Susan, good for you meeting up with friends. Paula had to cancel her flight to see me when she was having health issues and was facing surgery. I doubt I will even get to see my local son Adam at Christmas, Dana won't be home and Clayton (in China), Kevin doesn't celebrate Christmas.
LOL, Betty don't you just hate that? Thankfully google can answer most of my questions when I am having trouble taking something apart. Sometimes it's just a matter of no hand strength, when I'm lucky "it's just a button".
.
Marie has an appt for an oil change this afternoon and we need to also stop at Costco. This time of year, Costco is a ZOO!
Best, Worse, What did I learn today? Come take a chair and chat a bit! newcomers alway welcomed!
It goes until Jan 6 - guess it's then a New Year's Day Festival of Lights plus lol
https://discoverywildlifepark.com/light-the-night-2/
I delivered one ornament today, and although she didn't open it, she knew what it was because we were making them on the day she was away.

Betty, looks like you will have your white Christmas.
I drove to Del Rio Sunday after church. Little over 7 straight hour drive. Met the realtor at my old house. Going to put it on the market. Drove back to Amarillo Tuesday. That's a long time driving.
yeah, long drive, Linda Kay!
It looks like our snow is going down. After the snowstorm we had on Thurs, it's about time. Highways were closed, 2 fatalities and a real mess. Glad to see it go.
FINALLY our society is in Active status with Registries Alberta. Our Credit Union had our account (Kneehill Area Wellness) in a "stuck" position because apparently I wasn't filing things Registries needed. I got some help with filing and everything's fine again. I do NOT like being a treasurer with a Society. Told our board that I was not going to do it anymore. 4 years is enough.
It's good to pick and choose what you want Susan.
Linda, that's one job that is now behind you. Good for you.
We took the car in for the oil change & had them check the warning light that came on. The Automatic start button has a battery that was dying... additional 1.5 hours and $300 later, we finally we on the road again.
We killed time in Crafter's Warehouse, I used self-restraint and came out with the one bottle of acryclic paint I needed and tin of sugar free "Ice Chips".
I get my realtor report this afternoon - Brad will summarize the feedback he is getting from the showings.
Pat, thst seems pricey for an oil change and small battery.
Good luck on your report. I pray it's all good news.
Afternoon
Dull kind of day here, covered with snow but likely by Christmas if we don’t get snow it will be gone.
Susan, i would not want responsibility dealing with group funds, you can never please everyone and when money comes into the picture even more so. You are right, after 4 years it’s time for someone else to take over and you just enjoy your t8me in the group. Glad your weather is better, hope it holds up til Christmas.
Pat, is Crafters warehouse something like Michael’s? You did very well refraining from adding to your craft supplies lol I am sure you are anxious to get feedback from the open houses, hope there are a few who are weighing pros and cons and an offer soon to be made.do all cars have electric start or just those sold in colder climates.
Lindakay, when the house is sold can all paperwork be done by computer? Long trip for sure but then you got to spend time with your son.
Was at the chiropractor for 7:15am,had a meeting, some measuring, X-rays, doctorsupper nice, quite an establishment. I go January 2nd at 6pm to have a consultation with the doctor as to what the X-rays showed.
He did the X-ray’s himself and just as I was leaving he said he could see why I was in so much pain, guess I’ll find out in the 2nd.
Picked up a few things in town, so need a gift for Mel,absolutely no idea what to get so home I came. I ended up messaging her for a list, she came back with Jammies, well that is always a staple for everyone, give me clues, no clues, finally I said manicures/pedicure's/massages? She says she goes to Huronia Mall for those so guess Friday I will take a run 8nto town and get some gift coupons.
Sure doesn’t feel like Christmas!!! Just, putGrasons bear in a Christmas bag, not a lot for me to do now.
Sharon did not go to the city yesterday but is on her way this afternoon to pick up mom,imag8ne they will be here around 6-7, i will cook supper for them, won’t be long once we have eaten I will be in bed.
Think it’s bath time,averaging 3-4 a day, nobody can say I am dirty 😜
About time you get results as to your pain.
That throw is beautiful.
Good for Ari! It can't help but boost her confidence and self esteem! she is doing amazing work,
The "battery" can also be thought of as a relay from ignition to engine. Not like a simple AAA battery! THAT part alone was the $300.
I hope the DC can be of some help to you Betty. IMHO Crafters Warehouse is even much better than Michaels. Also, the way they display stuff really calls my name so I am pleased I got out so cheap, it wasn't easy.
Marie is in town running errands and completing Christmas tasks. The weather is mild so I am taking advantage of that by working on the garage entry shelves. She has 3 big shelving units that have become catch all with no rhyme or reason. I am working to eliminate stuff that can now be donated and bring some order to the rest. She'll have to ultimately make some hard decisions no doubt. It's tough when you live a long ways out and you like some specialty items that are not consistently stocked. It leads to buying big quantities when you do find it.
I am sure lindakay Ari’s throw is displayed at her grandma’s in full view. Am anxious to get his opinion on the 2nd.
Was listening to the news and it said major snow storm predicted for Tennessee, hard to believe with us having but a few inches and a lot turned into slush this afternoon and likely gone in the next day or so.
How far is Marie’s from main shopping area?
This is the latest I’ve been up in months lol
Kyle dropped in at 6 to give me a photo, I’ll post it tmr. Shows the 3 of them and in front is a sign that says, not just Santa coming to town, picture of ultrasound saying arrival in July..believe 2nd.
While we gabbed a van pulled at the drive, Kyle said a young boy was coming to the door, by the time i got there he was in the car and a shout stayed Merry Christmas, we put something on your door.
How nice
Mom and Sharon got here at 8, made mom promise that if she needed to take Bella out to wake me up, don’t want her falling and i not find her til morning.
What a nice way to acknowledge the effort home owners make to decorate their homes for Christmas.
Marie's at least 30 minutes away from most shopping. I gathered 2 garbage bags full the coffee and creamer that Phil liked (and Marie doesn't). That was the tip of the iceberg. Not done but getting better.
Marie went to the thrift store & brought home clothes. The dressing rooms are no longer available, you have to buy & bring back what does not fit. We tried on those & clothes out of her closet and alter rack. Unfortunately for me, she is shorter in the legs than me so I rarely can use her pants unless she has "shrunk past them" without getting them hemmed. She is only 1 pant size smaller than me at the moment. We'll take them to my house, my machines & thread are still available so we can do the alterations. .
Betty - I'd like to see a closeup on Ari's quilt. Is that possible?
$300 for the part isn't unreasoable, but really glad you got back on the road.
Hoping the realtor's report is favourable.
Today bowling, tonight the light show.
Tomorrow I'm taking the day OFF and going to relax at home (I think........... but things change lol)
Saturday & Sundaay it's off to Red Deer to volunteer at the casino. I'd better be over this cold by then. My sinuses have cleared, now to take care of this new cough.
What a Jonah day..........
#1 - 2 ladies at bowling freaked out on me that I went with the last bit of a cold, so I left
#2 - got emails from my security system showing Bob on the property. Mind you, he had the motorhome towed away, but he's NOT to be on the property without my knowledge & consent
#3 - I was at the grocery store when my driver car door refused to open, and wouldn't open when I rolled down the window & tried from the outside handle. I had to climb over the console to the passenger side to get out. Now the driver door works that way, but not from inside. My car goes in on Wed to get the solinoid replaced, but now it's the door too........ arrrrrgh

Betty, that was nice of them to acknowledge your beautiful lights.
Pat, it's never easy to dispose of things you have had for years. When I moved to Amarillo we sorted when we got here. My daughter in law helped me organize the sewing, crafty things, everything else was Todd's, and it's now split evenly between the 2 boys. It's thier problem now.
Susan, I hope you called the RCMP to file a complaint. That's 3 times now. He should be in jail.
Susan, WOW, Bob is REALLY cruising! Hard to believe he could be so stupid.
Linda, you have done so much of the work already. I pray it will go quick and smooth for you.
I had another showing for my house today. No feedback yet. Marie & I went out and saw 8 houses today! Oh my,... I think we have found "the house". We have our realtor starting negotiations. It is so beautiful I am afraid to think it really will go through! There will be NO place for my storage Hickory sheds, the back yard is too small by the time you are required to set back 5 feet from property line, 5 feet from the covered patio etc, etc. I will start the process of getting them sold.
I dont' want to jinx it... I will send a link when/ if our offer is accepted.
Praying you get the house Pat.
Thanks Linda, sending prayers for a speedy sale of your home too!
I tried to report him yesterday, but got put to another dept & was on hold. Finally had to let the line go & go to my friend Dianne's. Waited there until I knew he was gone. Watched the security footage on my phone. I saved all the security footage to a flash drive & took it in this morning to the RCMP. It took me most of a year to feel omfortable opening my curtains & leaving the house. Now I'm right back to that point. At the RCMP they asked if I was ok. No, not really. They'll contact Victim Services to contact me.
Last night I saw a fire truck & rescue. Turns out that my friend & neighbour, Randy, died a couple of days ago from a heart attack. I didn't know that his friend (he lived with him) Ron was away. I've been trying to get in touch with Randy - knocked on his door, phoned, and messaged him. No answer. I could have called 911 for a Wellness Check. Ron's son checked & found Randy.
I hope everyone's ok - no posts for a day?
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night :)
Take care, everyone :)
Good luck with the police Susan.
Betty, I hope you took your mom to urgent care. That sore looks serious. She needs antibiotics.
How did she do that?
Morning, Christmas Eve morning, fog just lifting
Crazy weather
Thought I’d sit for 5 before i have to get up and get ready things done before family.
Lindakay, she was at Walmart in fruit department, a man brought on a slat filled with boxed oranges and the slat had a wooden piece sticking out, she was getting oranges and it got her in the leg. They did a report, she should be getting up soon so I will give her a bath, she won’t hear of it but i shall insist, let it soak for a bit and we’ve ointment to help with infection. She won’t hear of going to emerge and sitting for 8-10 hours.she likely will be going home Wednesday and says she will go to her doctor but I’ll keep a close eye on her.
With what I’ve seen these past 3 days she should be in an apartment with special care, she is feeble.
Don’t know if I mentioned earlier about her stupidly putting her shoes at the start of my basement stairs, i will check next opportunity I get to get on.
Pat, sure hope you get an offer on your home and the dream house is possible.
Extra hugs for you Lindakay
Dianne, are you getting this odd weather?
Just heard mom’s bedroom door open, best i catch her before she dresses herself for her bath
Always a hard decision, when they get older.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Merry Christmas everyone, hope your day finds love in it.
Quiet here this morning, mom soon should be getting up soon,I’ve tried to stay quiet as a mouse, just sit and enjoy a coffee, I’ve got so many sweets to taste, majority of the kids gave me home baked goods and the other gift certificates for Shannon’s next door.trying to think if they would freeze well??
I took bedding off my bed, got lovely flannel sheets for Christmas and couldn’t wait to put them on the bed. Got mega $$$, so if i can find someone who would stay here with Ziffy I will fly to South Carolina or yet if i could find someone to stay here drive, if only I knew if weather will stay same.
Does not feel like Christmas, i made a few trips to garbage bins without a jacket and it’s actually quite mild.
Supper st Sharon’s, i do the turnip and cranberries, need to bring the dishes upstairs, ended up freezing 4 containers of Chinese other than that am just pitter patter around the house.
Will leave a little earlier though to drop into Suzanne’s, hard one for her.
What are you all up to
Merry Christmas everyone !!
Gray day here and like Betty fairly warm.
Quiet day here. I'll drop up to Kieran's later this afternoon for a bit.
Hope your day is everything you want it to be,
Merry Christmas to all of you!! I hope you spending it will family & other loved ones.
We were at Marie's son's Chris & family last night and my neighbors from Jean st came caroling to us. That is 20 MILES away, they came to deliver a beautiful white chocolate nativity scene. Marlyn & Jack have been such a blessing in my life.
I am at Marie's, Chris & family are coming over from next door. Our brother Mark is coming for breakfast and then he will return with wife for dinner in the evening. My son Adam is catching a ride with Mark. His family drove to Shelton to surprise the oldest daughter. He didn't want to go, 5 hours with an arm cast was too painful.
We are under contact for the house want.
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/6002-Cotswold-Ln-Pasco-WA-99301/246111587_zpid/?
We have a closing date of 1/19/24. Whether one of our houses will sell before or not, we will manage it.
How exciting is that Pat, beautiful home
Bet Marie is finally getting getting exciting.
Glad you are going for a visit Dianne, awfully icy out there, be watchful
Will you take the TH with you?
I sooo would love to climb into bed and relax but cannot do that. Just remembered that Suzanne has 3 dogs at her house, Great Dane +2, one is a puppy and jumps a lot so I think it would make a difference of 20 minutes if i bring mom to Sharon’s then back track, have a visit with Suzanne then drive back to Sharon’s.
Yuck, was thirsty, here all those pkgs of 6 Pepsi are zero sugar, have to find someone to give them too. Hope Sharon has real pop.
Enjoy the rest of the day
I'm with you, Betty - if you're going to have pop, have the real stuff lol Do you think your mom will be agreeable to go to a care home?
Pat, lovely home! Are you the "pending"?
Another Christmas has come and gone. It was sure busy and I'm tired. Sat & Sun I was at the casino. Saturday we paid out just under $50,000. I started at 1pm, and got home at 5:30am Sunday. One hour sleep then had to go back and start at 1pm again. It was quieter with "only" just under $30,000 paid out in winnings to the players. We ate well, with turkey dinner at the casino. I taught a couple of card games to 2 of the ladies. Got home at 3:30am.Christmas morning and got pcked up by my ride at 11:30 to the Legion Christmas dinner.
Tomorrow I need to go to the Wellness' credit union to transfer $$ between our 2 accounts so that cheque I had to write for our food at the casino will go through. We get reimbursed for it, but they want the payment on Wed. Then I'm off to a friend's for their "grazing" buffet, afternoon to evening. I'll bring a cherry cheesecake to share.
I'm so tired. I'll sleep well tonight. I worked hard those 2 days, and 4 hours total sleep isn't enough, but it's too early to go to sleep.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. It was 59 degrees here yesterday, with rain off and on. Hoping for the temps to finally drop. Frozen ground here = cleaner floors, because the dogs aren't tracking in mud!
We had my brother and son and their families at my daughter's house for Christmas Eve, and for Christmas Day, went out to my son's to open gifts, then up to my brother's in Wisconsin for Christmas Dinner, along with my daughter. It was nice getting together with everyone.
Hoping to get some work done around the house this week, since I'm off work.
Yes, that is us in "Pending" until the deal closes. "Under contract" would have been more accurate now.
Susan, NO way could I have done what you have!
I hope all are safe and healthy this Christmas season. Be careful out there! The weather can be so fickle.
Good morning. Getting ready to go to urgent care. My allergies/head cold I believe is trying to settle in my chest. Need to have it checked so it doesn't turn to pneumonia.
We had a great Christmas here. Cold but still no snow.
Pat, congratulations on the new home. Praying it's everything you need.

Linda, good, better safe than sorry! I hope they can treat you with meds/ other and get you on the road to recovery quickly.
Well I got lost in the turmoil of Christmas. Grandson is back from his church mission, and if off to BYU, Idaho in two weeks. He left a child and returned a man. He told everyone at dinner on Christmas that he has decided he wants to be a dentist. No dentist in the family so that will be good.
I have no Christmas decorations to put away because I did not get any out. First year in over 50 years. It is not a permanent thing. I just need to get into a smaller home but cannot do anything until Brian's condo is repaired and they just started on the on that burned down about a month ago, after 2 years.
All is well. Betty, that wound on your mother's leg looks terrible. ``~~~. Just discovered those on my computer. I hope you can make arrangement for Ziggy so you can venture down to North Carolina.
Susan, I could not function on those hours you put in. Bet you saw some fun things.
Pat, that is a lovely home. Gray is the new in color. I need a back landscape that size. But knowing me I would make it more work.
Hugs to all of you. Merry Christmas.
Fun things? Well, not really. I was in a room with 3 other people looking after things. I was the one at the cashier's window, but mainly between cashing in chips, I played cards with the others in the room. No gambling though LOL
Yesterday's turkey dinner at the Legion was good. After it, I came home & relaxed, and "grazed" rather than eat a "real" meal.
After I got rid of a splitting headache this afternoon, I went to Maureen & Greg's come & go day. I stayed, and we played cards until 10pm. We played "tens". It's a fun card game.
I didn't go to the credit union today - they were closed. Tomorrow I'll go there, then bring my car to the mechanic's here to get my solinoid replaced. In the afternoon I'm going to the next hamlet over for a "hot dog & hot chocolate" winter festival at 2pm, then at 5pm they'll have fireworks. If I don't have my car in time, Maureen said she'll give me a ride. She'd like to go too. Dianne said she's going as well. Should be fun - I know a lot of people in that hamlet.
Good morning everyone. It's a foggy, gray day here. When I got up I couldn't even see the lake from the deck.
Betty your mom's leg looks painful.
Pat your home looks lovely. I really enjoyed looking at the pics.
We didn't walk this morning. I was afraid Zeke would get lost in the fog. I guess I could have fastened 1 of the bear bells on his collar. I'll do that before we walk.
Betty how is your mom handling Aunt Muriel's passing? I'm hoping you get to have some rest time while you have company. I bet Greyson was a delight to watch on Christmas Day.
LK is your house on the market now? Forgive me if you have already told us.
BBL
Morning all, so mild,
Sounds like awonderfulfamilygatherinSharon.i smiled when I heard you say you will look for smaller place, I cannot imagine you leaving your gardens. Will have to check how far Idaho is from you.
Susan, you keep yourself beyond busy, helps this time of year, you sure didn’t go without eats.maybe you can get comfy on couch tomorrow and rest, sounds like you more than overdid.
Pat i get so confused, old age you know lol, is it your home that may be sold? If so when is the closing date. If it is your house would you be able to then put offer on the one you so want?
Dianne, did you get to go out Christmas Day? I imagine your weather is much the same as here, bet you are saving on wood the you are burning.can you recall weather such as this in past decades?
How are you feeling today Lindakay, hope urgent care was able to provide meds that quickly eases the discomfort. You are prone to pneumonia right? Did some of the quilts find homes over Christmas?
Deb, how are things go8ng 8n your neck of the woods, is the weather different this year? How are the puppies doing? Did you spend Christmas at your daughter dar she at your home?
promised I’d take mom to Costco this morning as she needs a few personal items and they are cheaper there but am letting her sleep in as it’s so foggy so best wait until it lifts.
I can either go to Orillia, 20 minute drive or Barrie 40 minutes away. Will make my choice when I call to see if my cousin and his family are up to visitors, glad he made it through Christmas though, so if ok then i will go to Barrie, stop into Costco, then the quiltz etc. store that might have a quilt set for my bedroom then maybe out for lunch.
Sharon doubtfully will be able to join us because her back is so bad but I will ask.
Ooos mom just got up, best i decide what we will do
I did 12 of the 26 bins of Christmas yesterday, sure would have loved staying inmy nighty and do8ng more..big sigh
I got antibiotics at urgent care. Sinus infection and bronchitis. Should be feeling better in a few days.
Linda, glad to hear that the clinic is treating your infections.
Susan, the headache eased up with some sleep??
Sharon, no matter where you go (and when), I know you will make it into a beautiful garden of Eden. It will be smaller than what you currently have but no doubt GORGEOUS when you are done with it!
Dianne, how is Chaos doing today? you and being able to see so much of your family over Christmas.
Debbie, I envy your opportunity to see so many of your kids over the holiday.
Betty, my house is on the market, we are trying to get Marie's ready to go ON the market! We are buying a house BEFORE either of ours's gets sold. The inspection is today and tentative closing date of 1/19 and possession on 1/21. Having a place to move a lot of Marie's stuff while getting her house ready will be such a blessing. I will sell off most of my furniture and not move it.
Gray and open floor plan are still "in" but on their way out. People are realizing that as nice as having all the open space is, it comes with the price of having "everything" being seen, whether you want to have it visible or not! You can't isolate an area for heating or privacy like in a more closed floor plan. I liked having my sewing room behind a door and could choose if people see it or not. The kitchen on this new home is "right there" for the world to see. It will be interesting to see what things Marie chooses to change. We were studying pictures this morning trying to plan where we could add more storage. We'll know more after the inspection today, taking measurements and sketching the layout etc.
Brrr chill of the night setting in, that or getting rained on while doing a few stores.
Bronchitis is terrible, hoping the meds help you heal quickly Lindakay.
Dianne she seems to be doing ok, I’ve noticed she has no wish like she usually does to phone her brother in B.C.in her mind she thinks he should have been watching her every footstep, each time mom does something that could cause her arm i remind her how easily things can happen, as for her leg it’s all dried up, she left her pant leg up over the wound and i guess it’s drying it up.yes, on our way to Barrie this morning on could have easily gotten lost..TH is quick on their feet so Lord knows how far the could have gotten.
Susan, is the light show tonight? The days are jumbling..am thinking today was car repair and lights, mind you it seems your days are always filled so you may have other plans. What is your weather like?
Pat, you must be as though you are making a few steps forward, hoping it happens sooner than later. You seem to be so organized with all of this.open concept is wonderful but not so sure it would be for me. You will have so much fun playing with how it can be decorated. Is it near stores?
Sharon, I also should have added that I’m sure wherever you move to a you will have glorious gardens.if it’s not house i can see you on top floor with rooftop gardens.
Ended going to Barrie Costco as Linda wanted to join us, mom got all she needed, wasn’t overly busy, then off to Georgian mall to Quiltz Etc. we both bough a quilt with shams and furry throws. There wasn’t a whole lot to pick from but that is ok as i change quilts often as Ziggy likes clawing then drove back way to Home Depot, i needed paint and a roll of instruction plastic so I can wrap Xmas tree layers in for easier storage than a box.
Sharon did not come with us, her back is so bad but she did say tomorrow morn8ng she would take mom to Norms Garden Gallery.
Think mom is going home Saturday, not that she is any trouble but i like, love being on my own.
Am heading to bed, after carrying the big heavy boxes from Costco my shoulders need rest.
