New thread ...who is in on MG War???

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Imaseedpicker.........I might be crazy but I am not dumb! How will I win if you submit yours against mine???

Crossville, TN

Kell...she is not judging this contest....we have 3 impartial judges....I should know....I've tried to bribe two of them!!! LOL Jo

(Zone 8a)

Kell...don't worry I have not grown anything special but I have got lots of mg's to choose from that I can't make up my mind to enter the contest! Plus I am not expecting to win! I have seen a few pics so far that are gorgeous!

Jo...LOL! I tried bribing all of them!

Crossville, TN

Then there is hope for me and Kell...LOL Jo

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

i do not think so road runner............. you have not seen what I am working with!!! LOL

Crossville, TN

Kell....the Mesquite that my MG is twining around is doing MUCH better than my puny vine....and I have been gone for 2 months....it was left to neighbors to care for it. Poor Pitiful Pretty. Jo

(Zone 8a)

Don't give up! There is hope! This is so much fun!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

how much more time do we have???? (for miracles to happen)

Crossville, TN

We have until the end of September...and IF the grasshoppers hold off....I MAY get lucky and get a bloom to photograph!! Jo

(Zone 8a)

Mings...where are you?

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

I'm putting all my bets on my Mt Fuji. It was the only one that opened up perfectly flat & had the best contrast of color. More have opened up since, but not as flat or perfect as this one. I think it is because of the drought, not getting enough water, even though I do water them. Can't believe all the posts on this one. Good job!

(Zone 8a)

Buttoneer...your mt fuji is gorgeous and may win!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Crush me with a spoon Imaseedpicker!! I must check out this mt fuji...............
is there just one category in this contest?? Is there not one for Good Try But Not Even Close or A Better Luck Next Year category????

Crossville, TN

Kell...I think you've hit on a way for you and I to make a showing!!! LOL Jo

(Zone 8a)

Sorry Kell! You have some beauties too! If I were a judge I would already have my mind mind up already!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

imaseedpicker...........thatlast sentence was a bit ominous! Are you saying you would have already picked ME in your mind............LOL

Roadrunner............ I think they should have categories for those of us that are newly Daved and had no idea of the choices out there!!!!!!

(Zone 8a)

There is also the ugliest category too! LOL! I'm in it!

(Zone 8a)

1600 coming!!!

Crossville, TN

I went out and had a heart-to-heart talk with mine tonight. They said if I hadn't gone away and left them for 2 months...lollyggagging all over the country, meeting all those DG'ers, then they would have felt more like putting forth the effort to ....beat the pants off the rest of you!!

(plants can get so touchy!!) Jo

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

Is anybody else having trouble with their morning glories opening up fully with the drought? I'm interested to know. In York, PA, they are about 62% with their water supply, when it gets down to 60 percent they are going to have to ration water. Still having 90-degree weather here in PA. Had to empty two 55-gallon drums of rainwater to fill up the pond again, it had evaporated about 6 inches. We have been taking shutthewateroffwhileyouaresoapingup showers all summer now because we have a well. What scares me is people driving & smoking & throwing their lit cigarette butts out the window. The grass is so dry, a fire could start just like that. We are so lucky not to have had any forest fires yet but the season isn't over yet. An interested to hear about the drought reports from you gardeners in other parts of the country.

(Zone 8a)

Jo...I meant 1600 views!LOL! I'm lucky I could start my mg's early this year for they are burning up now with the drought!

Buttoneer...sorry to hear your water shortage for it is rough when your on well, we use to have one too years ago but back then it never dried up and fortunately way out here where we live they did get in city water but it is expensive in summer and we have droughts every summer and even winter!

It either rains above us or below us! Our ground is like rocks here in Al and I am fighting to keep all my plants alive by watering!

I know what you mean about people thumping out cigarettes, it's scary here too but most people don't even think about!

(Zone 8a)

I'm impressed! Entries are beginning to roll and some beauties too!

Kell...Where are yours??? You warrior!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am waiting to take the ultimate picture of the ultimate mg................ LOL when does this end???

Crossville, TN

Kell....scroll up to Aug. 13th. Jo

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

i may need to the end of next summer.......LOL

(Zone 8a)

Kell...end of September! Get growing girl!

(Zone 8a)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Roadrunner, I am with you..........mine are just refusing to grow. I can't understand it. In years past I had the not so fancy ones and I could not contain them............ I think Imaseedpicker snuck into my yard and did something to them!! CONFESS Imaseedpicker............unfair unfiar!!

The ones I planted with the moonvines haven't bloomed since the hot weather hit!

(Zone 8a)

Jo...keep talking! I'll bet you are waiting for the finale!LOL

Kell...Why do you always pick on poor little me? sneaky huh? You just wait...I have put a good old voodoo on you! LOL

Cleveland, OH(Zone 5b)

Boo Hoo, I had to move mine because we are power washing the deck. (is that a good enough excuse?) Don't worry, I still have time! I have some in the back of the yard that look like they are ready to EXPLODE!!!! Whooooeeeeehhh!

(Zone 8a)

Celia...you said you don't know how to post your pics...what do you mean...like where to do it or just how to do it! LMK

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

can we please???? cont this here http://davesgarden.com/s/350014.html

I have a very slow connection and want to keep up. I think some might hope this turns into a record thread, but I think it has quite a ways to go, and there may be newbies wanting to get in on the contest that might be turned off by such a long thread. hoping?? http://davesgarden.com/s/350014.html
