Best, Worse, What did I learn today? Come take a chair and chat a bit! newcomers alway welcomed!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, excellent explanation of the difference between sold and closed! I am keenly aware the buyers could back out still! My neighbor Renee, who's husband was shot & killed by her brother, is moving back into the house next to me. She had farmed out the dogs etc, now they will all be moving back. I know it's selfish of me to worry about it but I am praying their tragedy, and the barking dogs don't kill my sale.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening, been on couch since noon and heading to bed.

Lindakay I hope you were able to get the meds you need and they start to work.

Like you Deb her dogs are her children and closely monitors who gets them and also their after care.

Are you with Roger’s Dianne? Makes for a long day without services. Thank goodness you didn’t catch it, not order Frank is upset, she like needs his support after just getting home from hospital. No snow here yet, maybe we will both get a heavy dumping before end of January, best not hope for it though.

I hope Susan they can entice Digby into their apartment, am i to understand Digby originally belonged to them? I didn’t think Bob was still with Naomi, fickle woman deserves him. Are you feeling better?

Sharon, smilling, i can well imagine Brian liking living at your place, know i would lol
Guess he is saving his $$$, he will need all new furniture and household items, and here is Pat with furniture galore.

Am sure Pat has accomplished much.

Has a treatment this morning at chiropractor at 7:30am, came home and left at 9:45 to go back to midland to get my hip/neck injections.

Dr. Jones was teaching a student doctor how to give shots. With scanner the press on area and see on computer screen where needle goes, i jolted up when she said she must have hit calcium deposit/scars a few times, ouch ouch ouch then had difficulties as well in the shoulder, bursa?? not called that sac was difficult to find so more ouches.

After speaking with Dr.Jones she said it is not something she normally does, needles are every 3 month but she would consider every 8 weeks but injection meds does some damage. The inflammation causes weakening of the tendons, making them more prone to the tears and rips in rotocuffs and injections might do more damaged..

Time is coming to a time to consider surgery IF a specialist would do it, means 3-4 months recovery (few months with help) and not certain I wouldn’t be in worse shape.p afterwards.

She didn’t have a lot to say about chiropractor therapy. She said it would help with posture etc but because i get pain relief 1st month, less the 2nd and full, out pain the 3rd and from looking mri,c-scan etc they know the problem,

Likely my message I’d hard to follow.

Fixed my heating throw

Go for a chiro treatment at 8:30
Not something i want to do on a weekly, monthly, yearly basis with monthly payments though. Will do 4 this week, 4 next week and likely it

Be careful what you wish for, just looked outside and there is a blizzard happening grr

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Let's hope Digby gets what is best for HIM>

Aw snow is arriving Betty! I know we will be in world of hurt if our mountains don't get a snow pack. We'll be rationing water for irrigation again etc.

Betty, if the "student" is just learning, you know you CAN say, "no thanks, I would rather have my DOCTOR do it!" Did they ask YOUR permission to have newbie do this on you? In the US, they would have had to ask and get your approval to have a student do the procedure.

I have not accomplished very much today, ran errands & I am reading the "legalese" from the title company for Marie. We were notified the seller has agreed to address ALL the things we asked for after the inspection. We did NOT ask for "everything" that was listed, just the larger more important things.

I have started the progress of getting my Hickory sheds sold and moved. I have not heard when the inspection of MY house will be.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

We woke up today to rain. It was a very light rain and Emma and I went for a walk in very light rain and neither one of us really got wet that I had a friend stop by he had surgery over a month ago for appendix cancer, which only hits about one or two people in 1 million. She's 53 and they went looking because she was in such pain. They said if she hadn't had pain they wouldn't have gone in until she was a bunch of worse shape and she would've been history, but they gave her a great prognosis because she got it found in its infant stage. She looks pretty, but she's strong.

We went for a 4 o'clock walk about five because it was pouring rain at four earlier the sun came up and I wasn't even paying attention to the weather discarded a few things in the house and told Emma we were going for a walk and then open the garage door and said whoops so we came back one hour later. It's been an uneventful day, which is a good thing.

Betty, she gave you all the warnings about what the injections could do but the rotor cup is usually only hurt when it's repeated action from something like tennis or some sport like that, maybe golf. could be your sewing but I doubt it but you could ask her. She was just giving you all the caveat to cover herself and I think when the student hit the first pocket if I had been the doctor I would've taken over from there.

Pat, I hope your new buyers don't meet the barking dogs that are coming back. that would make me hesitate. How close are they to your home? We actually got snow in the mountains here today and my hometown Pioche, got lots of snow. Pioche is near the Utah border.

Linda I hope you are feeling better. I saw on the weather report today that San Antonio was going to get rain possibly tomorrow.

Diane, I would be in trouble if I didn't have my Internet. I spent more time on my iPhone on Instagram watching reels or on my computer. I watch very little TV. When Brian is gone I will probably discontinue DIRECTV.

Susan, that sounds strange that two people are fighting over the same cat. I don't remember seeing or reading that Bob broke up with the strange one. When did that happen my weather channel shows all of you people in the north east and that section of Canada are going to get big time snow this weekend.

Hugs to all

Verona, ON

Woke up to a dusting of snow. At least it covers all the brown out there.

Pat things are moving quickly for you. It must be exciting but exhaustive for both you and Marie.

Betty I have Bell. It is usually fairly reliable but is very sensitive to strong winds.

Sun is out. Woo hoo!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning. Had 8:30 appt, thought i might be late but wasn’t, i wasn’t expecting my vehicle windows to have so much freezing rain under snow, we only got a few inches last night but the sky is awfully grey so more to come, I’ve nowhere to go til Monday so it’s ok for me other than shovelling. I forgot to buy salt soused my regular salt on the steps to get rid of ice.

As for the injections, guess they have to lear somewhere, might as well be me. Hip awfully sore today, went and put a load of wash in and walked upstairs, told myself to take lift back up.

You are sure lucky Pat to have the knowledge you have re real estate, i would be completely lost trying to juggle all that is in front of you. Once you get moved in and settle you will have to come for a visit. We also need the snow, sure we will pay for it come spring and summer if we don’t.

Sharon, not often do you hear of cancer affecting appendix, lucky she is indeed.

Will be back later, my niece Lee-Ann asked if I would do a bankruptcy application for her, I schedule it for 10..normally it takes 1 1/2 to 2 hrs over the phone, then about 2 hours for me to write up, prepare a list documents required can take me a few hours so that will keep me out of mischief for a tad. Guess i will go get my headset and see if the client comes through clear enough, don’t want to aggravate my neck using hand held phone.

Sun coming out
Best i get organized
Think i might have posted this photo

Like you Dianne sun shinning here as well, if it continues likely the snow that fell will be melted.bet it’s a great day for TH walk as long as it’s not ice under you cover of white.

Just finished paperwork, was an easy application. I just put my froggy in the freezer so think i will get it and use the cold on my neck.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I dont' remember seeing those puppy pictures and I would have remembered! they are sooooo cute!!

"Exhausting" and sometimes confusing! Marie will start talking about "House" and I will have to ask for clarification. Jean (my house), Burbank (her house) or Cotswold, our new house?? Each of the 3 are in different stages of the "for sale" process.

Today I meet up with a woman and give her canning jars that are just being stored. She posted that she was looking to buy supplies and this time of year was having trouble finding stock. I offered what we had for free.

Friday I box up a bunch of stuff out of my house and hand it over to a young stranger that is living on her own for the first time away from parents. She had posted that she was looking for stuff to set up a first time home. I contacted her, offered my canisters full of flour, sugar etc. Spare kitchen towels & hot mitts, laundry baskets and other miscellaneous. Spare stuff Marie & I don't need at the new house. The more that gets gone, the sooner the better.

Sunday before church I meet up and show the 2nd Hickory shed. Looks like I have buyers for both now. I am selling each for 50% of what I paid for them. Not a bad deal for either of us. Both sheds are tall with lofts. My big one 8 x 20 feet that has built in shelves, is being bought by my neighbor. They have been so helpful to me. I said they could take all the time they needed to pay for it. They have a trip to Japan planned in February, how exciting!

I made a list of furniture that I can sell off. If I knew when the inspection was, I could get moving on eliminating that stuff now as well. Patience is NOT my long suit.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

all 3 in the "for sale stages"? You're moving forward. Let's hope the dogs are quiet when buyers are at the house! Barking dogs are why I moved to this end of the park, then lots moved in next to me lol I had 8 at one time, now "only" 7 lol But I only hear one, sporadically.
How lovely to give this young stranger a helping hand with items that she needs & are "extra" to you! God Bless you for this kindness.
Those puppies are adoable, in the "fluffy" stage. Makes me want to pet them & snuggle!
Digby belongs to Dave & Linda, my former neighbours who moved 1 hour away. Naomi took him in until D&L are able to bring him to their apartment. Digby ran away from Naomi & I'm feeding hm. He comes by several times a day.
Betty - Bob is still "with" Naomi. It's where he moved the motorhome, 8 homes away from me. At least it's as far back into the driveway as it can be, so I don't have it "fully" in my sight. Bob lives in another town, and "visits" with her, and she with him.
I'm having quiet days at home, getting over this bronchitis.
Had a bit of a snowstorm on Tues, fog on Wed, and now sunshine today. Weather's very pleasant.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Naomi & Bob deserve each other. Too bad they didn't move to "his town", 1 hour away & not have either close to you. Even Digby has better sense than Bob! ./I hope you are feeling better each day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Susan, you are made of better stuff than I, i would have had to move, daily stress would be on high alert.

Glad you are relaxing and healing.

Made supper, as I do with all my cooking there will be enough for 2-3 days, glad I enjoy leftovers

Started to snow gain.

Prayers for victims of school shooting in Utah

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, expected high for today is 34°f and I am ok with that. I think about 4” of snow fell, decided with just that amount i would go out and do it, trying to do nothing much after getting my injections so it will give time for them to heal.

Spent an hour going over 1 bin of fabric given to me just before Christmas and rearranged one of the laundry room cupboards to accommodate. Did a load of wash which is in dryer, it’s working so guess i might have found the problem, oh happy days.

Another hour of walking around the house declutterring, it amazes me even when you think your house is almost spotless there is more to be done, 2nd time i washed the upstairs floors with Mr.Clean, always makes the house smell extra clean.

Now my goal today to at least make 1 of the 2 pillows I started before Christmas , the pillow cover only for the front removable panels that are made but not finished.

I will have to go to Walmart, got the picture frame that continuously changes photos but cannot find the cord, here is hoping they have one.

So that will be my day, quiet and restful but moving forward.

Imagine that Pat has a full day planned.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning.
Everyone is so busy.
I spent a few days mostly in bed. When I went to family doctor the other day, she told me my heart rate was only 47. To stop taking my heartbpills and see my heart doctor. I saw him yesterday. He told me to continue the heart pills, as the don't control the heart rate, they control any pain I might have. I also came come wearing a heart monitor for 30 days. He says I might need a pacemaker. Guess we will find out when I go back to see him.
Those puppies are so cute.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh Lindakay, just what you didn’t want to hear, hope the end result is that you do not need it.

Glad you are spending time 8n bed resting but makes for a long day. I bet you are searching sewing sites/tutorials, Pinterest and have a lot planned once you are able to sew.

I got a bit off my day goal, one side of going downstairs needed some patchwork which was done when the ceiling was done last year, it was ready to paint but never got at it so i picked a roller and paintbrush this morning and got 1/2 done but seeing I need painters tape and it involves arms off I quit for the day. I go for therapy Monday so will pick up what I need and finish it next week.

Keep thinking I want carpet down the basement staircase, do any of you have it rugged and would you do so again

Betty - I refuse to give them the power to make me move. This is MY home, and they don't contribute anything to the community, I do. Naomi will never move. Her grandmother gave her the home she lives in, so it's sentimental attachment.
I couldn't afford to move, and the rent here is cheap compared to other places even close by, rurally. I pay $365, which will increase to $395 the 1st of May. The cost of an actual move would hurt, too.

Linda Kay - I worry about you, and hope that your health issues are resoved in a way that you feel comfortable with. Imagine, one Dr saying to stop your meds and another saying to continue. Glad your heart Dr told you the reason for the pills. Wondering why your heart rate is so low though. A pacemaker isn't the end of the world, but I know it's a stress for you, not knowing. I'll be praying for you, of course.

I'm feeling better today, and will be going to Games Night tonight. I still won't be exerting myself, doing the undecorating of the hall - that can wait until Monday at coffeetime when others can help.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I have lived in homes with stairs with carpet, and no carpet. I have found the ones that have carpet can be pretty slick, depending on the socks or shoes you are wearing. I prefer no carpet on stairs.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, a high of 30°f expected today, not calling for snow until later this evening.

Lindakay how are you feeling, some improvement I hope.bet you have a furry companion on your bed with you are close by making sure all is well.

wondered that, perhaps I am better to paint and give it an uplift.
I have asked for quotes from a few carpet places because the chairlift would have to be unmounted and remounted, wanted a finished look but might be asked for trouble.mi looked the step rug 8 1/2” x 28-30” but am sure it wouldn’t stick to metal step frames, guess before I decide i should try and buy cheaper ones to see if it would adhere..hard to let go of a house upgrade when you’ve got it in your mind.

Susan, glad you are feeling better.smart thinking, enjoy your time out last night &wait for Monday so there is help. I can see how you couldn’t consider moving seeing the fees you are paying, but has to be big time difficult and I am sure they don’t try to not make it known they are there.

Confirmed thismorn8mg that Suzanne will try to go out with Linda and I to seafood supper,Moshe is having a real bad time and doesn’t want to go out, while Linda is struggling looking after Dave with all his falls, i am not a seafood eater but I’m sure they have salad or something.

I am not sure if I will have any of my Saturday kids as i didn’t say we were starting up, I will be ready but rather hope they don’t come . If they don’t, I will send message that regular classes start Monday thru Saturday, miss those little gaffers.

What are you all up to today,

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning. I am starting to better. Congestion is getting better. Yes, Lizzie stays by my side constantly. She is 6 months old now, and weighs 70 pounds. She is growing so fast.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, that was scary. I hope the heart monitor will find any of the problems you need to address.
Susan, you certainly have good reason to remain where you are. I am glad you are feeling better.
Betty, one of the issues with carpet on stairs is that is wears out so much faster than the other carpet.
They did the inspection yesterday without giving me notice. I was in the middle of pulling stuff out of my kitchen & had people scheduled to meet me there later in the day. I wasn't really happy about that!
Our realtor is scheduled to meet with us at 5Pm today. I will just be doing more packing and listing furniture for sale etc today until then. I hope to sell off any of the stuff I don't want before I move.. I got Marie's trundle bed listed and sold last night!

Verona, ON

Snow is on the horizon. If the Weather Liars are right we will have an accumulation of snow. Nothing major just 2 - 3 in.

LK Zeke is like Lizzie. He always has to be with me. Even in the middle of the night when he is sound asleep if I get up I turn around and there he is "keeping watch". I'm happy to read you are feeling a bit better. It is worrisome that the 2 docs gave you different opinions about your meds.

Susan it sounds like you are starting to feel better.

I went to Sydenham this morning to get the TH's kibble and treats. There was hardly anyone out on the roads or in the village. Usually it is busy. Yesterday a woman from the village was walking and she was hit and killed by a vehicle. When I walked every day on the township road my DH used to worry about my safety. He bought me a reflective vest to wear.

Betty have you seen the TV ads for Revitive (sp) ? I used to laugh at Warren when he complained about his feet hurting. Now I understand.

Pat I understand your annoyance about the inspector coming when you were busy elsewhere.

Nothing much planned for the weekend. I think I will work on my latch hook panel. I'm getting tired of it and am anxious to start the 1 I have that is of wolves.

Oh Pat that's annoying about the inspector turning up when you were busy elsewhere. Did your second shed sell?

Stay safe and well everyone.

We had our first snow of the year, about 3", but temps are now in the mid 30's and some has melted. The pups had a good time, though. They love being outside, and I have to practically tackle them one at a time to get a leash on them to bring them in.

Thumbnail by momcat Thumbnail by momcat Thumbnail by momcat
(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

When will the pups get the glorious long hair on their tails?

No snow here yet but the forecast is for COLD. I need to adjust all the heat at my house so if the heat pump can't keep up the ceiling auxiliary heat will turn on.

I have an appointment to show the 2nd shed tomorrow before church, the 300+ Johnstone books, the Valentine towel & shower curtain with art, & the loveseat. Other items have had some interest but no appointments. Marie is taking pictures; I am making listings & answering messages as fast as I can.

I have the list of things the buyer wants "fixed" at my house and it's reasonable, now to get it done! Some of their comments/requests did not make sense to me so I will need clarification.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, no snow expected here and my region but i watched weather radar and see it is moving towards Dianne, hope it misses her.

Dianne, i will have to research Revitive. Sorry to hear of the lady losing her life, difficult for the family having such a loss and for the driver of the vehicle. My friend who lived across the road hit someone who also passed, she ended up never driving again and many years in therapy.

Deb, those dogs are so enjoying themselves, can understand why they don’t want to go back in. Interested in knowing about their regal coats as well.

Pat, the month is moving on, this will soon be over and you get to play and have fun.bet your neighbours are sorry to see you leave. I am sure listing and keeping up with posts are very time confusing and takes up a good part of your day.

Lindakay, hope yet mor improvement today. 70lbs, he will be pulling you around shortly.is Lizzie a very obedient dog?

Msusanis it a day of rest for you?

coffee/cereal time, Iam debating spend ping a couple of hours organizing fabric til Ezra gets here or nap lol. He stopped coming last year when mom had new baby now I’ve no slots to put him in but I said if he wanted to come early every 2nd Sunday I could manage.

Our outing to Red Lobster was enjoyable. Was nice seeing Linda and Suzanne laughing. I had chicken Alfredo, ate a tad less than half so guess what is for eats tonight.

Hoping to finish the 4 season’s front attachments for the pillow i got together yesterday.

Decision time, nap or not

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

They keep their fluffy puppy coats until about a year to 18 months old, then, they will lose that as the silky adult coat comes in. Horrible time, with lots of grooming, otherwise it all mats up quickly!

We got a little more snow overnight, but, temps are just above freezing. I had one pup bathed so we could go to a training class this afternoon. That's not happening now, because I'm not up for grooming again this morning.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

My kitchen floor matches the mud outside. I've given up this weekend. All 3 pups are just gross.

Today is my son's birthday, I was supposed to go out to his house today, it's about an hour drive, but, roads are icy. I was at the eye doctor on Friday, I've got an abrasion on my cornea, and I'm on an eye drop and an ointment, and I can't put my contact in that eye, so half the world is in focus, and half isn't. Decided with the icy roads, and my eyesight, I was better off staying home.

We're supposed to get more snow this upcoming week. If it just stays below freezing, it will be fine. I hate this mid 30's stuff.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am glad you decided to stay home Deb, dangerous combination. How did you get the eye abrasion?

I sold the cement bench and ceramic birdbath before church & got stood up for the Valentine stuff.

The guy buying the Johnstone books sure didn't understand the volume of 300 books. He brought 4 filing size boxes LOL. I had it all bagged, 9 kitchen garbage sacks.

Patio rug, pink garden bench, couch & loveseat, picnic table, all sold.

Well.... I sold everything that anyone came to see except the nasty queen bed that I bought for staging. It was AWFUL. I really was just selling the platform base and headboard and hoping they would take the mattress away so I did not have to, and the last thing tonight, my pansy area rug.

That was everything I had an appointment for, going home again.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, wants to snow or rain but hasn’t so far.

Glad you stayed home Deb especially with bad weather conditions, long drive when weather doesn’t cooperated and you are having trouble with your eye. Those scratches can be so sore.how is the eye doing today?

You should be proud of yourself Pat, that is a lot of big pieces you will not have to drag along with you. You must describe and put a $$ value on items that make them attractive to potential Byers.

I was out of the house at 6:30a.m. dropped off a package for Darlene’s sister and BIL, they are leaving to visit with Darlene next week then on to chiropractor. Bought painting tape at Home Depot and a runner, runner matched perfectly in colour but is too wide so i will return it Wednesday. Did groceries and home by 9. I not sooner got in that Greg stopped in for short visit.

Greg was telling me Melanie is in a purging of furniture items as well, he said yesterday most of the day they were delivering items to buyers just to get rid of the NOW, wants to redecorate.

I am sitting here with cold compress froggy on my back, feels good.

Marie at the door

I didn't have much to show for my day. I got the twin bed sold but the queen was multiple no shows. Met with the realtor gave my official stand on the buyer's requests for repairs etc. Picked up Tim & he's working on the sewing room/ soon to return to Living room status.
Marie on the other hand! Met with title company & made store returns and got lots done.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, sky is dark, cancelled school bus routes asa they are forecasting freezing rain, see that heaviest will be in Dianne’s area.

Was also seeing Lindakay that Texas is being hit with its 2nd major snow storm, will you be affected? How are you feeling, are meds helping? happy belated birthday Lindakay, i must make sure when I check into Facebook I look for upcoming birthdays.

Pat, why do people do that, make appointments then no show, least the could do is call and cancel. That sounds great that Marie is getting more involved and managing well. Are you able to meet the demands of your sale requirements? Are they major?

Pat and June are suppose to come this morning but with threat of freezing rain i am not sure. Giorgia comes at 4 but i think I will call seeing her bus is not running and see if she will come this afternoon instead.

Still working on finding shelf space for all that fabric the kids were gifted with before Christmas so off i go before i get lazy

Good morning everyone.

We are under a winter storm warning with lots of snow falling. I can't complain though as Sunday was out first plow of the winter.

Are you expecting this snow Betty ?

The weather has been playing havoc with my IP connection. I've lost so many posts I can't even tell you how many.

Stay safe everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning.
Yesterday was cold and windy. High was 20 degrees but felt like 5 degrees with the wind. Very little snow, but the roads were very slick. Lots of accidents all around us.
I am feeling a bit better. Seems to be just a head cold now, but the running nose and coughing won't stop.
Betty, those pillows are beautiful. Betty, my birthday is June 13th.

This message was edited Jan 9, 2024 11:09 AM

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Linda Kay - then you got a Early happy birthday wish! Glad that you're feeling better. Head colds still aren't very nice (not that we expect being sick to be Nice lol). Sorry to hear about all the accidents. Stay safe & warm, please.
Betty, you? Lazy? Not since I first met you here........ about 18 years ago? Something like that lol
Dianne - glad you're staying safe - dump of snow? Who shovels your walk, etc?
Pat - good for Marie. She's really getting into this "prep for moving". Sounds like she's excited. Geeze - buy the bed for staging & no one wants it? Strange.

Well, caught Bob on camera again, when I was at coffeetime yesterday. He walked onto the property alongside my neighbour's place (she's in Cuba) thinking the camera wouldn't see him there - coming AND going. Guess he didn't realize that I have a camera in the back too. He was recorded going into the Shelter Logic that I have, with all his stuff in it. It's not his anymore, btw - he forfeited it when it wasn't picked up in a timely fashion. He knows my schedule & watches for when I'm gone. I put the recordings on a flash drive & took it to the RCMP last night. A friend came & house sat for me so there was a car in the driveway. Creeps me out that he watches for when I'm gone & he knows my schedule. Today I was supposed to go to a meeting a couple of blocks away, but I begged off, and they decided to have it at my home instead. Boy am I glad that I've been doing a "super cleaning"! Place is looking good. The RCMP tried to call Bob to tell him that he'd been caught breaching the Peace Bond for a 3rd time, but he doesn't answer ph#s he doesn't ask. So, I'm not going to leave my home unguarded. Until they reach him I just won't go anywhere. Not an issue, because it's going to be COLD here. The weather's been great up to now, but it's going to drop to -28F. We'll get this for about a week. Previous to this we've been getting a lot of snow. I guess 2 weeks of nasty weather is what we expect. After all, if IS winter lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon,

Dianne, blizzard conditions here, so far no internet interruptions and hopefully stays that way. It’s always when we get freezing that chances increase for loss of power then I’m in trouble re sump pump. How is your needlework project going! Good time to sit by a roaring fire and fill in your day.

Lindakay, from what i hear from many who have caught that bug the cough is endless and lasts for months. I assume very few people have snow tires in Texas. Hmmm thought someone told Jaye on Facebook it was your birthday yesterday unless i misread or they meant a different Linda..glad i didn’t miss it.

Susa, will that man ever learn, with tragedies happening so often to wives who put a Peace Bond against boyfriends/husbands and they turn bad i cannot understand why it’s not being pursued to higher degree. Think you should remind them of this and insist something done or what is the use of having one.

Once you get at it doesn’t take long to make a difference. I was cleaning and organizing fabric cupboards in computer room, just off the craft room i do it so often then you pull this material out, that material and just stick it back in, I’m my worse enemy.

Cooked myself a big lunch and now laying on couch with Dr.Ho trying to help those shoulders.

Been listening to weatherman, he seems to think in the morning we will get heavy rains, if that is the case i may as well not snowblow, just let the rain take it away. But, weathermen have been known to be wrong.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - the RCMP told Bob after the 2nd time (Dec 14 & 21) that he had breached the Peace Bond twice and warmed him to stay away from the property as well as me. There's no reasoning with someone with dementia though. He knows that it's going to court and he's been charged. This 3rd time, the constable told me that the judge is not going to look favourably on him, may get a couple of days of jail time, and mental evaluation. The constable said to put his stuff out on the street with a "free, take away" sign. He doesn't realize how much STUFF that would be, with construction ladders, table saw, etc, plus bins of clothing and smaller tools. It would take me hours just to put it out. The 1st time he was here, the constable told him to get a moving truck, but Bob wanted "friends" to help him for nothing. They weren't willing to get into a property division squabble, so wouldn't help. I honestly would be more fair than they expect. If he had come with notice & proper backup, there would be SO much that I would freely have given, but he forfeited all rights to "his" stuff by taking overlong, and unprepared. He should have had the stuff gone before the end of Nov, and now it's into January. I have sympathy with him as a person with dementia, but I DON't have patience with the things he's putting me through. I will take care of myself. A child of God he is, but can't play in MY sandbox.

Susan, I am sorry Bob is putting you through this. Very unfair.

Linda, I am wishing your recovery was faster as I am sure you are too!

The wind has been brutal today. I will be surprised if we don't have downed trees in town.

Tim is really getting with it. He has patched the walls and is getting the primer on now. He has all the baseboard in place and was able to patch in the remaining laminate flooring. The contractors had not put the "good stuff" under the cabinets when they designed and made the sewing room.. They had used the stuff that Marie had removed, REALLY close but not identical. Tim scrouged enough to barely finish by using some short pieces.

Marie & I worked on the garage for several hours, then I went into town & dropped off all the current donations and books to various people. Pick up & drop off RX for dog, Met buyer at the house and sold queen bed. The queen "staging" bed was really a very used and nasty queen mattress. I don't blame anyone for not wanting it. If I had not been lied to & bought it sight unseen, I wouldn't have taken it either, not even for free! lol. I will make a run to the dump with mattress a little later.

We are researching different companies 's storage "Pod" to transport and store some of our stuff while some remodeling is completed in the new house. I could get my sheds emptied in advance into the Pod, then have it transported to new house as soon as the deal closes & we get occupancy 1.21. We can rent 8 x 20 for 2 months @ $200 and get the 3rd month free. Each pick up and delivery is another $95. So---drop off my house $95 then pickup and drop off Cotswold (new house), $95 empty & take it to Marie's ($95), Return to Cotsworth (95) THEN return to rental, 5 @ $95 + $400 for the 3 months rental. All and all, I think that is the route we will go. that will give us a place to store stuff to keep it clean and dry & let us pack and unpack at our leisure.

Today, I discovered the power of perseverance - pushing through challenges makes us stronger. On the downside, I realized the importance of double-checking details. Newcomers, pull up a chair! Let's share our daily lessons and grow together.
