New thread ...who is in on MG War???

(Zone 8a)

tiG a new thread is fine and thanks for your input but I am not running for a record thread...personally I think this is a long but interesting thread with lots of interesting subject that some others may enjoy!

I'm sorry you have a slow connection maybe you should change ISP's...

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, it's interesting at times. but things can be continued on another thread without adding to or losing what's on this one. I'm probably not the only one with a slow connection, but I guess we don't matter.

(Zone 8a)

Boy you answered fast! Of coarse you matter! What are you thinking?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm thinking that I want in on this, but it doesn't look like I matter. Dave even asked you way back in April to start a new thread. There's nothing in this thread that can't be carried over to a new one. Tons of threads all over dave's are continued. It's just polite to those of us that don't have access to faster connections.

(Zone 8a)

Well! Is it my fault that everyone keeps posting here? There have been new threads started and they always come back to this one!

I am a polite person also and I think some others aren't so polite!

(Zone 8a)

Don't post here anymore for I am officially closing this thread due to certain cicumstances of conflict! I am withdrawing from the mg war but will still honor my seeds to the winner of the prettiest mg! Someone email me to let me know who won! I am moving on!

Happy Mg'ing!

Why do people get their panties in a bunch so much?? I just found this thread and can't believe all of this. :( C'mon guys!

I'm on broadband (cable) and it took a long time to load even for me. tiG was polite and perfectly fine in asking that a new thread should be started. In fact, the thread starter never need be the one to split a thread to a new start - anyone can do it. Just post the old thread's link in the first post of the new one, and post the new one's link in the last old one.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh come on Imaseedpicker........I know you are just a big CHICKEN!!! and are wussing out on coming against me in the war. YOU know I will cream you!!! Since the day I declared war on you, you trembled in fear. Would a new upstart beat you? Would Johnny come lately show you up?? Come on now, who is as much fun as you in this war?? I am workening so hard to beat you to a pulp. Now reconsider, pretty please........... REALLY Rebecca......... we need you!!!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I find it difficult to understand how Rebecca can be blamed if others don't go to the new thread but come here instead. Rebecca, you brought me here, you surely aren't going to abandon me, are you? My mg crop was a dismal failure, thanks to weird weather, but I still watch this thread. It's the only place I can count on you posting, although I know you've been lurking for ages. At least come in here and give me that!

tiG, did you ever think of starting your own thread so it will load faster for you?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

4 people started continuations of this thread. It's been running since March. The polite thing to do for anyone is not to continue on with something after people asked to please go to a new thread. way back in April. Don't blame this on me, please. And for the record, it was asked a long time ago what was the record for views so I didn't just pull that out of thin air. This has turned into a big to-do over nothing.

(Zone 8a)

I have thought and thought about this conflict...and then I thought again ' why should I give up my membership because of this?'
And I am not going to...I would like to ask what is wrong with being proud of starting a thread that continues on and on? If this was someone else's thread I think it would probably be okay...

I was really proud of this thread and now it doesn't mean anything because of the controversy!

I realize that some people have an old computer and slow connections and I just assumed they enjoyed anticipating what would be posted next on this thread but I guess I was wrong as I was told... I hope the new one does good and this time for some reason I think it may!

Aimee...I appreciate your support and love you!!!

Kell...I'm gonna kick you where the sun don't shine!

I am not going to give up this thread!

Cheers!
Rebecca

No way! I like to deal in big numbers! If someone doesn't want to wait for it to load, it's okay, they can go to the others, but I think there is a lot to be said for a thread that can hold the spotlight this long. I have seen people start threads with exactly that goal, and you will never convince me they would have abandoned their babies because of slow loading. It is indeed something to make you proud. No one is forced to click on it, and those of us who do know it will take awhile. I use that time for useful things, like rearranging my puter desk, brewing a cuppa, checking my email, things like that. Ya just hafta use a little ingenuity. Hi, Reb, glad you came back, because a posse is a strenuous thing.

(Zone 8a)

Amen...Aimee!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

TRY IT IMASEEDPICKER............just try it..........LOL!!!

(Zone 8a)

Kell...I wish my leg was long enough to reach Cal but it is only about 2 ft! LOL

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

(Zone 8a)

I visited the new thread and it is just not the same as this one so I am not going to abandon this thread because it just feels right here!
I know it is long and others have to wait for it to load but like Aimee said no one has to post here they can go to the other one if they like! :)

Sometimes I come to this thread and just re-read all the posts and laugh and laugh at the craziness that this thread holds and I wish it could continue not because of a record but because of all the nice gardners there are on DG and enjoyment we all get out of it!

So that is my thoughts and I will continue on unless the webmaster has other plans!

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

I changed my haircolor since I have posted here. so you might not recogonize me. but. I sill can;t spell and I have no edit. so, bare with me.
Hope everyone is having a good time growing their glories adn trying new things with them. I knwo I have had fun. I dont; have as many this year as in past years. but. its stil been fun. I even sprinkled some at teh ladies house across the street and hers just started to bloom. She gets so excited when she gets up each morning. She has 3 kids from age 4 to 10, so, she needs a diversion in her life.
So, soon it will be time to harvest the seeds. OY! I remember the first time I saw morning glory seeds at my sister`in`laws house on her window sill....I told her she has mouse leavins on her sill. (hope I am allowed to say leavins) WOW! Did she get mad when she thought she had mice. I REALLY DID THINK SHE HAD MICE> I know better now. lol.

(Zone 8a)

Mings...where have you been lady? Changed your hair to what color? You look the same to me!

Love the story about introducing your neighbor to mg's...dosen't it feel good when you help others on gardening?

And the leavins I think is okay! LOL

Glad to see ya!

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

well, it IS after labor day. granny always said. dont; wear white after labor day. So. since I WAS a Really white blonde this summer. I went darker. I usually go alburn for fall. But. this year. I felt different. lol. I change my hair color like people change their........minds. Anyways. YES! it was such fun turning her onto morning glories. She saves the clover that grows in her flowerbeds. thinks its pretty. She loves dandilions too. She is the one I dug up and gave all my roses to so I could replace them with hydrangea. She is having a BLAST with Glories. She even comes home on her lunch break and checks for blossoms. its so exciting when new comers are exposed to flowers. Pass it On! its what its all about.

(Zone 8a)

Mings...it is okay now to wear white after Labor day! I saw it on tv! LOL So it must be okay!

You're neighbor likes dandilions? Yuk! I hate them they spread all over!

Yes, it is nice to help people with gardening and very rewarding too! Keep up the good work!

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

The deer ate my MG's, so next year I will be prepared. (Says here, heh, heh.)

DH installed a deer fence, and yes, I can't put everything in there but I was thinking of making a morning glory tower to be the focal point, right smack dab in the middle of the new garden design. Now that I have seen all of your lovely MG's I am not sure which one, though I have always been partial to the blue ones.

I have to finish the design on paper so we can get started. This will be the first one I have designed before planting, instead of as I go. All of the rest has been hit and miss. Especially with the deer eating everything in site, well almost. I now have a lot of volunteer rosemary plants all over the place. Some I just leave, but must remember to keep them cut back. The first one I ever grew is HUGE!

It's wonderful what you all have done with these lovely plants! Thank you so much for sharing your pictures and your stories.

(Zone 8a)

Mings...sorry! I got it!

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

:)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Evelyn, sounds great! I had one several years ago and it was prolific! I had it growing right in the middle of my garden in the back. This year when I am obseesed I can't get one going. I will say this year I am growing fancy ones, that good year it was a common one from HD.

Imaseedpicker........I want to see andersonii also!! Can you post a pic?

Alfred, ON(Zone 4b)

did you notice it's faster now *LOL*

Alfred, ON(Zone 4b)
