I'm doing fine - busy as always, but fine. Picked up my subpeona for Bob's trial yesterday.
Today it's time to take my tax forms in to be done, then off to crib.
You are all in my prayers, daily and as I go to sleep.
Best, Worse & what did I learn today?come sit and chat for awhile..newcomers always welcome!
Linda K, have you considered writing down a time line so it becomes more clear about the options and when all of these things need to take place? That might help with the decision making. If I understood what you wrote correctly, he could have heart surgery NOW, but will be put on blood thinners. While on blood thinners he can't do chemo.
HOWEVER, he can't start chemo until at least June, & that is IF his hemoglobin is high enough AND he is strong enough (PT necessary for that to happen).
Ben was on blood thinners for several years but he had a fall and it created a bleeder in his brain, twice. The first time was undetected. While being tested/ treated for the 2nd one, they detected the prior event, he had brain surgery. Afterwards, because of his brain bleed issues, his blood thinner was discontinued "forever".
Ben's choices were blood thinner to reduce the risks with his heart & create greater risks for repeated brain bleed. OR discontinue the blood thinner and reduce the risk for his bleeding but make it harder on his heart. Ultimately he chose to discontinue his blood thinner. Ben had quadruple heart bypass several years earlier and was beginning to develop the blockages again. Because of his bleeding issues they discontinued the thinners and he lived without the thinners for several more years.
Is there a chance that they could do the heart surgery, use the blood thinners, regain his strength & do PT etc. THEN discontinue the blood thinner and do chemo? Has this even been considered as an option? Or do they think the postponement of the chemo is simply too risky because of the timing & extensiveness of the cancer? Without heart surgery is it possible for him to regain the strength and raise the hemoglobin?
There never is an easy answer.
Worked on front deck, SG up, bought a rug this morning, set it out along with faux greenery plants, and now a blizzard has moved in, my fault for rushing spring I guess.
I too Pat kept a journal of everything going on, in the 3 weeks Roger got sick I almost wrote a book…kept me centered which was a good thing. Is Todd able to make the decisions? Roger was out of it so I was the one who had to take the lead, too much.
When is the court day Susan, glad you are out enjoying your evening
Karen, as with Lindakay, there are no words but plenty of prayers.
Walt must have gotten a chuckle when you mentioned he was in competition with you
I was to have a 6:15pm consultation
This morning at 9:30 doctors receptionist called and said Dr.Land wanted me to know he resent referral, said Dr.Jones had just moved so perhaps they last it.
I said no need for Dr land to call me back..
10 am the doctor calls, says “hi Bessie, what can I do for you?”
Nothing says I, already got the answer to my query re Doctor for my injections, so that is all you wanted then?”
‘Other than the pain in my chest which you said had to wait until the other hernia is operated on guess I’m ok’ says I..sooo no call needed tonight!
I’ve been to town 3 times, big sigh..todays project not going to well. Tried everywhere to buy pls, 2’length, nope everyone wants you to buy a 10’ piece for $45, puts Brian behind as he has to wait for Greg to drop it off.
Brian did put a new handle on the laundry/washroom door that has a lock, a 5’ shelf in laundry room then problems happened, he goes out every 1/2 hour or so, must be to curse.. To put ceiling up in the cutting room because of height it’s become project from hell. The woodworking/storage area worse as there are only the metal beams, said he would rather not do it.😪wondering if I can con him into it lol.
Marie and Bill Kinnear dropped in with 3 boxes of fabric, my kids will have lots of options when picking fabric. Bins are so heavy I decided to open them and semi pile them in types of fabric.
Wasn’t a thing out of place, now a disaster through entire house.. big big smile in the theme of things
Hi Betty and Everyone!!
Wowah, I have missed you all. Giving tight Armwraps.
Oh my gosh so much has happened since I lasted visited. To all of you and myself.
Please know that each of you have been in my thoughts and prayers over the time I have been away...Or I have kept tabs on the FB site.
As you know I don't post much on FB, my account has been hacked more than once so, I only keep it to play Junes Journey! lol..I am totally addicted to that and my Words with friends...
Oh gosh, I am still as wordy as ever hahaha.
Anyhow finally figured out how to get back connected to DG, lol kept changing my password then I would forget the the darned thing until I decided this was dumb and took the time to figure out my passwords on everything. lol took all morning but ohwah! here I am.
I was suppose to have Lily DGD over night but she wanted to go home, she had an earache. I had her the night before too. My daily schedule kind of changes quickly. lol nothing new there. Day started pretty chilly but the sun is out now, maybe Ill take a walk I can make it to end of the block!!
Linda Kay, I sure hope Todd is able to get his PT in...Thank God you can stay with your son, that extra help is such a wonderful relief. Took at least 2 of us to change MIL...Usually Laurie and myself . We had home nurse so when it was just me, I had a beach towel under the bed pad this way I could pull the towel to turn her. Try and use pillows to prop him up off the sore, have him turn often.
I'm going to post know so you all know Im home again.
winks and Arwmwraps my friends.
Betty - the trial is May 4th @ 9am, but they said to keep the entire day free because they don't know how long it will take. It's only been 1 1/2 years since he was arrested...... hope this gets settled this time.
Susan, May 4th will be here and gone before you know it, likely pretty cut and dry I would think, that being said 1 1/2 yrs a lot of time lawyers can ask for charges to be dropped as justice hasn’t been served re ‘timely fashion’.. know that is happening around here.
Looking for updates from Lindakay and Karen..also missing the others, Dianne you ok?
Deb, Sharon is just outside Syracuse for dog show.
Chatted with Debbie, she is home resting but if she ’s down to ER she goes.
Best of today has to be Judy posting and not getting a few more corners cleaned up, Worse, worrying along with all..hoping Todd and Walt start improving. Sending as Judy says, prayers and arm wraps.
Judy, Judy, Judy, what a thrill it was to open the thread and see your post!
It had been a long time, your life certainly was/is a rollercoaster, hope nothing but good health in your future.
How old is Lily..sure hope you can post some photo’s of the kids.,Lordy Judy, I’m a great grandma..yikes not good lol
You must have heard me this morning talk about you,Liz and Debbie, having ceilings done in those little rooms i had to take down everything on the shelves..look what I found, 2009 I think I marked on back of photo’s. The other day I was talking to Marie when we had a fire in the pit, I said I need Judy big time, ashes haven’t been cleaned out since you were here, again think 2009.
Now for Liz to join us
Will that make it easier for todd to get the medical care he needs? Just looked on the map that is a long way from where you are , You'll need all new Drs. I hope this will be a good move for you. Many hugs
Walt is better today. They said when I got there at 10 that he was being moved out of the surgical cardiac ICU to the Cardiac ICU. Which is a much easier walk for me. He will get physical therapy. But when I left at 7 they were still saying any time. I'm not complaining I will be a better place for him too so I'll see him there tomorrow. I went to bed earlier because I was tired, then I woke up at 5 so no sleep gain. Looks like our anniversary will also be a hospital celebration. He is still barely eating. He also orders too much because he thinks he has to. I told him today to only order what he actually wants. If you only want mashed potatoes, just order potatoes. Then he said what he wanted was for me to make braccoli. Steak pounded thin the eggd and breaded with italian bread crumbs an Romano cheese. I'll see how his appetite goes and maybe make it for our anniversary.
That sounds delicious Karen! Here's hoping that Walt's appetite will improve along with his strength & health. I am glad that you have an easier walk with the change of rooms.
Welcome back Judy! Nice to see you post again.
Susan, hopefully this nightmare will come to an end soon.
Betty.... a curse break huh? Well, better than a cigarette break! I hope you can get the job completed, if not by Brian, some other ambitious workman! Our homes come with all kinds of interesting challenges.
I asked a friend to help me move a few things in the garage. He & son stacked the loveseat on the couch, the dining room table straddled the bookcase headboard and they unloaded the dresser I bought. At least now I can walk thru the garage. the check engine light is on in my pickup and I need to schedule a mechanic. Always something!
Well I either have allergies or a cold. Mucus is green but I do not feel bad. Just a very low voice. I had a cough but used my prescription nose spray and that stopped the sinus drainage. They I started the search for my inhaler. I looked where I knew it should be but it was not there. Then went though about 5 different drawers and still could not find it. Then went back to the first drawer and after going through a few items I found it. I was looking for Red and it was Blue. Getting old is starting to show it's ugly head.
Karen, Walt just wants the cooking he has had all of these years. They probably have him on a low salt menu and that stuff tastes like cardboard.
Linda, I am so pleased you are moving in with your son. No if you and Todd can just get them on a rehab plan. It is very hard getting your strength back after you have lst it and PT at hospitals or care centers are for maybe 30 minutes a day. When Vern was in rehab, I discovered he was getting PT 30 minutes a day. So her was there for 24 hours and getting 30 minutes a day PT and going down hill fast. Right after his lunch, I just packed him up and took him home. It took the rehab center close to 6 hours to determine he was gone. He was so close to going into that deep tunnel of no return but I got him home just in time. Heart surgery is very hard on the body. But I would think after heart surgery, and a short recovery, he should be fine without blood thinners. Vern was on blood thinners forever and the last few years, they took him off of them. Said they were causing too many problems. So let's just all pray these medical people get their heads together and come up with a plan.
Susan, been a long wait. Hopefully Justice will show up that day.....
Pat, I have not made my arrangements but probably should. I do not plan on having a funeral. Vern didn't want one either. My sister and I went to make our mother's arrangements and boy we learned a lot so when I went in to make Vern's, I was a pro and they didn't know what hit them. My daughter went with me and said it was the most entertainment she'd had for a long time and she knew what to do, if and when she had to do so.
Judy, welcome back. You have been gone for a long time.
Betty, so pleased you have Judy back. You also sound like you might be feeling better. Wow, that is a lot of fabric. We all know for sure you will put it to good use.
Had rain again today. They said today Mammoth in California hit an all time high for snow reached. 698" (58.16') Lake Tahoe is suppose to be higher.
Hugs to you all..
welcome back, Judy Judy Judy!!! Gosh it has been a LONG time, eh?
I would love to come out & visit you too, Betty!
As to dropping the charges - each province is different, and as it's been on Bob's end that the trial hasn't happened, there is NO way the charges will be dropped That would happen only if I didn't testify and That's Not Going To Happen :) Unfortunately for Bob, I have a wonderful memory, especially about this situation. it's been burned into my brain. I wish it weren't so, but it is.
My friend Dianne just became a g-grandma (baby girl), and I have lots of baby quilt material, so I'm going to make her one. Just born yesterday, and no name as yet.
Good Morning, LOL Grab your coffee, -of course it will be a long Blab from me, giggle, giggle
It's cloudy and gloomy here...Suppose to rain, so I'll be dreaming of working in the garden. Ohhhh, I will be so excited to get out there and do something, anything! LOL, I have been cooped up in this house for over 3 years. Now that Gigi is gone, I haven't found my new purpose. I find myself not knowing where to begin. This old place needs some work before we carry on with plans for the future...
I have been in good practice to get rid of things...yep you read right, getting rid of things and decluttering, lol bet ya never thought I'd say those words...And I am getting really good at just tossing stuff without even a thought of what "could" be done with said object...
Well I have a had a very short rest between other stuff too., Ive been to Florida,, which I lovingly call Timbuktoo. Lol, Gigi hated when we went anywhere because she had to go to Nursing care. She would get soo mad and say when she's gone we could go to Timbuctoo for all she cared, lolol, now when Im asked about going anywhere its Timbuktoo!! It was a very very busy time.
On my way to Wisconsin probably this weekend, and at end of April up to the Rez...
I have a Doc appt on the 19th and hopefully I'll be good to go for another 4 months.
Because I am on blood thinners, I have to get doppler checks of my arteries. I had stents. They definaley help but my body is having a rough time with the scarring..Last year I had 6 surgeries...Doc K said I am a special case becuase of the premature scarring, usually its years before "rodding" But so far so good now. I have regular exercise routine, and I bought a bike!. OMG, I blew up like a balloon!! I am slowly losing the weight but its going to be a bit longer. But my big hope is to get my wedding rings back on by our Anniversary.
Hey Karen, Happy belated birthday to Walt. I hope his recovery is fast.
Um, so i am confused, So are you moving again back to Michigan?
Oh Betty, my gosh I cant believe Our Twins are 8? Wow, I am so happy for them.
How exciting about your Great Grandson, wow already 1 and how adorable is he!
My Grands are Lily-5 and Evelyn 4. Lily is in Kindergarten and Evie in pre-school.
See if I can add these pics... then i will post and come back later to blab on some more!!
You Probably need a coffee refill. hahaha.
Well, I have to go on my phone for pics, I cant figure this out right now on the laptop.
Anyhow have a great day!
P.S. Glad to see Debbie was home, hope her recovery is quick too.
My
Good morning everyone.
We got home at 11 last night and crashed. Todd has been up and is now back in bed taking a nap. He gets out of breath easily.
Yes, Amarillo is 8 hours from us, but bring with my son for help will be a godsend. As soon as we get there, he will start physical therapy.
I need to start sorting and packing things. Need to go find a bunch of boxes.
Thank you all for your prayers.
This is what we went through last week.
This is a bit long but here goes.
Last week wed. Todd had to go to San Antonio to see a diabetic specialist because his sugar has been out of control for years.found out his pancreas is not working so they put him on an insulin pump. No more pills for sugar. That same afternoon he had a CT scan and an MRI if his abdomen to see why he was swelling up and hurting.
Thursday afternoon doctor called to say images showed a 8 inch tumor in his liver, and it's cancer. He has other small groths in his kidney, and cyst on his spleen and pancreas. Possibly cancer too.
Thursday afternoon he was in and out of cold sweats due to his sugar dropping too low, even though he only had 1 dose of insulin at lunch.
Friday morning I got up at 6, and Todd was in a coma. Soaking wet. Non responsive. Got him to the hospital and they brought him back. Found out he also had a heart attack. Most of his heart valves are 70 to 95 % blocked. So we have been in the hospital since Friday.
All doctors involved got together, and told us he is in bad shape. Liver cancer is aggressively growing. He can have stints to repair his heart and will be on blood thinners the rest of his life. Or he can choose to avoided heart stints, and choose chemo. But because he has been bed Ridden for several months, he is very weak.. Doctors told us we can go home to start doing therapy. But not to our home because I am not capable of talking care of him if he falls. So it's to a nursing facility for therapy or to a family member home for help.. we chose to move to Amarillo with my oldest son for help.
We were told Todd has till the end of June to get strong enough to walk and do things on his own, to get chemo or it will be too late.
We will be moving with in the week.
So I am asking for lots of thoughts and prayers please. We will need all we can get.
Thank you very much.
Was going to say good morning but by the time I type my post likely it will be afternoon… gray sky but then sun comes out and says ‘hi’.
Likely Karen it’s the love that goes into your meals..would you be able to bring in eats for Walt? Maybe not if he is on a special meal plan but what to heck, you could smuggle some in.
Lindakay, you are not moving i.e. selling your home and making the move?? Is moving in with your son just until Todd gets back on his feet? So overwhelming for you both, decisions you have to make I’m sure will be the right one.
Susan, everyone is welcome to visit, wish you all could. I’ve had the privilege in meeting everyone except you and Pat..perhaps one day. Glad your recall is as good as it is, will come in handy!
Amen Sharon on the getting old..you have semi got lucky on not catching that severe bug that is jumping from house to house. Glad you have meds you can use to help.Lordy bet the resorts are happy. The entire weather system has changed don’t you think..maybe they should take all that equip they’ve sent up there back, must be doing something wrong.. any news on the condo repairs, must be well over a year right? And yes to feeling better, I’m eating well, just have to mash everything and even at that I sit for an hour after eating, take rolaids and eventually I feel better, but pain which I need injections is still the same.
Seeing the sun, having more visitors, doing inside gardening has given me a boost.
Judy you have me laughing, we used to say we were off the Timbuktu as well.
It will take you quite awhile to adjust after having to having all this freedom after caring for Gigi.
You always like to go to Michigan, will be a welcome adventure. Are you still renting out the cottage?
I will tell Debbie you send your regards, her #’s are better this morning, she was off to the doctors to have a look and change dressings.
Look at that little Angel, just too cute. You must be thrilled having them to visit, do the girls live in the area?
Just had lunch, best get back to my cleaning and finding a place for fabric that is left upstairs. i should start a painting class this summer seeing I’ve found so many wooden pieces needing to be painted..what a waste.
I am still 8n my nightie, work better being comfy, will wait until I hear if Phoebe is coming for 4:30 sewing lesson before getting dressed.
So glad I have my 8’ counter top back now that nearly all the tiling has been done, that room has been cleaned, now on the the family room and sewing room.
Oh my gosh, LindaKay. So much to process all at once. Prayers continue to be sent.
We will not sell the house yet. Praying treatments work and we can come back home.
I will have to go check where about you are going..when will this move take place??
Uhaul truck. Will be here Monday, we will leave Wednesday
LK holding you and Todd close to my heart. That is an awful lot of info and decisions to make all at once.
Sunny day here but cold. Snow on the way so the Weather Liars say.
Judy it is so good to see you pop in.
Deb any shows in the near future?
Betty was your day sunny too?
Karen is there anyway you can bring something to eat that Walt fancies ? I know 1 time when I was a kid I was in the hospital in isolation and nothing on the menu appealed to me. When I was asked what I would eat I said 'a cucumber sandwich'. My dad brought me a cucumber sandwich the next day and I gobbled it down. Sure hope you can get something for your DH to eat.
I've been cleared to walk just not too far at once. This afternoon I walked Chaos a piece up the lane to meet Zeke and Jen. It sure felt good!
Betty have you heard how Debbie is doing today ? Sure hope the surgery went well.
Stay safe and well.
Seeing as you will be with your son Lindakay what can you bring that warrants haul??
From experience you want to do so much but hands are tied, you just move In the direction they lead you, 471 miles is a long way from home…there are no words, so want a miracle for Todd..perhaps the move will give you some much deserved rest.
Sunny here this afternoon Dianne, so glad to see you post, was worried..glad you can get out as long as you don’t overdo…what is it the doctor said it was??
Looks like a lot of rain in our forecast, but week of Easter think a couple days of 60°F, won’t that be nice. Has all the ice left the bay yet? Debbie was really hurting this morning, Paul was driving her to change the dressing, i am sure with all the probing she will be on pain killers and hurting tonight.
Drats, just after my last post Cathy came for a visit, I should have learned, i was cleaning laundry room so I said I’d be right up..that was a bid mistake, she just left after 3-4 hints.. “Lordy I hate seeing that mess at front door” etc. finally she said she didn’t know what she would have for supper, i jumped up and filled a bowl with stew, she was putting on her coat when I said I was off to find a home for the fabric, think i was working the chairlift before she was out the door. So between Marie’s visit and Cathy’s I got very little done. Big sigh
Guess tomorrow is another day.
We will be bringing our bedroom furniture, TV. Personal items, clothes. My sewing machine. Everything else will be put in storage.
Is it safe in your area to leave a house unattended?
Another day of rain here. So weird. My bags of soil are still in their designated areas so I could spread the soil on the mulched leaves in the back. Rained everyday and cold. Cold for us anyway. High today was 51. That is close to winter for us.
Linda, so sorry you have to make the move, but I think it is for the best. At least you should be able to get all of the care Todd needs and some family support goes a long way. Those are a lot of facts that were thrown at both of you in a short time. I know we are all praying for both of you and some healing help for Todd.
Diane, so pleased to see you can walk a little bit. As Betty said, what did the doctor figure out.
Betty I do not understand why you have to mash your food. A hernia should not cause that kind of pain. You were so kind to give her some of your Stew.
Susan, I am sure you can remember every awful moment. Hopefully after the trial, you can forget.
Karen, hospital food is for the pits. Walt will eat better if it is your cooking. Maybe some biscuits and jam, if that is his thing. Something like that. Vern would tell me that the clock in the hospital room never moved. He wished they would take away the clock.
Judy, you were missed so again, welcome back. Betty will have to tell us all about you.
Judy, we moved back to Michigan. Good thing we did with all that is happening now.
Walt is doing a bit better. He had a shower and change of dressings and I'm sure that helped him feel ever so much better. He is also in his new room which I love as it cut about three miles off my walk. There is a nice sitting area for guests, a restroom right handy.Once again he has wonderful nurses, Seems that entire hospital is filled with them. Also he is at the top place for heart care. They asked today if he would consider staying a bit longer to have in house therapy. Much as we want him home, It's more important for him to come home strong. Getting his therapy there several times a day would be more effective then us having to run out once a day. I would much rather get him strong than to chance a fall here. He will have the therapy 4+ times a day.
He can have pretty much anything He wants to eat. He was thinking he had to order a whole meal. I told him just order what you want. If it's just potatoes, that's all you order. Today Laura and I went to a favorite Coney place. Brought him back a childs size shake. He really enjoyed a good bit of it. He thought it too rich so I mixed in some milk to cut it a bit.We will be celebrating our anniversary on Sunday in the hospital. He made a meal request so I will bring it to him.
He wants me there the entire day so not making any progress on quilts. Good thing no big rush. I just sit with him and hold his hand, That's my most important thing right now.
I have neighbors that will watch the house. They all have security cameras too.
So much to happen so fast Linda K. I am grateful you have supportive family. Continued prayers for you both.
Karen, you are so right, sitting with Walt is the most the important thing.
Betty, friends & family can sure mess up the schedule but thank goodness for their visits!
Bet the sandman is visiting somewhere with you all
I'm still here, and have been quilting :) I found a backing in my stash, for the "scattered leaves" quilt I'm making for late summer/fall raffle.
Wow Judy - lots went on & is going on in your life!
LK - glad you're getting family's help. Quick move, to be sure! Hopefully it's short term and Todd & you can get home with him stronger.
Betty - sorry that you didn't have a more productive day. The stew was to give to Cathy for her supper? Visits are nice, but not when they're overdone!
Rainy Saturday morning but the sun is trying it’s best o come out, 36°F
Checking up on all, praying that today will be a better day ..know there are a few miracles left for the taking so “Lord in prayer please find one for my friends!”
I have classes from 11-3 today, normally the boys come 9-11 but are putting in time for their donating hours as required by high school system so luckily they get to do them at the maple syrup farm.
Susan, I had made the stew for Brian and I but of course made enough to feed an army so when Cathy mentioned it gave me an out..i told her no need for her to cook I would give her a full container of stew for her supper, handed it to her and said I best get finding a home for all this material…her cue to leave, my bad! Amazing Susan what we find in our staff.
Deb, Sharon did well with Kunik at the show, Sage not so much, she had today for more competition then home tomorrow. Next m9nth St Louis then the big Westminster show..it’s giving her something to do and look forward since Inuk passed.
Judy, hope you made it to the cottage, is Steve able to take time to spend the week and maybe celebrate Easter there.
Sharon, are you feeling better?
Karen, did Walt get to have his special meal?
Liz, is the weather back to being the sunshine state spring temps.
Can’t imagine all you will have to do with the move and caring for Todd. Hope family and friends are helping..will be a long trip for Todd won’t it. Exhausted as you are Lindakay take mega breaks along the way.
Dianne, did you get the storm we had yesterday? Snow/ice/rain turned into mega slush, i went to town but it wasn’t nice driving.
Bought more potting soil and seeds of course, over 100 containers planted and likely same to plant.
sun is beaming through the window and am finding my eyes getting heavier with each key I type.
Betty, special meal will be Sunday on our anniversary.
Enjoy your special day with Walt.
Yes, this move will be hard on all of us. But we will manage somehow.
prayers for you & Todd, LK - try to de-stress somehow. I know that's easy to say, and difficult to do, but find it somewhere.
I brought home another budgie - a friend for Pixie. His name is Dixie (name suggested by my DSIL because he feels he "sponsored" him with birthday $$ lol).
I have him in a smaller cage in the same room as Pixie. They chatter at each other, mimic each other in climbing the wall of their cages. It's cute. I think it's going to be an easy transition, but I will have to keep them separated for 1 to 2 weeks to get them used to each other. Here's a pic of Dixie. He's green, to Pixie's blue.
I'm quilting the newest lap quilt. The blocks are called "Scattered Leaves". It's a BOM that I got in 2009/2010. About time I got it done & out of the house lol
I think I have allergies. My inhaler and prescription nose spray are keeping it at bay. I worked in the garden yesterday about 6 hours and today by myself about 3.5. Yesterday I got real tired and today I had fun. I was by myself today and it was so much fun. My garden helper is 70 and a half cup empty type of guy. I got so tired about him complaining about everything in the world, I just went in the garage and sat in my chair. He asked me if I was OK and I told him "I AM Done". We postponed moving the plumerias out because of cold weather and big time wind coming tomorrow night thru Tuesday.
I got on here so late, you will all be reading this in the morning. I will check in, in the morning. We need to get cell numbers, so we can have zoom sessions or face times.
Hugs until tomorrow morning, which will be afternoon for you.
good company/ bad company makes all the difference in the world!
Susan, looking forward to seeing your Block of the Month come together.
Walmart had a BUNCH of fabric clearanced at $1 per yard and the Pioneer Woman fabric deeply discounted. A cart full came home with Marie & I.
I did my first minky quilt top today, it turned out ok. I still need to bind it. Marie found the top at a thrift store and wanted to rescue & complete it. I'm going to get a Microfiber sheet ready to try for a backing. THEN I will try a fleece backing on another small quilt top.
Beautiful bird Susan.
Sharon, I hope you are feeling better soon. It's allergy season all over, and so many are getting hit hard.
Pat, sounds like you got a great bargain on fabric.
It's chaotic here, starting to get things packed. So far I have my sewing room packed. 36 totes of fabric and supplies. I founds 5 packages of batting I didn't know I had. 8 rotary cutters. When I misplace them I go buy another one.
Found the problem with my taxes. No fraud, no identity theft. The young man who prepared them put figures in the wrong places. We should have been more vigilent. We were shown and asked if correct only the places that pertained to our identity. After he finished our taxes, another person went over and approved everything. I really don't trust them todo a correction but don't know what to do now. Really don't need this right now. That's another complecation, Walt needs to be present to sign and show his identity.
Morning all, sun is out but the wind is just a howling. So no outdoor work for me. Kyle has ordered the tire/rube I need for the wagon that attached to my riding lawnmower, will make it much easier.
Happy Anniversary Karen to you and Walt..how many years? Hope i got the date right. just what you didn’t need p, going through all the tax hoops to find out professionals screwed it up.because they had all I.d. Fro r the first lot of paperwork could they not sent it by email for Walt to sign and you can send it back to them..their error!
Wow Lindakay looks as though you will have enough sewing supplies to keep you busy for a few years. Does Joe’s house have enough space to have you/Todd and your bedroom outfit in his home. Do you like Amaryllis(?) always prayers and thought coming your way.
Judy, don’t you be doing yard duty up at the cottage if you are there..no overdoing it.
Do the grands often go up with you?
Susan I enjoy the budgies, always had them when I was young, my last one died when our home burnt down..i remember the night so clear even though it’s so long ago, grandpa carved me a witch out of tree branch that night, i always said it was the witch who started the fire. They are good company and not too expensive to keep, all else needs vet bills and they are costly. Did you already ha=e the cages? Can’t wait to see your quilt finished, i have similar pattern with fabrics and never got to it, like you plenty of debate projects.
Chuckling here, the fabric just had to come home with you..you 2 will never manage to sew all you have put away.
Slow motion here, hip/leg giving me problems, ends of fingers are pins and needles so best i get up in hopes it helps.
Brian had said that he would be back yesterday to finish of the corner of the computer room but didn’t, said if not Saturday maybe Sunday, no go so far so guess I’ll be putting all the metal tracking away.
My tiered lit flower grower is pretty full, top tier I think I planted last weekend has quite a lot of growth but most I guess take longer to start up. Next time I am downstairs will take a photo, I’ve no idea what I am suppose to be doing but hope I end up with some plants for garden and planters..i do see one kind of geranium break top of soil.
Sure hope your day has a tad of sunshine in it
Oh Betty, you warning Judy to "not overdo" cracks me up!!! That would be like me telling ANYONE to "use up the fabric you have before buying more!!" I am sorry Brian hasn't got the job done so you can clean up and put that project to rest.
Karen & Walt, happy anniversary! I can understand your reluctance to having the professional who made the mistake file the correction, but when you paid to have them DO the taxes, I am sure there was a guarantee they would FIX any problem. In many cases, if there is a penalty, THEY are obligated to pay it. That differs from company to company. Do you have Durable Power of Attorney? If so, you can sign for Walt. If you don't have it, you might consider having that completed while you are in the hospital. Most hospitals have a notary, the paperwork can be downloaded for free. Let me know if you need the links etc.
Linda K, I think many of us would "find" things we didn't know we had!! I can relate to 9 rotary cutters. I have reduced my number dramatically as I finally found one style I REALLY like. I got rid of the rest.
Happy Anniversary Walt and Karen.
Sunny here but it is cold and windy. I have lots to do outside but the wind off of the lake is just too strong.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers to LK and Todd.
Pat last night the PBS in your neck of the woods had an Elvis Presley special. When I was younger I was a Doors, Stones and Joplin fan so never really paid much attention to him. He really did have a lovely voice. I had seen it before but if there is music I am there.
I am tired today and I don't know why. Tired enough to have a nap. Zeke looks so comfortable laying on the bed with the sun hitting his head.
Stay safe and well.
What they don't have room for I will get a storage unit.
Happy anniversary Karen and Walt.
