Won’t talk long, tornado warning in effect,so dark out there..

Lindakay, chemo? What is the reason for chemo, did i miss it?

Karen, worth a chance, real estate dealings sound complicated these days

Glad Judy is doing better

Best i go downstairs

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Surgeon told us, any time they find a large tumor like Todd had, they do chemo and or radiation, just to make sure it's not trying to spread.

Betty, please stay safe.

My daughters was very small and they did both chemo and radiation. She is now cancer free.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Linda Kay - "better safe than sorry", so I'm glad to hear they're taking things seriously & taking care of Todd.
Betty - I agree, stay safe. Tornadoes are nothing to fool with.

Well, the couch & loveseat I wanted turned out not to be so nice. There's a Big tear at the top of the back. It could be covered if it's up against a wall, but it would't be. It would be up against a moveable counter, about 32" high, so I decided not to get it after all. I did, however, find a set of loveseats that I believe will fit into my small livingroom better. The couch always infringed upon the space for the Christmas tree, and that just cannot happen! (so There!). I have 2 helpers who will pick up the 2 loveseats for me, sometime before Aug 5th, when the seller needs to have them out of her home. If I have to have the current set taken to the dump so be it. I'm getting no takers on it for sale OR free. Ah well, it will be what it will be.

Linda, disappointing about the set you had in mind, but I am glad that you had not made a commitment that was non-reversible.
I have "consulted" my other 3 sons & s

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, just heading to pharmacy to get my sleeping pills and thought I’d drop in for a few seconds.

Susan, glad you took a good look at it before it got delivered..glad you have an alternate, look at you thinking Christmas tree.

Pat, glad you consulted your other kids..

I just contacted my siblings, i got a call from the seniors apartment not 10 miles from me saying they had a 2 bedroom apartment available September..only miles from me and Sharon and Bernie and 1/2 hour from Mike. Minute i said 2 bedroom apartment she said ‘i don’t want a 2 bedroom, not going to stay in a shoebox..aunt Muriel lives there, has 2 senior nieces as well.

Makes me so won’t say the word but you’ve heard it before, i just said ok and hung up on her grrr you can only do so much. She will wait til she has a fall, breaks her hip and be put in a home far away.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Now that i rambled on the sun has come out, I’d winds go down i will start to burn, Ross finished the roof, did a great job, cut all limbs that were over the roof, before he he put his equipment away he cut all the tree branches that overhung the driveway with his commercial trimmer , same as a gas trimmer but has a 10’ length with a chainsaw blade on it…quite a unit. Within minutes my yard is full of tree limbs but wow, no longer look like the old lady that lives in a forest lol

It's very difficult to convince them they need a better place to live.
That's a lot of limbs cut.
Glad to hear the roof is done.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Yes, Betty - I usually start thinking about Christmas in Sept, but you've taught me that starting to think about Christmas on Boxing Day is not a bad thing hahaha I haven't Quite gotten to that stage yet, but as I know I'm here for Christmas I might as well take the whole year in :)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We have a viewing tomorrow so maybe our new offer is working.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here is hoping it works Karen, you deserve a break

Susan, takes the pressure of the festive season when you aren’t under Christmas pressure

Mary came out shortly after, we burned limbs and leaves for 2 1/2 hrs.i came in to get ready for funeral. Had a nice talk with my godson and his wife and some I’ve not seen in years. Some of those at funeral will come tomorrow for celebration of life. Did groceries for tomorrow..had 2 downpours while driving home, sure hope Jeff got his kayak loaded before the rain.

Put my feet up but I’ve things to do, Len came and did the front ditches but now i. Need do do back yard trimming because if i don’t do it tonight I’ll have to be up again 6am tomorrow.

What shall i do, what shall i do??

So humid out there my legs are crying

Sharon went to Locke NY for dog show..won lots of awards and i think best in show..did her well to go away. She picks up Inuk’s ashes on Monday

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, What did I miss? A funeral?
I would try to find someone to trap those little critters. Before they do anymore damage.
Congrats to Sharon at the dog show. That's awesome news.
Karen, good luck, Hoping you get a bid or two.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Waiting to see if we hear anything. Log houses aren't for everyone.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Cute picture of those racoons!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, yep still morning
Was up just before 6, sitting with my feet up for another 15 minutes as that is when my cousin Sandra comes to help me make sure all the food is ready as people will arrive, Celebration of Life is from 1-3 or longer.

Lindakay, it’s for my cousin that passed was at Christmas, he was cremated and had burial yesterday at 11. There were some of my cousins at the funeral who will not make it today, mom from her fall couldn’t come up, Sharon is in USA at a dog show,
Linda is in Winnipeg and flies home tonight.

There was only Sandra and Gary in the family, he lived most of his life 8n Windsor, miles from Detroit so friends here are few.

BUT we did him right..he had no will, no $$, we got together at Christmas and managed to get enough for burial and a few other things sooo I feel good about helping out.

About the raccoons, don’t know if it’s them but there is no way I can see that a critter got in the roof of my back deck, i was making sounds, had a broom taking on metal ceiling and didn’t what ever it is start peeing…on my settee and i had a new screen that will be put up shortly laying behind the settee, so rushed and got the hose and washed it all down, lots of pee so it has to be a fair size critter..my brother will be here, Bernie build the deck and I am sure he or someone else will know what to do. I’m just worried he will die in this heat and you know what smell I will have big sigh

Hope you hear soon Karen, nothing worse than waiting

How is Todd Lindakay?

Is everyone making themselves comfy in this heat..reminds me, best I so set all the Miskito units

Another showing today. At least we are getting action.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good news
Everyone just left, so much food
We found how one of the 2 raccoons got in, while everyone as here one of them came out, the other was frightened by all the people 26 so I’m laying on the settee near the pond in hope he comes out and i can close that entry area

When i tried

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Now I remember you telling us about him. Sounds like you had a good turnout with 26. Beautiful quilts.
Those raccoons are so destructive. I hope you can block them from getting back in. Make sure there are no young ones up there.
Karen, praying someone makes a good offer soon.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

This day has been a blessing. Last night I found a free beta fish tank in Olds. Well, says I to myself, I'll get it and while I'm in Olds I'll get some toys for my budgie, Pixie. The fish tank wasn't on the deck, so I messaged her. While waiting for her answer I went to Home Hardware's Pet Shop & in looking for toys I talked to the clerk. She said they have a 25% off sale on the last Friday (next week). She said Pixie's cage was too small. I told her I had to watch my finances and told her why. She called a friend who has proper-size budgie cages & it was agreed on $20 for one. It's 3x the size of his old one, so I said "YES"!! When she brought it, she wouldn't take $$. She'd been in my situation so knew how much this meant to me. We ended up going for coffee & I have a new friend :)
In the meantime, the lady with the fish tank had someone go home & get it for me. So now both my fish & bird have new homes :)

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

That is a blessed day! Great news Susan.

Adam is in the hospital with infection in his leg. We hope to know more about the cause soon, he is not responding to medications. Blood tests should be back in another day.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, that truly a blessing. Glad you made a new friend.
Pat, what did he do to his leg? Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Pat - did he get a cut or bite or something? I hope they find the cause & cure soon! Praying for him.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

he dropped a drink of tea on his bare foot & put laceration on his toe. the next day the toe looked infected. THEN the foot started swelling, By next day the leg is red to the knee they went to Urgent care & got antibiotics. the following day the redness is going further up the leg, they went back to hospital and was admitted. So far none of the antibiotics seem to be doing any good.
His blood pressure is up, he says he is not in a lot of pain unless he is walking on it or it is touched. I hope we have answers soon and IMPROVEMENT. Needless to say I am worried, he is only 37!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Keeping him in our prayers

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Linda.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon,

Oh Pat, how is he doing today? Sounds like he had already something going on in his system for this to have happened. Great they’ve kept him in. Will keep him 8n my prayers.

Susan you had quite a day yesterday, they were very kind towards you and how wonderful you found a new friend, well many more counting the budgie and fish..great company. I had a yellow budgie when i was about 6, we had a house fire and lost all…was devastating.

Karen, wow that was a lot of showings, did any offers come in? How have you been feeling.

Deb, Sharon’s Hope did very well at the show, have you registered for any more?

Sharon, how are you enduring this heat?

Dianne, did you get rain, said here it would be an all day rain but got about 10 minutes of it and it moved on, had hoped it would be an all day rain. How,is that little puppy doing, sure has found the best home ever..even has a sibling

Lindakay, hate to ask what the temps are, hope you are inside quilting and keeping an eye on Todd..how is he doing?

Ziggy was meowing to go out about 6, said self, out you go but it’s bed for me, watched end of a movie, grabbed a blanket and I’ve been on the couch all day except for thinking what a waste of the day so up I got, sketched out a stained glass design, blocked it then said nope, doing nothing today, didn’t even get dressed.

Had so much food left from the Celebration of Life and 2 cakes, guess i had best freeze one and have a slice and scoop of ice cream.

I have been feeling so good for last month or so rarely having pain..entire body today is aching, it’s the humidity so hope that temps go back to the 70’s. Listening to news there are record temps all over the world and the say no global warning…there was a documentary on last night, i was drifting in and out..i remember seeing icebergs melting, people were wearing summer clothes when they should have been wrapped up in winter garb, forget what state they referred to but said if it continued to melt at the rate it was meltin it could cover that state with a foot of water.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Haven't done any sewing in a couple of months. Need to find the energy to get back at it.
Todd is doing good. Still continues to improve. He is cooking spaghetti for dinner.

101 today

Victoria Harbour, ON

How wonderful, not the 101 but Todd getting well enough to cook. Do you have a lot of humidity or is it a dry heat?

I haven’t done any project either for at least a month, took some think out to do but almost afraid to try it incase that is the cause of pain but maybe i will try this week.

Ziggy just came by my side, wants me to pet him, keeps looking at me as thought to say ‘it’s almost 7, best go get comfy and call it a day’ so off i go

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Adam says he expects it to be another 2 nights at least. The blood lab is not back yet. He is bored and sore from being on his bottom all the time. I asked if they have encouraged him to walk, they have offered a walker. He won't use it and says it's impossible anyhow with IVs in both arms. He's normally a stomach sleeper (and he can't with the IVs in hospital bed) and has his room DARK. He asked for a sleep mask and I sent one of mine (after covered the leopard print with camo fabric LOL)

I still have LOTS of clean up to do after our yard sale that was all Saturday. I am very sore, my hip hurts. My SIL will help me get this stuff loaded into her truck for all the leftover donations.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying he gets results soon, so they know what they are working with.

Betty, our humidity today was 52%. 102 was our high for the day.
