Pat, we must have cross posted, love the new you lol
Very nice photo of you. Haven’t played much with photo apps
On one of my old Apple i pads I had a program that I could put several photo’s in one photo but don’t have it on this ipad

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I'll find out about my Driver's license tomorrow morning (I'll call them first). If they'll look at it Dianne will give me a ride to town after coffeetime tomorrow. The lady who won the quilt had the winning bid of $150, and she's paid $30 more for the two shams. I can start them tomorrow, because I have 4 "floor mats" (the circles you throw on the floor to clean up spills, with your foot).to make for my 2 nieces in Winnipeg. I'll send them with the quilt so Michelle can give the extras to them when she gets the pkg.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I love those photos Pat. I used to fo that with my grandson years ago.
Betty, where did you order those rotary blades?
Susan, praying you can get all your missing papers replaced.
Betty, we still have snow and ice. It didn't get above 20 degrees today, and tomorrow doesn't look much better. It's going to be cold most of this week.
I would live to see a photo of the angel teddy bear please?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Linda Kay - my driver's license is the first step, and I'm confident that I can get it tomorrow. Then it's Next Steps.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sun is finally out, I’m doing nothing, not really, playing around with this and that.

Extremely cold here as well Lindakay so nice just semi relax. Got the blades on Amazon, big savings, Sharon says they last longer than the regular one.

Hooe all goes well for you Susan, did Department of transportation give you a temporary? $30 sure doesn’t sound like much to do 2 shams. How are you making out so far this winter with water pipes? Not freezing I hope.

I had chiropractor at 7:30, came home, there was just a skim of snow from yesterday so used snowblower and cleaned a few areas where I park. Bought quite a bit of meat, went to put it in the freezer and no room so took out the bag of frozen bananas and made 30 muffins, gave some to Marie, now they’ve cooled I will bag and freeze.

Thought I’d make a large meal, would do me lunch/supper and again for tomorrows meals. Have the quilt on the frame, not enough energy to start quilting though. Made a few squares to start that high tea quilt, want to o a few squares to see if I like doing it, other than that just yawning..should really rest.

Sharon dropped in to pick up the quilt I did binding on it, Lordy her hands shake, don’t know how she can sew, she brought the zebra throw to show me, I kept it to do hand sewing on binding but can’t keep my eyes open.

Wonder why the other photos didn’t post?

Did anyone hear if the are working on DG site or is this their finished sign in

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Many are complaining, but no one is listening or even attempting to fix things.
Those muffins look good.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I think AI has taken over DG and no, no ones listening.

I got my temporary driver's license & the permanent one with my photo will come from Ottawa. Once that comes then I can get my other ID.
No, $30 isn't much cost for 2 pillow shams. I'd suggested $30 & $50, and Dianne decided that $30 was enough, so that's what she told the lady.
Now to go cut out the material for the sham.......... I have some at home, for a queen size pillow, so have that as a pattern.
Water pipes are good, so far. It's been -30c and no issues.

What a cold day, spent it laying on the couch, sun was out and few snowflakes in the air, looked like diamonds, was beautiful to look at.

Snow suppose to start a weeks fall Friday so when I go for chiropractor appt tomorrow best I bring a list of what Ineed with me

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I would never agree to $30 for 2 pillow shams. If Dianne thought $30 was enough, she CAN DO IT! LOL
Marie's van is STILL in the shop and I am furious. The dealership is taking advantage of her and ticks me off. Today is the 3rd day.
We fly out on the 11th at 6AM. I'm grateful our airport is close.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

1. Dianne repairs clothing but doesn't sew and is definitely NOT a quilter. 2. I said I would do it, but told Dianne that I was "grumpy" about it. 3. Dianne's heading off to Mexico on Saturday.
If it ever comes up again, I'll tell them $50, or No Go (at all, at any price). The proceeds are all going to the Wellness Group (because I'm such a sweetheart LOL)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Very cold this morning, still dark outside but I know it’s not snowing so happy days.

Pat, it’s an exciting time for you, bet your bags are packed and first in line is the fabric bag with quilting supplies, sorry but I forgot if it’s in your posts re trip, do you have to bring your machine? Know you weren’t thrilled with times allotted you to work on your projects, could always bring your machine to your cabin lol
What is Marie having done to her machine, my car is going on 5 years and I’ve 28,500 kl which is only 17,779 miles I believe, alway get a new one every 5 years but won’t be this year.

Deb how are you feeling being back at work? Sharon had Paris checked to see if she was pregnant but wasn’t, test fees include a second testing a week later and results were the same, disappointing

Susan even at $50 I wouldn’t be doing 2 pillow shams, always the ones who don’t sew thing $30 is easy money.

Lindakay, you must not have many of the pups still with you?
What sewing projects are on your list of to do’s

Has anyone heard from Dianne and Sharon?

Think for a gal that has to be at chiro this morning got up an hour before she should I haven’t heard from Linda yet re meeting up in Barrie this morning, i could likely get there by 9:30, go for breakfast, get to Hummingbird Sewing to get the bobbin holder for my machine, the one the ordered that has to be returned was $62, this one $76.
Expensive but machine won’t work without it, with the extra hour I have I should Pack up the embroidery machine so we can test it.

I’ve a quilt on frame and a Christmas throw panel I cut up lengths, added to it and it’s ready to quilt, should get ambitious one day and start, think starting is half the work

Well best I get a move on

Need a coffee and porridge before I start my day

Hope you are all enjoying a warm and relaxing day

Not sure I posted the quilt block exchange blocks young Giorgia did at christmas

That's a beautiful quilt.
All puppies are spoken for. We have 3 left at the house. They will be going to new homes next weekend after they get thier final shots. 3 took them home, and they will get their final shots.
Misty and I finally got the sewing room back in order. We are both making more quilts, just because we have the fabric.
We donated 24 quilts to a church that takes in homeless on cold nights. They were very grateful.
I hear from Sharon on Facebook, I haven't seen Dianne posting.

Back from town, didn’t go to Midland because at. —16 it was too darn cold to be out shopping, wanted to fill the car but after $26 I was too cold to finish pumping.

i started with Walmart to pick up room divider, doesn’t fit like I want because of furnace but will do, will hide the mess.
Talking of mess, moved the knitting machine in that area, the heavy fabric totes and now I’m in mega pain..guess it will be couch time.

One minute

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Beautiful quilt!
I need to do more quilts to lessen my stash. Think I'm going to do what a lady I know about did - just iron all my scraps, throw them in a bag & take them out one by one & add them to the quilt. It'll be a crazy quilt, but one that I'm assured will be beautiful. I should mount my quilts on a frame rather than free-hand stitching while watching tv. Maybe I can put it in the living room now that it's been cleared of Christmas decorations.
I know, even $50 was undercharging. After all, I'm supplying the work and the material. When I did a memory lap quilt & the material was supplied, I charged $250 each.
Betty - you have a knitting machine? Do you use it much, and what for?
Wonder where Dianne is?!?!?
I've had the same car since 2008. Mechanically sound, but could use a whole new body lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats drats drats I wrote a novel, pressed send and where is it.
Soooo frustrating

Will make it short, must learn to copy before sending

Susan, yes 3 knitting machines, bulky knitter is in area I just cleaned, the light weigh knitter and computerized knitting machine under the bed in mom’s room, they attach to a table, haven’t been used in 15 yrs. The bulky could do a K1/P1 or K2/p2 and so on, let’s say 80 rows of 100 stitched in less than 1/2 hr..the computerized one I could program and it would knit and pull as programmed on its own.

Mom brother Gerry (we called him Junior) turned 80 yesterday, he has been fighting cancer for quite a few years, didn’t he fall out of bed yesterday morning, broke hip, called 911, they came, stood him up said he was ok and left. About 1/2 hr he was crying he was in so much pain, Laurie took him to emerge and hip broken, because of all meds and blood thinners they must wait a few days before they can operate.

This morning talking to Linda I dropped my cup of coffee on the rug, grrr.

Jules looking at weather forecast for next week brought in heavy duty equipment to move snowbanks, think my cement staircase to main garden is no longer nor are a few back and side gardens

Hoping if Noah remembers to pick up the bobbin holder the embroidery machine will work, miss having it.

Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Gerry. Praying they keep him pain free till surgery.
Wow, your plow man really shoved those snowbanks back into your yard.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That he did, he is afraid with them forecasting yet another week-10 days there would be nowhere to put it. When it’s white it’s garden to tell how high snowbank is, likely 8-10’, if Noah remembers to pick up the part for my embroidery machine I will ask him to take a photo so you can see just how high all the banks are

The alarm system outside notifies me I should check front/back door but not showing me what is there, will have to get Darlene and John to re calibre when they get home,

I took photos of animal footprints, quite large but don’t know what they are

Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - do you have cougars in the area? Wondering about those footprints.
Why do you still have knitting machines for 15 years, that you don't use? You could sell them & make more fabric-buying $$ lol
Those paramedics should be reported for not taking Gerry into the hospital. If dispatched I thought they had to?!?!
I'm still waiting to see if people will come to the Robbie Burns evening. Starting to tell those who bought tickets that it may have to be cancelled for lack of tickets sold.
I'm off to Calgary tomorrow for the Celebration of Life of a dear friend of mine, Marlene.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry to hear of your loss. The event is probably a hard sell because it’s something they’ve never had before.i have enough fabric stash, way too much but I will encourage kids to use it up. I also thought if they were called in a trip to hospital to be diagnosed was a must.

Called mom to hear how the operation went, but she didn’t hear, was suppose to be this morning but might not have happened if they tested blood and meds are still in the system. Would be nice if a Laurie would call to let her know as she is fretting.
I just messaged Laurie inquiring but so far no reply.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

People in the next town used to have a Robbie Burns night at their Community Centre. Just never here, in my town. The other "problem" is that people are expecting Scotch to be served, and I cannot afford a $500 liquor license. Those who've never been aren't expecting liquor, but as you say - haven't been, so it's a Hard Sell.
Michelle told me that they've gotten the quilt I sent. She's very happy with it. Here are some pictures. She liked the tag - said it was "cute" lol I missed putting the 5th material that my mom had chosen. Guess I could send it and she could stitch it on. Just hand stitching around the outside of it, next to the other pieces.

Betty, please don't open your doors, until you look around real good.
Beautiful quilt Susan. I hope your dinner sells more tickets.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Love the softness of the inner. square section, great project, am sure she will cherish it.

No, wouldn’t open door Lindakay, just wish it would stay aro7nd to give me the chance to look at it lol.

We had about 3” of fluffy snow last night, rather than shovel I used the blower, getting the hang of it, much quicker. With the sun being out and such a nice day I decided I would take the shovel and make a pathway for front entrance and clean deck, I haven’t done so since Christmas as it saved me a lot of shovelling, what do I do? i wait till there is 2’ of snow and decide to clean it up, now I’m into the T3’s.

Want to go to town now but I don’t have enough to keep me busy in town for 2hrs. Suppose to go to Tiny Stitchers group and take home the fabric they don’t sell, I am am in the store and out as quickly as I can kind of girl, need to go to banks but bank has to be open to use machines to deposit checks, stopped it because of all the street people who have no homes and try to stay inside, am sure they close early on Saturdays, maybe I will treat myself to Kentucky fried chicken for supper.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

KFC sounds good. We haven't had that in awhile. They also make a very good pot pie.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Got 2 piece dinner and fries/gravy, someone dropped salt shaker 8n the chips..ate 1 piece and I am full, other will be for l7nch tomorrow

Tiny Stitchers Had a sale, an elderly lady is going into long term care and they were having a sale on everything in her craft room then called and asked me if I could be there at 3:00pm to pick up all that was left at no charge. An entire car full of goodies..

This is in a few bags I brought in, neck/shoulder is killing me so it’s all in the car except for a few bags bags

Lots of stamping things for cards/scrapbooking etc
Good scissors, cutters , few rulers etc
Even a game of canasta, used to play that a lot but forgot how.
There was a pair of scissors that look like discard, it says slicer, imagine it’s for food.

Guess I will bring in a box at a time and go through it and maybe make kits for the kids to take home. There is a good bedazzled, am sure Ezra would go crazy for it.

But a car full and I mean full, what to heck will I do with all of it? Sometimes free isn’t even worth it right?

The photo of the quilt was on Facebook, wouldn’t m8nd trying something similar 8n earth tones

Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - how wonderful! But, you're right, sometimes free isn't even worth it if you have too much. Making kits for the kids is a good idea. You NEED another make-work project, right (put in evil laughter here lol)??? I've played quite a bit of Canasta (Hand, foot & knee) since I've moved here. Playing 3 hands takes about 4 hours though, so we haven't been playing it for awhile on Games Night. Even during the day, starting at 1pm means people are dashing home at 5pm to start dinner & they don't want to do that. Yum on the chicken dinner!
Went to a Celebration of Life today, for Marlene. Met up with friends that used to create the Robbie Burns dinner in Calgary, and 5 have signed up for the one here. That means that I have 3 more who are now part of the entertainment - hurray! SO, it's officially a "go". One of these asked for a poster so he can put it up in his Calgary church - McDougall......... I expect that there are some Scots there lol
Now, if only I can get my sewing machine to behave and not give me grief on the underside of sewing (I know, that's the top thread causing the problem, but just can't figure out how to fix it) so I can do these pillow shams. All cut out, just need to be stitched. Might end up sewing them by hand. Nearest sewing machine repair is 1 hour drive north. I can't go until Friday afternoon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That's a lot of crafting items.
I agree, sometimes free isn't always good.
Glad to hear you have more for your dinner Susan. Hope you can get your tension fixed.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone.
It's still cold here. Snow melts a little bit during the day, then freezes at night. Roads are pretty slick in the morning.
Betty, did you ever get all the craft items from your car?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Drive carefully, Linda Kay. I saw a truck in the ditch on Sunday because of the freezing rain, I'm sure.

Still trying to figure out my sewing machine issues. I'll have a friend drop off the machine in Red Deer on Wednesday and, when it's ready, I can pick it up. He'll be able to tell me how to thread it properly and do a basic service on it for $100. That's really cheap, actually.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, cold and storm is brewing, calling for squalls but so far not snowing enough. Lindakay must be hard on everyone as very few if any have snow tires or used to driving in icy conditions, stay in and stay bundles, get one of your quilts out and enjoy a lazy afternoon.

It was storming when I went into town, came out if my chiropractor session and had stopped so I decided I would get some shopping done, then home and got a few more boxes 8n and have been organizing, flannel with flannel and batiques with batiques etc etc, I even cleaned as best I could my woodworking room.

When I got to the shelving found 2 round containers, drats, more knitting needles, must have come from Aunt Muriel because each set were tied with an elastic so my guess she gave me all hers.

Tired this afternoon but I managed to put the bobbin holder Greg dropped off this morning and tried part of an embroidery, seems to work ok so in the morning after blowing snow I know I’ve towel sets I wanted to do before Christmas so I will try a design.

Had an early supper, lasagna, far too much, I had it in the freezer so one meal out of it and into the food bin for morning pickup.

That quilt on the frame doesn’t call my name, still haven’t done a stitch, maybe tomorrow.

Know for now I will make sure everything is off downstairs then see if I can get myself half sitting to knit a bit of that shrug I’m knitting. Told Marie once mine is done if she likes it I will make her one, feel cold at times but not cold enough for a sweater so it would be perfect, more something to occupy my time.

Giorgia’s mom sent me a photo of the stained glass Giorgia did this fall, finally got it hung.

Ari wearing her fleece bottom she made at glass on Thursday, photo of the house I had enlarged so that Evan at Saturday’s class can begin painting it, his mom decided rather than a recent photo with addition/deck she wanted one when they first bought it.

That is all that is going on in my neck of the woods.

Envious of Pat, soon off to Hawaii and Sharon off next week to Africa, almost everyone I know are off to somewhere.

Betty, there is lots going on in your neck of the woods.
My son and daughter in law are leaving Thursday to Hawaii for a week for a tattoo convention. I didn't want to go. Staying here to watch the Dogs. Maybe next time. We are flying to Oregon in February for my son to do tattoos, so I will rent a car and drive to Washington to see my brother. Then in March we go to Daytona for bike week and tattoos.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - you & I can have a "staycation" and not go anywhere.
What's with the burning school bus? You didn't say anything about it.
Linda Kay - I might be wrong, but I can't really see you enjoying a tattoo convention.

I'm excited - I couldn't get the tension figured out on the Pfaff, BUT I had another machine - Kenmore, that looked like the thread spindle was broken off, so I didn't test it. Well, tonight, I was playing around with 2 of the three machines, trying to see what I could do with the tension, and cleaning them up, etc. So, took apart the bobbin area of the Singer machine, and couldn't get it back together. So I looked at the Kenmore - darned if I didn't figure out that a top piece opened up, and I was able to pull up a thread spindle! So, I got a proper foot for it, and it sews beautifully! So, I'm working on the pillow shams tonight. SO pleased that I have a working machine!
Got a rental for Silver Willow, for Feb 8th. Happy about that. More $$ for the seniors.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, both of my boys are tattoo artist. I have several tattoos. I enjoy the tattoo conventions, as I am a person that loves to watch people. Either at the airport, different types of conventions... I find it interesting to meet people and why they get the tattoos they are getting. Some tattoo are not my style, and some are absolutely beautiful. Then I see some tattoos done by bad artist and think they shouldn't be allowed to do that. Both of my boys have had customers asking them to cover up something they got from a different artist.
Glad you got a sewing machine running.

Victoria Harbour, ON

blizzard morning,

I was out at 1:30-2:15 a.m.i am not the only idiot 8n the neighbourhood, there was Marie doing her drive, because her apt it in a little strip mall and nowhere to put snow she has to shovel across the road and lift it onto the banks the plow makes, very hard for her.

You will be able with all that playing with machines Susan put a shingle outside your home advertising Sewing machine repair 😜. Been thinking maybe in March I would drive down to Myrtle Beach and visit with Darlene and John, just a thought!

Lindakay, those spring trips sound marvellous, know you enjoy travelling. Is a visit to your sister’s in the works? She wasn’t that far from Canadian border was she?

As for the burning bus in same district, wires caused fire they believe, thankfully nobody was hurt. Last night one of our bus routes was quite slippery and a bus ended up in a ditch so today with weather off and on it scarred the bus line after 2 mishaps so cancelled the routes.

Came in at 2:15a.m., made my bed, had my bath and slept on couch til 6:30 this morning then downstairs and cleaning and organizing my craft room. Takes a tad longer because I’m putting different colour fabrics in their own totes, now finishing my coffee and t8me to go out and snowblow.

I asked Giorgia’s mom seeing school is closed for the day could Giorgia come at 1:00 pm versus 4:00pm that way i can have an early night or maybe knit more on the shrug I am making.

Hoping to find an easy design and while Giorgia is here I will embroider it to make sure it’s now working, sure hoping it is.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My brother and sister in law live 1 ½ hour. I will rent a car and visit them.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I agree, Linda Kay, that some tattoos are beautiful, and some are done just to fill space and aren't that well done. I understand that tattoos can be removed when they no longer are wanted. Happy that you'll be able to visit your brother & SIL. Enjoy your visit.
Betty - how awful about the busses! Glad no one was hurt. Hope that Giorgia can come earlier. You need your rest.
LOL on me putting out a shingle! Not in this lifetime lol I hope to be finished the top of the 2 pillow shams today (with batting) and start quilting, then I'll be able to join them to the backings (later this week). I'm using one of mine as a pattern (not a template - not deconstructing mine lol).
Wish you could have my weather, Betty. It's beautiful out today. Hopefully all of January will be this nice - looks like it will.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wish I had your weather for sure Susan, blizzard of a day, came 8n about 15 minutes ago and you cannot see where I cleaned up. My 4th time today but it is getting heavier so think I’m back to going out every few hours.Would paper piecing not be easier for your shams?

Lindakay I meant if you visited your sister how dar from Detroit/Windsor border, i forget how far you and Judy travelled when we met up in Frankenmuth.

GiorGia did come, stayed about an hour longer than her usual 2 hrs. so she could do her fat quarter placemats, beautiful golds, my camera on iPad does not do them justice

Ziggy is laying next to me, not sure why he is tired w.hen I am the one doing all the work lol

Guess all deserted us, big sigh, miss them

I'm still here. Only time I think to stop by is during the day when I only have my phone to access DG. And, I'm usually supposed to be working! I think it will be quite a while before I can show my dogs again. Everyone's coat got really bad in the few weeks I couldn't groom. Work has been ok, but I'm still a bit swollen and can't button my jeans, so I'm wearing long baggy tops to cover it up. Slowly improving. I did find one pair that I can button so that's something!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry to hear you are still in pain Deb, when you are unwell it sure brings home how much time you put into grooming of the dogs. They must shed massive amounts of hair, forget what Sharon said he was off to buy meds to give the dogs to help keep their coat, will have to ask her, can’t remember what it is, know it was weird.
Snowed all days Peighton left at 6pm and I went out and got the snow blowing and shovelling done, no sooner was it done it was time to start over again, shaking my head, so off to bed I go as I am sure I’ll be out before morning.

Those place mats are beautiful.
