Yes, Ziggy came in early morning

mom just opened the door for Bella to go out and Ziggy just got out again!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm so glad our cats don't want to go out. Although I wouldn't be sorry if Holly Bad Cat went out and kept on going. Her latest is doing the cat thing of knocking things to the floor. Ducky has never ever done anything like that.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope it's not another late night for you.
You need to tell her, make sure ziggy is in a room with door closed, before she let's her dog out.
Thanks for the new room Betty.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, good to hear that you had such a nice visit with your family. Renters are a challenge! I am so glad I sold our rental several years ago.

My Stanley is STRICTLY indoor (and wants OUT), I would go nuts if somebody let him out!

The quilting machine is NOT going well but we are not giving up. We are doing some online classes and will be contacting the company direct for some additional help. Our dealer does NOT know the Pro-Stitch program.

Marie & I just got back from Spokane (about 2.5 hour drive, one-way), had custom fitting done for bras. Marie desperately needed it. She got 3 new bras and is sooooo happy about it! The properly fitting bra is relieving a lot of the pain in her back, she is comfortable AND breasts are "perky". All over win/ win! We also shopped for shoes. We both have extremely wide feet and need to go to specialty shop.

We booked 2 nights in Prosser for next week while we have help available for Phil. We are excited about getting some "extreme sewing time" scheduled!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Pat, so sorry the learning is going so slowly. I don't think a dealer should be allowed to sell a machine until they can teach the use of it. I took weeks of classes when I bought my new Bernina in 1985. It was part of the package. They wanted to be sure we knew all the machine could do even if we never used some of the features again. It worked to their advantage too. I purchased many accessories from them. Then I was doing garment sewing and used most of what it had to offer. Now with mostly quilting the old gal still serves me well.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

The dealer was very upfront about not know the program. That she would show us the basics and then it was up to us to learn from the training videos. The dealers are not given the software and must pay $3000 if they want it! I believe part of the problem is that the Pro-Stitch company changed the HARDWARE that the software is uses ON the quilting machine. The older tablet was no longer available. THAT helped change how everything was displayed. We'll get there, it will just not be a quick or easy road.

Morning..cool morning and day..just stopped raining bit it will be back later in the day..anxious to cut grass before the long weekend, doubtful with every day calling for raisin. I am amazed that last week there were few leaves, today the world is sooo green

Pat, you would think with the $$$ paid for that quilter than there would be in-house classes by the seller..
Just woke mom up, made her a hair appt, don’t want her to be rushing about and tire herself out. The plan is she will go home with Brian Sunday or Monday, hope so as I would have to make another trip to Brampton.

Think i will stay in my mighty until 1:00pm and get my floors and dusting done..have left all behind work since mom has been here..drives me crazy when things are in disarray.

Oops Marie is here with out of the oven muffins

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like your mom is doing better.
Did she get all her test results? C-diff, cancer?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Marie was at the door, brought us banana muffins just out of oven, yummy

Then i drove mom to get her hair done, left and got gas..our equivalent t yours is $7.71 gal..ouch, went to Foodland and bought a few things, hamburger to make a spaghetti sauce this weekend, my meds and only had a 10 minute wait for mom.

Sharon is com8ng to pick her up for the day.

No c-diff or cancer, gets mri July 6th
Yes, much stronger, tires more easily but other than that back to almost normal

She will go home Sunday then on the 24th will have a worrisome day, Bella gets all her teeth out…

Going back to Pat, i cannot believe that they don’t provide in-house training..could you ask as an alternative a name of someone who has one that maybe you could hire for lessons?

Karen, my dealer offers lessons with each machine and as you say many continue updating to newer machines because of the one on one service.

What is the temp in your are Lindakay and Sharon.

Dianne, are you feeling better? Are yo au getting a rain like i am throughout long weekend?

Deb, what is happening in your neighbourhood?

Susan did you say you were doing a veggie garden, if so how is it doing?

Mom just left to spend day with Sharon so I’ll vacuum, wash my floors, finish me bedding..i have classes fro 2-4, 4-6, 6-8 this afternoon so best get my act together

Verona, ON

Rain, rain, rain here and more forecasted for the weekend. I feel sorry for those who camp over this long weekend. Sunday looks lovely so far.

Everything is very green and lush here. I need to trim back some tree branches so will attempt to do that this weekend. if I can't reach the branch from the ground then I will ask someone to help. No ladders for me !!

Betty Greg went to Port Dover !!! I haven't been in over 25 years. Did he have a good time ? So many people there - it is a mini Sturgis.

Bought a lovely basket of yellow begonias - Warren's favourite. I'll go early tomorrow and get another hanging basket and maybe a few annuals.

Has anyone heard from Judy ?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hoping Luz will update us on Judy..

Greg and Noah did have a great day, long way to go but they missed last 2 years and didn’t want to miss this one. It keeps growing big time, who knows maybe it will be the Sturgis of the North.

For sure Dianne, NO ladder for you..think our weather will improve Monday. Grass so needs a cut. Greg came tonight and put something in the gas of the lawnmower and rider so they will run better but one can’t cut wet grass so it will be a foot high by next week. Bet the TH is loving the warmer weather. Foodland has begonias, one of my favourite..they sure love the shade. Must get one at canadian tire tomorrow..see there is big sale in garden centre..i lost a shrub and want to replace it.

I am paying for having 3 sewing classes today..i know, should know better, won’t complain

Lily finished her pillow, she is a music student so her design was well chosen

Melanie is sick again, doubtful she will be at trailer, Greg was there, his site is right behind Kyle’s so he is enjoying Grayson

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Grayson is a cutie, that is for sure!

Talked with Marie briefly, trying to get a handle on our plans for the quilt get-away next week. Agreed we would bring our meals, takes less time away from SEWING!

We did get in-house training on the frame, loading etc. It's the program that we still need to master, we will. One way or another!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

When I was having difficulty learning to use my embroidery machine, I posted asking for help on a local site we have for posting just about anything. A very kind woman messaged me and came over and helped me get started. She was so much help even though her machine is a different brand. If you have such a site you might post there or ask at a quilting fabric store. It's amazing what a difference a little hands on help makes.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I found what I think is a treasure on an auction site. Just had to have it. When I finish with it, I will give to one of my grandsons who treasures books as I do.
It's a two volume set of "Huckleberry Finn" Why so special? It's the manuscript edition in Mark Twains hand writing. It has all his changes and edits and corrections as he wrote them.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW Karen, THAT is a treasure!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, it was 102 today.
We went to Uvalde to see the Dr about getting him a colonoscopy. He has had severe constipation for more than a month now. We were sent across the street to the hospital ER for CT scan
We found out today he has a large tumor in his colon, and is most likely cancer. He has to go to ER specialty hospital tomorrow in San Antonio for further testing, biopsy...
Please keep him in your prayers.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh no, Linda Kay, prayers being sent! Please keep us updated.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I will.
Thank you very much.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Linda, so very sorry. Please know you are in our thoughts.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, 58°f with high winds..rain suppose to start around 6or so, will give me opportunity to cut grass before it starts.with i could find my weeder batteries..grrr

Lindakay, there are no words, know how worried you must me..one thing going for Todd is they are acting immediately..prayers and hugs my fried.

Jeff is driving north, believe 6-8 hour drive one way to bring Braedon and Caleb to the Camp..said he will truly try to come and do my to do list weekend after. I haven’t looked what remains, perhaps i can get them done.

Mom just got up so I will get her fed, cut my grass and trim, might suggest i drive her to Aunt Muriel’s for afternoon while I do errands.. need ti get a shrub to replace one that died this year..let’s say it looked as though it was a 3 piece root so i cut it, think i might have saved 1/4 of plant.

Verona, ON

Linda sending positive thoughts, vibes and prayers. We'll all be here supporting you both. It's quite a shock to get that diagnosis. I was really blindsided when Warren's diagnosis of cancer was given. You take care of yourself Linda you will have lots on your plate.

Sunny and over 80* here and I am in bed. I have been throwing up most of the night and am covered in bites - like I mean dozens and dozens of them. I am not sure if that is what is causing my vomiting, sore throat and severe headache. I've taken Benadryl and Gravol but they don't seem to be helping. I've not been around anyone except at Foodland - and there I wear a mask (a beautiful dragonfly one LK made me) and gloves. I figure sanitizing isn't enough as those I've watched don't plus they have their grubby hands all over the grocery items.

I am so itchy I could scream. I have Afterbite but even that is not helping.

Enjoy your long weekend Betty and Susan. I guess the rest of you have your Memorial Day long weekend is next weekend.

Stay safe and remember to wash your hands.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, really could be 2 separate issues, sounds very much like COVID..do you have a testing unit? Mask, gloves sometimes don’t do the trick. Are you getting black flies already..dreadful that after waiting so long for spring we have to deal with bugs.
Barrie is giving free of charge potato sack type tree covers and other to help their region..wish we could do like we did when we were at the lake, all out cottage association had members pay for spraying, it was worse year ever and the spraying helped that year but there was minimal year after.
Please check in with us as we will be worried about you.
We are lucky to have such beautiful weather today, in 80’s..I was able to get grass cut,

Sharon picked mom up around 11am. taking her shopping and dropping her off at aunt Muriel’s, i am going to town for a few hours so they will get a few hours to visit. Likely they will want to go out somewhere to have supper, hope not..hate eating out when one has so much food in their refrigerator. Had wondered if mom would indeed go home Sunday but she has all packed nicely ready to go..if she was like she was these past 2 weeks one would put mind taking her in.

Hoping to get back before dark so i can give my riding lawnmower a good wash.
Have 2 batteries for my weeder, can’t find one of them..you would think I would Pau attention to where i store things. Grrr

What are all of you up to

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, you & husband will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dianne, I wonder if it truly is bug bites or something else since all the allergy treatments don't seem to be reducing the reaction. Do you have access to online MD? Could you send pictures of the bites and ask for consultation? Tela-health has really become the MD visit of choice during Covid.

I apparently have ONE weed eater battery that is taking a charge. I will dispose of the "bad one", no sense keeping it around.

I have been out weeding and pruning. I have not put the petunias in the flower beds yet. Bought them, you would think I'd get that done while they were still in their prime. Maybe yet today.

Victoria Harbour, ON

With it raining all weekend i will search for other one.. certainly wouldn’t have thrown it away.. wasn’t attached to leaf blower.

Shouldn’t have eaten as much as i did but was so hungry.

I washed my lawnmower, looks like new, watered a few plants, stopped in Fesserton and bought that climbing plant i get yearly that fits in the rusted iron basket i got when in Ohio..i she only had one left, will be red..usually they have flowers on them, this one is sickly, apparently they had a cold spell after getting them in so best it flowers, tried to get her to down the price but she wouldn’t budge $50+tax..bought corn on the cob $1.20 each..i like cold corn, these must be weeks old being shipped from the south..thought I’d i could waste $$ on a half dead plant won’t hurt me to throw 5 ears of corn away.

Did you get your petunias planted Pat? Are you like me, by the time you get to end of gardens it’s time to start over.

So wanted to finish that window stained glass piece so mom could see it hanging but won’t happen unless i go to bed at 7 and get up extra early.

We will see

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Betty, do noot throw awy weed eater battery. Clean i when it connects to thr charger. Debris gets in that area or on thr charger and th battery is nt connecting.

Linda, i am praying for your husband and his biopsy. Time like this are very frightening but God works in many wonderful ways.If cancer, they may be able o remove that section.

I forgot to order something fro Amazon and that is why I opened my comouter this time of night. Order has been placed. Hugs.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, 55°F sky pi’s dark, winds are up, i see on other weather channels they are calling for bad storms..be on the watch Dianne.

Sharon what pretty did you order on Amazon? Was Pat that was going to throw out her battery so Pat excellent idea Sharon has about doing a major cleaning..as for me i will go in search of my 2nd battery, has to be here somewhere.

Lily showing off her music pillow she embroidered and and made.

I was up at 6am.. i prefer to be up a few hours before the boys come for their lessons.
Ezra the youngest is spending the weekend with his grandparents so I’ve only Mason and Evan coming so i just set up to finish the hanging.. if weather clear here and there for a 1/2 hr. Or so would love to hoe the gardens.

Coffee time

Verona, ON

The air is very heavy but the sun is shining. I am sitting in my screened in room and the breeze off of the lake is lovely.

Betty I am waiting for some big T&L storms to hit.

Something weird is going on with me - this morning around all of the bites I have there are bruises. They are not as itchy today and I found some Benadryl spray in the cupboard which is helping with the itch.

Quiet so far on the lake. Apparently the lake water is still very cold so unless you belong to the polar bear club you won't be swimming.

LK keeping you and Todd in my prayers.

It's already over 80* so it will be a quiet day. The days when I used to mad dog it out in the heat are over. I am not intentionally inflicting myself with sunburn and body aches.

Need to check my tool kit for a specific tool to tighten the door knob on the TH's door to the outside.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

That is really odd about the bites Dianne. VERY curious what you got into.

I will try that on the weed eater battery. Those things are NOT cheap & I hate having only one Sharon.

I got the flowers that were already bought into the ground & promptly went out and bought twice as many, *sigh*. I will get those planted today.

Marie is cleaning out her closet and we are having a yard sale NEXT weekend to hopefully recoup some of the money for all the craft store we cleared out of her office (where to put the long arm machine). I called Ben's sister in law & daughter & they went thru the clothes.

We found some longarm instruction classes and are watching them. THESE are much better quality of class & are confident that we are on the right track now.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Diane, I think you should have your bites looked at. Best no to wait and see if they are going to clear up.

Betty, Looks like you have found your forte in teaching kids to sew. Something you could enjoy doing maybe a day or two a week and add a bit to your "mad" money.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good afternoon everyone.
Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers.
He will hopefully have his scope and biopsy tomorrow.
Because he has been so constipated for more than a month, they are trying to get him to go potty, so they can do the scope and or colonoscopy. So far the first procedure hasn't worked. They will try it again tonight.
His pain is being controlled with morphine.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't know if you have heard the news, but there is also monkey pox going around.
Dianne, check your symptoms

https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/monkeypox-canada-global-outbreak-1.6461880

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I wish they had posted pictures of the affected skin so it was easier to identify.
Linda, did the doctors give ANY indication of their recommendations for the "normal public" to follow when a person is constipated and "not gone"? How long is too long? I can NOT imagine how uncomfortable Todd was after 30 days!! He continues in my prayers.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

He told his doctors he has been having problems going, and all the told him was to take laxatives or enemas. Neither of which worked. After a month, he said enough is enough. He couldn't eat, and has lost 40 pounds in 2 months.
He is now admitted, and getting treatment he needs.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sure hope all goes well for the testing tomorrow Lindakay, sure must be uncomfortable for him. 40 lbs is a lot of weight to lose..is he a big man to start with?

I believe there is a case of Monkey pox in Toronto, sores look far worse than shingles. Not sure, but i think they said last time the virus’s as here was 2007 from lab monkey testing.

Karen, i have been doing classes, Lordy, Tuesday 2 classes, Wednesday 2 classes, thursday 3 classes, Saturday 3 classes.. all 2 hour session sooo i should say no when i am asked if their kids can join in..won’t be bad in summer when i can change them to days when school is out.

Dianne, one of them what is believed to be a tornado hit just blocks from moms..think a young woman lost her life. Is there a drug store open that you could go to, maybe pharmacist might have suggestions as to different meds that could help. So glad you are enjoying your screened in room.

You’ve been busy Pat between gardening and decluttering at Marie’s
I was up at 6am, taught my class, hoed 5 gardens, sides of house and front yard, finished the window hanging, will put hooks and hang it in the morning… just twook my 4th Tylenol 3 and others meds, this bed sure feels good.

In the morning I will take mom to Norman’s Garden Gallery in Midland, need a shrub to replace the one I lost over the winter, mom wants to go look around so it will be a treat for both of us, hopefully they just don’t open at noon,,if so that might not work seeing mom had a ride back to the city in the afternoon.

Susan, Liz and Deb are you all ok?

Saying prayers for Todd as I go off to nightly night.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, 44° feeling like 43° with a light drizzle until about noon or so so not a complete washout for my kids camping.

My prayers and thoughts this morning are with you Lindakay and Todd..hope he had a good night,

Normans Garden is open at 10 so by the time mom gets up around 9, has breakfast we should be able to get to Normans Garden Gallery

Oops mom just got up

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the prayers Betty.
Waiting is the hardest part.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Really is
Worse when Roger died was the half truths..

The specialist told me Christmas Day there were a few tests they would do which would give them better indication as to where we would go from there.

I was walking the hall with future sister in law when a you intern came and asked me how things were going, i told him what specialist had said, intern said please contact specialist, your husband is terminally ill, could pass away in next few days, you deserve to know what is happening..

Hugs
