Best,Worse,What did I learn today? Come sit and chat, I’ve muffins in the oven and fireplace is on..
Thanks for the new thread Betty.
That's a lot of snow.
Melanie is having family over for Family Day eats/games, they said they would have one of the grands pick me up but nope, still spending a lot of time sleeping and there is a blizzard going on so guess who is heading to bed shortly, no outing for me
Get plenty of rest and get better soon.
School bus cancelled again, 17th day. I was out doing snow at 4am, garbage bin pick up so i had to make sure the Snowplow banks was cleaned out, Marie puts bins to roadside for me, came in and had a nap.
Time to try and fill in my day with something more exciting. GiorGia was coming home from Cuba this morning and said she would make it to her sewing class this afternoon but with plane crash at Toronto Airport yesterday am sure arrival flights today will be limited.
Trying to decide if i want to try going into Midland, after a month yesterday only picking up a few things am running out of a lot, might have to wait til tomorrow hoping it will be nicer, i will check road conditions before I decide.
Cant go too far on the throw, need, brighter pink, yellow and maroon antique
Cold for you Lindakay, best get some woollies on
Did go to town, whiteouts on my way there but sunny coming home.
Other than picking up Chinese and a cake for Marie’s birthday, i did not go to any other store, this new way of shopping takes double the amount of time, the customers in the aisles were helping other customers. Tired me out, eating early then nap
Hi, going to try to post using my phone
I can post using my phone but not my browser on my PC. Strange. I've sent d-mail to Betty, Linda Kay and Pat - did you get it?

That food looks good Betty.
Susan, sorry you are having problems posting. Several others in other threads are too.
Ok, I am going in search of Round Robin thread and will post the pictures. I got my rounds on, that completes Susan's. I hope to get the package out today. Marie has Jenny at the vet doing a post surgery check & has a dental appointment. I may need to pick up Jenny so she can get to her dental appointment.
Hurray, I'm going to get my God's Eye!! Really excited to see it!
Ithought when i and Sharon got our panels back we were done
Just me,have some problem processing thins
I went with Sharon to Orillia yesterday , bought a few batiks
Went into Canadian tire to buy a shovel, no shovels in of the stores
Here is Marie, birthday girl, best i make her coffee
If you have Linda Kay's & Misty's blocks, then you'll need to add a border, Betty.
The borders are:
2", 3", 4", 5", 4". So, if you see 2, 3, 4, & 5" added, you just need to add a 4" and send to Linda Kay. Just add the border that's next in line, please.
Susan, we have our blocks finished.
Betty, do you have a photo of Marie?
You have yours and Misty's blocks? Could you please post a picture?

Morning, weatherman says snowstorm today but sun is shinning brightly, I’m all for that, last few days gave us enough downtime to reenergize ourselves.
Not the greatest photo Lindakay here here you go, Marie dressed in her shovelling. garb.
It’s ok Susan, my mind just can’t comprehend where we are at. I had thought the next step for Sharon and I would be to receive our finished block but we will get the block and do next step. Can’t wait to see them all!
Sitting having my coffee, can’t believe the time, Pat from up the street couldn’t watch hockey game because her roof dish is so packed with snow that she can’t get reception so although I normally don’t watch hockey I invited her over for evening, was rushing as Ari came for her class at 3:45 but managed to make a cherry pie for treats so it was a late night.
Can’t believe the time, was 8 am when I got up,a rare sleep in so moving on slow side so I will just relax as I’ve nothing planned for the day. That being said I will look at my Friday todo list and see what I get done if anything
.wash upstairs/downstairs stairs
.wash bedroom rug for 3rd time since I was sick, I can still smell faint smell of vomit although everyone else says no and want to push myself to do those throw strips that have been on my list for last week
.add Velcro ties to Marie’s winter cap
Not counting what I pick from my task jar
Do any of you have task lists or do what you do
Marie always comes around 9:30am to check on me so best I finish my coffee and decide what comes next
Next time you wash something that smells, add some vinegar to the wash. Hope your temps are getting warmer.
We are at 16 this morning. Supposed to reach 32.
Wow Lindakay we are not that much colder than you 12°F but your high is quite a bit higher than ours, never thought Texas was that cold in the winter. Your high today is far higher than ours.
Pat and Deb how are you both doing?
Glad I opened the thread up while taking my break, I have floors washed upstairs and dusting done, drinking cranberry juice then back to work, rug was next so the vinegar suggestion is a great ne, don’t think I have a lot but will add what I have then when I am in town I will purchase a galling and do it again, if i keep cleaning it I will wear the pile down and have to buy another anyway. I need to do all the mirrors/closet doors over the weekend so vinegar is good to add to the water so will not go to waste.
my task for the day fit in with washing downstairs floors and as it is so generic which tasks to do I’m sure washing the floors will count 😜
Hate to get up as I have my little water fountain going, water spilling over edge is relaxing… with the fountain going and sun shinning if I close my eyes I could think I am in Sunshine country. Linda called this morning and it came up we need a vacation so I will surf the web for a trip to an island for maybe late spring. Speaking of trips, i was messaging Giorgia’s mom this morning to see if they got home from Cuba Tuesday morning as planned, nope, because of the plane crash they only got home last night at 5:30, exhausted from almost 3 day delay.
I'll just bet they're tired. Nice to be home in their own wee beds. Did they get reimbursed for hotel rooms they had to stay in?
mmmmmmm that pie makes me hungry for some! Hope the vinegar trick helps your bedroom rug.
It was 43F today (4c), so things are melting around here. Nice, after the -31F we were having. Maybe Mother Nature will get off the "bottle" and give us regular Spring temps
That pie does look good.
That's a long delay at the airport.
Morning, up and at it early this morning, see a bit of blue in the sky and sun is trying to come out.they still say snow later today Ute they said that yesterday and we had about 20 minutes of very light snow, didn’t even have to shovel the steps to back entrance so I’m ok if they are wrong again, can do with a few more days without the white fluffy, would like to see a bit of meltdown but not too fast as I will be flooded.
Evan comes at 10am for his painting class then I will take a run to town, take my time getting through my list and products I buy because normally I am always on the run.
Sunrise is always so pretty, i forgot s et of Christmas lights plugged in and too much snow the climb over so it’s nice seeing a tad of bling to start the day.
Well I did the rug and added vinegar, even got on my knees to smell the area lol and no bad odour so on my list is a gallon of vinegar. Do you usually buy the cleaning vinegar or regular vinegar.
All my strips are now sewn together and pressed so when I get back from town I will sew sections together and cut it down, then the fun part starts, I just love cutting out designs and do8ng appliqué.
How is your weather today and what do you have planned for the weekend?
The pie looks lovely!
Supposed to have a warm up here. 40's tomorrow, chance of 50's early next week. Means mud will be back for me!
Having a quiet weekend. Had to have a molar removed at the oral surgeon's yesterday. Not too sore today, but, I keep accidently touching the stitches with my tongue, and that just creeps me out. He said the stitches will dissolve in 5-7 days. He said just to relax for the next day or two and not do anything to get my blood pressure up. I was entered in a dog show tomorrow, but, guess I'll skip that. Running would definitely raise blood pressure. Need to find some movies to watch or a book
to read.
I was looking at the quilt squares you all are working on in your other thread. They are beautiful. You are all so talented. The designs, the color combinations. Love them all!
Hello Deb - good to see you. Missed your postings. Sorry that you had to cancel the dog show, but better safe than sorry.
Thanks for the kind words about the blocks. If we have a block swap, would you be interested in joining? We all make as many of the same block as there are people in the group and send one to each of the other, keeping one for ourselves. Pat said she might do one after this Round Robin.
Quiet day at home (love Saturdays)
Weather has really warmed up. It's +5c
(41F)

Betty, we use regular vinegar. Sometimes we also add baking soda. It really softens the ityou are washing. Hopefully the snow will miss your area today as well.
Deb, praying your mouth isn't too sore.
Each week I sit at the table with John & his wife Roberta, and have lunch with them. It was awesome to see him in his uniform. He was so pleased to be thus honoured.
Can’t gab, can’t move, calling it a day, i did read and will respond tomorrow
1,800 of us were without power since 11:45am
Main station had equipment failure
Of course even though we’ve 5’ of snow the snow acts as insulation so water in sump pump kept overflowing, Marie came and helped me, Greg was up north and he didn’t get here 6 to get generator going, Marie’s husband Ted tried a few times to start it, not sure what he was do8ng but Greg got it going.
All those bucket of water, non stop had to be emptied, of course the banks are about 8’high so you couldn’t throw water over banks, had to walk all the way to near Marie’s, when had no energy left Marie and i took turns bring ing buckets of water and emtying in tub. Downstairs toilet and sink are below ground level so they have special
Pump that pumps up,,of course need hydro for that
Greg just got here to shut down generator and put it away, calling for snow so can’t leave it out
Gab tmr
Oh Betty, to be without water, and in those conditions - I will be praying that you get some rest and so glad that you have power with the generator, and now supposing that you mean you have power again, or just getting rest while it's down?
Please take care, my friend
Morning, just made a coffee and took it to bed to sip on
Didn’t matter Susan about water, had plenty bottles if i was Thursday, it was the gallons coming in continuously thru sump pump and having to carry and dispose of it.
Once power came on Greg came and made sure all was reconnected from generator to natural hydro connection.
Thanks for the invite to join the block swap, Susan. But, I am not in the least bit crafty, and haven't sewn anything since probably high school. I'm fine with just sitting back and enjoying what others are creating. My mom made a couple of quilts. I have one she did all by hand, that I need to find someone local to fix for me. So many of the stitches have come loose. I think if I could find someone with a long arm, just to machine quilt over the whole thing, it would hold her work together.
Glad you got your power back, Betty. Maybe Greg can show Marie's husband how to start the generator, just in case this happens again, and he's not nearby to start it.
Deb - if the material is fragile, or thread is coming loose, you're right to get someone to repair this quilt of your mom's. I remember having to fix one that my grandma made & my daughter had. Some of the material was from the early 1900's (kid's play clothes, pajamas & men's boxes) and my daughter was putting it in the washing machine (UGH!) She saw nothing wrong with putting bedding in the washing machine. The 3rd time I repaired it, I considered keeping it LOL That was many years ago, and I don't know what it's like now. She lives too far away for me to know. I think I'll ask her to send it to me if she hasn't thrown it out.
Glad that you enjoy seeing the quilts we're making.
You both have such treasured quilts, I had a few my grandmother gave me,,of course like your daughter Susan I didn’t appreciate the value back then, one made with wool pants, jackets, can’t even think how sore her hands must have been quiting it. Jeff’s boys were babies when they made a trip north and Jeff asked if he could use it for the boys incase they were caught in a blizzard, i never did get it back as he said said it was now his and would be cherished for life and that it is, lest on his bed, Lordy once you are under it you can’t move, it’s cherished and has a good home, another if you remember needed tender loving care, aI wanted to showcase it somehow, brought it out several Christmas’s ago and it came to me that I could share with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren so I cut the quilt and made a mitt for them, highlight of everyone’s Christmas so there are many options.
Now Deb, if you don’t have a sewing machine, many back in the day tied their quilts with embroidery floss, that is something you could do to preserve it and add a bit of you to the next generation.
Think Jenny Doan (?) of Missouri Quilt has a very good tutorial on how to do it from scratch but with it already quilted you could do a block here and there and would keep the quilts integrity
Ziggy just cuddled up beside me, thinks he wants me to get up
Wasn’t the link so I erased it
