C-dif can be miserable, and it's contagious. I know you will be careful. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes, told Brian to pick up Lysol and gloves while he is in pharmacy..
Morphine wearing off, hope he can get prescription

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh goodness. C-dif is BAD news. I hope you as a family can take turns with her care. IT is too much for one person for 24/7, 7 days a week. I hope for all your sakes she will consider some kind of Skilled nursing care at least for a few weeks until she can either live on her own, or remain at SNF.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes, we will all take turns, problem with that is she wants her dog with her and no can do at my sibblings, whenever she is here she has her room so feels at home.
Hope you all are having a great Mother’s Day (humans and furries).

What did you get up to today?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just taking it easy. Both of my boys called to say happy mothers day.
105 today. Too hot to go outside.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Well that sucks. Your mother only feels "comfort" at your house. For your sanity, I hope you insists she spends some time with the others, even if it is without her dog. To quote a song "We don't always get what we want."

My sister brought me lunch after church today, she is worried about me. Knows this stuff here is stressful & I am not doing so great with it at the moment. I waited until almost 8PM to finally have the kitchen to myself so I could prep the pretzel salad I wanted to take out to Marie's tomorrow. Just waiting for the "crust" to cool so I can add the next layer, then the NEXT layer.

I should take out one of Quilt PIGs so the time passes more quickly between the steps of the pretzel salad. I should have plugged in my Kindle earlier, it died and I am waiting for it to charge.

Adam brought me 2 lillies in bloom, I'll plant them tomorrow. They are in the closed bathroom right now to keep them away from Stanley.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you are stressed Pat. Never easy having the family move back home.
What is quilt pig?

Sunshine day, high of 66..wind is strong but still nice to be out working in gardens..

Was quite a mess this morning so washed the bedding and her clothing, Sharon will come later to help me give her a bath, she must be feeling a tad better because she is fighting me on that

I was out near her bedroom cleaning gardens, I’m sure i would hear if she called out..worked for half hour and in trouble with left side so taking a break.
When Mike/Kim come I will see if she will sit a bit on front deck..she always loved that

Have to run but prayers with you Pat..time they leave like it or not

Lindakay, don’t cook in that heat..call it a sew sew day

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

PIG, just an unfinished project, same as UFO.

I am working on possible solutions. None of them sound right yet.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Never heard that term. Thanks for the explanation.
Betty, sounds like you have your hands full. Try not to over do it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg, while waiting for doctor’s call Sharon and I decided we would bath mom..no way, she got soooo upset, nearing tears, fretting
Said “my last wish on this earth is not to have a bath”. Too upsetting to her so guess it’s a sponge bath.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh no. Sorry you are going through this.
((((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maybe tomorrow she says she will let us give her a bath.

Dr. Doesn’t know what the problem is but not pancreatic cancer.
Go8ng to check her fir c-difficile..Sharon will go pick up a kit tomorrow, doctor sent a prescription for meds to my small pharmacy, hoping that will help..she keeps wanting pa8n meds but i have to say no.

Tomorrow is another day..girls come in the morning, i will work in the afternoon in gardens if I can then have a young sewer at 4pm..hmmm maybe i should not have taken on the wee ones

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Maybe call the little ones, and reschedule. Tell them someone in the house is sick. Give yourself a break too.
Hope the pharmacy can get meds needed.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

YES!! If you possibly have C-dif in the house, you REALLY don't want anyone coming. It'd nasty stuff and highly contagious.

Morning, still have wind but it should reach 72 today.
2nd day in a row that i can wear my summer outfits, when people see me in the darkens working with these I’m always told I should work in my best clothes meanwhile some of these are 20+years

Mom was up a few times and didn’t wake me but i had to wash the floors..looks stronger to me, she says she would be 100% if not for pain and her bowel issues.

Pat and June come this morning, i had bought a few years ago small metal triangl wind him be so today is the day we’ve decided to get them done.

By the time I’ve cleaned after mom, got her set up with pudding, jello and drinks for the morning I’ve 15 minutes to enjoy my coffee.

Maybe this afternoon i can take that planter out of my trunk and try to figure it out, get some planting soil and look forward tomato plants and cucumber and bean seeds.

Should call Charlie and see if he puts the Angel plant out to get them acclimatized to weather before he comes to plant them

Other project I so want done is the window hanging I’m doing for moms room out of the lamp i made her that she broke..

If i can achieve that i will be happy

What is your goal for the week

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Tonight, I will help with a project to sew PJ pants for the teen shelter. I have the flannel in my car & I need to round up the rest of the supplies. I would have preferred we get all the fleece cut up but that doesn't really make sense as hot weather is coming.
Marie's husband has procedure on his back this morning, he has broken another vertebrae.. I hope this lessens his pain.
There is lots to do outside (and inside!). Adam bought me 2 blooming lilies for Mothers day & I need to get them planted as well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Praying all goes wee with Marie’s hubby..cool weather will be here before we know it but think cotton might be better for them this time of year..
Pat, June and I painted smaller windchimbs, sooo cute..i even touched up the big one i finally found where i had it hug outside for many years.

When i came upstairs mom said she was hungry for mashed potatoes and gravy..made her a fair size plate, she ate it all up while i went for her prescription.. pharmacist asked if I was picked up my injection meds..i said but i thought you said there was a 6-9 month wait..yep still is but doctor ordered another type..hurrah

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Happy to hear that you are getting a substitute! Hope it helps soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes, pleases me as well, hoping that it works as good as the other one

Sharon was in town getting a test kit for mom and stopped at garden nursery, i asked her to pick me one up, Lordy hers were $40:each and mine was $30, mine was cheaper because it was only red geraniums. I have 4 planters and need 4 more, would be nice if there was a sale lol

Mom made a walk into living room then back to bed so that is a plus

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, you need to watch dairy products with your mom. They will irritated her tummy.
Yogurt is good, but she shouldn't have dairy products.
Outrageous how much flowers are this year.
Our gas just went up to $3.99 per gallon today. That's the highest it's ever been.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think with conversion of gallons/litters it works out around $1.50 more a gallon.. .so much has happened that one party could control..we have provincial elections here next month, not one party any better than any other, Ford who I would not ever ever have voted for with every day changes, if not every few hours will get my vote, can’t believe I will but will..

Mom has done so much better today, in fact she was arguing with Sharon, said nobody is going to sell her house and put her in a home, likely by weekend she will be ok and will go home she says.

Then she asked me if she was a burden in me staying here, said she wants to stay here, she is at home and has her doggie

We got her in the tub, hurrah for us..i stood in the tub, held her while Sharon lifted her..of course i have a high tub so that doesn’t help her feel like she will fall..sooo guess you could say i had a 1/2 a bath lol

Don’t think Ziggy likes the dog here but they adjust

What a gorgeous day, did want to work outside but didn’t..now mom is feeling better i will spend tomorrow catching up on what I’m behind. Suppose to rain 4-5 days in the next week so with sun and rain there will be big growth happening.

Saw Greg today, no he needed something so i set it outside, he did not look good. Destiny and Grayson have it as well..worrisome for sure.

Susan, how are you doing

Sharon, company gone

Dianne are you getting this weather

Debbie, things ok with you

Karen, you back home

Setting alarm to let Bella out for 9:30pm

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you got her a bath.
Sounds like your schedule never stops. Take care of yourself too.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh goodness Betty, for your sake I hope your mother does not decide to stay indefinitely!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - c-diff is nothing to fool with, and you shouldn't have anyone else there anyway, you're exhausted. Here's hoping your substitute meds work for you.
Price of gas is outrageous. In an oil & gas province, it should be cheaper, right? Not if we're importing from somewhere else it's not........
I finished the lap quilt I / we were making for Ruby who is trying to move to NB, but of course can't until their place sells. We went out for lunch, as a group today. Chinese food, then afterwards Dianne & I did some errands in Olds. That includes buying supplies for Silver Willow for the May long weekend town-wide yard sale that we're providing lunch for. Then to Innisfail to pick up a table top spinning wheel for the kids to win stuffed toys on. (should be fun). Then back home for 1/2 hour, then Dianne & I returned to Olds for Crib. She & I played other partners, and my partner Olga & I won 2nd prize, $17.50 each. We got skunked one game & won the other 7. Got home at 10pm. That was one day in my life. Too much to state the other stuff. Suffice to say, I keep busy and if that's any indicator, I'll never get Alzheimer's lol

Another glorious day here. It reached 80* yesterday and looks like it will do the same today.

I am a little grumpy as my left knee locked again so getting things done outside is difficult.
I am sure you heard me roaring in pain. It took quite a while for me to get it unlocked. The pain makes me sick to my stomach it is so intense. I just feel so angry that I can't get as much done as I want.

Betty remember to take care of yourself while mom is there. We all care for you and sure don't want you to make your health worse. You are a saint !! After all your mother has said to hurt you and Sharon you still take her in when she is ill. Can either your mom or her dog go to Sharon's even just for 24 hours to give you a breather ?

Susan it is good to read you are keeping busy.

LK does the border situation look like it is improving ? Are you feeling better ?

Yesterday I went to change out the placemats after Dawn cleaned and ended up having a little cry. The first set my hands reached for Barb had made. I sure miss her. She and Norm never made it here but we had plans for them to come.

Kai had a standoff with a Canada Goose yesterday. It was really quite funny to see. Kai dashed into the lake while momma goose was cruising the shoreline. He just couldn't resist !! The goose won ! I am sure they could hear her in the village she was so loud warning Kai off.

Deb how are you doing ?

Time to take some meds and rearrange my left leg to a more comfortable position.

Stay safe and well.

My weather is much like yours Dianne, trying to fit in some gardening because if it start to rain weeds will take over.

It would be nice to have a few days break, but she has only been here since Sunday

She came out and sat in sun for a bit but then washroom called, she was too far from washroom so I will open back deck bedroom door that way she can enjoy some sunshine.

Made a nice omelette for lunch, gave her quite a bit and she ate it all so her appetite is improving.

Susan, great you are enjoying your days and look at you winning $$$, your weather is better?

Poor Kai, he will steer away next time he sees one. I could not believe it, when i picked up Mom Sunday there was a Canada goose walking down the road, no interest in sharing the road..how they survive in the city i don’t know.

I also think of Barb and norm..my morning coffee is usually in a mug from their home town..we had mega fun the week she was here..i was spoilt, every morning Norm would get up early, heat tonTim Hortons and pick up coffee /donuts

Pat, i sincerely hope it won’t be long time, i won’t let it happen

Got a message that Peighton can’t make class tonight, school sent her home sick.

I worked outside , mad mom and I an omelette, shouldn’t have laid frown on this couch, eyes are so heavy, maybe an hour nap wouldn’t hurt

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Diane.
Border situation is getting worse by the day. Sad our president won't put a stop to it.
My hip is much better. Thanks. Chiropractor adjustment and an extra celebrex helped so much.
Hope you get treatment for your knee.
Glad to hear your mom is eating. Hope that's a good sign she is on the mend.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

For anyone interested, you can follow this page on Facebook for border updates.

Linda, so happy to hear your hips is improving!!!

Nova, Adam's female lab, is in heat and now in the folding kennel in the living room. I have cut up a throw rug to protect the hardwood floor from being gouged. I hope it works this time.

We had a women's work meeting last night and cut out sleep pants. I made a picture tutorial and posted it for those brave souls that took some home to sew. I'll finish the waist elastic on all of them after they get all the other parts done. We got 10 pair ready for me to add elastic at waist. I did NOT want to attempt that last night with so many different sizes etc. We have another 12 or more going home with the ladies to sew at home. They will be donated to the teen shelter.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

They will be greatly appreciated Pat.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Linda - glad to hear your hip is doing better.
What a lovely idea, Pat, to make & donate sleep pants! I've never heard the term before, but it's self-explanatory. Good for you & the group to do this!
Betty - my weather is up & down like a yo-yo. Sometimes wind storm, sometimes 70F and we've also had rain & snow (if you can believe it!). Time to mow the lawn though. Nice that your mom is enjoying the sunshine. That's a plus for her to get better
Dianne - sorry to hear your leg is making you grumpy. Take the time to be grumpy though, you so seldom are, that you deserve a nice "grump" now & then. The TH must be surprised at your mood though lol

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I saw a post once. "May: May be raining, may be sunshine, may be snowing!"

I agreed to teach a class in Provo UT YEARS ago in June. The week before I was to go, they had snow. The week I taught, we needed air conditioning! I decided if I EVER taught their again, I would pass up the free room & rent a motel room with air conditioning (and NOT a bunch of noisy women up all hours of the night!)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Quote from psychw2 :
I saw a post once. "May: May be raining, may be sunshine, may be snowing!"

hahahaha funny, but sadly, too true!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, are you not posting because you are busy in the garden, or with uour Mom?
Praying all is well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry, never stopped and i mean never stopped since 6 this morning..i was doing 3 things at a time, even burned the potatoes this afternoon

Worked in garden all morning with a hoe, cooked lunch that would do mom dinner and supper..brother Mike and his wife Kim dropped in for a visit..had sewing classes since 2pm and last one just left8:15.

Got mom her meds, treats..set alarm for 10:00 to let Ziggy out.

Took my meds, pain bad, hopefully i can sleep.

Told Sharon I was busy all day Saturday and she would have to take mom..

Big sigh

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow! You have been busy, and sounds like you over did it a bit. Hopefully meds and a hot bath will allow you to get some rest.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Got home late last night. So much road construction. Made for a very long day.
We had a good time. Mother's Day was celebrated over 4 days. Found a couple shrubs I wanted. Nurseries here didn't have them. Got back in time to see my Peonies in full bloom. prettiest year yet.
