems to be keeping his head above water, and doing a great job with this new feature.
But we also have many members who use their talents to do a number of "behind-the-scenes" work. From those who help with some specific areas of PlantFiles, to those who moderate the Memory Garden and DG events forums, others who organize all those DG roundups, and even one who creates these beautiful banners, using photos submitted by the incredibly talented photographers here.
And then there are all the members whose posts liven up the forums with great tips, advice, and wit, those who go out of their way to make new members feel welcome, others who keep us informed when a company in the Watchdog has closed, or a new one needs to be added....and folks who have a good sense for knowing when trouble's brewing and give us a nudge.
The longer I'm here, the more I appreciate the true community effort that makes DG "tick".
Love it!.... Well-said, once again, Terry! (She's so good with words, input, perspectives, and overall diplomacy it constantly amazes me, Folks!!)
Shoe.
I brag about DG as if it (he/she./they) were my favorite child.
I have been involved with quite a few forums and I have never seen one (actually many within one) work so well considering the number of people who are members here.
The rules are few but work efficiently to keep things moving with few problems. Now that is not an easy thing to do!
Any accolades to the people who work painstakingly to keep this place the quality it is are never going to be enough.
We who have found DG and have joined in, are having fun, learning more than we ever thought, and involved with others that are helpful and informative.
We have so much information within our reach and kept current by people who want accuracy as much as we do.
You can't get much better than that.
Thank you, Terry, for that wonderful clarification. :) I reckoned that there were probably alot of people sort of behind the scenes, as they say...just sort of making each and everything tick efficiently And to quote BingsBell, "you can't get much better then that." :)
Melanie :)
Dave,
I appreciate you.........let's keep our gardening forums limited to gardening. Others wanted to correspond on other matters can easily do it by E-mail.
=~) Thanks.
OK by me as it is the sensible thing to do. Baldeagle.
Dave & all, thank you for your work. I consider DG my "bad news free zone". Plenty of news elsewhere to burn my ears. Here I get to enjoy people who are happily growing plants and their families. that's enough for me.
Now can we get back to the Gardening, please. And Thank you.
is this just a reminder?? ave i overstepped? Oh please tell me...."Paranoid' the only thing i can think of was someone asked me abouth the fires and i said how thankful i was for the firefighters...
Mouth shut happily if i am over stepping..... eeeek!
I haven't seen any of your posts, but this is a thread that Dave started several years ago to remind everyone what's appropriate for discussion or not so it's not directed at anyone in particular. Did someone send you to read this thread as a result of something you posted?
not sure, i didnt have it on my watch list and then suddenly it was there!
dunno.....
I am sure dave would tell me himself if i was out of order..... i hope anyways...
Sticky threads like this one are automatically listed on the watched thread so that it will show up there any time a new post is made to it. If you are thought to be out of line you will be privately notified by Dmail.
ohhhhh cool thanks
Most likely it was already on your watched thread list, but was "dormant" because no one had posted to it for a long time. Someone posted just prior, so it would have "popped" back up on your home page.
Stickied threads only appear on your home page if you've opted to watch them. (The difference between a sticky and regular thread is that they stay at the top of the pile in their forum, even though other threads may have more recent posts.)
Dave *can* put any thread on everyone's "watched threads" list, but he only does that once in a blue moon ;o)
Terry (et al.),
Why, in light of all that's been said in this thread, do we have that patriotic 9-11-2001 ribbon at the bottom of every page? Re: your post of 3-30-2003 11:59 pm, it "sets my teeth on edge".
Carrie
Carrie, I put that up on 9/12/01 and haven't touched it since. That's why it's there.
dave
dave - Thank you!, if that ribbon is there until the very end of the time-space thing it will not be long enough.
THANK YOU for remembering.
"Lest we forget."
