How did you pick your DG name? Part 3

Yazoo City, MS(Zone 7b)

Ya'll have such great imaginations! Mine is simple...my initials YT and I am a nurse RN.
BTW, what does bump mean, as stated by Melissa yesterday?
Yep, I'm still semi newbie! lol

Yvonne,

"Bump" the thread to the top of the list so it's current and people can find it. (You do this simply by making an entry in the thread, bump is the word we use just to dsay something.

Here it goes:

All started when a foal was born with a white marking on his belly. Just happened to be in shape of a bone (leg bone , arm bone, no particular bone, just a bone :D ). I knew from my interests in veterinarian medicine that "ost" was the prefix for bone. I added -eon for masculinaty. (sp)

So a year passes and I begin this game called Asheron's Call. I loved Osteon, but wanted something more feminine. Therefore I replace -eon with -ole (Osteole). The board forums are a huge part of the gaming experience, I used my screen name there (still) for past three years. Now I have broadened my horizons on the internet but still continue to use Osteole. Its the virtual me. Everyone who knows me online, knows me as Osteole :)

Great to see some new folks posting. I think it's time I start a part 4 this one is getting pretty long.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Neat background on your name Osteole. That's how I am with Gardenwife...or GW. It's funny to meet an online friend for the first time and be called GW instead of Kimberley. I'll answer to either! :)

Lamar, AR(Zone 7a)

Yep!

I went to Pacific Northwest last summer to meet several people from an online gaming community and we called each other by our screen names. lol. Easier to remember :)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

I am what I am, I live in Tombstone and my name is Jan.
Pretty simple huh?

Weatherford, TX(Zone 7b)

OK, I dont grow pot(not since the 70's in my Moms dining room for a school project, hehe) I go into the city for a truck wash and I always seem to have weeds growing in the back of my truck. The guys named me weedlady.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

LOL@ Science project!!!!!

Mooresville, NC(Zone 7a)

My DG name is in remembrance of my dear departed dog, Ivory. He was a proud Samoyed, just a gorgeous and wonderful dog. He ran my life for about eight years, a decade ago. I still miss him dearly and use his name for every login id and any other opportunity I find.

I'm very unimaginative. J is for Jennifer, and dee is short for my Middle name, Deeann. Pretty clever. lol

Shangshui, Henan, China(Zone 7b)

Jianhua ( 'health+wealth' ) is my given name.
I use it anywhere at anytime.
I have not thought of changing it.

Southwestern, OH(Zone 6b)

Jdee, don't feel bad, I'm unimaginative too!

Ivory, neat way to remember your dog. :-)

Science Project??? I am still giggling over that one! Better to have the weeds in the back of your truck than in your garden!

Jianhua, it's a beautiful name, I wouldn't change it either. :-)

"You know you're addicted to DG when you go to start a topic, do a search first, and then spend the next 3 hours in delight at reading up on what you were gonna ask for!"

*then giggles at posting this in the wrong thread... NOT!*

When I decided to subscribe to DG after using the PDB feature so much, I first tried variations on "Thumper", as "Bambi" was always my favority Disney movie! :) "Thumper" also became a nick in high school due to my ticklish knees... nearby pep squad members would grab the closest knees (with very cold hands) in excitement during plays in football games and I'd start thumping the ground in reaction to them finding mine. LOL

I then considered CaribBEANQueen. It was a nick I picked up during my engineering career due to my love of both legumes and scuba diving, but I didn't want to either misrepresent my location or have folks wonder where the 'bubbles' were coming from. ;)

So I settled on "TuttiFrutti", the longterm nick I acquired early on for having a corny sense of humor. Ya'll might actually see evidence of that here when I become more familiar with the community!

Thought I had said, but guess not. Several years ago my very good friend Bob Brody passed away.Bob was a Scot,a poet and a delight to be around. We would sit on the deck or at the marina at our cabin and sip single malt scotch while he recited Robert Burns and 'philosophized'.Balvenie was one of our favorite brands and I guess I chose it as a rememberance of him.

Not very original here either - my initials are CW, I think I've been using it in various places for about 5 years or so.

NatureLover1950 should be pretty easy. I just love nature. If it can be done outside, I probably love it (yard work, vegetable/flower gardening, wildlife photography, hunting, fishing, you get the idea). A couple of days stuck in the house can really get on my nerves!

I grew up in Kansas, in tornado alley.
And I tend to take my time, now and then.
So slowtornado came out of the dust!☺
