Thank Karen

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the new room Betty.
Hard too believe he is 1 already.
Sorry to hear you can't get the meds you need.
All utilities have gone up in prices. This winter is supposed to be very pricey for heating homes. Electric, gas, oil, wood.
Todd still doesn't leave the house unless it's for the doctor. He is still losing weight. Don't know why. He eats anything he wants.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My favorite Bday pic of Grayson is Kyle feeding Grayson the ice cream, that is SOOO cute!! LOL I am so sorry that getting the medication to control your pain has been so difficult.

Susan, yep, that sounds delicious! I am happy to hear your dump run got done.

Sharon, THAT is a whooper of a utility bill.

I am eager for cooler weather, there is a LOT of cleaning & sorting in the garage & outbuildings that I want to do. It's WAY to hot to be in any of them right now.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Worrysome about losing weight, when is his next appointment, maybe they can add a weight supplement, does he drink any of those packaged drinks that supplement all he needs to put on weight.

Got up at 9:30, brought out penguins to paint frame black and give the eyes.

Have another finished piece sitting in my car trunk, hoping to get it done,

Imagine GRAYSON’s birthday is Friday but big party Saturday.

That will be my day, what will your day look like?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, he drinks ensure drinks.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I am currently sitting on the couch on the back patio. Our clouds have moved away so I will need to go inside in a moment. We will have no clouds back until Wednesday. They are a big help because they keep the temps down.

My power bill is never under $200 but in the summer normally in the low 300's. This bill was a shock. Good thing I saved my money.

September is a beautiful month here in Las Vegas. August has actually been doable because we have actually had some rain.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I had to cut it short because laptop battery was very low. So brought it into my bedroom and then went back and back washed my koi pond, and watered my pots on the patio. Weather liars were wrong again. In rolled the clouds but they quickly moved to the other side of town. I was going to plant lettuce and radishes but still have not done it. I have promised myself I will do that.

Betty, I cannot believe a year has gone by since he was born. Babies are the best cure for everything.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Rain this afternoon and looks more on the way this evening..love the puddles, imagine me saying this when i normally freak out with great amounts of water.

Sharon have you found this seasons weather different than normal? My bill is usually around $125 a month. Do you get much wind, i found this past week mega rain so i decided to open all windows vs a/c, was still 75°-77° inside, bearable.

Mystery cleared up, slept til 9:30 which is beyond late, went through regular routine and could have slept a few hours later but got up…made my coffee and got my meds together to take with toast..

About 1/2 hour later kept fall8mg sales, tried my best not to doze off, ended up sleeping most of the day

Just finished late supper, my routine is get pills for day and set pills on night table, easier to know if i took them or not. Well tonight no pills, know i prepared them as i had to open new prescription yesterday. Guess i took my morning pills, a tad later saw pills on counter, didn’t pay attention and took them..not a wonder i slept all day.. losing it i tel you?

Verona, ON

Zeke was a star at the vet's today. He is such a happy puppy. Had his first shots and I got a Lyme/Heartworm pill to give him. They can't give me a few months worth as his weight will be changing every time we visit. I took Chaos along for the ride or he would have thrown a hissy fit.

We drove home through a hellish T and L storm. The rain was so heavy at times it was hard to see the road.

Wow Grayson is a year already ! He sure is a cutie.

Betty I have done the same with my pills so I fished out the pill container I used for Warren's meds. I fill it every Sunday for the week. I also have to check my cell every morning to see what day it is as sometimes they run together.

So what has everyone planned for the week ? I plan to wing it as the Weather Liars say it will rain most of Mon and Tues.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Our electric runs $400- $475. There are 7 of us here and down stairs is kept like an ice box. It will be interesting to see if a week with the air off helped the bill. We did get the sewing room all packed up, maybe just in time.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Karen, "just in time"? is that a hopeful note that you have an offer coming???

Linda, can Todd afford to lose any weight? I am glad to hear that he is drinking supplements.

I hope to get another quilt on the longarm frame. I NEED to get several quilts binding on. I also have a quilt challenge that is in September I need to prepare for. We were each given a grab bag of fabric scraps and must incorporate some of each of them into the quilt we create. The quilt must be at least 36 x 36.

I leave for Portland Friday afternoon & be back Sunday. Going to see Kevin (son #2)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening, just call me couch potato

Dianne, i do the pill container as well, what i must have done was take my morning ones out, the night ones to take to my bedroom, do this every day. Must have taken morning ones, had forgotten to put the others in bedroom and thought i forgot to take them and voila all my pills taken in one day.

Lordy if you were driving in the rain we had it must have been nerve racking for you.

Going to take it easy, like you suppose to get rain 2-3 days. Haven’t stepped outside today so with it being 73 inside the rain must have cooled things down. Good for Zeke, do they each have a cage?

That is a lot of money Karen paying that much, is that a month or every 3 months? Guess potential buyers ask as to how much it cost. To run the home they are thinking of buying?
Must make you sad packing all your sewing things away. You must be feeling better?

I’m with Pat “just in time” Hmmm

Pat seems as though you’ve become a roadrunner, big smile.am sure Kevin will be pleased to have you visit.. Interesting Re bag of fabric, almost like a swap.
Sounds like long arm quilting is going better.

Heard Dallas had a tremendous amount of rain, did you get any.

I enjoy watching ,how do they do it’ boggles my mind at technology

Victoria Harbour, ON

Grayson has a busy week

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, some areas of Dallas are flooding.
We had a nice little Thunder shower tonight. It rained good for about 2 hours.

Pat, hubby was 215 before he got sick, now weighs 155. He can't afford to lose too much, as he finally starts his chemo pills Wed. Praying he doesn't get any bad side effects.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I haven't been in sewing room in a year. It's just too cold. While everyone else was gone, we turned the air off and hubby helped me pack it all up. Took a few days. I'm just hoping I'll still be able to sew once we move. I'm eliminating a lot.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, oh goodness from 215 to 155 is a HUGE amount of change. Likely that 155 is not his best weight. Praying for successful, easy chemo. Sometimes the chemo my Dad did was pretty non-stressful, other times, not so much.
It is going better on longarm, we still have a long way to go before stress-free and anywhere near "perfect" but we are getting there. NO broken thread today, tension remained good, on the whole a good day but did not finish the quilt.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Good tension and no broken thread sounds like a huge win to me, with any kind of sewing.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

LOL.... but I am USED to those results with my domestic sewing machine & serger!!! You know, we ARE getting there. It's coming, slowly!

Karen, I pray that wherever your new home is, that it will be what you NEED and want. Somewhere you are physically and emotionally healthy & happy. It is hard to imagine you not sewing for a year but it's easy to imagine being so uncomfortable and cold. With my arthritis in my hands, a cold & even mildly damp environment would be debilitating Send prayers for you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, beautiful fall day..girls just left a dam thinking of taking a tote or 2 of fall 🥱

Glad I set alarm for 6am because as it allowed me to get my morning routine done before the girls got here at 9:00, I am a happy camper when regular cleaning is up to par.

About 11 we had visitors, Ann and the twins, Alex & Alexis, Karen you met Ann in Frankenmuth, many of you many not remember but her daughter had twins prematurely, small than the premises..were in sick kids over a year, still under their care but doing wonderfully.
If ever we were granted a miracle with our prayers this was one time.. our young princess has several heart operations, kidney surgeries etc..doctors did not believe she would survive

They are 8 now and active as they come..off to Cuba they go Sunday so they were telling us all the fun times they will have.

My shoulder was bad, Alex said he knew special techniques for massaging, told him when he left I no longer had pain….just brings smiles to see how well they are doing..

Lindakay that is quite a loss, is he still losing or is the loss at a stand still… did you do the happy dance as it rained..not enough to be of any value right?

I’m with you gals, cold sure does a number on the hands and hip, i keep working them but there is a lot of clicking going in those old bones.

we girls were making fun of how all we could barely do for pain, isn’t going to get any better right?

I’ve seen me want to throw a machine out, so maddening, wouldn’t sew, never found out why but go back to it days later and perfect stitches. Sharon went through that yesterday, was trying to get the dog quilt order and on the last hour it started act8ng up.

Busy busy day..Georgia just came, she had finished her project last week so we decided to do a fall table topper for her mom, she got the fabric cut and her 5 fall colour blocks done..never heard anyone yawn so much lol. Next week she will sew the 13 1/2” block sew together, set leaves on solid blocks and she will be ready to quilt.

I did sew for 1/2 hr and said to self, that is enough for today!

What did you all do with your day? If resting, good for yo!!

Oh my hard to imagine it's been 8 years. We all were on pins and needles for them for so long. They look wonderful.

Victoria Harbour, ON

They are indeed miracles, prayers were heard by our Lord.

Time to head to bed.have a 1:30pm appointment with doctor tomorrow, want to be rested lol

Some locals have been posting our sunsets..not sure why but it should have been replaced..had a sunset painted and wording that said “Victoria Harbour, Worlds most beautiful sunsets.. don’t you think it should be replaced.

Goodness, those sunsets are AMAZING!!! I can't believe it's been 8 years since the twins were born. They are wonderful miracles & answers to prayers. .

I spent most of today bailing water out of the "renters" bath tub & trying to unclog the drain. I am going to leave the chemicals in until tomorrow morning. If that doesn't do it.... I guess I will try "something" else, not sure what. Adam is out of town & may not be back for a few more days.

I got the Sock Monkey quilt finally completely done, Not perfect but we are getting better. It seems safe now to enter the room without ear plugs. Sorry, I was not able to climb back up and flip the quilt for a better shot of the back. The turquoise is actually much brighter than it shows in the pics.

So glad to hear the twins are doing well. Hard to believe they are 8 already.
Beautiful quilt Pat. Well done.
Betty, those sunsets are beautiful.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

That is wonderful that the twins are doing so well. I remember when it was touch and go.

We are suppose to have rain tomorrow but I will believe it when I see it. I found my lettuce and radish seed, so I will get that planted tomorrow. winter vegs. I cannot find my spinach seed so will give a good look tomorrow.

I am going sometime this week and get we some drawer lining. I have 4 very large top drawers that are crammed with every cooking utensil you would ever want. I am going to reduce them down and put the ones I very seldom ever use in a box and put thrm in the pantry. Ones I do not use in a year, I will give away. I have two sections in the kitchen that are wicker baskets built-in to the cabinets hanging on a frame. I cleaned out 3 today that were so full you could barely open them and now they have about two inches of items in them. Address labels, pens that do not work, mostly, just junk. One basket was completely full of computer cables. I put them in a box for my grandson to look at and tell me if they were useful for anything.

Betty, I pray every night that you have less pain. I also thank Heavenly Father every night because I have very little pain. I gave my sister CBD cream for her very painful neck and she says it is working wonders.

Diane, I bet your new puppy is adorable.

Afternoon, glorious day.just got back from the doctors office in midland, should be cutting grass but I’ll wait til Friday so it’s freshly cut for weekend. My morning post went into never ever land, guess when Sharon came to get pattern for Halloween piece i use have shut off the iPad and lost it…grrrr

Was in the patient room and 1st thing doctor said ‘do you have the serum for your shots?’we had a long conversation about health system, he looked to see what is covered under OHIP , either not being manufactured any more or waiting on chemicals. I asked what meds I could get that aren’t covered, same story, waiting on chemicals! Big sigh

He made sure all my scripts are updated and allowed for more being taken per day and that is that.

Pat i love the side with the pinwheel..the design you picked sure shows up..yep, you are getting the hang of it, is Marie comfortable with it now?

Sharon, as long as it’s not torrential rain it will be good for gardens right or does the in ground water system keep it damp. The day you give some away is the day you will need it. Sure wish we could have winter veggy gardens, going to miss corn, tomatoes, cucumbers and yellow beans.

I should follow suit..that shelf paper sure makes a clean look to shelves and drawers ..i only have 3 drawers. How to heck do we get so much, don’t recall getting a lot given to me at Christmas. As for pens I’ve zip lock bag full of pens set under the storage area of coffee table, bet more than half won’t work

Maybe i will do i drawer tomorrow

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I don't know if Marie is "comfortable" or not. She really has been in there with me but not doing any of it. We generally walk/talk it thru as we do something. I think she is waiting to have her chicken quilt done & will then longarm that. She has a dog quilt/shower curtain that she is working on as well.

I have some teenage boys & leaders coming tonight to put in a new window AC in my bedroom. I wish I was ready to have the filing cabinet moved to the garage etc while I had help!!! I am trying to incorporate the things I need into my space. I bought a small convection oven & have a hot plate being delivered this week. I moved my cutlery block and a utensil crock to my all-purpose room (can hardly call it a sewing room now! LOL) along with some of my utensils & a cutting board.

So sad you can't get the meds you need Betty.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I am again on the back patio couch. Rain storm is moving in but according to radar it is going SE and I am NW. I noticed a hardy hibiscus looking like it was being attacked by a tomato worm. No, a big ugly grasshopper. I posted it on Facebook. I cannot post photos on her. My new i phone does not communicate with DG's system.

Pat, I think your quilt is wonderful. I am going to go dig up the large bed and plant some radish and lettuce seed. Found two more tomato worms yesterday.

Have to go, I will return later, laptop has run out of juice.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, my phone started using HEIC format and not JPeg. THAT is when I could no longer post pictures. I found the setting area on the phone camera & was able to reset it to Jpeg & it works again. Is it possible your incapability is that simple? I take the pictures on my phone, send it to my email & download it. THEN go Davesgarden etc & pull from that file for the picture. I am grateful I no longer have to use my digital camera, then upload the pictures etc. I have almost NO technology smarts, so I was stunned when I managed to find & change the settings! My nickname for myself is "Techno Zero". (do you think that is why I have struggled with Pro-Stitcher?? LOL)

There are still so many medications & technologies that are NOT available due to the whole Covid mess.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well as i had hinted, we did have an offer. We made a counter and the people just walked away.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

NUTS!!! Ok, "next"!!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

ARGH!!! I just want it over. Tired of keeping the house "show" ready with very little cooperation from the teens. Having to leave and take the dog with us when one is scheduled is a pain. Although I must say. Ozzy hated the car and he is learning to like it. We usually go to our 50s drive in and get him a corn dog.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Karen.
Heard a news story yesterday, that house prices have dropped drastically the past few weeks.
Those that paid outrageous prices this past year, will never get what they paid.
Praying you get an offer soon.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Bribing the dog with a corn dog was a stroke of genius!

I hate to see the people who were forced to buy at the outrageous price upside down in the loans. That MIGHT cause some foreclosures, but the prices were simply out of reach for most people. I would be happy to see prices come down here, they are AWFUL.

I have a plumber coming at 2 to fix the clog in the bath tub. We tried everything & nothing worked.

My AC was installed in my bedroom yesterday!!! OH MY.... a cool bedroom & since I could shut the door and not die of heat stroke, no Stanley = good night sleep!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nothing like a good night's sleep.
Hope you can get that clog removed easily.

Verona, ON

I need a shower but need to cool my body down a bit before I take one. I just got all the eaves on the lake side of the house cleaned out and some on the front of the house. Definitely can't reach the eaves on the carport. The cortisone shot has worn off in my knee so it is talking to me. I shouldn't have been on the ladder but it had to be done. "Someone" who promised to do the eaves last year and then again this year didn't show either time. Last year I let it slide but just couldn't this year.

Oh Betty I am so sorry you can't get the meds you need to help you get through the day. Remember when our health care system here in Ontario was second to none ? Tommy Douglas would roll over in his grave if he knew. I had a run in with a snarky new tech at the Rx last week. I bit my tongue and didn't say what I wanted to but let her know I did not appreciate her manner.

Zeke is zonked out on the hearth. He is still so puppy he zooms around and then collapses in almost mid stride and falls asleep. Chaos is not getting around well. I try to keep him off the bed but the stinker waits until I am asleep and sneaks up. I keep a sheet ready to lift up his back legs if necessary.

LK I am not making light of the situation at all but I have some extra pounds I would gladly share with Todd. hope his doctor's appointment goes well.

Pat the same thing is happening with the real estate market here in Canada - especially in the Toronto area. People were over bidding not just by a few thousand but tens of thousands to seal their deal on a house. I think you are right there will be some foreclosures unfortunately. I saw in the Toronto Star real estate section last week some houses have already dropped their price or sold their home for hundreds of thousands less.

Betty I remember when those twins were born and how we all here lifted them up in prayer. They are a couple of cuties.

Deb any dog shows coming up ? It must have been awfully hot for your boys. Mine with their black fur didn't spend too much time outside in the heat. They still if I have the AC on at night so I can sleep in a cool room lay over a floor vent.

I sure understood what you were saying about sleeping in a cool room Pat. Warren detested having the AC or even a fan on while he was sleeping. I would get so hot I would have a shower in the middle of the night. Of course that would wake him up. I just laughed and said choose the fan/ac or me showering. Lots of nights I waited until he was asleep and turned the ac/fan on.

Has anyone heard from Judy or Liz ?

Oh Karen am sending positive thoughts that your home will sell soon.

Stay safe, well and hydrated.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Dianne, I wish your promised help had been reliable & kept their commitment. I understand the frustration. It's all I can do to get up a ladder & I sure should not. There is no excuse for me, I have people I can ask who DO show up. If I'm climbing a ladder, it's because I am too stubborn or prideful to ask for help.

I LOVE white noise when I sleep so besides wanting the cool air, I like the noise.
