Pat please go get help with that UTI. It will NOT get better and will get much worse, trust me on this one.
I have to say for the last hour I have a very happy hiney. My bottom has been so sore from the 2 1/2 days on that ER gurney, I've been in misery. I mentioned it it in the hospital and nurse checked and even commented on it but that was the end of it. I also mentioned it to nurse at drs. office with same result. I've been keeping the area slathered with A&D ointment which has helped some. Thursday I looked on Amazon for one of those memory foam cushions and ordered a middle of the line one. The relief was immediate. I can see myself dragging this every where with me.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Chat with friends, fireplace on, come join in..newcomers always welcome!
Yeah Karen!! Happy hineys are important! I hate when medical personnel just kind of "accept" that you are in pain and give no suggestions or even act like it's a concern. "Suck it up" doesn't even cover their attitude sometimes, it's more like "so what". I am happy to hear you found your own solution.
Great news for you Karen, it will give you relief..medical situation is in dire needs.,not enough doctors or nurses..with Covid they cannot keep up
It’s 56f here today, imagine
Ezra just left, other 2 boys earlier
Glad ezra’s mom stays so she knows indeed it is he who is sewing lol
All happy campers..today Evan did not sew, he was disappointed he couldn’t do sleigh last week so his mom asked if he could do it today
Forgot to rest send with photos
Not a wonder, want to cry I’m in so much pain
I’ve taken everything i can think of including a full syringe of cbd oil
Have my shoulder holster on, laying putting pressure on the shoulder
Not from booster shot, shovelling caught up to me then add tense muscles because i was up worrying all night.,not a good mix
It is so wonderful to see boys sewing and doing crafts. I have done some sewing with several of my "boys". When my sister was expecting, I sat with her 2nd son & he sewed her a pair of maternity pants.
Good afternoon everyone.
I am almost done with customer quilts. I think 2 more. Then going to try and get my own quilts done for Christmas presents. It's going to be close.
Susan, hang in there. I know it's tough going through this, but you can do it. Keeping you in our prayers.
Karen, glad to hear you are on the mend. I bought one of the cushions a few years ago. Best money I spent.
Pat, please go to the Dr and get proper meds.
Betty, the smile on those boys faces, says they are thrilled to be making things. Praying you don't get flooding with your snow melting.
Solaray D-Mannose w/CranActin Cranberry Extract 1000mg w/VIT C | Healthy Urinary Tract Support (150 CT) Pat, this is the supplement I got for Vern because he kept getting UTI's. This stopped them in their tracks. A home care nurse recommended it to me. My friend that lived to be 103 died from a UTi. Vern was in the ER and acting really crazy and playing with things in the air that were not there. The doctor said we need to run tests and the nurse said why, he has a UTI. After tests, she was right.
Betty, the doctor that lives a few houses down stopped by and told me wen I get the booster, set a 3 day period aside because you are going to ache an feel bad all over your body. Have you just recently had your booster.
That is great news to hear about the young man. Where is he living now? How is Sharon's dog.
Karen, I have a friend that has slept in a recliner for over 3 years.
Betty - OUCH on the pain, dear lady. I know you won't, but I DO hope you rest enough without over-doing. A green Christmas? Haven't had one of those since I was 12!
The place is all decorated, I'm going out for Turkey lunch at the Legion on Christmas Day with my neighbour, Carol, and I'm keeping happy & warm thoughts. I've made some Christmas cards, wrapped presents for 2 friends nearby & have a couple more to do. I sent my daughter & SIL a couple of presents & she said she's sent me some to arrive Dec 23 & 24th. I'll be fine. I watch Christmas movies & listen to Christmas music. My house is Fully Decorated for Christmas. I won't let this spoil the season for me. I've invited a friend for dinner New Year's Day, and a couple of gal friends are coming to visit me from Calgary, sometime before Christmas. Tomorrow night I'm in a Christmas concert at my church, and going to Christmas Eve service. Granted, it's in the next town, 30 min away, and there are no lights on the highway but I'm looking forward to all the loveliness of the season.

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas Susan.
Haven't walked yet to see if there is any wind damage. The house is fine and no trees blew down near the house. The wind was sure howling. It was 70 - 90 km and just whipping around the house. Chaos was fine but Kai was just shaking and limbed into the bed with me.
Betty did you get the wind ? I have green grass - no snow.
I so feel for the people in the US - what a devastating thing to have happen any time but just before Christmas.... wow. I have a friend in Kentucky and she said the tornado touched about 40 mi north of her. All of this damage will take years to rebuild.
Susan I am so happy to read you are not letting anything get in the way of your Christmas joy. You are wise to keep yourself busy with fun activities.
Pat I hope you got that UTI taken care or and if you haven't you seek medical care. Cranberry juice became a staple in our house when DH's kidneys were damaged - by a medication no less.
Sharon that is interesting news your doctor neighbour passed on to you about how to handle the third shot. I can get mine Christmas week. I'll keep that advice in mind and get enough wood inside to last 4 or 5 days. You won't be able to move in 1 end of the living room but that's OK.
Karen are you continuing to feel better ? Good to hear your tushy is happy.
LK you are going to be busy getting your own quilts completed before Christmas.
The temperature dropped 30* overnight. I'll have to bundle up to walk.
Deb how big are your pups now ?
Stay safe and well.
Morning, what a sunshine day,
Yes Dianne it only died down about 3am, still many areas without power, thankfully I’m not one of them
Again I spent most of the night up, the pumps were going every 30 seconds so I wanted to make sure I would be alert to handle if the power went out so this morning after two nights of barely sleeping just an odd nod off I am so tired. Beyond tired, so laughing, I went to make my coffee first thing this morning open the cupboard door to get the coffee jar and if I didn’t grab the bottle of oil and fill a teaspoon of oil into my cup, that’s sad but today’s a new day the sun is shining we still have snow thankfully it all didn’t melt or I would’ve had mega troubleSo today is a good day.
I took note Dianne of what you suggested for UTI, a few months ago I know sooner get rid of it I had it again not pleasant. As for cranberry juice I have some from Bella where they grow the cranberries so it’s pretty pure you have to add a touch of water and I take that frequently.
Susan it’s great that you’re decorated for the holidays, that youth plans with friends it will get you through the holidays without some of the worry for a little time at least.
I did get the booster on Friday but that was not the reason for the pain. I had no reaction to it my arm was barely sore. The extreme pain I was in was from all the shovelling and being tense the muscles went in spasms from my worry about the pump. After all the drugs I took yesterday I looked like I was on a trip, Melanie took a picture of me with Grayson and I made her delete it, oh my God talk about sad.
Dianne as for the young man that’s going to help with my drive he and his wife live up the street from me, top of the hill. I joked with him that it’s all his water that I worry about during flooding as it runs downhill, he got a kick out of that.
Karen how is your tush today?
Pat are you feeling better?
My niece was going to come and visit this afternoon but messaged me that her son has been ill all weekend, he goes to high school and she was worried that with a few cases in the school that it could be Covid so she cancelled out. She is finding it hard this year with finances and said there will be a little gifting, I know how hard that is when you still love Christmas so I had a tote from the past 2-3 years of workshop projects because I always do so many in case so I filled a tote up and told her to pick it up and she would have some gifts to give out.. she’s so appreciative . i will have to meet up one day next week and give them to her.. we always do a Christmas craft together so i will get supplies together and bring them along with me.
I finished another set of towels yesterday, I’ve got to do Sharon’s..other than that I’ve one set left, surely there is someone i can do them fir lol
Cathy is doing some snowman hats but she doesn’t do bows, she should be here any time so best i have lunch..once she leaves i will head to Midland to pick up some wet oasis at the Garden Gallery, will have to close my eyes so i don’t buy anything more.
Will stop at Foodland to see if they have any lanterns left, Sharon wanted once, i could get her one to go with her present.
Hot bath time, was in the ditch, 9mg i couldn’t believe the green growth filling in the grate that allows ditch water flow, i picked up tree limbs, big tree limbs, if i leave them and wind comes up I’d hate to have them scratch the car.
Was in town, crazy place so just bought what i needed..Sharon absolutely loved the lantern so went and got her one as part of her Christmas gift, Linda also wanted one but they had but one..
Bought 10 oasis and bowls for the gone table piece I’m hoping to make with the boys Saturday.they could sew gnome hat and mitts and make the arrangement. The garden center had no more greenery so guess my cedars will get a trim.
Hoping after my bath i will get energized and make one, we will see
Stay well

Sounds like the boys enjoy craft time with you.
They do, hugs the best
Anyone heard from Karen?
Praying they had no damage from those wicked storms.
No storms here Linda.
Thanks for checking in Karen. Glad the storms missed you.
Glad to hear the storms missed you, Karen. They sure did a lot of damage in KY.
Had a scare with Sissy yesterday, I guess it was just a bad reaction to the chemo. She was cold to the touch when I work up yesterday, lethargic, not wanting to eat. I got her warmed with blankets from the dryer, got her to eat a few pieces of chicken, and a little scrambled egg. Still, half expecting to make a one way trip to the vet this morning, but, whatever caused yesterday seems to have passed. She's alert, and ate fairly well for her, she seems back to how she was before last week's chemo.
Off work today, this is my annual shopping day with my daughter. We always pick a Monday in mid December to take off work and go out and do Christmas shopping when the malls aren't as crowded and kids are in school. Hope to get a lot accomplished today. At least I can enjoy it and not worry as much about Sissy.
Morning, another sunshine day..
Glad we are all accounted for,,how are you all doing!
I’ve a list of to do’s but seeing it’s so nice out I’m hoping i can squeeze in getting some cedar for Saturday class and maybe enough to do 3-4 for friends..
Think sewing group will enjoy sewing gnome mitt and hat then move on to an arrangement
I love that gnome.
What did you use as the base?
Christmas Soup Bowl and stood a wet oasis your neck Paul part standing out then just shaped and a bit more on the cold side and took what I had from the cuttings and set it in the pool to secure it that way I could put the cedar on an angle so the hat would fit on, I had a bag of actual snow beans that I was going to add but I couldn’t find it so I’ll have to go looking before I give this one away to Linda tomorrow.

Morning, not raining or snowing north sunshine and even though it’s cool I enjoyed my outing this morning. I had an entire list of things to do today and had no clue how I would accomplish them, people are in and out so I got up at 3 AM and got a good part of it done
Was sitting on the couch just cutting dates and cherries And that was enough to do my shoulder and arm in…
I have two girls coming to do us sleigh, pat and June are coming over for a Christmas visit, a lady who advertise that she was missing bulbs for her ceramic tree she inherited from her mother is coming to get some bulbs I had a bag of them, Marie is coming over at one to do the frying pan bowls, likely I could’ve done them on my own but she fell maybe if she should be the first time it would help to put them all chopped up..Have another set of towels online just noticed I didn’t change the thread towels are such a pale light blue and then I started with white thread so white it will be for the other pieces that go with it that’s what you get when you’re tired.
With it being held birthday today I almost hope that Greg and Mel aren’t having supper for him an invite me because I’ll be away in bed before 5 o’clock I’m sure
Went to Foodland blew my stack there is a guy that works there he might be in his bed 20s his mother is manager he can no more smile or help you out if his life depended on it. The other day I went in and bought Sharon one of those lanterns that the girl had bought me for doing the quilt and I asked him if he had any others without looking he said no that’s the last one and we’re not ordering anymore, this morning after I buy Linda a gift to go with her towels that I embroidered isn’t there one sitting right where the other lantern was sitting. When I told him about it he said well I thought we were out so I reamed him, makes me so darn mad when people can’t even take a second to check what’s in stock or how they can help the customer. I bought June a lovely glass candle about 8 inches tall that has pine trees painted on it so pretty when it lights up, put it in a bag And noticed the back was indentation, never noticed…I’m in pain, big sigh, I will ask June to take it back on her way home hopefully he will exchange it.
Have no idea how I’m going to get Jeff’s guitar quilt finished, I don’t like it the way they did it is ridiculous but I’ve got so much money into it already, $200, but I don’t give up on it so they’ll be a lot of 3 o’clock mornings if I intend on getting it done.
So that’s my morning, I’m miserable, my excuse is the pain i am in..

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Praying the Dr.s can find a way to give you relief soon.
Likely since his mother is the manager, he feels he has job security. His mother is NOT doing him any favors by letting poor job performance go uncorrected. Adam works with SEVERAL family members of the owner of Wing Stop. Some are good workers and others... not so much. Owner has fired one of his own kids before.
Sorry that your guitar project is proving to be such a difficult project. Your body pain is sure not making it any easier. Prayers for your healing.
Pushed myself big time, not doing myself any favours, another 9 days and i can put my feet up and rest.
My house was open house today, Lordy…
Jackie Glen who i had given knitting needles last year when because of Covid she couldn’t find any dies booties with leather soles, i ordered a pair, she dropped them off and wouldn’t take money.. i had a bag with pieces of Hyde so gave it to her,,
A lady. Had called yesterday to see if i could put a sleigh kit together, i messaged her and said that Cyndi was coming this morning ti do 2 of them and if she came around same time i could show her how to do them..knew that i had to go cedar hunting in the bush this afternoon because i don’t want to be doing it in rain or snow they are calling for thursday/Friday and with going for the day tomorrow didn’t want to leave it.. she invited me to her house, entire property line is cedar trees, she even helped me cut branches..
Marie came over to show me how to make the frying pan treat, i had bought enough to make 2 batches..6 doz.
I would be in bed if it weren’t for answering a post on our hub, someone was looking for stars and lights fir a ceramic tree, won’t be here but between 5:30pm
Just got a message someone else looking for some, i will have to tell her what is left once this lady comes and takes what she wants
Living like this is no fun..got to wonder?? Using bad word to describe this pain.
Those look delicious. Please tell us what they are.
Betty, what things can you eliminate that will reduce the pain? Are you doing things that contribute to the stress of the shoulder? Can you make arrangements with your young neighbor to be hired for some of those things? Can you NOT make certain things this year to give yourself and should a break? Sending you prayers of healing AND good sense!!
Morning, temps has really dropped since yesterday, the windows up, imagine a nice light coat of white snow will make everything look clean again.
I was up at 3:30, bathed, did my hair, sure will like getting my perm in the morning..
Made a coffee , couch looked comfy, fell asleep and just woken…
Linda they were Messy to me but oh so good..
They have dates, walnut pieces, cherries, cocoanut (also rolled in cocoanut) rice crispies, brown sugar..each batch makes 3 dozen..if you want the recipe i could post it.
To your questions Pat,
Bra comes first, when i look at my 3 worse days I had worn a bra, the strap pushing into my shoulder doesn’t help the situation, had to smile, what what would the young man think asking him to help with bra,,
We have not had snow since Friday so there has been no using the arm for Thayer
Very limited to time spent sewing without it aggravating the shoulder/neck..al those towel sets i made it’s just watching the embroidery machine going.
I say whatever my problem is, its getting worse.
I leave for Sharon’s at 10:45, we will pick up Linda and head to Cookstown for lunch..if I’m ok we will go to drysdale farms..a winter wonderland ..
Wil get up and put a hand towel on the machine..just hand and wash cloths left to do and that is the end of those sets.
Hope those of you not feeling well are a tad better today!
Many women have trouble PUTTING a bra on, but I imagine in your case, it also causes pain just wearing it, with your sensitive shoulders. Do they make a STRAPLESS bra that fastens in the front?? LOL
Marie had the surgery yesterday on her face to remove the squamous skin cancer. They had to go back twice to make sure they got all the margins clear. It wasn't very deep but it was spreading out.
Gloomy day here and it sort of reflects my mood.
Took a run into the village to pick up some Rxs. That's my big excursion for the day.
Kai is just bananas today. Nyla had 2 dog friends visiting and they are taking great delight in coming down and teasing the TH through the window. I don't trust myself to march them back as I would probably say something I would regret later. I've already yelled at Nyla's owner to keep their dog at home a few weeks ago.
Due to the latest covid restrictions our Storms Lane Cookie Exchange was postponed. I'm disappointed as I was looking forward to some treats.
Betty I sure hope they can find something to help ease your pain. Is there surgery in the future ? I am shaking my finger at you Betty and saying you need to slow down but I know it will fall on deaf ears. Just promise us you will pace yourself.
Stay safe and well.
Please share the recipe Betty. They look delicious.
Hope my explaining how to do the rolling makes sense.. if not let me know
FRYING PAN COOKIES
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c dates, chopped fine
1/2 cup cherries /chopped
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped fine)
1/2 cup Rice Krispies (coloured if desired)
1/2 cup fine cocoanut
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
*** 2 pkgs of cocoanut to roll balls
In a frying pan without heat on beat 2 eggs then add brown sugar stirring until
sugar is dissolved
On medium heat stirring constantly for 10 minutes
Then add remaining ingredients stirring between each ingredient added..mix well
Turn off heat, let mixture cool for 5 minutes or so
Set out wax or parchment paper
Suggest you bring out several spoons and fill zinc with water as you will want to wash your hands every 3-4 balls to make it easier for forming balls
Also use another spoon when spoon gets tacky.
Put a bag of cocoanut fine or which ever kind you prefer on the plate, depending on the size you want to roll your frying pan balls, fill a spoon, drop it on the plate with cocoanut, gather cocoanut and drop on the ball, turn ball over and drop a tad more on the ball then take in you hand and form a ball
You can freeze if you with or just eat them, i choose to freeze so i don’t eat them all in one sitting lol
Sorry to hear Dianne that your cookie exchange got cancelled..seeFord announced new guidelines…must be worried as you only have to wait 84 or 86:days after last Covid shot to get your booster..didn’t hear how many allowed in a household at Christmas.
Do neighbour’s just let Nyla run without being in confines area? Maddening fir sure…
What are the odds do you think we will have a green Christmas?
Big sigh, unless things improve tomorrow think Sharon will take inuk for his final car ride..been a week Friday since she got his new meds..doesn’t seem to be working, although vet said would take a few weeks
Thanks for the recipe Betty. They sound delicious. Will go get ingredients.
Praying for Inuk.
Green Christmas ??? Betty I think there is a good possibility of having one. Rain tomorrow and it is to be quite warm.
My heartaches for Sharon and Inuk. Sharon will know deep down when the last car ride is needed. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for Inuk and Sharon.
Susan how are you doing ? Sending positive thoughts, prayers and strength your way. I know you are a strong woman and we are right here behind you.
Deb how was your shopping day with your daughter ? What a great idea !
Waiting to see who wins the Masked Singer.
Sleep well everyone.
Betty - hate to hear you in so much pain!
I think I have all the ingredients for the Frying Pan Cookies - sounds delicious.
I'm having some friends & neighbours over for New Year's Eve, and the next day having 2 of the same friends over for New Year's Day dinner. It'll be 2pm, and I don't expect I'll be up late. Ham is already smoked, so just have to thaw & heat it thoroughly.
Thank you Dianne, for thinking of me. You're right, I'm strong, and on Monday the 20th, he finds out what his trial date is. Unlike some other women I've been told about, I WILL attend his trial and I'm NOT going to drop charges. No One gets away with hurting me, emotionally, mentally, and physically as he did. No One!
Victim Services said they'll attend the trial with me, as support.
