Victoria Harbour, ON

Sure hope Pat they get answers.. now days you are in and out of hospitals not staying longer than a day or so, must really be concerned, mlordymagarage Sale, that takes a lot of energy, not something I’d undertake, hope you made food $$. He couldn’t sleep with me, i have tv going all night lol

Lindakay, first how is Todd and yourself today?

Both temp and humidity were in the 90°’same I believe..you could hardly breath.

Well i went to town for a few thing, started that Xmas panel, didn’t sew for more than 15 minutes and I started paining..watched everything I was doing, not sure why I tense up so much and lift my shoulders almost,to,my ears so now I am trying to be conscience of not doing that but harder than one would think..i will have to find a unit
That is low so i am forced to sew with arms down.

Sunny here one minute then cloudy.

Called the seniors home to advise them mom does not want the 2 bedroom unit. Grrr

Tired so just sitting here playing with a SG piece

In pre-sales (marketplace ads) and what we will list on Ebay for a couple of more expensive things, we will clear about $900. We bank the money & use it to finance our quilting trips to Prosser. We don't keep track of who sold what or who it originally belonged to, or any of that. This time the stuff was almost exclusively Marie's from cleaning to make room from the longarm. I did most of the pre & post sale work (including donations disposal).

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good afternoon.
Betty, we are both doing well. Thank you.
Todd has appointed Wednesday with the oncologist, and he is so afraid they are going to find more cancer in his body.
We will have wait to get test results.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Our week's forecast: lows & highs expected:

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad Todd & you are doing well, Linda Kay. I can appreciate his apprehension of the appointment with the oncologist......
Pat - YIKES on the temperatures!!!

It rained a bit overnight - cooled things down a mite, but we never got the temps you did, Pat!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pat, that is hot for you all. Stay inside if you can.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I can understand how Todd and you would be worried, let’s hope it’s nothing but good news.

Pat, that is a good amount raised. How is Adam today? You will be cooked, best thing to do is stay in a a/c room.

How are your new guests doing Susan?

Not happy with mine, Ziggy wanted to lay by my side so i pushed over so i could pet him, lasted a few minutes, hissed and clawed me. Such a loving cat normally but can’t be trusted.

Ever see such a sad little boy?

Jeff, even brought a shower with him, all cleaned up

Good luck at the MD appt with Todd. Sending you good thoughts and prayers.

Stanley was NOT happy with me working on my friend's quilt. He wanted my undivided attention and gave me attitude, but he doesn't hiss or claw.

high 90s & some 100 degree weather is not unusual here, but we generally are well equipped for that weather. 112 is WAY hotter than normal! Let's hope they are wrong!!

Adam's leg is looking better, if the switch to oral meds is successful, he might come home tomorrow. The Dx is cellulitis, not MERSA or blood clots, or blood poisoning so that is all good news. MD says he will be off work 2 weeks at least.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - why is Ziggy acting this way, the heat?

My new roommates are happy.
Pixie loves his new, big, cage & he's chipper as can be. He even is able to fly in it. I play some mellow mood music on my record player & he seems to love it.
My beta fish seems to like his new digs too, but is quieter than my budgie LMAO

Congrats on the new pets & their new homes!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, normal summer day here,

just having lunch then outside i go to sit outside.
Pat and June were here til noon, Pat had sewing to do and June had 2 rocks to paint for her garden, bit different.

Beta fish have to live on their own right? Saw such a nice piece of table art with beta Fish inside, so wanted it but I’m sure Ziggy would have done him in..am sure Pixie sings along to the music.

Great news.Pat that there is improve the and that Adam may be released.would be better though if they found why this cut turned infected to the point he had to be hospitalized.

Sharon, Dianne, how are you both doing.

Usually my road trip is this Civic long weekend and i haven’t been able to attend Kempenfest by the lake where usually there are a few people who sell metal art..i get to go hurrah. There is a problem, so many people you gave to part so far away you have to take their transit bus..maybe i can get girls together, get there a few hours earlier, park then go for breakfast..my hopes..need a new piece of rusted art..lol

Pat was telling me the 7nit offered to mom was one of the nicest, 2 bedrooms, kitchenette, dining nook, previous owner had just put in all new floors grrr

Well I’ve eaten my lunch,/now outside I go, may bring my stained glass piece outside, and work on it..as it has a lot of pink in it (using up glass I have) i will gibe the one i just hung that was made from her broken lamp for Christmas and will hang this one instead..can’t wait to start the penguin piece

My sons are VERY prone to cellulitis, any opening in the skin can let bacteria in. One of the MANY reasons that any cut should be cleaned, treated with antibiotic salve and COVERED until healed. According to the reading I have done, poor immune system can be part of the problem.

Verona, ON

Oh wow Betty Kempenfest is this weekend. We used to go do a show in Picton on a Thurs then Friday drive to Barrie. I don't miss the setting up and the tearing down. We always took all of our glass out so it didn't sit outside overnight. I ache just thinking about it. Have a great time !! It has got so large and sprawly. A potter friend who had done the show for years was put way out in the boonies one year. A lot of his regular customers couldn't find him. And oh ya try and get a motel room within 60 mi of Barrie. I would make our reservations the day we left for the next year. But we did have the best KFC while in Barrie. That was a good thing to have set up night then we had lunch for the next day. And yes along with our booth we also sclepped around a cooler.

Hoping Adam will get home today Pat.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear he doesn't have an infection Pat. Cellulitis is very painful from what I have heard.
Betty, I hope you go to the show and find the art piece you are looking for.
Susan. Glad to hear your pets are happy in their new homes.
Only 104 today.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Adam discharged today! Thanks for the good thoughts & prayers.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Two showings tomorrow.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pat, that is good news!

Karen, good luck. Have you had any offers yet?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, saw this on FB. Seems like it belongs in your yard..

Morning everyone..

Karen, you are bound with so many viewings get an offer suitable to you.what does the real estate say the feedback is? Yes, i do have that piece in my yard p, been there 3 or 4 years now..driftwood support needed nailing this year so that isn’t bad..it spends winter outdoors.

Lindakay, didntTodd have a test this week that you were concerned about? It’s more like a fall day here today, but then it’s only 9am

Emptied the pond yesterday, a branch fell from the tree and hit the water feature leg off so i have a young student coming between 9-10 and another at 3 so likely get the arm back in the socket in between and start adding water.

So that is my day, what are you all up to.

Forgot my frame

Betty, that frame is so pretty.

Yes, he has an appointment this afternoon. Don't know what's involved, if there will be more testing? I will post if we know anything.

Prayers that all ok

Verona, ON

Sending positive thoughts and prayers LK that Todd gets positive news when he sees the doctor.

Lovely day here but I just put the AC on. It was very muggy when we walked. Plus I decided to do a hamburg casserole so now the oven is on. I made a big one so I can freeze some meals. I tend not to eat the best and often end up having toast or a sandwich.

I can't sand myself off for the second shower of the day.

Stay safe, well and hydrated.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I second that - hope Todd gets positive news. You both deserve it.

Been a busy day - making arrangements (not finalized) for me to get my 2 loveseats, and moved my loveseat (maybe temporarily, maybe permanently) into the den where it fits perfectly. If Dianne's grandson wants the loveseat (and?) the couch, he can have them both. Tried to move the couch. Got it into my hallway, but then it wouldn't fit through the doorway to my bedroom, so moved it back. That was a "2 glasses of iced tea" moment. Moving furniture isn't a cool-type thing to do on a hot day.
The lady I'm getting the loveseats from will help with movers if mine can't help on the days she's available and won't accept gas $$ that I offered. I'm only 1/2 hour away from her. That's so kind of her. She's moving & says I have until next week to get them.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

That really is cool Susan. Such a kind gesture.

Today has been a heart breaker. I just learned that a former co-worker of mine, Bethany, was murdered this morning. I don't have all the details, but it appears her adopted 29 YO son David has been arrested. Another adult is in critical condition, Bethany died at the hospital of stab wounds.

Bethany had been helping another former co-worker of ours, Vanessa, to get out of a domestic Violence situation. I had delivered a dresser & box springs to Vanessa with Bethany & David's help less than 2 months ago. Bethany was just 47, she was strong & kind, she demonstrated wonderful Integrity. She will be missed by many.

Our longarm quilting lesson by Ginny was this morning. I think we made some progress in our learning, but Ginny took the machine back to the shop, It's making a funny noise and not rolling smoothly.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Pat that is awful news. To be murdered by someone you loved. How tragic her last moments must have been.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, she was calling 911 as it was happening, she died at the hospital. I knew the son had mental health issues, we had discussed this. It's just tragic.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Pat, condolences to you, your co workers and Bethany’s family. ..terrible thing!

Maybe Pat there was something wrong with it all this time.

My news Re Todd’s medical appointment

How about you Karen, any offers come in?

Dianne, storm just blew through, ran out, got umbrellas down, cushions put away, headed for house and got soaked wet, no sooner came inside the sun was wet. Grr we so need rain

Jeff is parked down at the docks, Greg brought him his Jeep, he is off in Barrie getting supplies, will drop in and wash his clothes and off in opposite direction

Best I make a nice lunch

Verona, ON

Betty we are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. Hopefully it will pass over us quickly.

Pat my sincere condolences on the sudden tragic death of someone you knew. Way too young. We had a young girl 19 drive herself into the lake a month or so ago. No one understood - she was accepted in all 5 universities she applied to, her own car, volunteered at 2 different agencies and was all round great teen. Her parents are doctors who supported the teen in everything she did. They were always in the stands when she was on a sports team.

Long weekend here in Ontario so the village will be busy. I'll go to the Farmers Market on Sat. morning when it opens then pick up what I need at Foodland when it opens at 8 am.

Hope the weather forecast is sunny and not too hot for Kempenfest Betty. Enjoy !!

Victoria Harbour, ON

How horrible Dianne, so many of those stories.

Jeff dropped in, we did his laundry, he had been at MEC, bought solar pad charger that hooks up on hid kayak, new frying pans and stove, Lordy he is good to himself, back to the locks and is hoping to sleep at the Swift Locks. He left me a bag of stew, says his meals are the best ever, not so sure I want to try it, maybe on the weekend.

Dianne, I must be getting old, keep thinking about the crowds and all that walking and heat, might stay home.

Did you get the rain?

Yes, shopping in our cottage towns is difficult, guess we have to shop during the week. Are you noticing with the economy less people are up for the summer?

I will do my shopping late morning tomorrow, bet there will be a lot out of stock

Couple of days next week think they are saying we will have days feeling in the 90’s and one in hundred.

How is your new furry doing (sorry, tired, lucky if I know my own name)

Is it a long weekend for all of you

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Long weekend is the 1st Monday in August. Mind you, what do I know about long weekends lol I don't work! Just that some stores are closed, but I'm too busy on Monday to do any shopping anyway lol
oh Pat & Dianne - how tragic. Two senseless deaths.

I had a great talk with a lawyer on Tues - I have title to my home, so Bob doesn't have any rights to it. They've made a "Demand Letter" offering a Division of Property, with him having NO rights to the home or anything in it needed for the running of the household, and offering him his tools, ladders, and the RV with everything in it, plus any personal items of his. They'll mail it to him, c/o his girlfriend's PO Box. I know that he gets mail that way. He'll have to have police attend when he picks up his stuff for both our safety.
I'd better get outside & finish the mowing. Been takng lots of breaks. It's very hot, and it's multiple trips to the fridge for iced tea.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, that is the best news ever that you can keep your home..think Bob would have to have mega $$$ to contest it..worry about you seeing he is unstable..that letter might rile him up or gf might rile him up

Just had supper, nothing like new potatoes and yellow beans, will have cake and ice cream and make myself comfy

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Here's hoping Bob just stays away and let's Mounties oversee the collection of his stuff & LEAVES.

Boat race weekend is coming, THAT is always a nightmare, although not as bad as years ago. Now it's more closely policed. Every idiot for miles around comes to see the hydroplane races.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - every time he has a court date, or trial date, I spend the next 2 days worrying that he will blow up & come see/attack me. At this point I know that he's not going to try & reconcile. His gf will see to that.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending our condolences to both Pat and Diane. Sorry to hear such sad news.

Todd will be on chemo pills for 6 months. He will take 4 pills daily for 2 weeks, then next week no pills. Then lab work, then repeat cycle. All to keep him cancer from returning, or any other small cells from developing.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, so glad to hear you know the treatment plan & it sounds livable.

Susan, I understand the whole PTSD kind of thing going on. Anytime I had to talk to my EX on the phone, I had nightmares. I can't imagine what having to have court dates & live in the same town with him would have been like in the early years.

Diane, so hard when someone so young makes a fatal decision. She must have had her own unknown demons or secrets Poor kid.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, sun is out, calling for a lovely long weekend.

I made a list of tasks for next week to if I get bored I know there is something to do..have a young girl coming to sew at 10-noon, I will cut grass then off into town for groceries, pickup the inuk piece of stained glass i did for Sharon and brought in for camping..made one for the bedroom mom sleeps in this week but need bevels to finish it, weekend project…it will give her the one i just made out of her lamp for Christmas..she will like that. Next one will be the mom/dad and baby penguin if I remember to get design enlarged

Oops young Brianna is here, will make a frog

Good news on Todd lindakay

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Pat - he doesn't live in the same town, but the next town over which is 25 min drive away. Close enough, but "she" goes to visit him all the time, and when I go to the same stores he goes to, I hear from the staff that he "comes here all the time". So far I've only seen him a couple of times, and from a distance. Once I saw him but as he was turned away I walked right by him & didn't recognize him. I found out later from a friend who also saw him, that it was him, and I'd gone into the store so he couldn't (he was between the two doors at a Thrift shop, looking at stuff). We can't be in the same building at the same time.
I may get my "new-to-me" loveseats on Tues morning! My helper can move them then, I just have to confirm with the seller.

Victoria Harbour, ON

i do hope you get them Susan, different furniture will give you a lift.would be hard not to be in same store unless it’s a shoebox, you could be in different areas if the store and never see each other. He has a car? Forget if you only had one and you have it.

Omg Dianne, was listening to the news and they were saying in Ontario hospitals are so short staffed Re nurses that they are closing some emergency rooms..warning people that one never knows about travelling our roads just incase.

I passed 2 accident while coming home, makes me think I best stay home this busy weekend.

I have plenty to do, picked up the Inukchuk so can finish it and I had most of the glass for the Penguins, you would be shocked, i will have to get bill out to show you, going to have to find designs that i don’t have to purchase as much..that being said the pieces I want to go for Mel & Greg is all clear..at almost $20 a sq ft then add in all other expenses it’s sooo much $$$

Stopped at garden center and bought all fresh veggies..going to have corn tonight, play with penguin design and just relax

Hope that is what you are all doing

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Marie took Phil to the hospital, he woke up with bloody legs. They sat in ER from 11.30AM to 14 hours later 1.30AM, when he was seen & admitted. They said his potassium was low, they did ultrasound to check for blood clots 9none) and an MRI this morning, no results yet. I have a timer set and will go up to the hospital later today.
Longarm shop said they could deliver the machine back today but of course that will not work with Phil in hospital. It is scheduled for Tuesday morning. Marie did not think to ask what they found the problem was. I am putting bindings on the practice pieces we finished Wednesday morning.
107 now & expecting to reach 109.
