Hope they can find out what is wrong with Phil..disgraceful isn’t it with care system.
Probably something minor with set up but that can create mega mega problems.
How many throws/quilts do you have to bind, wish i lives closer, love hand sewing in the evening.
Kitchen is a disaster, unpacked groceries and barely a place to set them in, must clean it up before i climb into bed.
Temps are horrible, we are suppose to have a feel like 104 this week coming. With only 40% rain predicted a few days likely what is left of the lawns and gardens. Think i heard Kentuckyhad a deadly storm.
Tomorrow is an even number day so I will give all a good water8mg.
Best/Worse/what did I learn Today? Come sit awhile and share you day..newcomers always welcome!
Good morning. Another hot, hot day here.
Oh my heart hurts for Marie and her husband. Their wait is fairly typical of the wait in the ER here. Some hospitals are closing their ERs. One terrible factor is that the ambulance drivers have to remain with their incoming patient until they can be seen no matter how long the wait is - that means all of the ambulances drivers have to stand down and that significantly lowers the amount of ambulances able to go out on calls
Betty we are also in for a week of temps in the high 90's and with the humidity added in over 100*
Sharon I saw all the flooding in LV. Are you OK ? The strip will need quite a while to get back up and running.
Zeke and I are definitely going to wade in the lake today.
Stay safe, well and hydrated.
Morning, its 66°F and with the breeze it actually feels cool but hotter days are coming,
Dianne, will you only take Zeke out in the water?bet he loves it.
I didn’t listen to the news, must go read up on Las Vegas. Between fires, drought and wildfires, so many people are affected.
Staying home today, just waxed Sharon’s stained glass piece so lots of buffing
I should not have listened to her, when near the window the sky almost looks clear..very disappointed Dianne.
Will wait til around noon and get my grass cut, hate to do it when it is so dry..i will lift the cutter a few notches.
Linda just messages me, she has Covid..
Weather is bad all over, wild fires, flooding.
Haven't heard from Sharon, praying she is OK.
Sorry to hear about Linda having covid. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
The MRI showed no infection in the bone, that's a huge relief. I have not heard from her yet this morning.
Prayers for Linda's quick recovery.
Dianne, we want pics of Zeke!!
That is good news Pat, perhaps a really bad infection.
Most work i did today was water gardens, this weather is playing havoc on the hanging planters and finished Sharon’s piece.
Rest of the day on couch but i did cut out a puzzle that once it’s cut in glass will be a Xmas present.
What a puzzle, sat utting out
Sorry to hear about Phil, but glad it's not a bone infection.
Poor Linda - covid's not fun as I know you all know.
Betty - I have my car, and he has the one "she" gave him in Feb 2021, a 2006 Monte Carlo, as payment for $4,000 of work she couldn't pay him for, then he had to pay another $2,000 to make it road-worthy. He couldn't see that was a problem "Not paying out of the household $$!!" Ok, she wasn't giving him $$, so where did he think our pensions went? He's never been $$ clever. If he has $$ in his hands, he must spend it.
Love that penguin stained glass picture - priceless!
Glad to hear he has no bone infection Pat.
Betty, I too, love that penguin piece. It's going to be beautiful.
Betty can you maybe use glass stain to "blue" up the sky a bit? It would seem to me to be a better option than replacing it.
Still nothing here house wise.
Karen, I’m not replacing it, had perfect glass and she said toooo dark, i didn’t think so but as it is not for me so the lighter colour it will be. Well here is hoping their will be more viewers and you get an offer. How are you feeling.
Thanks, just sketched and blocked penguins, hope it turns out, no strength in hands anymore, but I shall try.
Pat did you talk to Marie Re quilter to see what they found..any news on Phil.
You had said you were having meeting or talks with your family Re the move to get your home back…what will Stanley do with all that room.
Susan, that job cost him a lot more than possibly losing $$, he lost you..what a shame after so many years.
Wish people would get up, anxious to cut my grass but know many work the night shift so i will wait til 10
Haven’t eaten yet so maybe some muffins
Marie did not ask what the problem was with the quilter. I am sure when they called she just had too many things on her mind.
Although the fiery redness is reduced, the swelling is not. They expect to try Phil on oral antibiotics Sunday and possibly discharge Monday.
In response to my request to both Adam & her to have a talk to work things out on Sunday, my DIL sent me a text saying that she was sorry they ever moved in, knew it wouldn't work, that I don't like kids, dogs or a mess etc etc. and that I had made it clear from the beginning I didn't want them here. She said she & her girls & Alex can be out by the deadline. I feel it hopeless to try to work anything out by talking with just Adam, not sure what will happen yet today. I will forever be painted the villain. No good deed goes unpunished.
Pat, I so get where you are at. " No good deed goes unpunished" has been my mantra lately. For some reason trying to help builds resentment.
Often seen as meddling and yet they ask for help. Will d you good to get your place.
Here is hoping antibiotics help
Happy birthday Sharon, saw your post on Facebook, lovely family, look at the cutie pie taking all in. You look great!
Keep waiting for Linda to say she is in the hospital, running a fever, said swallowing is like swallowing glass, severe headache..if she start t have breathing problems they told her to call 911.
Tired today, fell asleep on couch, seemed to me it was 6 was around 6:05, though i should clean off coffee table, go in kitchen and see stove clock, only 1:30. Drats
Yes, this lastest variant of Covid is SOOOOooo contagious and the shots did not seem to lessen the threat of contraction of this one. Oh well.
♫♪Happy Birthday, Sharon!!!!♪♫
I hope your Bday is a GREAT one, surrounded by loving family.
Karen, I’m not replacing it, had perfect glass and she said toooo dark, i didn’t think so but as it is not for me so the lighter colour it will be. Well here is hoping their will be more viewers and you get an offer. How are you feeling.

Still waiting for rain, watered the gardens but they should use a day of soft rain.
Sharon leaves tonight for her trip
I keep checking on Linda, i probably keep waking her up so my last message was for her to message me when she woke up so i don’t disturb.
Found and old panel painting i must have started ions ago, guess if i finish it one day maybe it can be put on the easel i have and set it in the secret garden.
Drats, sitting here doing Christmas presents (sg) and then switching to next spring gardens,,
Did you ever get where you can’t settle down so you jump from project to project or even do nothing..can’t believe this long weekend is almost over.
Fireworks went off here in neighbourhood last night so doubt they will tonight..
Think it was around 2:30am when I called Roger’s to say about every 2 minutes it freezes, told me something wrong on our lines, would be fixed by 10..i told him he had best mark that I should not be charge for all the hastles last 2 weeks..
you're right, Betty - you should not be paying for non-service. Good for you, for standing up for your rights on this!
Tomorrow morning I will have my 2 new-to-me loveseats :) I need to get rid of the old couch though - no takers, even free. :( Oh well, it will be a bit crowded in my place until I do. There's room in my bedroom for the couch, temporarily, but it won't go through the door. I have the old loveseat in my den.
The hydroplane races are over for ANOTHER year, thank goodness!
My SIL Sharon called me this morning. She was admitted to hospital Saturday morning. She has UTI that has gone septic. On Friday her daughter dropped by to check on her, the AC had failed in the house & Sharon was in the house waiting for a repairman that never came. Sharon was disorientated and Miriam took her home with her. Then to ER on Saturday morning where they learned about the UTI. The hospital still does not have it under control yet.
My BIL Phil is still in the hospital, and they think he is allergic to the bandages & salve they have put on his legs. They still can't get the swelling in his feet under control. they have ruled out blood clots and done circulation tests and the MRI indicate no infection in the bone. Slow going that is for sure.
I've been sleeping in the recliner in my sewing room, my bedroom has been so hot, 85. My Bishop stopped by, he said to try moving my fan so that the air is pulled OUT of my bedroom instead of facing in. THAT really helped! I have a window a/c in there but 111 degree weather was proving it ineffective! He has offered to come back with help and install new A/C in the room. It means taking the window literally out as it is old and does not open across wide enough. IF it wasn't for the fact that will be my guest bedroom again (when Adam & family leaves), I would just tough it out.
Stay cool everybody, stay hydrated!
Looks as though the heat has found us on, mother nature isn’t happy
Weather lied, said rain at noon, no rain..at least I hope Dianne got some.
Pretty sure my a/d isn’t on and is 77°f in here, wind is up so feels good.
I did burn that pit I’d last limbs, thought I’d get it done before rain, no rain.
Dianne they are saying Kempenfest broke attendance this weekend
Susan, couldn’t your helpers delivering your new pieces take it to dump or if you have big object pickup you could put it out as you are trying to make your home more spacious
Pat, sorry to hear Sharon has gone septic, laying in the heat all alone poor thing
Last year i kept getting uti’s , very uncomfortable ir is..hope she is feeling better.
If they take window out for a/c will you have to leave it in…or put in a new window.
What is happening with the rest of you?? Hope relaxing out of the heat
Thinking about supper, had ham and salads for lunch, won’t be much to be sure, maybe tomato and cucumber sandwiches..no cooking i this heat
Sending prayers for all those in need.
Only 99 today. Tomorrow will be 101 or more.
I like the sound of a tomato sandwich.
No rain here. There is a fire ban as it is so dry. I have quite a bit to burn but if it gets away from you you are responsible for paying the Fire department
Looks like I am up for awhile. I can't be angry as Zeke woke me as he needed to go outside. He is such a sweetheart. Pat as soon as I can get into my email I'll send some photos to Betty so she can post them. I am so ticked at my IP - it's Bell but I understand Rogers is not much better in this area.
Betty I am happy to hear Kempenfest had record crowds. It's been so hard for artisans to make a living during covid. It must have been very hot though for everyone.
LK it is 82 here on the lake side of the house right now. I am expecting it well into the 90's for us today. That's hot for us. How is Todd feeling ?
Just turned the TV on in hopes that will lull me to sleep.
Stay safe, well and hydrated.
Todd continues to improve daily. He has 2 weeks of therapy left.
Linda, so good to hear that Todd continues to improve.
Marie said she took Phil home yesterday. The plan is to have home health care come & treat/assess him at least weekly. They are to keep all bandages etc off his leg. When he has to come into the doctor etc, in public, then it will have light covering that they test out first on his thigh to see if he is reactive.
Dianne, looking forward to seeing pics of your little sweetheart.
My goofy cat has limited spacial awareness. I have never seen a cat fall off stuff as much as him! In order to keep the bedroom at a tolerable temperature, I have been forced to keep my bedroom door open 24x 7, So Stanley joins me during the night. He rolls over and forgets he is near the edge and falls off, TWICE last night! LOL EVEN after I moved closer to the center of the bed so he would have a greater margin of safety! I love my goofy cat!
Evening all
Dianne we got about an hour of rain, only got to 72, believe tomorrow we will have a feel like 104°f.
I feel so bad for Pennsylvania, actually for all, over USA with heat, floods and fires.
Yes Dianne I often check to see if I’ve got a message from you, anxious to see Zeke. Didn’t take him long to be trained. Hope the sandman finds you. Yep Roger’s has its problems as well..so many glitched.
So glad to hear that Todd is near the end of his treatments and is doing well.
Guess you are still being prisoner to the heat. Have you been sewing?
Igreat that Marie can get home care for Phil to check on Phil even if for only once a week
Susan did you get your 2 love sheets and is the large couch gone.
Linda is still feeling poorly.. her worse nightmare came true, Dave has it as well, he has a lot of difficulties even including beginning of Alzheimer’s. Sure hope he doesn’t get as I’ll as Linda or worse.
Sharon is in the islands, forget which she went to, was going to go to Cuba but she and her girlfriend changed location.she said there was not one security guard or Covid agent where she needed to board
Had a surprise, Suzanne’s daughter called me this morning, she flew in with her 3 girls as a surprise to her mom..Suzanne is having problems with her heart again and was told not to fly so she went into a deep depression so what a surprise Sunday when she answers the door and there they were.. her hubby stayed as they have a business to tend to and 3 weeks away was impossible for him. Girls want to come see Aunt Betty so they will visit either tomorrow or the next day..only problem is none have Covid shots and at airport, airplane you never know what they could have picked up.
Ted Marie’s hubby loves to bake so today she brought me a large piece of date square..had a late lunch so this will be my supper..very sweet.
I’ve been pitting some hours in on my Penguin piece but very time consuming..just started and remembered I had a class today at 3-5 so there went afternoon. I enjoy murder she wrote which comes on at 7 so i will be all comfy, ready to watch while hoping the sandman finds me.
Awe. Thanks for the photos Dianne and Betty.
Zeke is so handsome. But looks like he is full of it.
Oh LK he is full of P&V but in a good way. That is Nyla and Piper with Zeke. That's Kieran he comes down and takes Zeke to play with Piper (the smaller Chocolate Lab) Nyla doesn't know who she belongs too so Kieran's family and I make sure she is loved.
Zeke will be a big boy once he finishes growing. Rottis take a full 2 years to fill out there frame.
Pat Stanley sounds like a sweetie. He is the size of some dogs - is he about 25 lb?
This message was edited Aug 2, 2022 8:11 PM
No, Stanley is "only" 14 pounds. He's is bigger than lots of cats but is not as big as what a purebreed Maine Coon would be. Stanley is a very funny kitty, in some ways gentle but playful/obnoxious. He can be a real pest and KNOWS exactly what he wants. He will push, pull, prod until his body is exactly where he wants it against me, generally with his face in the palm of my hand. He is a cuddler with the people he knows but makes himself scarce with strangers. When I am on the computer is generally is curled up in my arms, or patting me on the shoulder trying to get my attention.
Zeke is a real beauty! He is so big already!
Phil is not supposed to put weight on his foot so Marie has to assist with ALL transfers from wheelchair to chair, to toilet etc. She is REALLY homebound now. I spent part of today there & then back out to the pharmacy for special supplies she needed to tend to Phil.
Afternoon, a storm is brewing, thunder is close to home so rain can’t be far behind. Jeff went back to the city seeing there were major waterway warnings.
Just had a young lady here sewing since 9:30 and just left..she brought cinnamon rolls this morning so we sat and grabbed till her mom got here.finished my cinnamon roll, sat on couch for a few minutes, now can’t hold my eyes open
Poor Marie, will me difficult for her tied to the house.
So need a nap
OH.... cinnamon roll sounds soooo good!
I will head into the shop today to see if I can get photos of the set up of their quilting machines. When the guys came to set it back up TTuesday, after being in the shop, they left the cords behind at the shop. I went and got them Wednesday but something is not right. I see female receptacle plug that are not in use & have a cord I can't find where to plug it in. If we had ANY idea WE would be the one putting it together, we would have taken pictures. NOT happy. I guess if I can't figure it out today, they will have to come back out Friday (they had said Friday was their earliest available time when they discovered the problem Tuesday)
FIRST, call and find the special supplies Phil needs. THEN I'll deal with the longarm. I worry about Stanley when I am gone so much. He does NOT like being alone but can't come with me to Marie's. Stanley & Marie's dog are not on good terms,
Betty, what projects are you working on with the young lady? Those cinnamon rolls sounds good.
Pat, sure hope you can get that longarm up and running soon.
Sure hope that Dianne is ok..we had quite a storm pass through, about 2 hrs worth
Yet another on its way.
Sharon and. a Brian, put hers together, had some glitches Pat, think for the price you pay for one they should have representative put it together and give a series of one on one lessons. I’d never be able to put one together, half the time can’t figure out the iPad or tv remote 😜
Poor Stanley, can’t remember, did Stanley move in with you before the kids? We sure do worry about our furries.Ziggy went out when i let Brianna out at noon, he must be hiding somewhere and afraid to come out..I’ve called and called him but he must be ok where he is..hope he comes in before bedtime.
Not happy with Jeff, he was out in kayak 8n part of the storm, told me he wasn’t so i didn’t worry but now when he tells me he is always safe i won’t believe him
Beautiful throw, and ziggy approved. Can't beat that.
Glad to hear ziggy is back home.
I don't worry about furries here, but fin & feather I do :)
Betty - I DO have my 2 new loveseats. I haven't gotten rid of the couch yet. My helper has a short box & just barely fit the 2 short loveseats into it. A 3 seater won't fit. I moved the couch back into place, put the new loveseat where the old one was, and the 2nd one went between the couch & the coffee table. It meant that I could put my feet up on the arm of the 2nd loveseat....... not exactly my choice. Last night I took the 2nd one into my bedroom near the end of my bed, leaving an aisle between the two.
Glad Ziggy's back home, and oh my ........... Jeff didn't think how this fib of his would affect you, but that's on him, not you.
ACK!! I would have not been happy with Jeff either!!! My mom was hospitalized with congestive heart failure while my dad was up in Alaska, she didn't want me to call and tell him. I did anyhow. How could Dad have EVER trusted to leave town again if we had not?? Sorry but honesty is best policy. TRUST is not an easy thing to repair.
We have "life time" lessons, but between Covid and other complications, it has been difficult to get help. We got the cords straightened out and the longarm up and running again today. We have a sample practice piece on the machine now. I could not stay to finish. I will go back tomorrow and HOPEFULLY be able to put a "real" quilt on.
I had Stanley more than a year before Adam came. Then we started bringing ONE dog, Nova. Then several months later his whole family including the male Thaddeous and the "rat dog". I don't know what it is, some kind of terrier.
Susan, can you put a "free" sign on it and put it at the curb there? Or put ad on Marketplace?
I put an ad on Marketplace and no, can't put it at the curb with free. Two reasons for that, we have a small community & don't have a "pickup at the curb" service, nor would it generate much interest in our Park of 27 homes.
We've been having quite a few days of rain. I put them on several "Free" area sites with FB. I'm not getting Any interest, so it will have to go to the dump. The old loveseat can stay in my den. So much has been moved out that there is now room under the window.
Susan is there a church that could use it, maybe a goodwill?
Pat, glad to hear you have the longarm running.
