All my daughters and granddaughters have pearls of their own. The great grand girls will inherit from their moms.Becky has her set for one granddaughter and her daudhter has a set for the second, but she has a third that wouldn't inherit pearls so she was short one set.. This now makes a set for all three girls.
Best, Worse & what did I learn today?come sit and chat for awhile..newcomers always welcome!
How wonderful Karen, am sure they will cherish them.. how are you both?
Walt is not too good, still sleeps a lot. Just a few more days.
I had a CT today Gastro thinks I have something called SIBO and not an ulcer. She had them get me in for the scan today because the pain is worse.Hope I hear from her tomorrow. She didn't want to order something for pain until she had a dianosis so she orders the right thing. At least now I got things speeded up.
My trip with Dana & Carrie is the end of next month, April 21 thru 28. I have NO idea when the closing is so no idea if it will be before, during or after A&A's move. I honestly have NO idea what is going on next door.
My neighbor offered to bring over fill dirt in a wheelbarrow & both Adam & Andrea ignored my text. Guess when the time comes they will need to find their own fill dirt for all these huge holes the dogs have dug.
Karen, I am glad that the MD is being more pro-active about investigating the source of your pain & treating it. Let's pray she can get it taken care of & ease your pain. Praying for Walt's success as well.
I love that grow set up you have Betty. Such a nice gift.
Karen, that is an awesome deal on the pearls. Praying you and Walt get relief soon.
Pat, I know you will love the resort trip. Take photos for us.
Cool morning but i did go out and burn a bit in the pit, wind came up so decided to let it die down.now a couch potato. Should go to town but think I will wait til i do my groceries.
Pat that must be a terrible way to live right now, not even being kept in the loop, not knowing if they are staying yet for another few months or longer. Do think he should be dropping in, LIKE he Iives in same house to letting you know a play by play of what is going on, what plan they have if they don’t get the home etc..big sigh..get away can’t come soon enough. How is the situation at Marie’s?
Story to hear about Walt Karen, May you results come in so you can get the correct meds..hard living in pain when you know there is meds out there that can help.
How are you both doing Lindakay? Is Todd putting on more weight?i imagine you are enjoying better temps.
Dianne, how are you getting about? TH seeing a few squirrels, birds must be begging to get out more than usual. Cathy said the robins are arriving, think they should wait a tad longer, snowflakes shown on weather station over the next month.
Sharon, do use the planting shelves and light for growing from seed?
Sharon & I went and picked up denim scraps today that were offered on the "buy nothing" site. We used them to cut out blocks for another denim quilt for her grandkids. We found a fabric she likes for the backing & she will be ordering it shortly so it's ready.
Today's Wednesday so Adam should be home sometime today. Maybe I will be given an update.
Marie & Phil's daughter Erin is flying in tomorrow night & back out Monday. ONLY Erin, not the rest of the family.
Local quilt show is this Friday and I am looking forward to it. I will take pictures and post.
Just a quick drop in,
Hope you get an update
Was gabbing with Joyce (Joycet) her BIL was talking to her about his sisters quilts, think 5, all hand sewn and quilted, they are beautiful, he was willing to give them to her but she said no, she was at a meeting and was telling friends about the offer, the said don’t wait til you get home, call him right away and say you want them..he said he would give her what she had them in/on couldn’t remember so it’s either a quilt ladder or quilt box..will post photo’s of quilts
WOW.... can't imagine turning a quilt away! I glad to hear her friends talked sense into her! LOL
I have 2 of my grandma's quilts. I do not have them on display, I have mixed feelings about that. I wish I could but I worry about ruining them. I worry about Stanley taking his claws to them. He does not claw furniture but I have had him go after a bath towel.
Those are some beautiful quilts.
omg - I don't feel I can call myself a quilter seeing these! They are gorgeous!
nope, should not turn quilts away, ever!
Beautiful quilts, so glad she got them.
We went to San Antonio yesterday, say the diabetes specialist. Todd was told his diabetes is out if control because his pancreas is not functioning at all. He is now on insulin patches.
MRI was done, just waiting for results.
We left the house at 10 yesterday morning, and didn't get back till 10 last night. It was a long day.
Weather is really nice. Mid 80's all this week.
Todd's weight goes up and down. Holding at about 145 or so.
Light rain, drizzle all day… good thing as it’s washing the snow away.
Isn’t spring before outdoor clean up the dirtiest but i know what comes next some of the prettiest flowers.
What a long trip for Todd Lindakay. Not having knowledge in the medical field can you tell me what they can do to get the pancreas working again? Seems all they are doing is testing, must be so frustrating.
Debbie is getting major surgery on the 28th, won’t be too mobile from waist up.
Cleaning all done, even craft room, thinking I should go to town, purchase potting soil, seed and a picture I want for over my bed..have to see if being a couch potato wins out.
Enjoy your day.
My usual weight loss meeting has been rescheduled to today, instead of Friday because of the quilt show. Marie's daughter comes in this evening. I am going over and help clean for an hour or two (or the day, LOL, I know how this works).
Linda K, continued prayers for Todd's tx and recovery. I know this is hard on both of you.
Sorry to hear about surgery for Debbie, if that fixes the problems, thank goodness!
I have daffodils in bloom! I can see a little color showing on a few tulips, not open yet though.
Nothing can be do e for the pancreas. He is now in insulin.
Please keep Todd in your prayers. We just found out that the MRI showed a large tumor in his kidney.
Doesn’t get easier does it Lindakay, other than saying what they found have that given you another step?? You can live a good life with 1 kidney but hopes it doesn’t come to that. Another worry…
You have me smiling when you say you are helping Marie for a tad then who knows,a full day?? Lol you are a great sister!
Need rolaids, drats
You & Todd remain in my prayers Linda K.
I did not get to help very long, Marie needed to be able to go to the accountants, then see Phil, then airport (of course all 3 things are on opposite ends of town).. I hope after I left she got a quick nap but I doubt it. She had a bunch of returns to do, I took those home with me. I will match receipts and make the returns for her.
We scheduled a preplanning meeting with the funeral home for next Tuesday. This is something Marie has wanted to do but could never seem to get free to do.
They are getting with oncologist to get him back on chemo. Probably take a few days.
Oh no, doesn’t sound good Pat, better before than after.
Mine is done, name even on the tombstone, feels odd when I visit the cemetery.
Hope Lindakay you get news of chemo dates starting soon. Always in my thought and prayers.
I got a call for the heart tests. I have to be there the 11th, injection and complete quietness, go back next day and another injection and exercise. Drats 1 1/2 hrs to then another from each day, hopefully i will not worry about storms.
Had my hair cut today and a short tip to Trader Jo's grocery. I am being so good. Buying very little food
I was going to buy my tomato plants but Nation Weather says jet stream is moving south below us and bringing temperatures that will be 10 to 20 degrees below our normal. So I will just get the mulch covered and paint my fountain.
Linda, that is very disappointing news for Todd. My brother lost a kidney to cancer over 10 years ago. But I know nothing about the pancreas. I will continue to pray for you and Todd and you that you may finally find a Medical Team that has their act together.
Pat, Maria sounds she has her plate full.
Emma is telling me it is time for her dinner. And she does not understand wait.
Good day - where IS everyone today?
I'm taking a "me" day & actually staying home & giving me & my home some love (read, "housecleaning" into that lol)
I am in the hospital with Todd. I woke up at 6 this morning and Todd was in a coma. His sugar level was 45. After we got to the hospital, EKG showed he also suffered a heart attack.
He is out of the coma but still fuzzy headed. Says his chest hurts so thry are giving him morphine.
Waiting gto be transferred to San Antonio hospital to get checked out by heart specialist.
This old lady is a wreck.
Enjoy your day Susan. You deserve a me day.
Omg. Omg Lindakay, you must be terrified..will you get to going in ambulance with him.?
My heart is just pounding, so sad for you. Can’t imagine how you are feeling..hope Toddgets best of care.
Will be watching for updates..our prayers are with you
Enjoy your day Susan, well deserved.
omg Linda Kay - you know you have your prayer warriors here, praying hard for your dear Todd & you!!
Oh Goodness Linda K, you & Todd have been thru so much. You both are in my prayers.
Checking in with prayers
Photo’s from last night
Will try to watch for Northern Lights tonight
That's beautiful, Betty!
Oh mercy Linda. My day was so much easier than yours. Hugs, hugs, hugs.
Betty, as long as there is no date on the stone, everything is still in the right side of things.
Walt's surgery started at 6:45 a.m. and went until 4:30 p.m. The hospital was wonderful about keeping us up dated. Nurse came out about every hour and a half. After the dr came out ans sat with us a good long while explaining everything. Once he was in Cardiac ICU we were all brought back to see him for a few minutes. Of course he wasn't aware but it was comforting to see him looking so good.
I was kept busy answering calls and questions. Walt is very much loved so a lot were waiting for news.
This deary is weary so goodnight to all.
Oh my goodness. Linda, That had to be so frightening waking up and finding Todd. I still think someone doing his medical should get a swift kick in the behind. I pray for you two every night and I will just continue to do so.
Karen, so pleased Walt is out of surgery and in the ICU. Family is very important at these times. Heart surgery is very painful and they keep heart patients pretty well out of it for at least 3 days. Please make sure you get lots of rest.
Susan, so pleased you got a chance to clean up your dwelling. Always fun. But it always looks worse when you are half way through. Now is a good time to toss a few items also.
I had a good day in the garden. I covered the majority of the mulched leaves that were in the front landscape with a mixture of chicken manure, perlite, grown mulch and potting soil. All mixed together into a large wheelbarrow. My garden helper would do the mixing and put the wheelbarrow where I wanted it and I would spread the mixture and cover the mulched leaves. Mulched leaves have been down over 3 weeks and got plenty of rain. With the mixture on top of the mulch, the worms will have a feast eating the mulch. Lots of plants are showing their heads. So are some weeds. I have one area that is just covered with something I do not recognize. I bet it is a weed.
Linda and Karen, sending extra angels your way.
Wanting to hear more news about Todd, but it's bedtime for me.
Sharon - yes, tossing is on the agenda :)
Karen, I am happy to hear that Walt is thru his surgery and doing well. I will continue prayers and looking for your updates.
Linda K, I will continue to pray & look for your updates on Todd. Please take care of yourself. It's hard when a loved one is in the hospital, but YOU need your strength too.
Sharon, if it grows REALLY well, it's likely a weed! LOL
Betty, YOU took those pictures at your house?? I had no idea you could see the Northern lights at your house, WOW!
Anyone wanting to see the quilt show photos, they are posted on https://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1554356/?page=1#post_10548431
Checking in for updates. Prayers there is some improvement for Todd today.
Happy to hear Walt came through his surgery and is looking good.
Morning all, waking up to freezing rain and high winds..winds between 60-80 kl with freezing rain can cause power outages, hope not.
Heart is heavy waiting on news of Todd. Hope Lindakay is not alone…sending prayers
Karen, must have been a pins and needles type of day,.hope while Walt was getting all that excellent nursing care you were able to sleep.
Can’t wait to see photo’s of your gardens. I bought all I need to do some seedlings, tomorrow is the day.
Best I get a move on, today i have 5 students in all, they come in stages, first at 9 , need to get a coffee and toast before first ones come first of them come..
I’ll keep checking for updates
Dropping in before I start my morning .. still praying..will ask wee ones to say a few with me as well..can’t hurt..miracles on their way!
Just checking in for updates. Prayers for all.
Todd is doing much better today. His chest still hurts, and more testing is being done.
We will be here at least until Monday. Once the ambulance left to transfer him to San Antonio, I had to drive back home, get our personal things and change of clothes. I got to San Antonio about midnight. No rest for the wicked.
Thank you all for your prayers.
LK sending positive thoughts and prayers to you and Todd.
