Going thru same and no fun at all..
Having something to eat then bed I go
24 young ones today..last class will be Sunday..16 kids
Love doing these workshops but must say the tire me out.
Few kids escape before group photo
Best, Worse & what did I learn today?come sit and chat for awhile..newcomers always welcome!
That's a lot of kids. Don't think I could it it alone.
Betty, those kids looks so happy!!! Let's pray you get your injections arranged soon.
Dianne sorry to hear about the fall, that sucks.
Karen, hurry up and wait, that certainly describes today's medical issues.
Linda, I could not do it alone either. Heck I couldn't do it with ADULTS let alone kids!
Sharon, glad you are getting the rain.
Susan, are you using the kid pictures for a matching game??
They are going to cut off Phil's broken femur & replace the artificial knee as well, that means securing the artificial knee WAY up the leg. He is in a tremendous amount of pain.
I bought a drop leaf table, some dining room chairs yesterday and today a bookcase headboard. I have an appointment to look at dressers tomorrow but may have to cancel it due to Phil's surgery tomorrow. I can't walk thru the garage now. It will be fun moving stuff to make room for the dressers! My garage is very secure and dry.The dressers are the last of the furniture until I get moved. Closing date somewhere between 4.15 and 5.1.
When it's closer to moving date, I will be looking to buy a washing machine for Adam & Andrea. Marie saved her dryer for them.
I've told my family to not plan any "shopping interventions" until 30 days after I get moved back into my whole house. There will still be a LOT of things I need to replace, towels, bath rugs, kitchen towels and more.
Beautiful furniture. Looks nice and sturdy.
Morning, it’s a rainy gloomy day here, decided it would be a perfect day to do nothing.
Gee, even as i am typing i am dozing off.
Pat,sorry to hear about Phil needing an operation, will he be spending time in hospital if so that would give Marie some time to recoup.
Great finds
Be back in a bit
Well....Surprise, Surprise. Walt's surgery got changed once again
Now scheduled for the 24th. No chance for him to be back home for his birthday.
Said Dr had an emergency..Hmmmm maybe needed the beach.
Pat - yes, matching game. Nice yellow pine furniture.
Glad Phil's getting help, but sorry he's in a lot of pain. It will give Marie some time to rest while he's in the hospital
I'll post more later - tired, but still a busy day today, and tomorrow.
Yes, I am hoping that it gives some Marie some relief, so far, not so much! Between the hospital and rehab, I hope she has a month or more.
Drizzly, gray here. We just got back from a short walk. It was the longest I had done in awhile though. Zeke and Chaos high tailed it home when the snow plow came in. Dave was plowing out a cottager. Personally I would have my personal driveway plowed all winter but that's me. Your house insurance doesn't cover you if you don't have winter access to your place. I think they don't want to be bothered paying for the plow but sure enjoy driving down the lane on winter days "just to check". Those of us who live here full time finally said if the plow comes in and you drive down within the next 2 days of the plow you have to pay. Not fair to Dave or the rest of us full timers.
Karen I am so disappointed about Walt's postponement. One time when I was in for knee surgery I was in my stylish hospital gown next in line for surgery. I was sent home !!! Both Warren and I were furious. He had arranged to take off a few days from work to help me out plus arrangements were made for someone to walk the dogs. That was when Warren was still working in TO Mon - Fri.
Oh Pat I know you are keeping your excitement in check but I can feel it coming through in your posts. Imagine you and Stanley having all that space !! Sending positive thoughts and prayers for Marie and Phil. I can't imagine the pain and trauma of Phil's fall. Once when I was having my knee replaced the gal in the next room having the same surgery was dropped being transferred into her bed.
Betty you will be glad to see the end of the classes. Not that you don't enjoy them but it is hard on you physically.
Happy ST. Patrick's Day !! If Warren was alive we would be having a boiled dinner - corned beef, cabbage, spuds, carrots and onions.
Stay safe and well everyone. Do something to treat yourself today.
How maddening Karen to have surgery postponed, you are anxious enough and worried for the date given and now worry more.. how are you feeling?
Susan, not a wonder you are tired..
Meant to mention as with many of us Deb did not get reminder that it was time to renew her subscription but all ok now, she should be back on with a post shortly.
Dianne, if you were well enough you should make the boiled corn beef dinner for yourself. When we lived on the lake the road (laneway) was similar, there was a full time resident at the end and 3 cottagers before them, they refused to pay for the plowing, sure made for hard feeling…they came up on special holidays but still no $$.
When is your next appointment after having to cancel your last. Muddy weather for the dogs, more work for you.
So quiet here, thought maybe I would go sew a little project but am worried i will aggravate my neck problems seeing I can’t get the regular injections seeing as my doctor is not making $$$ to make it worthwhile. Bif sigh
Sharon has to go to Barrie for tests Re her tremors, think I may go with her so i can go to fabricland and get fabric for drapes and perhaps outdoor fabric for pillows that will match the outdoor rug I want to pick up this week for front deck.
So getting anxious to start garden work..
Karen, I am so sorry about the postponement. It is so anxious-making!
oh ouch, Dianne - being dropped just after a knee replacement? OUCH!
When I had one of my knees replaced and was taken for my maiden walk to the bathroom I told the nurse that there was water on the floor. She said "Housekeeping will take care of that" then left. Guess who fell on the water puddle? I was lucky to fall in such a way that I didn't hit the shower stall, pedastal of the sink nor the toilet (you know how tiny hospital bathrooms are!). Another nurse heard me fall (Whooooomp!) and it took 3 to get me up on a footstool, then upright.
I got my quilt walking foot today! There's an instructional paper with it, but What is the bar with it for? Not attatched, and nothing saying what to do with it.
I put a temporary St. Patrick's Day tattoo on yesterday, for the meeting. There was only 11 of us, but we had fun.
Sorry to hear that surgery was delayed Karen. It happens too often.
Susan, that bar id for a seam guide. It attaches at the back of the walking foot, and it moves to any width you need, if you are quilting and want a straight line. No need for marking, other than your first line. Here is a video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3StM2uPWrZA
wow, Thank You, Linda Kay!! I now understand how to use it and I'm thrilled to get it before my quilting class tomorrow! After watching this video, I saw another one for Man Sewing. I watched him making a Thread Catcher & it was quite good, so I watched his video on the walking foot too (not just for quilting!)
I will play around with it (at Betty's suggestion), now that I know how to install & use it. I knew this was the right place to ask :)
Made it back! Only gone a few days, but, didn't realize it was time to renew, I was in the middle of reading a post, went to click on a photo and poof! it all disappeared! It took a while to figure out my subscription ran out.
So sorry to hear Walt's surgery has been postponed. That has to be a huge worry for you.
It looks like everyone did great in your classes, Betty!
Great furniture finds, Pat! I bet you're so anxious to have your house back!
Linda kay is good about finding the resources for education!
Welcome back Debbie. Maybe I should be checking my subscription before I can't figure out why I can't see my threads! And YES, very eager to get my house back.
Susan, fun tattoo.
Welcome back Deb.
Susan, glad that video helped. I use my walking foot almost all the time.
Evening, yes I leave waking foot on one of the machine as well.
Darlene called this morning to say they cancelled supper tonight because of the storm as some were coming from out of town.
Went to town as the storm had stopped, I especially wet to see if Norm’s Garden has that metal layer out cat, glad they had one, found curtains still not sure i wanted white curtains, we will se.
WHERE IN THE WORLD. are people getting money to buy couch sets for 4K-10k
Pictures, looking for one for ones my bed, who would spend $500-$1,000 for Walmart quality picture..Lordy, lordy unbelievable.
Betty, some people have more money than sense! LOL That said, I guess if they have the money and that is WHAT they want to spend it on....
We guys, it has been a busy weekend. Friday I spent the majority of the morning chasing a sewer smell in my laundry room. My garden helper was here and he is also a good handyman. It was cold, so we decided to work in the house until it warmed up. Got on Google and it said smell was coming from drain not flowing well. So he pulled out the washer, put baking soda and vinegar down the drain and 20 minutes later, filled with boiling water. Also cleaned out drain on the front part of the washer and then put the same formula i the washer and put it on tub clean. Smell is gone. After that he gave Emma, my schnauzer, a bath. Then we had a cup of coffee and then it was warm enough for us to hit outside. Rest of the day was in the font landscape still getting mulched leaves covered with soil, lightly. So it has to be done by hand.
Today I attended a birthday party for a young 2 year old boy that lives down the street, two blocks. He knows Emma and I from the tot lot park which is right behind my home with only a wrought iron fence. He wanted Peanut the cat to come also but I was not taking the cat. That is why we were invited.
Pat, I am holding my breath fo you to have their escrow close.
Susan, I like your tattoo. You look good. You have lost some weight.
Diane, some people are just jerks and can afford the item, but just like to avoid whatever they should pay as "Principle". When do you get to see your doctor on your knee.
Karen, I am so sorry they moved Walt's surgery date. If they only knew all you have to do to get ready for that. Maybe they do not care.
Betty, those children are so blessed to have some one of your expertise to teach them and care about their finished product.
Well I am not done but got on here late and it is time for us to go to bed. I will check in tomorrow.
Thank you, Dianne - yes, I have lost 40 lbs. Of course this week, since my birthday, I've been eating more so I think I gained a couple back lol I've been doing "dirty keto" until now, but with birthday cake & ice cream, and bread products more than is good for me this week, well...........
I'm going back on my diet. I don't cut out carbs entirely (that's nonsense to cut out any one food group. You need moderation in everything, to be healthy) but I eat a LOT less, and more veggies & fruit, and meat. I'd like to lose another 20 lbs at least.
Tonight I was asked about going to the Fish & Game dinner - someone thought I'd asked for tickets, but I didn't think I knew about the dinner. I went anyway. I'd just became a member because I like going fishing. I even won a door prize - a Stadium blanket & baseball cap.
Sharon, when did you ever know a Dr. to do something at your convenience? We are always at their mercy.
Just me grousing again. I know they have many patients and they all are needy.
Sharon, glad to hear you got your sewer/ plumbing problems fixed! When I had a nasty smell in the bathroom it was corrosion of the exhaust pipe (you know, the one that comes out your roof to vent). We were able to cut open the wall, cut the pipe, drop a new one in from the roof & attach it.
Sunny but a very windy, cold day out there. I see there is a lot of debris along the shoreline. All stuff left by the people who ice fish.
Pat again last night I was able to enjoy the PBS west for a couple of music. I had heard the 2 specials but it was music so I was there. Elvis and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band were featured. I'm not sure if originates in Seattle or Spokane.
Sharon I go to get x-rays tomorrow then it is wait, wait, wait until I hear back.
What's everybody up to this week ?
Dianne, the litter is so discouraging and disrespectful.
I sat with friend today at church, our sacrament service ended and we were heading off to classes when she started to go down. I called for help and we got her to a sofa in the foyer. I took her home. Another friend delivered her car to the house. I have talked to her daughter (who she lives with), and I hope they follow up AGAIN with the MD on Monday. I asked Judy all the questions I could screen for, blood pressure, glucose etc. guess we'll see.
Pat, thank goodness you were there. Two older neighbors have gone to the ER by ambulance and both were dehydrated.
Going to my daughter's tonight for our Sunday dinner. It has been raining all day since 11am. Where both my brothers live, in the mountains of Nevada, they are getting snow. My sister in California is getting rain. Big time rain coming Tuesday. on Friday I laid down two bags of chicken manure. So, perfect time for the rain. Tomorrow would be perfect to lay down some more but I have a manicure and pedicure tomorrow because appointment last week got cancelled because manicurist had Covid.
Dianne, hopefully your x-ray will go well and show the problem.
Susan, I always loved fishing. And I find fresh trout amazing. So proud of you keeping yourself in the loop and meeting people and starting new adventures.
So where is Betty today? Monday is Spring but it is going to b a little late in my area this year.
I had a very productive day today. For those who don't know, we've been having a lot of snow this year, and going from my front door to the back yard shed wasn't do-able for me. Snow up to my knees. So, Christmas decor & tree were down, but scattered all over my home. Tried to make it unobtrusive........ lol Anyway, I'd had asked a friend about her son helping me (for pay of course) and today she dropped off her 15 yo to help. He cleared a path for himself & hauled all the storage boxes out. I filled them & he hauled them back out again. Then he shovelled my driveway. All in an hour, for $20. I call that a bargain & a blessing! Now that my place is cleared, I Cleaned House! Even artificial trees shed lol tinsel & "needles" all over the place when I packed the tree, of course.
I'm starting on a whole cloth quilt. Well, mostly whole cloth. I'm putting borders on a "medallion" centre. I want to use the large quilt template I have. There'll be enough size in the medallion to do 4 of these quilt panels. It's 16" square.
I would love to see your Medallion quilt Susan. I am ALWAYS looking for more ideas for the borders etc for these panels. They have been a lifesaver as we have worked to learn the longarm.
$20 is a GREAT bargain. I do hope the 15 YO is available on a regular basis for those times when you need to hire a little help. I know sometimes it's hard to come up with the money to hire the help we need, but sometimes we just don't have a choice. Teenagers have NO idea what the difference a little help can make. I feel so blessed to have my sweet neighbor boys available for hire. Gab frequently refuses all pay.
right now my medallion quilt is a concept. I have the backing, and know what the center will be. I have ideas on the borders but that's it.
When I thanked Wyatt for his work, I said I'd be calling him again, and he said "I look forward to it". Sweet boy. Thinking about it, I think he's 16, but not sure.
Off to Monday am Coffeetime. Chat later

Afternoon, busy busy weekend, sun has been shining this morning but calling for a tad of snow later and tomorrow.
Read all your posts
Started to reply but i cannot keep eyes open so going to nap, 2 young ones come at 3:30, 2 hrs to nap
Hoping to gab later
I went to Marie's and did laundry, did a little picking up and putting up while she was gone. She thinks they are looking at Phil discharging from the hospital tomorrow. We have various skilled facilities local; I hope they can find rehab in one of the good ones!
I went to the grocery store today. First time in a long time. Prices are still up but majority of the shelves have stock on them. I was going to stop by Home Depot to look at their tomato plants after my manicure and pedicure and the grocery store but I was just too tired. I have a hair appointment Thursday, so I will go Thursday. Bed is already for the plants, so planting will be easy. It rained the majority of yesterday. Just a slow light rain. Suppose to rain tomorrow. Mountains are getting snow.
I came home and made some minestrone soup and then cut up a cooked chicken and made fajitas. That is why I went to the market. I needed peppers for the fajitas and the were $1.29 a piece for the orange and red. so I got two and then 2 green peppers for .79 a piece. Then two pounds of beef $8.50 and two cans of beans $1.00 per can and one large crushed tomatoes $1.69, beef stock $1.59. I used to make minestrone soup because it was cheap. No cheap any more. I need to freeze some of it.
I know, I spend a fortune for flowers but food is not a necessity in my book.
Betty, hope you got a nice nap.
Dianne, how was your x ray.
LOL, I think you are in good company Sharon! I think there are several of us here that keep to a budget but maybe "falter a little" on reining in the plant expenditures! (and fabric!!!)
I order my groceries and have them delivered, I have an order coming in a few minutes. They have notified me that SEVERAL of the things I ordered are not available with no substitutes available. Not happy, not had this many products messed up before. Maybe because it's late (9 PM delivery) that so many things are not available.
Hit the jackpot at the auction. They had a big box of stuff. They don't go through it so you mostly bid blind. I seldom do because you get so much that you don't want and have to deal with. I did see a Spirograph and Sorry game so for the heck of it I bid $5. Well nobody else bid. When I got to go through it there was also Scrabble, Backgammon, Travel Bingo, Jacks, Pick up sticks, and decks of cards, plus a brand new soccer ball. All the games are like new all accessories intact I like to keep some things here for the kids to play with and I am all set now..Also was a bag of shells and a bag of rocks for our young geologist. A pair of Wrangler jeans and two very nice crystal dishes to add to my collection. Now...why I am telling you all this. Also found some beautiful Brocade Oriental patterned fabric. The bottom piece on the left is over 4 yards. the other two are just over a yard each. Thats by guestimation I didn't measure. I know i will never do anything with it. SO if any of you are adventureous, It's yours. Otherwise I will offer it on line locally. Just let me know. I'll wait a couple days and then offer it out.
You really did hit the jackpot, Karen!! And, that fabric is beautiful! I'm sure someone could make something lovely with that fabric.
Karen you did very well with your box of goodies. That fabric would make some beautiful purses or tote bags.
it would make beautiful ANYTHING!!! Like you though, that is probably not one that I would end up making into something. I have so much fabric now, I can't "sew thru it all".
I am headed to a resort the end of April. My oldest son Dana & wife Carrie invited me. They had another couple going that backed out so I get to fill in. I am very excited about it. Looked thru my drawer and tried on bathing suits. There is a pool and hot tub there. I am taking my sewing machine too LOL. They are not surprised.
Good morning everyone, sunshine til 2 then rain, washing the snow away and
that is what we need.
Ohhh Pat where is the resort, you will love getting away, enjoying the pool and just doing what you want to do. Will it be after the move? As for online grocery order I have not tried it but like you Linda who orders hers eats has been finding more and more things aren’t available.
Sharon do I remember you pre start plants inside?
Sharon, said same thing to cashier the other day, i could have gone and got best soup made made at restaurants 1/4 price.
That was quite the purchase Karen, not all boxes turn out with things so valuable.
For a girl that said she was doing nothing today but lay on couch had her plans changed.
Darlene and John gave me US money and a gift that needed to be delivered,,she called tomorrow as if iI knew where I wanted it?? So downstairs I went and moved the 4’x 6’ cupboard so the plant grow unit has a permanent place.4 layers with lighting covering each tray..sure is giving me mega light in the laundry room.
Let’s hope I enjoy playing with this unit..now to buy earth and seeds
Difficult taking photo of it.
Falling asleep on you
Oh Pat lucky you, have a wonderful time. I'm sure it's just what you need.
Linda, enjoy the fabric. I'm so glad you want it.
Betty I don't play as often as my daughter. He had a good looking string of pearl a couple weeks ago. Nice clasp and knotted between, always a good sign. Becky paid $40. for them. She brought them over last night. Yep real 20 Inches. Worth about $600, maybe more. Had she not bought them I would have but we don't bid on each others. She's pretty good at spotting bargains.
Wow that is quite the treasure, will she keep it for herself? Are these weekly bidding?
We have similar here I believe, i will have to ask Joanne..you have to watch your bid going up on tv..think it would be addictive.
